The ingredients are always fresh, there's an ample variety of food choices on their menu, the prices are fair, the portions are large and the staff is so polite and pleasant. I've lost count of how many times I've been to this venue and even during their rush this place is always clean and tidy. Considering everything is pretty much made to order service is never a problem, the food comes out fairly quickly. After trying a lot of their menu the only thing I wouldn't try again is their coffee, it's just not their forte, opt for any one of their smoothies instead - all awesome. I moved to south beach about 5 months ago, and I've been here several times since. My personal favorite local healthy restaurant. I loved the vibe the second I walked in, and the staff is very nice and attentive. Most importantly, the food options, smoothies, and açaí are absolute quality. Many vegan options, and overall like I said my personal favorite in terms a quick healthy bite. I personally love the #2 on the signature smoothie menu, it's the best way to start my day. The best Açaí in South Florida is here, no other Açaí spot is just as good! Honestly I've tried more than a few bowls to know this. "Peanut Butter Açaí" is the best! Great portions and awesome price , the other places charge more and give less , not to mention that in other places they add so much ice you can't even taste the Açaí as much or at all! I'll admit it: the star rating kept me away. Honestly, I think it's a bit too harsh. Granted, I've only come here for a quick/healthy meal, but I have yet to experience something so awful that it would lead me to write some of the below reviews. I feel badly for both sides of that experience. I think Apple A Day is an example of needing to keep things simple. Come in. Order a juice/smoothie.* Pay. Leave. If you try to add to many other elements in the mix, things get complicated. I am a fan of the Detox B: pineapple, apple, ginger, and mint. It's not as 'juicey' as some of the other options (these are all fruits/veggies I would eat on their own without having to be disguised as something else) but it's nonetheless delicious. The only issue: I've come in before and I haven't been able to order it. As in, the ingredients aren't available. :-/ Yes, I'll agree that that doesn't make any sense at all but it's what I've been told. I went with it. When this happens (it's been more than once), I wind up ordering something that isn't as appealing but... it's juice so... healthy, right? When I have strayed from my ordering system and opted for a wrap, I regretted it. On one visit, I was particularly hungry, so it was a Green B juice (admittedly, the options and juice has changed; AAD appears to be moving away from freshly-made juices to pre-packaged; I don't know if the Green B is still on the menu) and an Ahi Tuna wrap. The wrap was a wrap (as in, 'over'). It was disappointingly bland. I'd hoped the sesame sauce would add a punch but, alas, it did not. The wrap just tasted... cold. Like, there was no discernible taste. The veggies crunched and the protein was obvious... but no taste. The lentil soup that came with, however, was satisfying (if not ground-breaking). I was upset for a minute and then I remembered it was my fault: only order a juice/smoothie. *Fresh-made. Pre-packaged is no bueno. read more

I had gone to the gym and was really hungry. Nothing in South Beach opens before 10am except for Apple A Day. They were open earlier than all of the nearby restaurants. I was a bit apprehensive because of the previous reviews but decided to check it out for myself. I was greeted by a friendly staff member. He gave me the menu. There were lots of vegetarian, vegan, and other healthy options. Another helpful staff member recommended the BBQ tofu wrap . While waiting for my food to be ready I browsed the grocery shelves. Apple A Day caters to health conscious people and provides many varieties of health foods and supplements. The prices are also very reasonable especially compared to "Whole Paycheck" a few blocks away. (thanks Johnny T.!) My meal was delicious, fresh and quite large. It also came with a complimentary lentil soup that was very tasty. I enjoyed my meal in the cute cafe. I couldn't resisit a mini Bunny Cake red velvet cupcake before leaving. If I could give this place zero stars I would. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger and wanted to change it because I didn't like it. When I went to change it Christina the manager (white lady with blonde hair) refused to change my meal because "it was my fault I didn't read the menu correctly" she said " they can't change my food" and I kept telling her I didn't like my meal because it was terrible. She was telling me to "buy another meal" she's was rude the entire time. NO HELP AT ALL refused to make an exception to change my meal. Refuses to give me a refund all I can think of she was a racist white lady and didn't care about her customers needs. When a customer wants to change their item. YOU AS AN ESTABLISHMENT should change their item I've never ever in my 24 years of living have came across this. This is ridiculous. management needs to do better. Unfortunately, the market area has expired foods, dented cans of food, and dusty jars of sauce. I originally found Apple a Day market off a product's website I was trying to track down. I called the owner of Apple a Day and he said that, "They might have the product, but things are really disorganized right now so my best bet was to try in a few weeks." For many years Apple A Day was the place where that happened, despite being filthy dirty, with unattended shelves, disinterested staff, and truly unsanitary behind-the-counter conditions. ...But when I had a hangover, I still went there, and begrudgingly paid my $7 for a juice. I did the Gwyneth Paltrow GOOP cleanse at Apple A Day. I waited in line for 20+ minutes while the person making my drink (without gloves) got my order wrong more often than not. And then the universe shifted and others realized that South Beach was a great market for juicing and health food. And then Apple A day had competition: Jugofresh. Jugofresh charges *at least* 30-40% more than Apple A day for any of its abundant juice offerings, but Jugofresh is clean, tiny (without wasted space to pay rent on, or fill with dirt or back stock like Apple A Day), efficient (drinks take at least half the time I swear), and yet their business is on fire. Apple A Day had every advantage. They were doing business in South Beach first. They are closer to the Flamingo, which undoubtedly houses no fewer than 1,500 brutally hungover partyers every day of the week who would be Apple customers. Yet only after the arrival of Jugo did they renovate in attempt to shape up, yet no effort has been made to get their service standard or staff to improve or, for heavens sake, clean the damn store. This hidden gem packs some of the healthiest and most delicious dishes on the beach. I had the quinoa teriyaki which was to die for. Super flavorful and beautifully presented. Well cooked pieces of tofu surrounded by sautéed vegetables. What is there not to like? The service was helpful in choosing the right beverage(they make their own smoothies and cold pressed juices) The place itself was cute but could definitely be a bit cleaner. Not that it was dirty but the dark floor and drop celling don't give me the "clean" impression. The selection however is fantastic and combined with the good personal attention it makes it a place to come back to over and over again. We ate here every morning while vacationing on South Beach. The service was great. The staff is very knowledgable. The food is fresh and so good. It took a little bit long for the food to come out but I think that's because of the freshness and care they put in to it. The juices were delicious! I frequent this place and I think their food is pretty good. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, which is awesome. Their cold pressed juices are simply amazing, my favorite is the apple spice and the chocolate nut milk. Delicious! Their loco chipotle veggie burger is the best one I've had. Lots of flavor and great consistency. Also you can get it in a quesadilla. I ordered it on a salad once by the veggies weren't that fresh and the salad had no dressing :( They deliver and I order very often when I'm at work. Beware!! They forget the sauces of your wrap pretty much every time, at least that has been my experience 3 times in a row. Falafel wrap with no tzarziki ... Sucks.
