The Apple store in Burlingame is by far one of my favorite locations to visit in town and it usually does not disappoint. However during my last visit a technician at the Genius Bar named Ted offered me the worst Apple experience possible. He is rude, arrogant, acting as if he is superior than other, and ultimately does not give a damn about anything. However he does look like Einstein with that hairstyle he rocks but the genius resemblance ends there. This one star review goes to you, Ted the Genius. p.s. Hard to know where to begin. I live four blocks from the Burlingame store and - in the interest of full disclosure - was warned several years ago (by a young man who worked there) to head to HIllsdale instead. He was clear: Burlingame is overrun by poorly managed, rude, entitled brats and DEI hires who are taught to take advantage of senior citizens. I will NEVER set foot in that store again, under any circumstances. We special ordered a fully loaded new laptop as recommended by the I.T. director of one of my companies. After hours of finishing the necessary transfers and remapping the keys, the space bar immediately began to fail intermittently. I called the tech line, who ran through the same solutions and checks I did (well familiar after decades as an Apple loyalist) , who made an appt for an hour later in Burlingame. One of the kids at the store ran a quick diagnostic and showed me the readout found the keyboard was faulty. Okay, things happen - I got a faulty board a few years back and it was an easy switch out. Now, here is where the fun begins: I needed it back for an upload with our tech people by Thursday - it is Monday when it is sent out. Two days later I get an email saying the tech people cannot duplicate the error so need more time. WTF?? A diagnostic was already run on my brand new $5,400 customized laptop! I go back to the Burlingame store and explain to the same kid that they need to contact the repair people and let them know the intermittent problem has already been identified and all we need is a new keyboard. 25 minutes later, we are still waiting for the "manager" to give permission for the kid who checked in the computer to contact repair. What? I told both of them, "You have all my information, how about I leave and you just put in the notes all it needs is a keyboard?" No dice - and my sick wife (long covid vertigo) is leaning on a parking meter outside waiting endlessly. I pull the kid aside and tell him quietly "This is the dumbest fuckin' thing I've ever seen, I've been here almost 30 minutes" and would he please just jot down the repair number off THEIR email and let them know? Now, up marches up this nasty young lady, who proceeds to upbraid me from head to toe about using foul language. I left the store, gathered up my wife and finally got a warm body the next day to contact another manager . . . . . . I get the computer back from repair on Saturday and guess what? THEY WIPED THE ENTIRE COMPUTER HARD DRIVE. WHAT???? After hours and hours of data transfers and downloads? I tell the kid at the store: "Wait a minute, here is my old laptop, you will be open eight more hours today - how about redoing the transfer so I can have my tech people reload our emulation software Monday? I'll remap the keys and the rest myself." The response: "Sorry, we'll just put you in the repair queue here and it could take 72 hours to turn it around." Remember, I just spent $5400, eight days and HOURS of transfer and remapping to be back at square one. Believe me, nobody cares. Every other interaction with Apple my entire life has been invariably helpful and full of options and solutions. Just my luck to finally give the Burlingame store a try (I usually head to HIllsdale) and discover it is run by a bunch of snotty, unhelpful juveniles, taught only to repeat company propaganda and - instead of finding solutions - take every opportunity instead to try to upsell and abuse every aging sucker who walks in the door. That kid who warned me was right, God help anybody over the age of 60 who walks in there. You'll never find more disrespectful, smug children anywhere. I strongly suggest Yea Mac repair (one block away) on Primrose Ave - or head to HIllsdale or Stonestown. This store is a cesspool of bad hires and horrible management. read more

