New addition to downtown Brooklyn area! This Apple Store is located right near Barclays and it's STUNNING. They thought of everything from fake trees to wood paneling. Staff is a little short handed and the thing to remember is when you walk in there's a man with an iPad, if you want to make a purchase or pretty much need help with anything go straight up to him give him or her your name and they'll call you when it's you're turn. It better you know this then go around looking for help. The selection is insane and the place is SPOTLESS. Interesting useless fact: there is not one garbage can inside the store because apples big on recycling. Other than that there's beautiful benches to sit while you wait underneath the "trees." Staff for the most part is very efficient and helpful once you get passed trying to find someone to help you. It's busy as heck and they need more staff but I think once it's "up and going" it's going to be great! read more

I went to this Apple Store location for the first time recently and it was such a pleasant and great experience. The space is clean and huge. There were two lines outside - one for people with appointments and one for walk-ins. Luckily, I made an appointment with a shopping specialist in which my reservation got lost somehow but they were still very accommodating to me. Upon entering, they make you sanitize your hands. Long story short, I went to the Apple Store at Roosevelt Field Mall because I had a busted mic and they gave me refurbished phone that was even more busted. Literally couldn't turn it on. When I got to the Brooklyn location, I told the Apple specialist, Alicia, about my situation and she was very sympathetic and she helped me tremendously. Alicia was super patient with me as I had to make some phone calls to sort out some details. At the end, she helped me with ordering a new phone and some accessories. She also answered all my questions. My wallet hurt after the visit but I'm not stressed anymore about being locked outside the digital world. read more

This Apple Store is just like me in that it's prettier than it is useful. But we are both really, REALLY pretty, which helps. The lofted ceilings in the narrow, angled room are striking, but the space is simply smaller than most other Apple Stores, which means there's a smaller selection and makes it a bit more difficult to browse at peak times. They've still got the phones, watches, tablets, and more though. I've had mixed experiences with the folks working here. Some are extremely knowledgable/helpful and just as excited as I am that receipts magically print from beneath the display cases, and others make me feel like an idiot for not being able to answer my own questions about Apple products, and are not nearly as enthused as they should be about the fact that I'm dropping hundreds of dollars on a tiny box that will hopefully make my loved ones happy. That said, I'm certainly happy to have an Apple Store I can walk to whenever I need to spend too much money on a gift, converse with a certified Genius, replace the charger that I lost, or just when I need a shoulder to cry on. Please note that they actually frown on making Genius Bar appointments solely for the purpose of crying on a shoulder, but that doesn't necessarily mean you can't do it. read more

This must be the worst Apple Store in the world. This is the short version but the 4 employees at this store that I interacted with basically tried to out do each other in stupidity. They said they would fix my computer in 5 days. Two weeks later I had not heard from them. I called the store, no answer. I called Apple Support and they tried to call the store and also got no answer. Apple support told me to go to the store. I went to the store. The store said that they had sent me an email ... unfortunately the guy at the store who took my computer input my email into the system incorrectly. I have an Apple Account which apparently he should have just had me log into when I dropped off the computer (but for some reason, he did not). My "E" key had stopped working. Appartently it was going to cost $800 to fix the keyboard in my MacBook Pro that was only 3 months old. I was leaving for Paris the next day so I took my computer with me. Made an appointment for the Paris store. Went to the Paris store. They fixed the "E" key for free in 5 minutes. IMO every employee at the Apple Store in Brooklyn should be fired. read more

Ugh! I went to the store for my 5:30 pm appointment (at 5:00 pm since they said to arrive earlier than the appointment time) for a battery replacement for my mom's iPhone 6. I am waiting and waiting and notice that it's about to be 6:30 pm and I have not been called so I go up to an employee who is checking people in to complain and she is looking for my appointment, she finds me in the system and grabs the next tech support person walking by to help me; turns out I wasn't checked in at all -_- . The employee who is helping me tries to make small talk but I am annoyed because I knew it would be a simple drop off and that they wasted my time; it took under 5 mins "paperwork" and all. I made eye contact with two employees while I was waiting, the one who directed me on where to go to be checked in and the one who checked me incorrectly (both of whom looked as if they were wondering why I was still here). Whatever the problem was they should check on that because it's either something wrong with the tech or the person who checked me in. I have been to this store before and it is hard to get assistance even when making a simple purchase. Employees are conversing amongst themselves and not being of much help to customers. I am also confused by the layout of this store, it's so unorganized and confusing (no obvious place to go for appointments without asking someone for help) and I was also confused on why all the employees wore the same color when they usually have tech support in grey or something (everyone was wearing green save for one older woman who wore a grey shirt which was why I went to her initially and she told me where to go). I went in today around 11 to pick up the phone and it is different a lot less people so no waiting. I would suggest coming here if you make it in the morning. I like the Prince Street store way better (even though they never meet their appointment times, but at least they check you in correctly), but in general, Apple needs to re-evaluate their customer service and it's efficiency what's the point of appointments if you can't manage the amount of people given one with walk-ins and etc. read more

