Apple Store was such a big help with my dad. The tech that assist us to be sure the Iphone was not hack did a fantastic job! I was not upset that he had to assist other customers that came in the store. He did a fantastic job on being sure we were taken good care of. I just wish I had gotten the tech name. Apple Store on Fourth Street is a nice place to come inside to. There are parking meters nearby the store which are 30 minutes or 2 hours (suggestion: park at the two hour one). I recently picked up my new iPhone 17 Pro here. Depending on when you're reading, that could be the brand new one or years old haha. I also got my last iPhone here, the 14 Pro Max. I don't tend to upgrade every year. This Apple store has always been friendly and efficient and I really like the location. Parking here can be a bit iffy if going in the middle of the day on a weekend, however I usually try to go right near right when they open and have not had an issue finding parking. Better yet, bike or take an escooter, which I have also done. Some nice eateries and boutiques nearby as well as a Peet's coffee make this location tops. read more

When I went over there and still couldn't find what I needed, he pointed again rather than walking over to help. This isn't how you sell accessories--or treat customers. What an unpleasant experience. I am used to being greeted at an Apple Store and asked how I can he helped. This did not happen at 4th Street. I had an appointment at the Genius Bar and just went and sat there. No one asked how they could help. Finally I looked for someone who seemed like they might be able to help me and, with effort, they finally raised someone at the Genius Bar. I needed help setting up my MacBookAir since the Apple computer environment is new to me. I did get that help. Then I was moved to a little table full of people with Apple helpers there. I overheard the person next to me asking an Apple Watch question that the "helper" couldn't answer, but I could answer. The place was incredibly crowded and there was inadequate air circulation. I was told I could just drive over to emeryville and I would have an appointment there as they had the parts. Got over to Emeryville and they told me it would be two hours to get my phone fixed. My appointment was at 10:15. It's now 11:30 and from what I was told I will be lucky to get out of here before 2:00. I went in because I was having issues with my phone and the way that it was set up and it was probably something that I did but they stayed with me and they worked on it furiously and the issues were resolved. From the minute I came in from outside I was greeted by the security that stands out there that usually security would make you push back. I just bought a MacBook Air and the screen busted immediately! After opening the laptop a few times the lines on the screen started. I took it to the GeniusBar assuming they'd replace bc it was a faulty product. Nope. They offered to repair under AppleCare. Fine, but the employee talked down to me by giving me the analogy " when you buy a new car and it gets dinged in a parking lot you don't get a new car do you?". Then they said there was a crack on the screen. I said where? She replied "well there are 5 layers(obviously) so I can't see it". Then I told her to stop talking down to me and she got mad and brought over the manager and left . I tried telling the manager Jen about my experience with previous employee and she put her hand up like 'zip it' and said we aren't talking about her right now, we are talking about the repair". I guess it was my bad to discuss a grievance about an employee. I told the manager I just bought this computer and felt it should be replaced. She got irritated etc etc and told me I could go elsewhere then. So I'm def going to a different Apple Store. I have been buying Apple products for years and years, never had any bad experiences until now. I'm astounded by the lack of ability to handle a situation as a manager should. The lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and told me step by step exactly what I need to do fix the problem that I had been having for the last 23 weeks no joke. Unfortunately, it will be kind of a long process, but finally found somebody who knew what they were talking about and could actually give me an answer and step-by-step directions on what to do so to save the lease. I am very relieved at this point that I'm not going to lose everything on my phone! I am horrible with names and I wish I couldn't remember her name, but both my young son and I know exactly who she is when we go back to get our new phones! Wonderful service, and on top of that they were doing a demonstration about the latest iPhones and my son was very excited to be able to sit at the table with the the lady speaking and kept interrupting her to answer questions so I had to apologize to her for that, but she was not the least bit concerned or annoyed at all whatsoever. The Apple Store on 4th Street was my go-to Apple Store when living in Albany (2016 to 2019). I got my MacBook Pro with touch bar in a space gray color, which I named Meson, and my gold iPhone Xs, which I named Neutrino, both here. I also broke the glass on my iPhone 5s, which I named Tachyon, at one point and had the screen repair done here. On all occasions, the workers were helpful and clear in their communications. I typically went with a parking lot north on fourth street a little ways where I had to pay for parking and I purposefully chose off times for my appointments to avoid traffic. Of the aforementioned items I got from the store, only the laptop had problems when I got it new. The touchpad made a clicking sound. If I put the screen of the laptop down, the clicking was not so loud. However, at night it reminded me of the pet hamsters I had growing up and the squeakiness of the wheel as they ran in the darkness. I ended up deciding to wait and see if it got better on its own. It did, but it took a few weeks. Now, a few years later it does not have the clicking sound at all. A different trouble I had with the same device, I could not get the computer to turn on no matter what I tried and whether it was plugged in or not. So I set up an appointment, tried turning it on one last time in the parking lot before the appointment, and it did. The store let me cancel my appointment last minute free of charge. read more