Why would you give this place a 5-star I've gone to the store twice in two days I've gone to the one in San Francisco twice and they just leave you there, we were there for 2 hours The Other Place were there for 2 hours which is kind of different from Sprint. I didn't know you when you make the appointment they have different people for different things,so it could be a little bit confusing we were there within 7 Minutes of our time and as we walked in she goes oh we are just about to cancel you for what being 7 minutes late? it's not like we're coming within five minutes were coming 30 minutes away you got to give customers time. You make us sit there for 15 minutes then you decide to come over oh hell no what kind of customer service is that? you weren't very helpful it was your fault for breaking the button on my cousin's cell phone, and then you don't take responsibility and then you want her to pay you $200 for another phone??WTFF! I asked if you want her to pay for a refurbished then Melissa came back with rude comment no Apple doesn't sell refurbished phones like I even know what the hell phones you sell most companies will give you a replacement refurbished phone. I don't know anything about Apple so don't come off as rude like I know and you weren't very helpful Melissa. I would go off on people but I have to more a little bit more assertive when I'm with my family,but if I'm by myself I would Chew you a new ass especially because you guys were rude. When does that ever happen especially on a day when the iPad came out? Can't go wrong with any Apple product. Neither with this store. Great customer service. Very courteous and helpful. Came in for the iPad and they made it super easy to purchase. I was already psyched to get in line and wait. This branch has a good system going from the get go. Our two PC notebooks are currently dying a slow death and are just about on life support. We had contemplated in the past buying a Mac, but just could not justify the extra $. I allllllmoooooost pulled the trigger this past November and was *this* close on buying a new Mac desktop, but went Dell instead. But now with recent laptop issues I thought about it long and hard and made the financial decision to go Mac. And boy oh boy am I glad I did! I stopped in at the Apple Store in Buringame and told myself I was just here to "look" and play around on the Ipads. But those shiny Macbook Pros were calling my name so I made a beeline towards the nearest one. I was immediately greeted by a sales associate and was offered his assistance. I took the opportunity to ask questions and after 15 minutes I was sold. Truth be told, he really had me at "10 hour battery life", but I let him ramble on a bit more than he had to. The purchase process was a breeze and not once did I feel pressured or felt like I was being up sold. And even before he processed my credit card he asked who I worked for to see if I was eligible for any discounts, which I was and saved an additional 6 percent on the Mac and 12 percent on Apple Care! A lot can change in nine years. No signs, no nothing, telling you where to go if you need customer service. Now there's no longer even a desk or counter that you can go to: the store is configured so that it's just a crowd of people milling about a whole bunch of wooden tables like you're in a half-finished IKEA, and it takes you a while to work out who the Apple employees are because they're wearing T-shirts and mingling with a crowd. I realize this type of experience isn't unique to any one Apple store, but I absolutely hate it. I'm just glad I 1) had a still-valid warranty on my laptop and 2) called the general Apple customer service line before I went in, as I get the strong feeling that my experience wouldn't have been so straightforward otherwise. read more

Today Andrea helped me with my trade-ins, and she was fast, efficient, absolutely pleasant to work with. Though I came the day before and it was a total disaster, very disorganized, had to wait for an hour, still didn't get any help and had to leave empty-handed. Short story: This place has "D&D" rules. You roll the dice based on the minute, hour, day, month, year, season or iDevice release season that you approach. My best suggestion: if your customer service experience is poor, just go back again. At some point the dice will land in your favor. I love apple. This is my second bad experience in the burlingame store. I know it is a difficult store with high client demands. I get it. I also pay a premium price for My apple products and always buy extra coverage. 2:30 appointment still waiting at 2:45. I've been skipped by three other people Who did not have appointments and asked To stand aside until someone comes to get me. My issue is my iPhone 5 battery is failed and is on recall. Interesting because 2 months ago I had a diagnostics run at this same store and was not advised my battery was in recall status. I had to find it out myself online. When I mentioned this to the store rep I received a wry smile. Really? By the way still waiting it is now 2:48. Look at the pics, not a packed store. I counted 11 employees. Who knows who how many are working in the back behind closed doors. Ok now 25 minutes have passed I am outta here. walked out. WOW! I expect this at discount stores. WOW! My most recent appointment is truly the last straw that broke the camel's back. I came in for my scheduled appointment with a "genius", and a lady told me to sit down and wait for someone to assist me. I waited 20 minutes, and she came back and told me that they were very behind schedule and someone would be with me very shortly. Another 10 minutes passed by, for a whopping 30 minute wait after my SCHEDULED appointment time. The worst thing is, I could clearly see the associates