Came here on a Sunday afternoon because I needed to return a charger I bought by mistake. The Apple store was packed when I walked in. It was so disorganized. I didn't know where to go so I just walked to the back. I wanted to find a sales associate to help me with my return but every sales associate seem to have a partner(another sales associate) they were talking to. Talking as chit chatting / gossiping. I went to the laptop section hoping the two men working in that area would help me out but they just continued on with the conversation. So then I walked to the Apple Watch band section and finally the two lady helped me out. One of the lady was not able to do my return so the second Lady helped me out. The lady who helped me out had a nose piercing and was wearing a Apple Watch with pink wrist band. She helped process my return quickly. She was also really nice and enthusiastic. I am just amazed where Apple store ( Brooklyn Downtown in this case) find people like a person who I spoke on a phone now (march 4 2022, around 4:30 ). I hope, this conversation was RECORDED for TRAINING purpose ( how to talk to customers ). She said he name is Luchia or Lusia and she said she is manager. I initiate a trade- in my MAC in beginning of December, filled in some paper on line. Then came to the Brooklyn Store with my Mac. A Store didn't have a new one. They order it on line for me. I got a new one on December 30. I was told by employee of Apple that I can my old bring any time. I had 3 surgery since, forgot about computer , and I have no idea about my time frame. This person who I spoke today told me It was 7 day, but I didn't know. I ask her what I have to do. Do I have some options ? Maybe nothing , but as a "manager" she is could say something except "recycle it"..., She was so agitated, so irritable, talking non stop..., just many time said : it is a policy and I wasting her time and wish me good evening and hang up a phone... Great experience! Employees here are super down to earth and warm. They always help me out with my iPhone issues. No matter how stupid it is. I came in with some stupid issue with my phone. It wouldn't turn on and for the longest time I thought it as broken. It was also super slow before it not turning on. So I came in and got it fixed and worked with this nice guy named Brennen. After having a disastrous experience at Sprint, I came to Apple regarding an issue with an iPhone 6plus. Since I didn't have an appointment I had to sign in as a walk in. During the wait to speak with someone I approached by a Apple sales rep to assisted me products I was interested in. The sales rep was very knowledgeable about the products answering any and all questions. I purchased my boss an iPhone 8, a screen protector, a case, and AirPods for myself. The sales rep stayed by my side the through the entire transaction, evening when I was waiting for my boss to respond to text. Sorry I can't remember his name but he was patient and understanding. After my purchases I realized an hour had passed and I still wasn't called by an Apple tech regarding the damaged phone. My total wait time was one hour & thirty minutes. Once the tech called & looked at the phone I was immediately told it was a defect with the iPhone 6plus and the phone will be swapped on a warranty exchange. The entire process took less than 15 minutes. Had I done what Sprint I would have paid for a new phone. Happy I went to the Apple store instead. I would strongly recommend you make an appointment before coming here if not you maybe be waiting a long time. More sitting is needed for people waiting. The location is perfect, it's across the street from the Barclay Center, Atlantic Mall, and several restaurants. The store was clean and the staff was nice. read more

If your idea of a retail experience is waiting for hours to hand over $1000 for a metal rectangle, this is the place for you. As you walk into the Apple Store you will be ignored by approximately a dozen employees in Apple shirts. They are everywhere. They cannot help you at all. At least, they can't help you beyond pointing to a place in the store where you should stand patiently until somebody who is willing and able to accept your $1000 can attend to you. As you glance around, you will notice other customers staring forlornly into the middle distance. These are the customers who arrived minutes, hours...perhaps weeks before you, still waiting for someone who can help them. As you read their faces, you'll get a glimpse of what your future holds. It turns out that of the dozens of Apple employees in the room, only approximately two can do anything remotely resembling customer service. In this way, the Apple Store is kind of like a bar with 30 barbacks and two bartenders. Sure they COULD get you a beer, but that's the bartenders' job, and anyway the barbacks are idly drying glasses so you'll just have to wait. At the end of it all, if you're patient and had the foresight to pack a lunch for your wait, you'll be rewarded with a visit from one of the two helpful employees. If you're lucky, they might just have what you need and accept ridiculous amounts of your hard earned money for the privilege of owning a glowing screen that you can stare at the next time you are marooned in Retail Hell. I've been here twice so far, including today. An Apple Store across from the LIRR that I occasionally frequent when I'm in the area or taking transit elsewhere from here is so convenient. While I've noticed the several negative reviews, my experience here-twice over-hasn't been negative. On busy days, yes, signing in is required, as it virtually daily at the other NYC locations. To save time, purchase the item that you need to pick up on the Apple Store app so when you pick it up at the store that you choose, you'll have no wait. The exception is when you have to exchange items like charger cords, which I must do every 3 months, in the case of my portable charger cord. read more

