I love iPhone, and will probably always use it, rather than a droid, but the service at Apple Stores always seems to be lacking. They have a million employees wondering around, but no one can help you. They pass you around from employee to employee, then tell you to make an appointment for another day, or wait several hours for a technician to look at your phone..and why is it that every time you have an issue, they want to blame you?? (that you're doing something wrong or did something to break it/cause it to malfunction) This woman was telling me everything I was supposedly doing wrong to cause my battery to take forever to charge, and not hold a charge for very long. She blamed my charger, so I told her I have bought several so it's not the charger. Then she said I probably had the display auto-lock set to "never" so I showed her that is also not the problem. (It's set to 1min) Then she said I was probably doing something else wrong and rudely told me I needed to make an appointment for tomorrow, or come back an hour and 45 mins later, which I can't do. There was barely anyone in the store, which is super rare for any Apple Store, but I couldn't be helped. Just blamed. Lame. read more

Daughter had lemon laptop from Apple and this store - all smiles and hellos when you come in - turned out to be same old corporate crap. The manager wouldn't even come out to discuss; the assistant manager is useless. Has made me completely lose faith in Apple and their products. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. I have spent much time on the internet the past month seeing if anyone has come across this same problem as I have below..And there are many others out there who have had the same thing happen to them . I have spent around 20 hrs the past week talking to Apple reps Apple managers and anyone else who perhaps could help me figure out where someone went wrong with my order of a Iphone 4 32g and I have gotten nowhere ..I had placed a order for a I phone 4 in Aug 20th, and never was sent a confirmation of the placed order to my Email ..Then about 2 weeks later I called back in to see why I was never sent any conf # or order # for the Canadian postal money order I had sent for the I phone, and I was assured by Malery it was received and my phone was on its way, Once again I asked for a order # and never got anything in my e mail ..And now over a month later I have spent the last 5 days talking with Apple rep after Apple rep and managers from 3 different apple numbers Ive been given and still no closer to getting my phone I had ordered over a month and a half ago ...No one I have spoken with can find anything except my address and phone number ...I had even sent in my copy of the money order due to no one having any info on my order, even though I was assured it was on its way over a month ago...Now I have no E mail order # or copy of the money order and no phone and I'm out almost $900 ...I am so sick of this, I have been wasting so much time while at work trying to just simply get my damn phone I paid for and everyone I've talked to just keeps wasting my time .I am thinking now that this must be some kind of employee scam who figured they needed my phone I paid for rather than me . My iPad screen turned pink so I took it to the Apple store. After waiting 2 1/2 hours for someone to look at it, I was informed that it was a hardware malfunction. Nothing I did but a "hardware glitch". There was nothing they could do but I could replace it for $319.00. My iPad was out of warranty by 10 days. C'mon Apple....really....your hardware glitch and you can't replace it. It's an old one so I wasn't looking for a brand new iPad2. I just wanted mine fixed. Nope, nothing they could do. Out of warranty. Seriously!! I could understand if it broke because of user error but this was nothing I caused. The only mistake I made, apparently, was not spending MORE money and getting the extended warranty. I will be spending my money on the Kindle Fire. Thanks for nothing Apple. read more

This is a lousy store, from my experience. Twice it tried to fix my computer and it wasn't fixed. Then a genius told me my broken computer was normal. I took it to the Domain store and was told it was broke and it had broken too many times and the Domain store gave me a new replacement Macbook Pro. I'd stay clear of Barton Creek Apple. read more