just standing around the store. They are not resupplying inventory, helping customers, or anything. Literally just standing. There was even an associate in the back near the large screen, working on creating music. Seriously? How hard is it to see me sitting in a chair twiddling my thumbs, waiting for service. It just seems insincere for the employees to act this way, like, where's the excitement to help the customer out? Nope, they're all just standing around. And my genius had the nerve to tell me that he was so busy, and that he had to be pulled from somewhere else to assist me. First off, I don't think it's appropriate to tell me that, I'm not the one managing the stores logistics. You should have that conversation with your manager. Second, are you trying to guilt trip me, because i scheduled this appointment days in advance, it's not like I barged in and demanded to be seen. He was obviously in a bad mood to talk to me, even though I was interested in talking about the new Apple products just launched, like I was keeping him from his other work. Seriously, I have had it with this company and their awful service. You no longer create the best phones and tablets, and after hearing about shenanigans such as still no SD memory slot and the plethora of extra cables (which only work with Apple products!) I need to connect my Apple device to other devices, Apple has sent me a clear message that (1) do not listen to customers needs and (2) they do not care about customer service. I'm planning to retire my iPhone X as soon as it loses its usability, which I assume will be very soon, as I am anticipating Apple slowing down my phone as they did in 2017 to "preserve battery life". This was My first time visiting this Apple Store in Burlingame, CA. First thing that I noticed was there were so many Apple workers just standing around. I walk in and nobody was by the door. They were all chatting with each other, joking around so I went by myself to look at what I came in to purchase. I found what I needed and started looking at the Upgrade Options on it. Unfortunately I couldn't really focus because there was a seemingly homeless guy standing next to me on an imac computer blasting music for the whole time I was there . . even after I left Nobody said anything about that to him. Not even the manager with the other workers that were standing very close to him and me. Later I found out that he comes in all the time and just plays his favorite songs for as long as he wants but never buys anything. This is bad for business and a bad look on the store when a new customer, purchasing customer comes in to buy something but can't really get stuff done because of the loud blasting music and No manager does anything. Now the main reason why I have one star for this store is because of how I was treated by the manager. I had Bad allergies that day so I decided to wear a mask coming into the store. Anyway after struggling (Loud music Still Playing on computer next to me) with figuring out all that I needed to make the purchase on the computer, I turned around and saw the manager and waved her to come and help me. I couldn't yell across the room because my Throat was hurting so she couldn't hear me Nor could she read My lips because I had the mask on. Therefore I had to wave her down or wave her over to come help me. She then replies SAYING EVERY WORD VERY SLOWLY AND CONDESCENDINGLY - "OH . . DO . . YOU . . NEED . . HELP . . ?? As if I was handicapped or mute. She then says "No, I don't like being called over like that". So I proceeded to find someone else to help me but By then I was sooo put off from buying anything from this store so I just left. This manager's name was MARLEE. Not sure if that is the right spelling Lol. I don't appreciate being Disrespected like that. And she SHOULDN'T JUDGE anyone that walks in thinking he/she has money or doesn't have Money. It's never the guy with a suit that has the money but instead it's the guy with the beach shorts and Flip-Flops that owns the Mega yacht. Next time I will just send my assistant to buy my laptop . . Me and my wife frequent the store simply because it is 1 not in the city, 2 never really packed in there, 3 there is usually sun in this area and 4 the internet speed here is amazing haha on the last point, oh and 5 parking never really difficult. service here is always so so havent really had to to talk to one of the geniuses so really havent been able to grade em, wife usually buys trinkets here more of the iphone cases then anything else, me more or less purchased just audio cables that really didnt work that well for the car. good spot to visit when walking in the area, if not for accessories go in for the internet speed, finish up that yelp review here of that restaurant you just ate at or even that cigar you just bought down the street, I dont know wut type of service lines they got out there but it is way faster then any other wifi areas anywhere even at work and where I work I know they got T1 lines still way faster for download and uploading haha read more

