What a rip-off! I had a Mac laptop that did not take a charge. After determining that it was not just my cord, I was told I would need to pay a $500 flat fee for them to open it up and go to the next step to fix it. My laptop is only 3 years old. Instead, I went to "youbreakIfix" where I was given a FREE diagnostic. The technician opened it and cleaned the connections and NOW IT WORKS!! The cost was VERY reasonable.... unlike the $500 flat fee. Although they were polite and professional, that fee is outrageous... which is probably why I am outraged enough to write this post. read more

Don't buy your Apple products from this store. If you have any issues with your product, the manager's response will be something along the line of "sorry your product has something wrong with the circuit board and we can't repair it and you will need to buy a new one and we will not give you credit for the one you bought two years ago". Went to the Deer Park Apple Store today for help resetting my iCloud password. I had purchased 20 iPad mini's from this location for Christmas gifts for our staff. I was told that I could stop in with my drivers license and they would be able to match my purchase with the serial number and prove that this was indeed NOT a stolen ipad but one of the 20 that were purchased from this location. I told them that I was only 10 minutes down the road and asked if I could come now, they said not a problem. I asked if I needed to have an appointment and they said, no just come on in and we will get you taken care of in just a few minutes. So, as instructed I showed up, after I walk in I was now told that I WOULD in fact be needing an appointment and that the soonest they had available would be on Saturday. So after spending 45 minutes on the phone, driving to the Apple Store, waiting in line, I ended up leaving with ZERO help, ZERO APOLOGY AND AN IPAD THAT STILL WONT WORK. If I needed an appointment you could have told me, saved me the drive and made my Saturday appointment to fix the problem but instead I you disrespected my time. Had an unbelievably horrible experience at this store. Both of my teenagers cracked the screens on their phones. One has a iPhone 4 8gb and the other an iPhone 4s 16gb. After being passed around to four different techs, I was told both phones could not be repaired and I could swap the phones (for a price). I agreed to do it and spent a few hours in the store one Friday night while the swap was made. My son had not backed up his phone so the process took much longer than expected. When I finally got home and gave my son his phone back, he quickly noticed that the replacement phone was an iPhone 4 8gb rather than the 4s 16gb he had. That's when the fun started. I called apple and explained my problem. They connected me directly with the store who told me that this could not have occurred because of their serial number system. I assured them it had as my son had Siri and now did not. Elliott the manager told me I'd have to come in and prove my son had a 4s 16gb. I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon who ended up texting me the original phone's serial number. When I finally got to the store the following week, Dan, the manager on duty, told me there's no way this could've occurred. I provided the serial number and he said that didn't matter. They told me there's nothing they could do. At this point I got angry. Went in for a broken phone and left with a completely different model and now they're calling me a liar. After several sidebar discussions w each other, they agreed to swap this one time. This put me over the edge as they somehow thought they were doing me a favor. After much heated discussion, They finally did the swap and I was out of there. No manager ever came and apologized etc. When I left I made sure to tell my tech Dave that he needed to let dan the manager know he's a coward. Hiding in the back the whole time. Bottom line TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU NEVER GO TO THIS STORE. they need some quality control and customer service training. read more

Finally, an Apple store that I am *compatible* with! Let me preface this review by saying that I hate crowds. Okay, wait. Maybe hate isn't the right word. I DESPISE crowds. I'm just not a fan of too many people, too much noise, too close for comfort, too small of a space, etc. Add to this my irrational phobia of over-eager sales associates, and you can imagine why I seldom set foot into stores like Apple -- where there is almost guaranteed to be a swarm of people inside and a front-line of associates that you must first bypass even if you're "just browsing." Alas, as I am in the market for a new laptop, I could not avoid a visit to one of these stores. To minimize any anxiety on my part, I set out to find the location boasting the least amount of traffic. That being said, a certain location that will not be named (but rhymes with Schmoodfield) was off the table. I mean, really -- I've never walked past that store without it being just sardines-in-a-can packed. And so, after some careful deliberation -- I set my sights on the Deer Park location. [Insert 'thumbs-up' emoji here], because it ended up being the perfect choice! Okay, to be fair -- the Deer Park location wasn't NOT busy -- it just wasn't the circus frenzy that I've (fine, unfairly) come to associate with Apple stores in general. And yes, I was greeted by an associate -- but not in the over eager way that usually sends me running. And actually -- I had quite the pleasant experience with a sales associate at this location! Not only did he clue me into an available student discount (sweet!), but he was very honest regarding both the pros and pitfalls of the specific model about which I was inquiring. And even when I was just about ready to take the plunge and make a purchase -- he urged me to first consider whether any of the online customizations would appeal to me before making a commitment. And though the more cynical may argue that he was just after the bigger profit for the company -- I genuinely believed that he'd rather I take some extra time to think over the purchase rather than settling -- though this ultimately meant him missing out on my sale in that moment. I'm still mulling over my purchase, and in all honesty -- will likely place an order online. I will, however, have it shipped to the Deer Park store for pickup -- so that I can have the pleasure of visiting my perfect-match Apple location! read more