BEWARE DO NOT TAKE REPAIRS TO THIS LOCATION. I take my laptop in to be repaired. I get it back and there is a dent in the side of it. Their solution.. Take 1/2 off my $400 repair. Well damaging my laptop isn't worth $200 to me especially since I paid so much for the darn thing not even a year ago. And so ensues the next awful month of fighting with apple customer care and the store managers. The first representative tells me that if a laptop is dropped in store it is replaced no questions asked. So they call up the manager of Barton Creek and asked what happened. He says he doesn't know what happened but he can guarantee that it had not been dropped.... Hmm he doesn't know what happened YET he knows FOR A FACT THAT IT HAD NOT BEEN DROPPED.. so after a long battle they tell me they will not replace my damaged machine BUT they'll fix it! Yay just what I want to do.. Leave it in the unsupervised hands of the destroyer yet again! They first initially set up my appointment for Saturday but they didn't have a correct email so when I called to confirm mark told me they had nothing set up for me... (I'm glad that I cancelled my trip home to see my brother who comes home every 6 months) so the manager calls me about 830 that night to inform me that I missed the scheduled appointment... I know, Mark informed me that Neil the whatever manager he claims to be didn't actually make an appt, said that no such appointment actually exists. Thanks mark... Now I get to spend a quoted time of 2 hours waiting for a repair that would have been unnecessary if they would have been a little more careful handling their customers $1,499 laptops. The quoted 2 hours is now 3 hours and counting... They have no idea how long this could take. I don't really get weekends or days off between school full time then working (at the time 2 jobs) and I'm spending it waiting on my laptop that apple damaged did I mention this laptop is less than a year old? They refuse to replace it. They damaged a laptop that an employee says is designed to be carried and used without a case... That the aluminum outer shell is tough enough to withstand MINOR bumps etc.. This so called manager Neil guarantees that my machine was not dropped but he doesn't know what happened to it. Thanks a lot for taking a big steaming dump on the little guy apple (net worth $624 billion) Way to go. Turned out to be a little over 4 hours. Before this I loved apple. I didn't mind paying the stupid prices because the level of care HAD been top notch. After this experience I'm done with Apple. They treated me like they could completely care less what happened. They just kept passing me down the line. My entire family has abandoned Apple and the extended family had been an Apple family not anymore. I can't wait to switch to a company who cares about their customers. Your customers make you. And even now the machine isn't working like it had been. The worst experience in customer service. I went into the Apple store at Barton Creek mall in Austin Tx. To purchase some accessories for my laptop. I walked in not even once acknowledged making my way through the store. Walked over to the corner of the store where the hardshell cases I stood there for approximately 10 ( yes by this time was keeping time). It was also right next to the employees entrance. Even then I was never asked if I've been helped or acknowledged. I moved across the store to see other accessories I wanted to purchase. I stood there for another 7 minutes waiting. I turned to see if anyone would come over and ask if I needed help but nothing. I made eye contact with several employees, but just as fast on making eye contact they turned around. By this time I was getting frustrated. Once again I moved to another part of the store, for another 3 minutes, by then I gave up walked over to an associate and asked can I speak to a manager. He replied I'm a shift leader, I gave him my experience since I walked into the store. I explained this is bad customer service, might as well just shop online. To his response " I DON'T BALME YOU". Never tried to apologize or see if he could help me. I could understand if the store was busy, but at 7pm on Friday night store was not. I myself have been in customer service for over 15 yrs, and always strive to give the best I can for EVERY CUSTOMER I COME IN CONTACT WITH. It should NOT matter if I was not wearing the modern attire OR not the right shade of skin tone! Before I brought it there the display still worked and I could turn it on, when I got it back the store associates brought it back fixed but said the phone didn't accept the display so it wouldn't turn on and I would have to buy a brand new replacement phone for $299... My first experience with the store was great! Justin and Brittney were very patient and helpful. I had ordered online and didn't know anything about macs or the iPad except that the ipad2 seemed perfect for travel. If according to some of the other posts the Domain store is the better, I feel certain Apple is lacking in their Customer Service and Communication training for their store staff. She went into the store with a friend in complete anxiety attack over the issue, and all the person on the floor would tell her is that she needed to have another Apple device to find it. Made my appointment online. At the door I was directed to another Apple employee. I stood and waited about 2 feet away from him for about 1.5 minutes until he got done working on his Ipad then he "checked me in" (apparently the guy at the door hasn't been trained to do that just yet. Then I was told to stand on the left side of the crowded store and wait for about 10-15 min. Then I was ushered to the "Genius" bar where I was "helped" by Napoleon. He told me that my battery was shot (16 months old with 205 charges) and that I needed to have it replaced for $129.00. He said it shouldn't have died that quickly "just got a bad battery, nothing you could do". Not the fault of the store, but disappointing for Apple. So I said I'd go ahead and replace it. He said "well you can't do it now, you need to either leave it overnight or make back-to-back appointments another day". Fine, he scheduled me for two 15 minute appointments the next day at 2:15. I arrive the next day on time and am corralled again for 15 min by the smug blue shirts. Then I get ushered to my new genius Jud. I told him that I came to get my battery replaced that's why I have 2 appointments. He looks at my computer then tells me they don't have the battery in stock. But he went to check the "manager's office". Nothing there. "Where's you paperwork?" he asks. I wasn't given any by Napoleon the day before, he just scheduled me two appointments on his Ipad. So he checked the store at the Domain to see if they had one. They did so he put it on hold. "When do you want to go up there?". I wanted to get it over with so I said I'd go now. "Well the earliest appointment available is 4:15, will that work?" It's 2:45! They can't make an exception for me since you're store dropped the ball on this? Nope. Well not wanting to be in Mopac traffic for 2 hours coming home I told him to just order one and I'd come back (3rd time) and have it swapped out. "We'll have it in 12-48 hours" he says. So I asked "it'll definitely be here Friday?' (this was a Wednesday). "Well I can't say for sure." So he promised to have them call me when it came in. No apology for the inconvenience or anything! I kept my cool but was furious. A week later and still no call so I went to Compuzone. SO MUCH BETTER. I hope the managers of the Apple store read this. Between my battery dying early and the amazingly bad customer service I experienced I will not be buying another Apple product. (sorry this was so long, but the time you spent reading this would have been waisted waiting on the left side of the Apple store anyway so just go to Compuzone and you'll end up saving time overall, trust me...and you'll be treated with respect and courtesy) read more