I got seriously terrible repair service in the Brooklyn Downtown Apple store several times. (for 3 weeks, I had to visit the store 6 times because of their horrible repair service.) My 27 inches i-Mac had a power problem. No response to turn it on. Right after Picked it up (1st repair), I tried to turn it on. but it was same as before had dropped off. They told me to bring it back. so I dropped my I-mac off again on the same day for the exact same problem. They didn't repair it perfectly. Even they didn't check before giving it back to me. When I picked the repaired item (2nd repair), I required to make sure to check if it worked or not. but the technician in the genius bar who served me really hurried to take the next customer. His attitude was like "waiting line is very long outside. just pick it up and get out here right away." After 2nd repair, I was using I-Mac. The black screen display came apart from the computer....I was sitting right in front of iMac. It faced to my face and was fell off....... it was opened. I could see inside of the I-Mac and the computer was dead. I lost my works I had to submit that day..... I tried to turn it on over and over but the screen was dead. For me, I was really stressed out and not happy for apple not to do their job perfectly. It's very unprofessional and insane. I wasted my time and expense to bring it and pick it up several times. It is 27-in iMac. really heavy, not easy to bring to the store over and over. All my experiences were seriously terrible. I came here last Saturday to replace my battery and ended up being turned away around 4pm because they said they are no longer accepting any one because there was already a long wait. How ironic when they have about 20 sales people on the floor eager to sale, yet only a couple of techies to help with the phone. I was told to come back the next day (which I did) and I was then told, they ran out of batteries so now I ended up waiting over a hour for my turn to order the actually batteries. This is terrible because it meant I had to come back again for the third time. Before coming in, I had to call them and of course to no surprised, I've been waiting for over 45 min for customer service. Once again, Apple customer service sucks all around and now I finally understand what they meant when they said Apple was abusing Chinese workers in China to produce their precious Iphone. Brooklyn, Stand up! The opening of a brand new Apple Store in Downtown Brooklyn drew excited crowds hours before the doors even opened. There are 20 people at this table, 15 at another, etc. The best way to describe how pack it got would be to picture riding the number 4 train on rush hour. This even spilled over to Sunday confirming that Apple still able to generate a strong fan base issue free. You cannot front, Apple knows how to draw crowds. The highly anticipated location is Brooklyn's second Apple Store, and the company anticipates it to be a big hit in the borough. I can honestly say that this 2nd Brooklyn store is my favorite out of the two due to design. It makes me very curious how the new 5th avenue store will look like. It seems like Tim Cook and company are looking to create stores similar to Apple Campus and I love it. The store was packed, but not overly crowded, as staff limited the number of people allowed in the store at one time to make for a more enjoyable shopping experience. This is expected when you visit Apple Grand Opening. So this kind of outcome is not shocking to me. During the grand opening customers that arrived early enough on opening day received a free T-shirt. I can honestly say is sad they only give t-shirts, because it makes Apple cheap in giving real prizes. Why? If you attended Apple 14th Grand Opening, we receive iPods, MacBooks, gift cards... The good memories! Not sure why they changed after late Steve Jobs passed away. I hope this changes before the reopening of the flagship 5th avenue store. Anyway, the new location will offer its typical technical assistance while also setting up workshops for Apple customers. One of the reasons why Apple became successful. Why 3 stars? They canceled my order without notifying me due to the product not available. Time lost is my main reason for 3 stars. I tried to get help from a young Black man with long acrylic nails in the front (wasn't wearing a name tag) and it seemed like they delighted in being rude AF. Same simple, clean and minimalist decor that you expect from Apple. Since this place newly opened, it was buzzing with people. The workers, all dressed in red T-shirts, were equally all buzzing around. The layout for costumer service was confusing at first. I was told to "go to the back" for repair by the first helper at the door. I was expecting to see a dedicated helping section surface but turns out they utilize the whole space to help people. People were just sitting around by plants just waiting on the dedicated worker helping them. Being that it was the holidays, I was given a wait time of 1hr 15-30mn. I had time to jump on the train and get some shopping done all the way on 14st. Came back just in time to receive the text stating they were ready to see me. I would definitely say that the appointment time is accurate. The staff member that I was assigned to was very helpful. He took his time rebooting my phone, staying patient despite its slowness. In the end, I got the answer to what was wrong with my phone and was given solid advice. Big downside: No bathroom! read more

