I've been to the apple store now a few times. I rate it three stars because overall I've had some good experience but I've also had some bad experiences here. Pros: 1.For the most part their genius bar is useful. I took my MacBook to be fixed on Monday and it was fixed by Wednesday. No problems, everything works! 2. The store is really clean and they have a nice setup. 3. Products are nicely on display and someone usually always ask if you need help. Cons: 1. You can't just drop off something to fix without making an appointment, regardless if you already had a prior appointment and they have your information logged. 2. Some of the staff aren't on the same page as others and really don't know what they are doing. 3. Some staff look as though they don't want to be there. 4. It is always busy! 5. Needed to replace my husbands Iphone 6 screen and they put a white screen instead of black screen on and I had to wait an additional hour for them to fix their mistake! Overall, it's an apple store. I have been to better! However, sadly it literally is the only apple store in the Memphis area so unless I plan on driving hours to the Little Rock AR or the Ridgeland MS location, I have no choice and I will continue to go there! read more

Literally, the worst customer experience I've had working with Apple. I had an appointment yet when I got there on time they didn't have a clue. Was never even greeted they have no system in place for that. The "genius" that I initially spoke to implied that I had a stolen M1 MacBook even though I bought it from that exact location. The person who was tasked to help me had zero experience at that role and was extremely confrontational and had the nastiest attitude. Never again will go to that store. read more

I've been to this Apple store on busy days and slow-ish days and never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time. They've done a tremendous job on hiring an eclectic bunch of employees. It's great to see the difference in all of them here, yet they all accomplish the same goal. I asked, how long to buy an iPad Pro and get out? I asked because the place was packed at 1PM on a Sunday afternoon. The greeter estimated 10-20 minutes. So far, so good. In less than 10 minutes, I was greeted by a knowledgable sales person who set me up, I thought, and handed me off to a set up person. Because the whole process ended up taking two and a half hours, I'll spare you the details except to say that the first woman spent an hour with me (including sharing her thoughts on God and evolution which might be considered inappropriate by some) before getting up and leaving without letting me know she was going. Two of her colleagues recovered, but needed another 90 minutes to get me out the door. Don't wonder why people buy on line; don't wonder why Apple stock has done what it's done lately. Lovely Apple Store. Clean and pretty, just as you'd expect from Apple. Plenty of people ready to help you. It can get pretty busy, but they keep the line moving quickly and efficiently - rarely will you wait a substantial amount of time to be helped. Staff is super helpful and very friendly. The Saddle Creek shopping center where it's located, in Germantown, is very upscale and well-designed. Lots of other great shops nearby, including TJMaxx and Kroger. read more

I'm in for Apple Watch 2 repair. This store is located in the Saddle Creek shops area. Everything A-P-P-L-E is here! Usually crowded but you never really wait for a very long time. The building is spacious and plenty of places to sit. Once the person at the door puts your info inside the tablet, the wait for service is short. Plenty enough workers to go around. My watch is cracked. I have Apple Care. 69 to send it in and for a repair or a replacement and promised to arrive back at the store within 7-10 days. Great service. Sometimes have to wait a bit, but always worth it. Very knowledgeable staff and very willing to help. Not like the big box stores where some pimply kid says "um, I'm not sure." The classes are awesome and very personalized unless you get stuck with somebody who monopolizes all of the teachers time. If that's the case, go back another time for the same class. It's ok, they let you go to the same class over again if you need it. I just wish the would open a store in Chattanooga, TN or consider online classes for those of us less fortunate souls that live too far away to attend classes often. read more

I made an appointment online beforehand. I checked in with the person at the door. After waiting 45 mins (and seeing walk-ins seated and helped before me) I checked again with one of the MANY employees walking around the store - and was told they made an error and I was never checked in. WHAT?! NOT HAPPY! Why even bother making an appointment? This store needs a lot of help. I saw quite a few unhappy customers. If there was another Apple Store in my area I would go there instead. We visited the store for a warranty replacement of an iPhone. The phone was recalled due to a software defect in this specific phone's lot number. We were promised that the replacement would be available in one week. After two weeks we went back to the store and found that they had charged us $163 but the phone still had the same problem. (The screen says No SIM). Someone named Osama who said he is the manager refused to refund our money or give us the replacement phone that we were promised by the Apple customer service rep and the retail store rep. We left with out our money and without a working phone. read more