I have an IMAC (27-INCH) which that I purchased from the Apple Barton Creek store on May 13, 2011. The IMAC has had very limited use. Last week the IMAC started repeatedly crashing and on July 20th, became stuck on the opening blue screen upon attempting to re-boot. I called Apple and made an appointment to take the IMAC to the Barton Creek Store for repair on July 21st. On July 22nd, the Barton Creek store telephoned me saying that the problem was resolved and the IMAC was ready for pick up. Upon bringing the IMAC home this evening, I was disappointed to discover that the issue had indeed not been resolved. The machine will still not boot-up. I have another appointment at the Apple Barton Creek store at 10:30 AM tomorrow, July 23, returning the IMAC once again for the same problem. For a company of Apple's stature, this thoroughly unacceptable customer service is most troubling. read more

Two weeks ago my highly anticipated iPhone 5 arrived. I was thrilled. Just not for long. Battery dies within hours...without the phone being used. So I went to the Apple store at Barton Creek today to have it replaced. The first person I spoke with was extremely rude, but did set up an appointment for me. At the Appointment I told the guy my phone was a dud, and that with no apps even running the battery would go dead in just a few hrs. No problem, he said. Since it had been less that 14 days since I got the phone I could swap it for a BRAND NEW one, as long as I wanted the same color and memory. Then he tells me to remove anything I have on the phone that I want to keep, because they are wiping the phone clean. So I am at the store trying to mail myself the pictures I want to keep, when he comes back with an agreement for me to sign. Tells me that is basically just saying I am aware I will loose all data on the phone. Here is where Read before you sign comes in. It did say Apple is not responsible for any lost data... but also apple will replace with REFURBISHED or try to repair. When I question why he told me brand new, and now want me to sign that I am willing to accept a refurbished one, his explanation is a refurbished is just about the same as a new one. Told him no, I want a new one, he promised a new one. Then a manager comes and tells me that no I can only get a refurbished one, and that a refurbished and a new one is pretty much the same thing. Now I am hoping my carrier Verizon, can fix this problem because Apple apparently does not stand behind its own product!!!!!!!!!!!! BE CAREFUL in this store. They are frauds. Read EVERYTHING before you sign. Because they will lie straight to your face. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! I've owned an iPhone since the very first model, and own everything Apple. I went into the store for a simple battery replacement of my iPhone 6. My phone was working perfectly before this replacement except for the battery. Afterwards my Touch ID stopped working. I told them at the store about it. They told me it was already not working when they went to fix the battery and because I'd had my screen replaced by a third party, it wasn't thier fault. I explained to them I used the Touch ID in thier store to open my phone for the genius tech. They explained that it wasn't thier problem and it'd be $130 for them to fix it for me. Now the home button on my phone doesn't work at all, making my iPhone essentially unusable. I called support and all they can say is you used a third party screen so too bad $130 to fix something that apple broke when they replaced my battery!!! To sum up, went into the store with a fully functioning iPhone, paid $30 for a new battery and left with an iPhone that now doesn't work and I'll have to pay $130+ to fix what apple broke! read more

