I am highly impressed with the service at the Lincoln Park Apple store. I usually go to Michigan Avenue store but I didn't want to deal with finding parking near the Mag Mile during the holidays. I've had a few "" problems with my iPad that I bought at that store. when I call them the actually get on the phone. I got a little reckless with my iPad one night and Shattered my screen. So I'm here - waiving my $$$ around saying "take me" "take Me." A handler gets my name nicely and puts me in the cue but I'm waiting to spend my money for like 20 minutes. The original girl Eventually came up to me to help me. She was nice and it was a pretty easy transaction. I shouldn't of had to wait so long in order to drop $1000. The organization of the store needs to improve and I would expect it to be better for the state of the art facility. I recently broke my Mac charging cable and found myself needing a new one. I called the Lincoln Park location to see if I could pick one up while visiting a friend. Justin, the customer service associate who responded to my call, was both lovely and knowledgeable--he walked me through each step of placing an order and securing a pick up window. Let me start this by saying that I have never had a less than satisfactory experience at an Apple Store. ALLOW THE RAVE REVIEW TO BEGIN: I made an appointment to meet with a Mac Genius about an hour before I headed over to the store (I would advise anyone who needs technology looked at to make an appointment, the number of yuppie moms standing there giving the employees a hard time because they "don't have all day" is astounding). It was crowed. The mom-orexics were cranky. I figured my appointment would be a little later than scheduled, but no. My Genius grabbed me after I waited only a few minutes. Awesome. This guy was GREAT. Not only was he professional and ready to get down-to-business, but he was friendly, conversational, and CUTE. (Seriously though, how are the Mac Genius alwayyys sooo adorable?!) To my dismay my Apple care was long expired and my MacBook needed an EXPENSIVE fix. I was trying my best not to smack my head repeatedly on the Genius Bar.... Phenomenal experience! I have gone in 4 times for various reasons and I've never been disappointed. The geniuses are always so kind and work really well with all types of clients. My most recent visit was for broken headphones. I waited about 10 minutes. The genius came by and helped diagnose the problem. Made a genius bar reservation because my 10-month old iPhone 6 randomly stopped charging (and then, stopped working). The "genius" plugged my phone in three times to a computer and with no luck (~3-minute span), turned to me and recommended that I buy a new phone right there, right then in the store for $300. I asked him what was wrong, he said, "it would take too much time and effort to figure out what is wrong with your phone. When it comes to battery and charging, we just recommend buying a new one." Lincoln park is packed any day anytime, it's just that way. Like anywhere else in Life you have good and bad service situation just like we all have good and bad days. Technology is changing daily! I got a new iPhone/Mac/Iwatch last week and I had Greg assisting me who was incredible. Greg used Voice activated instructions to complete the transaction and It was the most smoothest transaction for what can be complicated. Greg handled it but when I went to the set up table everything was smooth but I lost all my calendar information and passwords on my new IPhone Frustrating yes but when I went back it was worked out! Business Schools always say the best business product is a product that breaks and needs to be improved, So to hear so many Bash Apple and it's associate's is wrong, Do you all preform to the highest levels at work everyday ? So when you all go into Apple next time you go in knowing that it will be long and sometimes frustrating but the product is great! I love that the people here get to be called Geniuses. It's a major self-esteem booster. Compared to PC nerds, like myself, the staff knows very little about anything that gets technical at all. Meanwhile, I have to deal with waiting behind a family of idiots that clearly are only switching to Apple to impress their neighbors. I had a real question while I had to wait for an entire family of people ask the "Genius" how to use their new iPad. They sounded so confused. When asked if any of them had an iPhone, the answer was no. Then one of them said, "This seems kind of like my iPod touch." It's exactly like your iPod touch, moron. Anyway, that was a separate experience. The actual customer service is great, but you do occasionally find people that aren't very tech savvy working there. Last time I visited was because I had some issues with my Magic Trackpad for my Mac Mini. As Apple does, the solution was, "You've just won a new Magic Trackpad!" I loved that solution. I tend to go in and play with things so that I know what I want and then I go to Best Buy so that I can get 24 months no interest financing. read more

My last visit here they took my phone in the basement and someone was making Facetime calls on it- how do I know! PHONE IS SYNCED TO MY LAPTOP! I simply brought he phone in because the volume button. The store is fine...always crowded, but that's typical at most Apple stores. The Genius Bar, however, is such a pain. They are NEVER running on time. Let's just say I've been to to the Genius Bar a few times this year at the least. I have never waited less than 30 minutes past my appointment time. Now I'm no Apple Store Genius, but I would think certain busier locations might consider scheduling appointments longer than fifteen minutes. I would highly recommend driving out to Old Orchard if you need support for your Apple product. Sure, you'll have to pay for gas, but it's probably worth your sanity and extra time. read more