Limited Apple store appointments. They have lines marked out front along the store for social distancing. Those lines for some odd reason look a lot closer than the lines I see at Trader Joe's. Get there early because you have to line up. They have to do temperature check on everyone going into the store. Once in the store... anxiety set in because there were a lot of people in the store. Not sure what their limit on the number of people inside is but I am pretty sure there were more than 30 people. Probably closer to 40 plus including employees. They still set you up at a table with a person on one side of the table and another person on the other corner diagonally. The person across from me had 2 people helping him. We were early and ended up waiting 20 minutes plus. Hard with a baby who cannot wear a mask. All I wanted to do was change out a cord under warranty. Took a long time to be seen for something so simple. Also I would hope they take into consideration for people who have young children who cannot wear masks but that's not the case. Took a bit to get the new cord exchanged. Apple has a new policy that they won't cover your cord if if breaks a certain way. Mine exposed the wires and shocked me. Have Apple care as well that's still valid. He switched it out but said they wouldn't cover that because it looks like wear and tear. Over the time I was there, I did not see anyone cleaning surfaces even once the gentleman across from me was done with his Genius Bar appointment. Only saw the guy helping me wipe his own iPad. Employees were wearing masks but one guy was leaning on the table that I was at, across from me taking to the customer with his mask pulled off. Later he would walk around with his nose exposed and come back and take his mask off to talk to the same customer who was an elderly man. Not a good thing. Think that management needs to tell their employees how to wear their masks properly because they aren't wearing it effectively to protect people around them. No employees wearing gloves either. I don't know about the other services they offer, but the Genius Bar here is awesome. I came in here to discuss a problem with my iPhone and they swapped it out after I had explained that it shouldn't have the same battery life as my boyfriend's 3G iPhone that's almost a year old. My boyfriend has come here several times to get his MacBook serviced - it's still under warranty and they have always been very helpful. He also got his iPhone headphones swapped out because they were falling apart after less than a year. We've never had a problem and we'll continue to patronize them. The staff are always friendly and helpful at this location and it's always busy. Genius Bar = 5 Stars. The selection here is a little bit lacking compared to some other stores, but then again, it is a small store. I've never purchased anything here but I'm sure I'll have the same service should I go here. read more

I am happy that there is now an Apple store in Burlingame. This location is like every other Apple store, crowded and busy. Every time I have come in, the people helping me have always been knowledgeable and friendly... and that is why I have given 2 starts. My last experience here has lead to a series on unfortunate events... 1. I dropped my phone off to have the battery replaced. 2 The find my iPhone function was turned off. 3. When I picked up my phone, no one mentioned to turn this function back on. 4. I promptly misplaced my phone. 5. It was not possible to recover it. 6. I had to put my iCloud account in "recovery" mode. 7. My iCloud account was not recoverable. 8. I lost both my phone and all my contacts / iCloud data. I went into the store to see if they could help me, and asked to speak to a manager. The manager sent the sales person back to say there was nothing they could do to help me and suggested I call Apple support. Apple support basically said, sorry there's nothing we can do. It sucks to feel like you are a dedicated customer, (I have purchased MANY Apple products, over MANY years,) and not to be appreciated by the business where you spend your hard earned cash. This experience has left me feeling like they don't care about my business or the horrible experience I have had as a direct result of their lack of customer communication. Last week I stopped by this store to make an appt to replace my iPhone battery. Today I show up early and wait in line to check in. Then I wait 15 mins past my appt time for my appt. The Apple tech runs diagnostics on my phone and THEN tells me the batteries are on back order. * You could have told me upon check in * You could have told me before running diagnostics * *Best scenario of all: you could have sent me an email notifying me that my battery is on back order so I don't waste my time coming to your store for no reason! Yes I complained but I'm also appalled at how the tech clearly didn't care about my inconvenience--or me the customer at all. Finally, when YOU are 15 minutes late for an appt that I must be on-the-dot-punctual for, you don't say, "Thank you for waiting." You say, "I'm sorry I kept you waiting." read more