My Daughter and I visited the Apple store at 2901 S. Capital of Texas Highway Austin, TX 78746 (512) 347-7888 We went to get her ipod touch fixed because it wont charge. Unfortunately when her Grandparents purchased it for her they were never offered a warranty so it was unknown to us that one was available at purchase. Well now my daughters ipod that she loves dearly will not charge. WE were told we would have to pay to get it fixed. I explained that I felt it was a manufacture defect and that Apple should take responsibility for the repair and also take responsibility for never offering an warranty or Apple care that her Grandparents would have gladly added at time of purchase. They warranty everything when offered. The employees began to become rude, and then standby employees began to mock me and treat me like an imbecile in front of my Daughter and other customers. I became rude back and explained I needed help with this issue, I was then informed it wasn't Apples problem and that maybe my Daughter should take care of here stuff better. I was then escorted out by security because I became angry at the way I was being treated in front of my Daughter and customers. We own 2 Ipod touches an Ipad and a a mac laptop. Acquaintances of mine tell me that this particular Apple Store will only fix it at no cost if one of the employees is your personal friend. How fair is that? Now my wife wants to sell her Ipad for Galaxy just so she wont have to deal with the poor service of the apple store. I'm not sure what my Daughter who the next gen of Apple users is going to think of the Apple product's will continue to buy if this is resolved other wise I wont push your product at the authorized dealership I work at. Vey poor and unsatisfactory service. I was trying to update the safari to the new one last night. It was unsuccessful, and my computer can't even turn on now. The earliest appointment with the Genius Bar is one day later. However, I need to use my mac urgently. So I called the apple store to see if they had other solutions. I was told to go to store and check if there were any availabilities. It sounded like they would try to find a spot for me because of the urgency. The lady on the phone even said something like "see you soon in the store". I went there during my lunch break, but was immediately told that "sorry, no spot available, you have to come back on Saturday night". I mean, seriously, if this is the case, tell me on the phone, so I wouldn't have driven all the way up to the store and wasted my lunch break. I was very frustrated. I tried to talk to the manager about the situation and hoped that she could provide some help with this frustrating situation. Unfortunately, there was no help at all. She didn't seem to care about the frustration and disappointment I was experiencing at their store. Apple products are good. But not this service. Next time when I need an electronic product, I will for sure rethink my options. read more

Very unhelpful and just rude. To make it clear because they don't on their website, your appointment is not a 10 m arrival gap. It gives you an appointment time of 10 m, so for example, it says from 10:50-11. If you are there at 11:01 your appointment is already given away to someone else and you are put at the end of the list! So people who just walked in get to go before someone who made the appointment and planned their day around it. I would've really liked for them to handle it more professionally and with better customer service because I arrived only 1 m after and was not told or made clear that this would happen. They simply told me if I wasn't 1 minute late it wouldn't have happened and that I can make an appointment for the next day! Yeah sure because I don't have anything to do! Not handled well. I'd recommend another location, and to make sure you're there in that 10 m gap for your appt! read more

The absolute worst apple store I have ever experienced. When going in to repair a problem from before that a previous store told me to bring in whenever i have time so that it can be fixed, this store turned me down saying I had "accidental" damage. When asking to speak with a manager, he was extremely rude, using a sarcastic "I understand your frustration, but I cannot change your opinion." You do not need to waste two hours of my time to turn me down for a repair posted into your system. My roommate had the exact same issue. When buying a new iPhone, the manager at this store made him run back and fourth between the Apple store and the AT&T Store until the AT&T manager personally came over to the Apple store to get things in order. To my roommate's dismay, they still had problems setting up a stinking phone that he paid 400 dollars for! Brought the same laptop to the domain and had no issues with the repair and much better service. DO NOT come to this apple store if needing service on a computer. If your computer is not in mint condition (Wow, I wonder why I'm in the store in the first place) you won't get repairs done correctly and promptly. The so called "geniuses" here treat you like you're completely stupid. Sorry I've done more with my life than make $14 dollars an hour working retail since I can't get a real technical job. The only reason I can't touch my own computer to fix is it will void the warranty that Apple so call prides itself in. Waste of time. read more