When walking into an Apple store in Lincoln Park, midday on Saturday afternoon, one can be expected to find a boat load of people inside, either buying accessories, visiting the Genius Bar, or buying new Apple products. I was afraid I would be there forever, but because Apple has reservations, I was actually seen very quickly. My iPhone 4s was having volume issues, and I found out early that it was best to go directly to Apple instead of my phone company for troubleshooting. Well, I'm sure glad that I did go to Apple. The rep tested my phone, saw that the issue was hardware related and replaced my phone for FREE! My warranty on the device was not up for another couple of months, so that saved me from having to pay an insurance deductible from Asurion. While I waited for my replacement phone to restore, I browsed other products and accessories. It was way too thick in there, with people and their families, so I decided to just sit and wait until everything was done. All in all, the service is great at this location. read more

This location is easy-in and easy-out with great service and an impressive physical presence. Every apple store should be pretty much the same. same products, same prices but they can vary widely with customer service. This one has a lot of merchandise but the customer service is eh... It doesn't have the magnificent mile influx of foot traffic yet has a mediocre level of service as if it DID have that amount of customers. I've been in a dozen times and it's hit or miss. Okay, so I know it might be cheap to write a review update 15 days after my first review, but this place COMPLETELY swayed my opinion from the first time I visited. My Macbook Pro's retina display started showing some severe ghosting. I could actually read my buddy list through my e-mail it was so bad. I took it here because this is (now) the closest apple store to my house. The guy at the "Genius Bar" (I'll spare the comments about the name. They've all been said) was very nice and very receptive to the issue. He ran the Image Retention test. In the 3 minutes it took, he started researching the problem on Apple's internal forums. The test finished, and I honestly couldn't see the image retention... But he could. So it was a new screen for me! A $650 repair free under warranty (I mean it was a defect anyway, but at least I didn't have to fight with anyone). They said they had the part in stock. I was given a 24-72 hour window. I called in the next day to see if the computer was ready, and it wasn't... I called again toward the end of their business day just to make sure. I got a slightly rude woman on the phone who showed some fake empathy as she told me they hadn't yet even looked at the machine. 24 hours later, and it was still sitting there. I asked her why it hadn't been looked at yet, and she told me "That's the way it is." She gave me a fake "I'm sorry" and I responded with "It sure doesn't sound like it" and hung up the phone. At that point, I was concerned. I had read through all the 1-star reviews about the service department, and I figured I'd earned myself a spot at the end of the repair line 3 days down the line. FIVE minutes before the store closed, I got a phone call saying my computer was ready. I RAN to my car and made it JUST as they were closing (Actually a few minutes after they were supposed to close). I may have broken a few traffic laws on the way, but I got there. They greeted me with a smile and retrieved my computer quickly. The new screen is great. It's a Samsung display, rather than an LG. The LG's apparently have some issues. Fast, easy repair with only a minor hiccup by an unfortunately disinterested employee. read more

Don't actually stand at the bar waiting for someone), I had a very good experience with this store. They diagnosed my computer as needing a new hard drive within 5-10 min. I am certainly an Apple fan. But I'm an even bigger fan of awesome customer service. And this place is a well-oiled machine. Last week, when trying to install an OS upgrade on my 2-year-old iMac, I got to a place in the process when my machine froze. When I attempted to reboot, I got the flashing "folder/?" sign. Of course, my data was NOT backed up. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar, and Hubby made the trip (mid-day on a weekday) to the Apple store with iMac under his arm. It was not too crowded, and he was helped immediately by a "genius" named Evan who was able to boot the machine. Evan advised us to return home, back up the machine, try to reinstall the OS upgrade and if we got the same problem to return the machine to the store. Went home--backed up--reinstalled--same problem--back to Apple Store on a Friday night after work. My heart sank: there were at least 100 people in the store when I arrived and I knew I'd be there all night. I was wrong. Even in the throngs of people, the Genius Bar techs got me in 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment! This genius, Matthew, hooked up my machine to a diagnostics program which indicated my hard drive was failing. He told me they would replace my 320GB hard drive with a 500GB hard drive, restore the machine from my Iomega backup drive, install the new OS and have it ready in 3-5 days. The whole appointment was over in 15 short minutes. I should say that I've owned two PC's in my life. A Compaq laptop and a Dell laptop. Both machines had problems, but when I called Dell tech support, I was forced to stay on the line and help solve or diagnose the problem: unplug this; reboot; go into the SYS folder: try this; type that; unplug again; remove the battery, etc. It took well over an hour for the tech to decide, yes, we have a problem. Then he told me to go ahead and ship the machine back to them, at my expense, and to expect a bill and I'd get my machine back in 2-3 weeks. :-( This morning, I received a phone call from the Apple Store telling me my machine was ready to be picked up. When I returned to the Apple Store during lunch to retrieve my iMac, I was in the store for less than 10 minutes. My bill was nothing, b/c I'd purchased the Apple Care Protection program 2 yrs ago when I purchased the iMac. The whole experience was quick, absolutely painless and really, really cool. Everyone who works here is truly, genuinely enthusiastic about their job and helping customers. Some are very young, others are more seasoned, but they all go out of their way to ensure that you are actually being helped and that you are never ignored. Also, there is a parking deck right around the corner, and Apple validates. You should visit this most interesting place, if for no other reason than to see "real" customer service in action. I've never been to the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue, but this location in Lincoln Park is awesome. read more