I stopped at this store on the way back from SFO to SJ because my store at Valley Fair was closed. This store is right in downtown Burlingame. It's a big store and not very busy on a weekday night. The staff working was friendly and helpful with my return. It was hassle free and as easy as can be. This is an Apple store and so it's consistently like Apple. I would recommend this store over others (like Valley Fair) because it's not nearly as busy as other stores are. read more

I made an appointment to have my iPhone 6 battery changed a week in advance. I showed up on time for my appointment and waited at the "genius" bar for a tech for an hour after my appointment. I had a very pompous genius finally approach me, who informed me that the battery is out of stock and that I should've known they'd be out of stock and that had I made an appointment later in 2018, I'd have had better luck. How can a tech company book appointments with customers and not have the inventory set aside for the appointments? It seems like a system designed to inconvenience paying customers. read more

APPLE TIME! Not my first apple product but my first Mac Pro. I ordered the item online, selected pickup location to this store, and picked it up when received the "pick-up" email notification. I was kindly greater at the door and helped immediately. Scanned my email, product came out, scan product, and I was happily on my way. Being that it's my first Mac Pro I would assume the floor people would recommend and promote the learning classes they have available or ask on the spot if i needed help with any setup. I felt they assumed i already know how to use their operating system. Windows/PC to Mac OS X operating system are quite different. Overall, happy with my purchase. The Burlingame location is much smaller than the Palo Alto one, but I give it 5 stars because I've always gotten great customer service. A few months ago, I had an incident where these women followed me from Peninsula Avenue all the way to a parking spot in front of the Mac store. As my brother and I got out of the car, they parked next to my car and started screaming threats at us so I thought it would be best if we went into the store and called the police. The guy at the genius bar who called the police for me was really helpful and nice. I was there again today and the same guy was there and he remembered me. He's fixed my iPod twice. I have a crush on this guy who works there, who plays World of Warcraft and wears Keens. Too bad he's more than double my age. Parking on Burlingame Avenue sucks ass. Come to find out that the battery damage on my apple laptop is a fault I should pay $250 for. Ok Apple you're just lucky this didn't happen WHILE it was in use. It's "out of warranty" the technician says. Oh, ok. Because I wasn't told at the time of purchase that after the warranty the battery is going to explode on you, still want to purchase this laptop. The technician asks me why I didn't come the minute I saw the swelling. Hmm if you check your records you will see that I have been in your store twice and in Hillsdale once trying to set a date for me to DROP off my laptop which takes less that 5 minutes! UPDATE- came to pick up my laptop and Tim, the manager assisted me. I explained how disappointed I was for having to pay for the laptop $250 and he walked me over safety and waived the fee! First, i made an appointment since one week and ordered the battery replacement for my iPhone 7 since the batteries issues are going on. At the moment that got to the store they told me that they didn't order the battery and if i want them to ordered at that moment. For me sounds a strategy that they want you to upgrade to the next phone knowing that the phone has a year already. I left totally upset, no worth to come to this apple store at all. I love Apple products!! This Apple store is smaller than Valley Fair, but it's not as busy either, especially on a Sunday. I want to give recognition to "Skip" who was so helpful in helping me find the right fit for my ipad2. He showed me what was available at the Apple store and explained to me that there are many others brands available online (hope he doesn't get in trouble for this) He even wanted to grab his coworker's cover to show me, but he was on his lunch break. If I could give this review zero stars I would. Went in to fix an issue with my phone they had to do a repair so left it for an hour. When I returned to pick it up took a half an hour for them to get it from the back. Didn't help reload my phone left since I needed to log into another device to get the back up. Get home backed up my phone and realize there is no SIM card in my phone. They took my sim card out didn't put it back. Called to see if it was there and the advisor on the phone blamed me for not taking it out telling me I have to contact my provider and get my sim card replaced. So all in all an awful experience. read more