I want to start out by saying I was a loyal customer of Apple for the longest time. My whole family uses Apple and I had an iPhone 4, 6 plus, another 6 plus, and now 8 plus. I also bought a MacBook Pro in 2018 because of how satisfied I was with their product. But March of this year, the screen stopped working. It was not cracked, and the outside of my laptop was in near perfect condition. It never received water damage, was never dropped, and sat on my nightstand for most days. I took it to the Apple store and they claimed it was my fault because there was apparently some blunt physical damage to it. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get it fixed. I decided to overlook writing a negative review because it was a one time mess up. Come to find out... now my laptop dies when the battery is at 26% for no reason. I take it in, and they found no water or physical damage. I have charged this laptop less than 200 times, so it's pretty new. They claimed that because I owned this laptop for over a year, even if the battery defectiveness was not my fault, that I had to pay 200 dollars to get it replaced. I will never buy a MacBook Pro from them again and am strongly considering not purchasing any other products. If you promise high quality products, you should replace them for free if the product doesn't live up to your standards. read more

This location gave my $400+ Apple Watch to an UberEats/Postmates delivery person who claimed to have delivered the product to me but it never came. The email receipt says the product must be handed to a person. Not in the mail room or the front desk either. Called Apple and they had no information on who picked it up, who/where it was dropped off, and when they can deliver a new product. Surprising that such an expensive store doesn't have its own trustworthy delivery service. Update: I called Apple and spoke to an incredibly rude customer service rep named "Kim" who kept repeating herself and couldn't offer explanations. Kim said Apple was offering me a "courtesy" by giving me "expedited" shipping so that the watch is delivered in 7 days. Skip this store if you can. It's consistently provided the worst experience I've had in an Apple Store anywhere in the world. "Service" is as chaotic as other reviewers have noted. There's never a consistent point of check in or acknowledgement, so expect your first 5 or so minutes to be spent awkwardly looking around, hoping to be noticed by an employee that might potentially help you. You may choose to chase down someone who doesn't appear to be currently helping a customer, and they may tell you (as I was told on my last visit) to go find someone else. I don't go to the Apple Store to browse or window shop. 5 out of 5 times I've visited this store in the past 2 quarters have been to make a major purchase--meaning I've walked in the door hoping to drop money on what I want and see my way out, nothing more. Each time I've done this I have had to chase someone down. I didn't need help, repairs, explanations--I needed to exchange my money for a specific Apple product that I already knew they had in stock. It's amazing that they turn any real revenue at this location at all, considering the hassle I've dealt with to simply walk in and make a purchase. I've only continued to return because the idea of schlepping an iMac from USQ or World Trade all the way to Prospect Park seems riskier than the headache of dealing with ineptitude at this location. read more

Well the caveat of going to Apple Store is knowing that it's 50/50 when it comes to repair of iPhone. My phone wouldn't charge and seemed like it was charging port. Checked it over with a toothpick. Even purchased new fire wire but too no avail. The charging bolt would not appear. What too do? Go to Apple Store and spoke to Genius Bar rep. Well first thing he said after I explained it might be charging port. Apple doesn't do repair. Hmm really I said to myself. So Apple doesn't do repair. But will more than likely get you to purchase new iPhone. Rep checked my phone and when I plugged it in on table the power level started to climb. Glad I had patience and didn't purchase anything. Because I went home and eventually the charger started to work correctly. Service was fast and friendly. Was quite satisfied. But Apple has really dropped a few notches on my radar for new purchase. Left the house early to make sure that the half and hour commute from the other side of Brooklyn won't end up to being late with traffic on Sunday. Get there 20 minutes earlier. Had the wife park the car to make sure I won't be late by driving around the neighborhood to find a parking. (no handicap parking available) They would CANCEL the app. otherwise. Stood in line, made me move to the other one, guy whispered in the other one ear "he's early 20 minutes". Have a cane due to a spinal surgery and could not stand 20 minutes outside in the cold. It was easy to check in and it only took about an hour to repair the phone which was ready when I returned at the indicated time. I made an appointment at this location at 12:15 pm on July 17 (appt window 12:15 - 12:30 pm). I arrived at 12:17 pm and was subsequently checked-in. At 12:50 pm, I checked with the person who was managing the line and asked him why my name still wasn't being called. He said, "someone will eventually call your name. We only have one specialist working". Then I asked him what's the point of making an appt if you guys can't let people in on time. He rolled his eyes and said you just need to wait here. What attitude is this??? Also clearly they have more than one specialist working. If you can't manage lines, then you better find out better ways to explain to clients or make adjustment to appt policy. Terrible experience!!! read more

An employee just compared their Genius Bar "same Day screen repair" appointment list to an Organ waitlist...yes. In fact, a same day screen repair appointment is not an appointment at all. It's an opportunity to speak to a technical specialist about possibly fixing your phone same day. "Just like if you were to need an organ transplant, you put your name on a list, but there is no guarantee you'll get one." I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one. Absolutely absurd....