This store was a bit hard to find at first, because it was all jumbled up with other stores in the area. It is next to pottery barn, lulu lemon and sephora. My phone's screen was non responsive at times, came here, they asked me to restore phone back to factory setting. That did not solve the issue, I took it back 2 days later, they gladly gave me a replacement. Had no issue with workers here, very pleasant and helpful. Even learned a thing or two new. Definitely have been to other apple stores where workers are much more rude. read more

I purchased an Apple Watch for my 72 year old mother with mobility issues. She was so excited to be able to use it, that she could make an emergency call if there was an issue, and that the latest version even has a feature that detects if she takes a fall. She's pretty hip to technology for her age, and asked one of her home care aids to take her to the store to exchange her watch for a more expensive version which allowed it to work as a standalone phone. She recently had a fall, currently has a broken shoulder, and injured her leg--even opening doors is hard for her. Upon entering the store, she asked if they could provide a seat for her with "arms" so she could actually sit down in a safe way and was told, "we don't want to pull a chair from the back as we don't want to ruin our floors". So my mother, who was going in to spend more money in the store, and is currently handicapped with a broken shoulder in a brace, was told no. She then asked to use a restroom that was supposed to be handicapped accessible, and it was not. She was so upset by how she was treated it ruined the whole experience of receiving the watch as a gift. As her daughter, I'm appalled. I think it's great that Apple has created such amazing technology, that I rest a bit easier at night knowing she is safer, but am so upset that the actual stores in which customers can seek help, or upgrade their technology, is not equipped to aid the handicapped. In addition, how are their employees not allowed to help an elderly person with a seat? She physically could not sit on a stool. This is something that needs to be looked at. *As a side note to the manager at this store: Sometimes you need to break the rules. The human being in you should have seen that another person was suffering and needed a little help. You had the capacity to make a person's day, opposed to ruining it. This should be a policy change in your stores. We'll be calling Apple directly in addition to this review. read more

super impressed with the Genius Bar. I walked in there tonight with an appointment and this place is constant busy. I got there early figuring I could get a jump on my iPhone issue but they were so busy, I got called right on time. While I was waiting, I got checked in and someone always made sure I was checked in and if I needed anything. Excellent customer service!!! The woman who handled my issue with my phone was extremely helpful and very nice. Thus another reason Apple is a stellar brand. My problem took sometime and she took other appointments but always came back to me to check in on our progress. Came here tonight to have my Iphone repaired after the speaker mysteriously stopped working. I live five minutes from the Apple store located in Woodfield Mall & drive 30min out of my way to come to this Apple location. All the employees are super friendly, and helpful. I did not walk past an employee without being asked if I needed help, or had questions. I came to my appointment early, and they were able to take me as soon as I walked in, didn't wait at all. Something this store does differently then the Woodfield store, is they actually explain to me what is being done to my phone instead of taking it in their backroom and not seeing it for 30min. After having horrible experiences with different Apple stores, I am super happy that I found an Apple store that I'm comfortable with! read more

Deerpath store Love Apple products but not the customer service. Damaged my iPhone 5 (still worked but very dark) and brought in to see if it could be fixed or maybe offered a discount towards a new one. After opening and examining it, they said it could not be fixed and after lengthy discussions, offered what equates to being a $17 discount off a new one. Seriously? And now the damaged one doesn't even turn on. This is after spending mega dollars on apple products over many years. read more

I bought my Macbook Air here about a year ago, and was back a couple times because I had always been a Windows person and was not comfortable transferring files from old computer to new, didn't know how to set up my new e-mail, etc. The staff was really great to work with, as (I found out while shopping) they are not on commission. This definitely helps take away from the "pushy sales" experience I am used to getting at most retailers. One drawback to this location is that it always feels like a cluster_ in there. It's understandable given that it's in a convenient spot, and the Lake County sales tax attracts us Crook County-ers looking to save on our purchase(s). All in all--If you can deal with crowds and/or don't mind waiting to get something done, this place will absolutely serve your needs. read more