So, I'm embarrassed to say that after 15 years of using Macs for my business, I really know very little about them. That being said, it's okay because unbeknownst to me, I've had a lot of help all along that I didn't even know I could access. I guess I feel like an idiot - but there's no time like the present to get educated! My friends M.D. and Jordan from Apple Business, at Barton Creek Mall, really saved me today. I did something really stupid (which I won't go into) and they rescued me! I don't know why I didn't even know there was Apple Business program for people who use Apple products in their business. But now that I know about it, I'm really excited that I can see this is a big help to my business, both now and in the future. Oh, and by the way, don't drop a folder with 65,000 files into drop box! It's like trying to load a whole cow into a tiny meat grinder and upload it to the cloud! It can be done but it will take three days! These guys are really smart and can show you how to do a lot of cool things with your Mac that you didn't know how to do and you would otherwise get into a whole lot of mess if you tried to do it without help!!! Nothing is better than walking into the Apple Store, pointing at a brand spanking new desktop and saying "I'll take it!". It was like love at first site. Butterflies, sweats, smiles, and a new bounce in my step. Talk about being on top of the world. The specialist that assisted me was Christian, he took time to ask questions and answer questions and made sure to review everything before I walked out the door. ***He even met me outside to load it in my car, b/c that thing is heavy, and expensive. A combo I don't feel very comfortable with carrying all by myself across a busy mall. Thanks Christian!! That personal touch and customer service made my purchase even more 5-star status. I could not be any happier with a computer --- it's everything I ever wanted in a computer. True tech love story between my desktop and me over here, people. excellent staff & of course excellent staff. the manager that i have had the pleasure of working with (actually helped me immensely) has been mr. tanner. my visit today not only did mr. tanner help me, mr. gilbert was my tech that helped me solve the mystery of the separating screen. my visit in july apple replaced the battery and now the screen is separating from the phone itself. mr. gilbert took the phone and did a ten minute assessment. after doing so, he came back and stated to me that he would be overnighting a new phone. i was shocked to be helped so soon and appreciate that the staff took me in. even that i did not have an appointment. thank you mr. tanner! what i will warm my fellow apple brothers and sisters is the following. ***********due to the iphone 6 release, i strongly recommend that you make an appointment (on the apple website). its a total bottleneck due to those individuals that somehow cannot wait for it to be mailed to them. so they stand outside the apple store and cause disarray for those of us that simply need various repairs and issue resolved by the excellent apple staff. totally unnecessary for this hype and spotlight. after standing in line with them by accident. all of them are vultures selling them on the "black market" and ripping us off. a few "homeless" and vagrants that are being paid to stand in line. hopefully this type of "legal robbery" will end ....i was offered employment when i realized that i was a moron and was in the wrong line. after the dood asked me if i wanted to "make some good money ripping people off" i replied...."no thanks, my integrity is gonna bother me if i do". he then asked me "what does integrity mean"....i replied "my point exactly'! read more

I ordered an Iphone online for in-store pick up. When I got there, they looked really busy, but there were so many employees working that I got assisted right away. When they made the service transfer from my existing phone to my new Iphone, there was some very weird problem where the new phone thought my service provider was Verizon even though I had been with Sprint for many years. The apple employees were stumped and tried for quite some time to fix the problem. It took a long time. I had to leave to go pick up one of my kids from school, then come back and wait some more. Teddy, the apple store employee that helped me, was so apologetic, telling me "this is not what your first Iphone purchase experience is supposed to be like." In the end, they solved the problem and allowed me to pick out a case for free! I was particularly surprised by their customer service with this particular problem because I truly don't think it was their fault at all and even still they took the responsibility and smoothed it over. They also are soooo smart to have kids' Ipad tables that kept my kids 100% occupied the entire time. Great experience despite the time inconvenience. read more

This place is horrible. I love apple products and always loved going to the genius bar when I had problems in the past. I have visited this Apple store twice. The first time was nothing special - they basically said they could not help me in store and sent off my computer. The second time I visited I wanted to purchase the new iphone 6. Full price with applecare plan. I understood the cost and everything - pretty simple process. The person they brought to me was SO RUDE. He got mad when I tried taking my otterbox case off and said he would not help me take it off because he broke his nail last time he took one off. He went on and on about how he had to go to the hospital. It was RIDICULOUS. He got so freaked out by my messing with it that he snapped at me and told me to stop...Then he kept interrupting me while I was trying to say what I wanted to do - trade in old iphone 5 for credit and buy new iphone 6. Then he talked down to me for about 5 minutes then got someone else to talk to me because, as I overheard him telling the other sales person, "i was being difficult." Seriously? I had not even been able to get out ten words with him. This was an easy $700 dollars for them to make and this guy made it so impossible to do anything - let alone talk. So I just decided to leave. Maybe try and go to a different store if you need help. They were inexcusably rude. read more

I called this Apple store to make sure they have the phone we wanted, they said yes, and offered on the phone that I should go ahead and purchase with a credit card to make sure they dont run out by the time I get there. Because I did not want to return to Tmobile to activate the phone after buying it, I asked if they can activate in the store and set it up. It was for my father who is 75 and not all that quick at setti g up new phones. They sais sure, yes. So I go there, stay in what I cant even say is a line, because there is no such thing. You have no idea how many before you, people sitting /standing all over the place. Anyway we wait our turn andfinally get the phone. So I ask the 12 year old looking no-service tech ok could you please activate and set up the phone and he says no, we dont do that here, only if you buy it in the store. I was like what do mean if we buy it at the store? Are we not at the store at this very moment? So he says no, you bought this phone before you came here, thats not considered buying it at the store but there is a T mobile right out here they can do it. I was furious, so whats the difference if you pay for a phone on your way to the store because THEY recommend it, or if you pay for it at the chaotic store?? I knew there was a T mobilr I did not want to go stay in yet another line since i already waited my turn at Apple. This was my second and last time there, its a horrible store, should be named the Apple store of shame. Disorganized, chaotic, customer no service. read more