I have a 2021 Macbook Pro with a defective screen that has a black vertical line running from top to bottom. So I went to the Genius Bar. The screen replacement cost was $750. When I pointed out that I did nothing to damage the computer and that the problem was either with the design or manufacturing, I was told that the damage might have been caused by regularly closing the lid without shutting down the machine. This is obviously untrue and, if it were, it would be a massive design flaw. I was also told that the trade-in value for the computer was $0, despite it having a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU, 32 GB of memory, and 1 TB of storage. Indeed, when I checked the trade-in value via Apple online, it was not $0. read more

Deadass the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I work in customer service as well so it's not a point of "the customer is always right", but the workers here are rude as hell and glare at you for asking questions for help??? I was also barely approached by anyone, I was the one who had to come up to everyone to ask.. and they weren't even busy, there were 4-5 employees standing around just talking amongst themselves. I am a 20-year-old college student adulting for the first time... I have several questions to ask and understand about buying a phone and they did not help me once. Genuinely tell me why I went through 5+ people just to ask questions about buying a phone. The first guy who helped me was Bryan, who had decent customer service. I told him my whole situation and he redirected me to someone else. However, the next person, Jen, helped me ONCE, and walked away which is understandable as I asked for some time to discuss with my dad. When I was finally done, she walked around and made eye contact with me 3x but ignored me...like wtf. I had to walk up to people and ask for help again. What was annoying though was that I kept having to explain my situation with them over and over multiple times. The last guy who helped me, Johnnie or Johnny or whatever gave me the strangest and worst customer service interaction I've ever had in my life. He started off extremely unprofessional, trying to flirt with me???? He asked me personal questions and then moved the topic to the Apple Vision Pro, which he asked if I was going to buy. I just said "nah, doesn't seem worth it" and he said to try it out. I asked "oh, is it worth it?" and he proceeded to say "nah, honestly it's not, actually nah i shouldnt say that-- I mean, yeah, you should buy it".. where tf did y'all hire this dude cause is that even allowed to say when you're an Apple employee? On top of that, once my boyfriend came over to help me, he began backhanded-ly insulting my boyfriend. He asked him if he was buying a phone too and what phone he had, and when my boyfriend said no and that he had the 13 Pro Max, this dude johnny said there was so such thing and when my boyfriend asked about the price differences b/w all the iPhones, johnny tried to insult his knowledge. My boyfriend went to his settings and showed him his phone model, which was the 13 Pro Max, and johnny deadass said "well we don't sell it anymore". lol, after that, johnny asked him if he tried the Vision Pro, which my boyfriend bought and returned, but he told johnny "nah he didn't like it." johnny's response: "if you can't afford it it's fine, just say that." I genuinely think this dude Johnny has some fragile masculinity issues. After about an hour of me trying to pay for my phone, I called my dad to explain to him the reason why it was difficult for me to buy my new phone (I spoke it Vietlish so it was difficult to explain) and in the middle of taking a phone call, johnny tried to talk to me and tried to make a decision about my phone for me..? When I asked to give me a minute, he sighed and continued talking to me saying "OK I'm just going to cancel this then." I then looked at him ask said " give me a moment, I'm trying to talk and understand the issue here", Johnny literally rolled his eyes and said "I'll give you two minutes." ...yeah I wouldn't come here again. Clearly some employees were not trained on proper customer service. I'm quite stunned with how low some of the reviews are from other customers because I've only had nothing but stellar service. The only time I've ever needed to go to another location was when my Macbook Pro started acting out and this location was unable to fit me in for an appointment but they were able to accommodate me by scheduling me at another Apple location. I recently visited on my lunch break in need of new AirPods and was literally running on seconds before my next work meeting.
