    Potatoes and Veggies galore!

The food is pleasing to the palette. The individuals that embrace the Apple Peddlers' dining areas range from the well equipped younger diners to the grand elders around the area. Right off the I-5, make it a convenient Home cooked feel for the weary traveler seeking a moment to decompress. The stress of long-distance travel makes it extremely easy to melt in the seat. However, the seats are a little stiff. Comfortable seating knocks this otherwise simply yet homie feel from an almost undisputed 5 star rating to simply 4 stars. This evening, after agate hunting on the North Umpqua River, I stopped in for a warm bowl of soup. Prime Rib Vegatable was chick full of prime rib and equally delicious as the veggies and noodles make this a Divine treat.

I'll be honest, I wasn't completely sure about this place based on the reviews, but as the saying goes "don't knock it till you try it." The service is a bit slower than your average restaurant, but that's just the norm in a small town. However, the people here are nice and friendly. I was really in the mood for a good salad and so I decided on the cobb because you can't go wrong with a cobb. Well, I must say, the house dressing was awesome and the portion was huge and hearty. Definitely a meal I needed after eating so many carbs. Overall, a good restaurant for the food, but if you're short on time I would skip.

Passing thru from California and decided to stop in this little town and try the restaurant. Service was friendly, excellent and they cooked it just as ordered. Patties are hand pressed and delicious no complaints here!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a nice diner feel without going too far. The food is very tasty, pretty standard diner fair. The staff is medium. They are nice, friendly, helpful, and reasonable fast and attentive. The only real complaints I had was that my burger came with a raw onion instead of cooked, which would have been okay except that the onion was huge, so it was a little overwhelming, and overpowering. And the fries were all stiff, which some people prefer but it isn't my thing. Otherwise though, it was great for a stop. And the best thing was the coffee! I really enjoyed the coffee here. I mean it's just perfect, not too bitter but you still actually have the coffee flavor. I would come back just for the Joe.

Not great. Okay. Terrible service and mediocre food. Pricey for what you get and can't imagine it will be here in a year.

One night we ate at the bar because the hostess was so far from friendly it wasn't funny. Second try, we tried to get a reservation before we left and the hostess again was not kind or helpful or seemed like she even knew what she was doing. When we came to meet friends for dinner hoping to do a walk in (the check in said we shouldn't have issues after telling her how we couldn't get a reservation), same hostess. My husband was LIVID. We ended up taking four bar stools, getting a cocktail and leaving to have dinner at McKees. I'm sorry but everything is good here besides the hostess. My birthday dinner was good at the bar the first night but my husband had a chat with the manager outside because he was that mad about how we were treated. His excuse was that finding staff wasn't easy. Well, you're running a premier restaurant at a golf resort and it needs to be better. Will we be back? Yes. I hope that girl is replaced or demoted. She's a bad look for the restaurant and Bandon golf resorts in general.

We'll come back to the carrot cake in a minute. We were in for a culinary delight and hopefully so will you. We ordered an antipasto appetizer that had a variety of tasty morsels with a loving presentation-heart carafes held both olives, mozzarella spheres. Next served was a warm artisan loaf that was accompanied by a garlic, olive oil, and roasted red pepper infused dipping sauce. Yum! We shared a goat cheese, ginger coated spinach beet salad, both healthy and delicious. Our entrees were timed perfectly as our server took such excellent care of us, paired with the charming ambience and local art-our date night was transported beyond the confines of a Dari mart parking lot. The scallops were plated similar to a five star restaurant and with the flavors to match. The namesake dish had a unique mild, spicy Italian sauce twist that had us wishing for another loaf to sop it up; a spoon sufficed. Back to the carrot cake-made in house by the owner-a double decker delight with a macron frosting-best carrot cake I've ever had and let me remind you how we chose this restaurant. I've been around the block with multiple carrot cakes. To add to our seemingly never ending meal, we would have preferred they lock us in and eat for a living there, we ordered the dark chocolate mousse. Our camera did not stand a chance in capturing the dessert in all its splendor...we included a photo of the empty results. Finally, for the excellent service, amazing food, warm ambience and creative cooking...we thought when the bill came that we'd be living on spaghetti a sauce for the next month. However, we stared dumbfounded at the bill-surely the sever forgot to input something...she did apologize that she forgot to add the two $10 desserts. I've included a picture of the bill, Nowadays, that total gets me some drinks and a couple appetizers. I will be driving the nearly three hours to dine again, even if I forced to get takeout. This place is special! And would worthy of your special events too. Mangia! Not sure if she was good and busy or inexperienced and not so busy. I got the cioppino expecting a seafood soup. They brought me stuff as if it were a crab boil. And there was crab. It reminds me of those places where they put sliders on bloody marries. It's a lot. I leave it to you if that's a good or bad thing. But if you get it prepare to eat with your hands.

The restaurant is about 3/10 mile off I-5, and has plenty of parking. We ordered General Tso's Chicken (on special the day we went) and Shrimp Peapods Chow Yuk (stir-fried veggies). The dishes came with complimentary soups; we both chose Hot & Sour (our favorite, and a bellweather for the quality of the food). The Hot & Sour soup was great. It had a nice sour tang and was moderately spicy (both very nice), and had fresh vegetables as well as tofu strips. I asked for the small portion of General Tso's Chicken with steamed rice. The serving was well more than I could finish after a long day of driving. The sauce was great, and the breading or the chicken was crisp and crunchy. The chicken chunks (of which there were plenty) were huge. Spouse ate about a third of the huge portion of the Shrimp dish, which came with both plentiful peapods, lots of celery and brocoli, and more than a dozen shrimp. The shrimp and vegetables were crisp and fresh. Our server, Sandy, was also great, answering our questions about menu items, the history of the restaurant, etc. as well as bringing our food & drinks very promptly. She checked in every once and a while, and brought boxes for our leftovers, which we added to our travel cooler for lunch tomorrow, along with two sets of chopsticks. The last thing we check in a new restaurant is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Again, very nice! A nice touch: There are a couple of bins of childrens' toys at the desk.