I'm not a fan of yelp just because I work in the service industry and I never thought I would be that guy to write a review about a business. Tonight was an exception. My wife and I came in about 30 minutes before closing and we wanted to purchase some new phones. We met up with Ryan, who normally doesn't do sales, and he couldn't have been more accommodating. He walked us through the whole process of switching over our phones and took great care of us even. He stayed with us for almost an hour after the store closed to make sure we were all set to go. Was forced to leave the store because I cannot wear a mask due to my ADA exemption. Also I have been in this same store 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks with no issue and no mask. The security guard then cursed at me and insulted our puppy. So rude! Won't be back extremely unprofessional in a area with zero mask requirements. read more

I am a total Apple junkie so I suppose the store is a necessary evil. I love my computers, I love my iPhone, I love my iPad, but I do not love the prices, how crowded this store is, or that the Genius bar and other staff can treat you like an idiot...or that you're just not worth their time. For example, my laptop charger died out of nowhere and I had to go buy a new one. I walked in and a guy immediately greeted me (actually I was pounced on) asking what I needed. When I said I just needed a charger I literally saw him deflate as he said "oh. it's back there" and just pointed...didn't accompany me or care how extremely rude it was. So I wandered back there and stared at the options until another guy came and helped me. And $80 for a charger? Ridiculous. read more

Absolutely agree with Sarah L! This store is the reason why I'm not a Mac user! The few times I've walked into this store with some form of curiosity and maybe questions, I have either walked out of the store disappointed with the answers I get or more then often, annoyed because no one cared to ask what I needed because they were more involved with talking to another employee or holding a never-ending conversation with another customer. I have never walked into another mac store in this country. I have in Japan and it's totally different. Of course, no one speaks English there so it bloody defeats all purposes for me to go there lol! It's ALWAYS packed with people - they're either under-staffed or employing people who aren't smart enough to do the work - scary thought huh. Either way, the service here is a huge turn off for people thinking of going Mac. This store and the service is just like their Iphone... pretty to look at but no bloody sense to spend all that money and get half a product with limited use. read more

I hate to write this. I truly do, because this is my first Mac and I love it more than cake. Unfortunately, I've encountered what others have written about recently. I took my beloved MacBook Pro into the store to have it serviced at the Genius Bar. A good resource to use when you need help, they're pretty good about getting you in on a walk-in, just be prepared to wait. This is when things became disappointing. The staff is excellent at delivering bad news politely. When I took in my computer for service, they didn't call me to let me know that it was ready. When I called five days in to ask about the status, I was told that they'd call me when it was ready. Days tick by. Finally, on day thirteen, I call and let them know that I've been waiting. They take a message. So, I go into the store. Let the pleasant guy at the door know my situation, and he gets a manager. The manager is cool. Attentive and helpful. And lets me know that my computer has been ready for days. I let her know no one called, and she is apologetic. All is well. I should note that I needed a simple hard drive replaced and asked for the original hard drive to be given to me so that I could attempt to recover any lost data. I had originally discussed this with someone at the Genius Bar, and he had given me a sheet directing me to local businesses that would do this *when I got my old hard drive back post-replacement* I ask the manager for my old hard drive. Pause. 'Let me check the back.' About fifteen minutes pass, and she comes to let me know, 'We sent the hard drive away, there was no note that you wanted it.' I informed her that I'd specifically asked for it, and my husband vouched for me. I offered to speak with her to the person that I dealt with at the Genius Bar. She told me, and I quote, 'It usually costs 2-3,000 dollars to pull info off of a hard drive.' That is not the point, I say. And, it isn't. You specifically ask for YOUR hard drive, and it's done. Two strikes. No call, no hard drive. I was then told that they'd call me as they'd 'reached out' to their people in California to try to find it. I ask, 'What happens if it's not found.' She shrugs and gives me the 'sorry' face. Sorry for throwing away your hard drive when you specifically asked to have it back. If this was a mom and pop store, that wouldn't fly. But, it's Apple. Everyone is obsessed with their Macs and they get away with murder. You are swept under the rug unless you complain. I'm still upset at this point, but hopeful. I was called on Monday by the manager and informed that they were 'still checking on it', and I'd be called by another manager on staff the following day. She called, and I was informed that they didn't find it. Surprise. I said, 'I'm a bit put off by being told that it's just 'too bad' if it's not found. Your employee (name withheld) knew that I wanted it.' I'd dealt with him before with no issue. Nice guy, and on-the-ball. The manager defended the employee and stated that it wasn't his fault, it was someone else's, and informed me that they now have implemented a way to ensure that this doesn't happen in the future. Great. Glad I could be an example. She was getting clipped in tone with me, and stated, 'We did look for it.' As though it was a favor. I said, 'Your employee sent my hard drive away. It's the least you guys could do, really. May I have the name of the employee, I need to file a complaint about this.' And, this, this is what is amazing. 'I cannot do that.' She said. I asked her why and she said it 'wasn't relevant.' I wasn't asking for the code to their Genius Bar back room, for Pete's sake, I was asking for a name so that I could direct a well-deserved complaint toward their superiors. She was getting impatient, and I was done, so I hung up. I plan on contacting their headquarters. I doubt that anything will be done, based on how they deal with things in their store, but it's worth a shot. Apple protects their own, or at least that particular manager (the previous manager that I dealt with was much better to deal with) did. I informed her that I'd file a complaint against the store itself, and while *that* would most likely be swept under the rug, as well, as 'too bad', at least people would know. My advice, check and double-check on the people dealing with your property and your personal information. As long as you're paying top dollar for their merchandise and taking their explanations for their missteps with a smile, you're golden. And there aren't many other locations to take your Mac, overall it's a good product, and well, they know that. You're basically at their mercy when things go very wrong and you still need your machine. Gotta love monopolies. If you have a problem and want to call them out -- good luck. You'll get no offer for reimbursement for their mistake. read more