Today is the long awaited day... the Apple store is finally open! No more having to trek into Manhattan for Genius Bar help or for the next apple product. Just steps away from Brooklyn's biggest transportation hub (and our apartment) is a sparkling new apple store! The store is very much like the others with its minimalism and modern look. I hope they will offer classes because even years of being a MacBook/iPhone/now Apple Watch user- I am still learning new tips and tricks. The space is great and even has a few trees indoors...nice touch! You walk into a sea of red... employees wearing red shirts eager to help you with whatever you may need. Today was a bit crowded- but it didn't feel claustrophobic at all. The floor to ceiling windows allow copious amounts of natural light. There was even live music today as part of the opening day celebration. Thank you Apple for making your way to our neighborhood! We are very happy to welcome you to Downtown Brooklyn. I had an appointment to get my iPod looked at for some technical issues I was having with it. This place is always so crowded I never understood why. I had to check in then was told to wait under a tree with seating. They looked busy but I guess people come there to charge their devices and try other Apple devices. When the time finally came for someone to help me with my ipod much to my disappointment I was told there was nothing they could do for my iPod but I can recycle it for a 10% discount towards a new one REALLY Apple. I had the worst experience with "Joe the store manager at the Downtown Brooklyn location". I have an iphone 11 that was purchased in December 2020 and is still under warranty. The screen started to glitch on Friday so i took the phone in to that apple store on Sunday at 10 am when the store first opened. I was greeted by a kind apple employee, Taylor, who ran all the tests for my phone, said it was a hardware issue, then said that since my phone is under warranty I would get a replacement free of charge. Since my phone was not backed up he told me to go home and back it up and come back to pick up the replacement within the next five days. I left at noon and was back at the same day at at 5 pm, 5 hours later. When i went to pick up my replacement phone & do the swap (5 hours later on the same day), Taylor had already left and I was then informed that I had to pay out of pocket $400. I requested to speak to the manager and was met by "Joe the store manager at the Downtown Brooklyn location" (since he refused to give me his full name) and that is when everything went downhill. He refused to listen to me or hear what I had to say and was yelling at me in the middle of the store. I have never felt so disrespected or humiliated my entire life. He accused me of lying claiming that I was told I had to pay when I initially came in 5 hours earlier. He also proceeded to tell me that I tampered with the phone which is not true. When I asked him to inspect the phone himself or to take it to the tech guys in the back to see if it was tampered with he refused. He told me I needed to take ownership of what I did, while he refused to take ownership or honor the warranty or what was discussed earlier with the Taylor. I am a muslim female who is veiled and I have never felt so degraded, attacked, insulted or discriminated against my entire life. After multiple calls to customer service i was advised to go back into the store and hopefully run into Taylor again. I hesitated a lot since I knew how uncomfortable I would feel going back to such a horrible place run by a horrible manager. Luckily, I did run into Taylor who had heard of what happened the previous day, apologized and stated there was a "misunderstanding". He stated the store tried to call me yesterday to come back in however I did not receive any missed call from the store. In the end I received a new phone as is covered under my warranty. "Joe the store manager at the Downtown Brooklyn location" was the most rude, disrespectful, condescending, demeaning, racist manager I have ever dealt with my entire life. I bought a phone on the Black Friday deal (nov/26/2021). I have chosen the one day delivery. I was at home all the time waiting for the delivery, but then I received a message that the order was returned by the Uber driver. I called the uber drive which didn't answer the call. I called the apple customer service at the same time I had the return message (nov/26) and reported the problem, the customer attendant called the uber driver which didn't answer the call also. So the apple attendant told me a should wait for a 5 days refund, wich didn't make sense for me, because having another delivery was better and more intelligent then waiting a a 5 days refund. I called the customer service for consecutive days to check on my refund. On the sixth day I called to understand why I didn't receive my refund. They told me that the refund did not start automatically, and now they were going to start it, and It would take another five days. So to resume all the history, I bought a one day delivery phone, and now I will have to wait 14 days in total to receive my refund. What a shame. And the customer service treat me just like another number on their system, they don't understand that their company committed a sum of mistakes with me and can't consider my case as something exceptional. I hope what had happened with me does not happen with thousands of other customers. Is someone going to read this and do exactly nothing to resolver my problem? I wish I could give 0 starts. No one works at that place. We came in and the place was a hot mess. No one greeted us or asked if we could use any help. We knew what we wanted, so after doing 10 circles around the store we came back to the person who stood upfront. He rudely said that we should of register with him first if we need help. Mind you, you don't