But these idiots have no idea how to run intake, and think it's a good customer experience to have you stop into the store and put your name on a list just so you can come in hours later just to drop your device off, resulting in a third trip and hours wasted. You can make an appointment, the smug Genius informs you. Great, if you want to wait five days for the privilege of being seen instead. Apple, let me help you with this: your store experience blows. If you were actually Geniuses, you would know this. Even 15 years ago I could take my cell phone to an AT&T service center and get it replaced during the same visit if it was broken. When my Dell laptop breaks, they send a technician to my house the next day to fix it. So quit pretending like me having to either make 3 trips to the store or wait a week for an appointment makes you God's gift to the earth, and get your act together. read more

I was told to walk in by apple support and given a confirmation number. After a 45 min dr I arrived only to be told they were no longer accepting walk in's. Sorry you can try again tomorrow was the only answer. If your not going to accept walk in's then don't have apple support telling people to do so. It is way too busy here on Saturdays or Sundays so stay away on weekends if possible. If you have newer apple products they have been very helpful but I feel like some of my older apple products they just want me to purchase new. I feel like that is probably a common theme among all apple stores so not sure if I can blame them for that. read more

I shattered my iPhone screen last night and was devastated. I got home and quickly made a Genius Bar appointment for the earliest slot they had for Sunday morning. Came in a little early because I thought it would take longer to arrive. They checked me in early and got me talking to an employee pretty quickly. Handed them my phone and they ran a diagnostic test and said the only thing wrong was the shattered display. Said it would cost $128 to fix the screen of my 6S and it would take an hour and half. Came back an hour and a half later and was handed my phone with a new screen. Cost $138 and some change due to taxes. Had to reset my thumbprint but other than that everything else was how I left it. Loved the ease of the whole interaction. What could've been a horrible experience was a quick and painless trip. read more

Everyone here is super friendly and extremely knowledgable with everything to Mac support, iPad support, iPhone support and suggestions for useful applications. What sets the deer park store apart from the others is that they really take the time to show & teach you what they are doing so if it ever happens again you can apply these skills at your house. This review is coming late, but I just want to give a mad shout out to the store manager, Katy (I believe this is her name, though it's been months since this went down), who helped me so much in the debacle that was my purchase of a computer. She was patient, willing to call my bank for verification of a refund, wait on the line for 30 minutes after the store was closed only to get hung up on by them. It was a disaster and she kept her cool the entire time. She was gracious to me and helped a ton. She even provided a charger for my phone when the battery was dying. I trust that her skills pass through the entire store. Great experience given a really disastrous situation. read more

I had a broken key on my keyboard so I made an appointment here with the Genius Bar to get it fixed. Upon arrival, I can see why they recommend making an appointment. The place was packed! It was a weekend so maybe it is more busy during this time, but wow, there were a lot of people there! I arrived about 15 minutes early and was able to check in with one of the employees. They told me to hang around and someone would be with me shortly. I felt like I might get lost in the madness, but within a few minutes, a friendly Genius introduced himself. I explained the issue and he took the keyboard back to see if it could be fixed. Within a few minutes he was back and the keyboard was fixed! Overall it was a nice experience and I will definitely go back if I have any issues or need to get any new Apple products. If there is one thing that could be improved it would be a way to get in contact with the store by phone. I tried to call the store ahead of time but the automated phone system kept sending me to Apple Care so I was not able to get in touch with anyone from the store. Other than that, everything else was great! read more

If you have a mac or want one, the Genius Bar (aka, customer service) is a great deal, between my laptop and iPhone, they always have the answer or find it when I need something addressed...and it's a free service! Really excellent service. Highly recommend Apple and this location. I visited this store at 11am on a Sunday, right when they opened. I got there around 10:55am, and there was already a line outside the store! There was an employee checking people who already had appointments in. I highly recommend making an appointment online so you don't have to wait. Rick at the Genius Bar took a look at my laptop to diagnose what was wrong with it. Also, he exchanged my battery charger which was under the warranty and not working properly. I really appreciate that you can bring Apple products into the store when they are not working. When I walked out, many different employees said bye and thank you for coming into the store. Very positive experience. read more

I can't believe the bad reviews of this awesome store. The people who write them are obviously not Apple fans to begin with, so I don't know why they are even in there. I have been an Apple owner since I owned a IIE back in the 80s. I have experienced nothing but the most thorough help in this store. The people who staff the Genius Bar really know their stuff and the greeters and sales people are equally accessible, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great products from a great store. If you get a new device here, you can purchase a year of "One to One" lessons which enable you to schedule private tutoring sessions. There are group Mini-classes too. I am unaware of that type of service at other places. It is no mistake that Apple is consistently rated #1 in customer service and product lines in Consumer Reports and other evaluative consumer guides. I love this place. read more

Buyer Beware: I purchased AirPods and had to exchange them later on in the day because they were not working properly. They gave me another pair. The next day my AirPods were not even connecting to my phone and the double tap still was working. Very frustrating. read more