Like all Apple Store locations I've been to, the staff here is as helpful as they can be. Sometimes even more: I recently went in to this location and unfortunately they weren't able to help me with an issue I had. While I understood, and the Genius that helped me was very nice, I was still a little bummed. Apple sent me a survey and I mentioned in a comment that I had hoped they would've been able to help me out a little more. A few hours later I got a call from Michelle, one of the store managers. I told her the issue I was having, she was understanding, and was able to take care everything for me. This is the reason I recommend Apple products to so many people; partially for the products, but largely for the support and service you get from the Apple Stores and their people like Michelle. read more

The employees will do whatever they need to do to make sure that every customer is satisfied and is a repeat customer. I bought the iPad (the OLD one...) about a week before the announcement that there was to be an iPad 2 coming out in March. I was very happy with my new old iPad, but while I was there for the complimentary "Meet your new iPad" workshop, they told me that since I had just gotten mine, they would be able to return it for store credit so that when the new one comes out I can have the upgrade. I ordered my original one online and had it engraved (which means you're not supposed to be able to return it), but the staff at the Apple Store in Lincoln Park had no problem with it. And now I have my iPad 2 for the same exact price as I paid for the original iPad last month. I am very impressed with the level of customer service I received at this location, and I will go back again and again. read more

Horrible Experience! Brought my phone in for a repair. When it was time for me to pick up my phone they couldn't find my phone. After they were looking for about 10 minutes I happened to notice one table over there was a phone just sitting at a table. Guess who's it was? So I brought my phone to the Apple associates and was like so I found my phone sitting on that table. It had been there for about an hour and a half. Luckily no one stole it. They apologized then went to rush it getting fixed. So when they brought it back from repair which was fast, my tempered glass screen protector was broken and spider webbed. So I showed the guy and he non challantly said well when they repair the phones they use suction cups to remove the screen so that probably damaged it then. I said ok so..... his response was well we don't sell those so there's nothing I can do. So essentially they left my phone unattended on a table in the store for an hour and a half, then broke my screen cover during the repair process and were like sorry these things happen. I dropped my 2 year old iPhone 3G one time too many and the screen shattered. I don't want to buy a new phone as mine works just fine. I was able to get a 5:30 appointment on a Friday evening. I arrived at 5:15 (made great time on the Red Line for once!) and checked in. I didn't mind waiting until noticing it's after 5:30. Some dude strolls and gets immediate help from his friend who works there. While normally, this wouldn't totally bug me the store was crowded and there was a wait for the genius bar. The girl checking folks in even started to help him, which bugged me more. Finally after they're done helping him, she lets me know they're running behind about 10 minutes. That would've been good to know when I checked in at 5:15. I wish I could give the guy who finally did help me 5 stars. Will was AWESOME. Not only did he fix my screen, but he was super nice and time efficient. Instead of trying to get me to buy a new phone, he understood I wanted to wait until the next generation comes out (whenever that will be). His customer service really made up for the wait time. This is the worst Apple Store I have ever been to. I set up an appointment for a battery replacement and set aside an entire Saturday afternoon to do this. I show up to the store for my scheduled battery replacement appointment at 3:10pm only to discover they have no batteries. When the Genius returned from the downstairs area, he exclaimed "Plot twist! We're all out of batteries!" Things I didn't hear include: - I'm sorry - We realize your time is valuable - i understand that this is a huge inconvenience - we made appointment to replace your battery when we don't even have any batteries; I understand how frustrating this must be I want to make clear that the Genius I talked to was super nice and did what he could to help me. What frustrates me to no end is that the store made an appointment with me for a battery replacement when they had no batteries! Who treats their customers like this? read more