have a sign anywhere, so how should we know. He pointed to the third table and said that someone will be with us. OK. Lady comes in few minutes later and grabs representative that was heading our way while we're still waiting for someone to buy the phone. We wait and wait and see two employees at the second table doing absolutely NOTHING. So I stared at them and the front guy gave them a gesture and yelled at us for not being at the table he pointed out. How in this world would I know what table you pointed to if you were flagging the window, and the closest table to it was the third one. Finally, 30 minutes after our arrival, the Asian guy with glasses approached us. I've explained that I wanted to do financing through my Apple Card. He said it was impossible and that I needed to pay upfront and connect with they customer service later to do financing. Or I need to order a pick up. So I asked him if I do a pick up, could he process the order now since he was already helping us and there were no other customers who were waiting for help. He rudely shouts "NO" and that the phone will be available when it will be available. Are you kidding me? I've been at your stupid store for half an hour and you can't do anything? Came here at a busy time of day after work and needless to say it was crowded, some lady's kid was running around screaming, and they were no longer taking appointments. My friend needed to get a new phone battery, so he decided to walk-in the following morning, as they were also completely booked for appointments in advance. Fine. But tell me how and/or why he had to wait an hour and a half just to be told that the store didn't have any phone batteries in stock? And that none of the other local branches in all of New York had any in stock either. If somebody comes in for a new battery, you should be aware of whether or not you have any, so that if you know you don't, just say so and save everyone a whole lot of time. Furthermore, they were unable to check and see if the store in Philadelphia, or any region outside the New York area, had any batteries in stock. You would think that having the ability to communicate something as basic as stock items between branches should be a no brainer, but here we are. read more

Checked the website to see if You could just walk-in to the Brooklyn location to buy a New laptop and Phone. This is what the website said "We're open and look forward to welcoming you. Shop by walking in, reserving a one-on-one session with a Specialist or buy online and pickup in store. Get Genius Support in store or by making an appointment." Get there and the "Support/Geniuses" behind the Velvet rope with the headsets on tell me they do not accept walk-ins no matter what the website says. Store is straight up THIEVERY!! After spending $1000 on a new iPhone, the phone's "lightning port" stopped working. Even though the phone is less than 1 year old, and falls under warranty, they are telling me I need to pay $399.00 because they consider that part "physical damage." The phone has been in a case since day 1, and had never been dropped or had a screen crack, ever. This is OUTRAGEOUS. Store DOES NOT HONOR THEIR OWN WARRANTY. While small I really enjoyed my time here. The space is vertically huge. I made an appointment on thanksgiving for my computer and was able to make an appointment for Friday. After checking in, I got help in less than 10 min. My guy Dylan was fabulous. He pulled diagnostics and whatnot in a few minutes and did a full restore. Thankfully I use time machine pretty regularly so I had my shiz backed up and had no problems. The lady across from me had a 5yo computer that never was backed up that might take some time!!! Employees have no idea how to run apps on their products such as garage band. I spoke with three different employees with a basic question about an app. I received the following answers "Did you try googling it?" "You could sign up for one of our creative classes" "We don't offer help with apps as part of our apple service" WHAT!? went in to find out why my phone wouldn't charge. the guy (who was perfectly nice, no complaints about that) took like 15 minutes fiddling with my phone trying to clean it to see if it was just lint in the charging port and eventually concluded the port itself was broken, and id either need a $350 repair or a whole new phone. took it to a third party place the next day and they cleaned the lint out and got it working again in five minutes. either they don't know what they're doing here or they're trying to just get you to buy a new phone, either way just go third party if you need something fixed and you're not under warranty lol read more

Until they text me that they are ready to attend me. The person who attended me, today was Trevor he was very nice and telling me everything he was doing. It takes him an hour or less to unlock it. Every time I would check in with someone I was being told 10 more minutes, 20 more minutes, etc until I looked up and it was basically almost 5 PM. My appointment was for 1:30 and I was early. Normally I DON'T have patience but today I made an exception and it didn't work out in my favor. Highly unacceptable and not the type of service I expect from an Apple store. I didn't want to take my frustrations out on any of the employees because I didn't know whose fault it was but everyone could seem to careless and kept telling me to wait just a bit longer. My 16 year-old daughter made an appointment for a repair, went with her laptop and dropped it off to have the battery tepla. Not until she had her receipt was she told that someone over 18 had to be there to pay at pick up (she has her own debit card). I had to leave work, get in the car and pay for parking to get it. Absolutely moronic policy and because everyone who works at this location is barely 18 themselves, I couldn't even get a satisfactory answer on what this policy was based.