I love Apple stores. I don't own Apple products exclusively, in fact I have very few Apple items, but something about their stores really appeals to me. I love the wide open spaces, and I love being able to play with all their products. I've gone to this location several times. There's usually a small crowd. It can be tough to get the attention of the staff, but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for one to wait on me. The biggest reason this store has a special place in my heart: My ipod broke after spending a day in my purse. It was quite devastating. I tried fixing it, I tried getting others to fix it. No one could help. So I ventured into the Apple store, cradling my ipod, expecting the worst. It was some holiday; I've never seen the place busier. I waited in line for a couple minutes for an employee to help. I figured it would be bad: I just knew my ipod was broken, my songs were gone, and I'd have to buy a replacement. But after spending a few minutes with an Apple guy, my ipod was alive and well! Truly, it was the highlight of my day, probably my week. read more

If I could own every available apple product... I would. I'm obsessed with the computers (which I finally own), iPads, iPods (yes, I still use one when I workout), and iPhones. The employees here go above and beyond to meet all your needs. The products speak for themselves. The only problem with the Apple Store is the wait... You cannot go in there without waiting forever. SO MAKE SURE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! Also, if you decide to buy something during tax free weekend, you can pre-order it online and when you pick it up to pay for it, they will automatically deduct the tax. We already own a plethora of Apple products, but we decided to visit for a Video Lab. My son was mainly interested in learning how to do it and Steve was fantastic with both of my kids. He threw in some common sense life lessons as they encountered obstacles making their video and worked through them. Incredibly slow and rude! I walked in during my lunch break to have my phone looked at which had stopped charging. Instead of doing a quick look, they had me schedule an appointment and come back an hour later. Good bye lunch break. The person I spoke with didn't even acknowledge other customers as she made small talk with another customer, and then other employees. All the while, a line of angry customers was forming. I don't know why they schedule appointments if they don't keep them. They make the cable company service look spectacular. Once I got to the store, I waited 40 minutes for my appointment, so I basically had to take off work and wait around the store for someone to see me about replacing my iPhone under warranty. And then they didn't even have any in stock. How does a company that only sells a few models of phones not have any in stock? Can't they manage inventory better? Why is there only one store when there clearly is a demand for more? I killed time in there by browsing the Samsung Galaxy website on their big screen desktop computers :) They are clearly understaffed and poorly managed. All the customers in the store are treated like cattle. I have had enough. This is my last Apple product. read more

Horrible service. Defected phone with a screen protector. Replaced the phone but not the screen protector. If the phone wasn't detected I would not have to replace the screen protector. When you replace something replace it all which is the definition of service. I DO NOT recommend this store. They employees are here to check in at 10am and leave at 8pm that's it. read more

Unlike the Apple stores in the Atlanta area, this one is a lot more spacious and you don't feel like you're crammed in like sardines. Staff here has always been helpful to me in the past when I lived in Memphis, and saved my butt when my iPhone stopped charging recently on a trip back home. Overall I think the people here are much more friendly than in the Atlanta stores, simply because they have more of a "hometown" personality about them. That makes the whole experience in stepping into this location much more enjoyable. You don't feel rushed to get what you need and get out of there... read more

I used to think the Apple Store and their products were about integrity and good customer service. Over the past few years they are lacking on this aspect that is supposed to make them great. My comp is technically 5 yrs old. But in 5 yrs I have had my hard drive replaced 3 times. And had countless software repairs. I feel like every time I take my MacBook in, I don't get the proper repair. Though the body of my laptop might be 5yrs old my hard drive replacements make it brand new every time. However every time something goes wrong, their only answer is that my comp is old. Makes no sense. Either they don't know anything about comps or they think I don't. Though I am not an expert I know more than they think having assembled a whole comp myself in the past. And why do I have to pay to keep my own old hard drive that I have already paid for in the past ?!? I needed to back up things on my comp. And my comp wouldn't start because as always the hard drive failed again. So they said I could have my old hard drive and try to get things backed up from it. But I'll have to pay to keep the hard drive even though I have paid for it in the past and its mine. Also I am already paying for a new one! And I am someone who doesn't even use the MacBook as much. I don't even move it. Or take it to work. Therefore I can't understand why my hard drive keeps failing!! They told me it was due to movement. Which I rarely do, and they didn't have an answer once I told them that. Anyways, at the end after speaking to the manager there, we were able to come up with a solution to my old hard drive. He was pretty helpful. Let's just hope my new hard drive lasts this time! read more

Yes you do have to pay, but you get everything that you could possibly imagine service wise product wise etc... If you find that you're being treated rudely, complain. It's that simple. The boyfriend has been having trouble with his MacBook Pro, so I accompanied him to the Apple Store today for his approximately 4th repeat visit. A good twenty minutes early, we were greeted at the door, quickly directed to someone who signed us in, and sent to sit at the Genius Bar , where a passing employee assured us he'd be with us shortly. True to his word, Kyle came back to us and inquired what the problem was, noting the stack of paperwork the boyfriend had pulled out. Fluidly multi-tasking between us and the folks next to us, he examined the recurring problem, got a manager to take a quick look, and went into the back a few times, all while we surfed the web in an attempt to replicate the problem. He eventually announced that, good news, due to the number of times the computer had come back with the same issue, they would be offering my boyfriend a new machine, and even better news, he could pay the difference to upgrade to the newer model (about $400). While doing the paperwork, Kyle realized that due to the particular model the boyfriend had, he would actually receive the newer model for no additional charge. Several employees who had previously helped the boyfriend congratulated him on the news as they passed by, and we were quickly processed and sent on our way with a brand new MacBook with Retina display. The boyfriend commented that, while it was certainly a frustrating process, all the folks who helped him were very nice, and it certainly had a good outcome! I was impressed by the level of service and attention we received...and now I'm a little sad that I'm a PC girl. Maybe in my next life... read more

WOW- apparently I got the WORST custmr service rep EVERY asked abt a legit discount & the kid yells that "EVEN STEVE JOBS DOESN'T GET A DISCOUNT ON THE iPAD!!!!" Wow- WTF? I was asking a question not demanding a discount- he continued on his rant that he didn't feel the need to "sugar coat anything" & he was just "telling me how it was...." Really? It would have been nice if you told me something about the product- then maybe I wouldn't be returning it. Note: This review is based on customer service, not the quality of the products. The store and products are great. The ambiance is a bit excessive. Some customers prefer to browse. Apparently, some employees cannot respect this preference. A short lady forced her help upon me, when it was not welcomed. So, I played along and asked questions. However, she repeatedly cut my questions and comments short in an attempt to anticipate my next thought. I asked her about certain spec differences in the latest iPhones, and she could only tell me general spec differences. This is no problem, but I politely ask her to refer me to an employee who has knowledge of these specs. Instead, she proceeds to show me spec differences displayed on the apple pricing app. Overall, it was a really forced and uncomfortable conversation. After prying my self from the conversation to look at mac accessories, she proceeded to follow me halfway around the store and tell me information that I had not inquired about when I wanted to start my browse that I still had not begun. read more
