Update! We bought a new imac!!! We came here on a Saturday evening back in October. I can't remeber the name of the woman who assisted us but she was excellent. She provided us with the right information & anwsered our questions in an intelligent manner. Oh! FYI- If you usually don't spend $2000 on your debit card on one sale make sure to bring your checkbook. The company who processes the transaction refused our card! This Apple location is so disorganized and does not have enough staff for the amount of customers that come into the store. One employee helped me and did not know hardly anything about the product I was asking about. Employees are just standing around and talking when customers need to be helped. It's frustrating and I've decided to just buy on Apple.com since I can get more information about products from their website than any Apple employee working at this location. read more

My iPhone was having problem with the charging port. Staff was quick to replace it with a new iPhone. Employee Trip was able to put on a screen protector for me. He was very friendly and helpful. For how busy they were they got me in and out in a timely matter. read more

Bought a computer, faulty keys. The replacement, also faulty keys. They pushed me off to 1-(800) MY-APPLE who said I could drop it off at the store. I tried, and they said I should mail it myself. If I left it with them, they wouldn't give me a receipt nor confirm the return. If it gets misplaced, it would be my responsibility. The best part, despite speaking with the manager who confirmed he would not comply Apple's email instructions, he reported Apple Store Saddle Creek has lost other customers' computers but that's not his problem... it's the customers. So, I mailed it. Apple once had the best products and the best service, but things are different now. I guess they are too big to care about any individual customer. read more

Did not even suggest I talk with Genius Bar. Told me to call Apple Tech. So I leave the store call Apple Tech. Waited an hour and no Tech ever picked up my call. this is the worst place i've ever been to in my life. ok, maybe that's a slight exaggeration. *slight* i was at my parents house for a week, doing some work and eating some BBQ and my laptop battery went on strike. it wouldn't charge and i could only use my laptop when it was plugged in. a pain for two reasons: i'd hoped to work by my friend's pool and i always get my best writing done on the plane. i was looking forward to that five hour writing jaunt in a few days. i drove alllllll the way out to the apple store in germanton. geoff and i have gone to the apple store in union square (in sf) a zillion times-- we have three macs and about five ipods between the two of us. it's always teeming with people, being the flagship store and all. sometimes we have to wait an hour- no big deal, we'll go shop elsewhere and come back. i figured how many people could be at the germantown store on a lazy sunday afternoon? i was right. there were about 20 people in there including my dad and me and the employees. i walked up to the genius bar and saw a sign saying they weren't taking any more appointments today. What? i assumed that couldn't be right. THERE WERE FIVE GUYS STANDING BACK THERE! one quarter of the store's inhabitants! and two of them were doing NOTHING. i asked, and the snarky "oh-look-at-me-i'm-the-snooty-mac-ad-incarnate" so-called "genius" informed me that indeed they weren't taking any more appointments. I looked around. "There's like five people in here and i have a really big problem. you can't just take a quick look? i'm willing to wait" "no" me: "well are there any other mac stores around?" him: "you could drive to knoxville." thanks f-er. a simple "we're the only store in memphis would have sufficed." i stormed out. and knocked over a display of useless ipod accessories on the way out. i turned around at the door and told them they all sucked. that they didn't really get what it was like to be a genius bar employee. that san francisco *invented* the snarky hipster and they were at best cheap imitations. ok, i did none of that. but i was really mad. and i felt somewhat childish for being so mad. until two things happened: 1. we went to another mac repair lady, who was very nice but also no help at all and she confirmed the germantown apple store was the worst thing on the planet. 2. i went to my old friend the union square apple store. they were FANTASTIC. fixed me up in a jif and were so so so super nice. even though it was packed. amazing really. read more

LOVE THIS STORE. Today my husband left his iPhone on top of the car at wolfchase mall. We drove away, realized about an hour later what he had done, and found it on Germantown parkway. It had been ran over several times and was completely useless. We visited the AT&T store on hwy 64. The sales lady told us it would cost $400 for the same exact phone. ($200 for the phone, and $200 to replace since our contract hasn't expired yet) Needless to say we were not happy at this point. A customer directs us to the apple store. As soon as we arrive, the reps greet us at the door and ask what we need. They put our names in the system and tell us to browse and they will have someone with us shortly. The store was packed. Our rep Steve takes a look at the mess of what used to be our iPhone. We played on some of the iPods while we waited. 15 mins later, Steve comes back with a brand new phone and says it's completely free of charge. FREE! 15 mins in and out and saved $400! I was really anticipating the worst when I saw the low reviews of this store. There aren't any other options here, so I sucked it up and headed out to finally bite the bullet and get my first iPhone. Yes, I Erica B, am a convert. Truth be told, I'd like to shove my Android where the sun don't shine, but that's a totally different review. The lovely Miss Casey helped me out with my purchase, which was quick and painless.I was so confused by the whole process and the neatness of it all. This place was packed to the gills and there were at least 10 employees helping folks. We did everything on a phone (was it a phone? A walkie-talkie? Hell I don't know) she had in her pocket and suddenly a gal showed up at my side with my iPhone 4s in its cute little box and I thought we were on our way. But no! What's this? A station where you show me how to use my new phone? You're kidding right? T-mobile never did this. Casey got called away on her lunch break and a lovely gent by the name of Curt continued to walk me through my phone while simultaneously helping another guy with his iPad and a gal with her MacBook. He was friendly, helpful, hella smart on the topics at hand and did an excellent job of making us all at ease with one another. Dare I say it, I think I made some new friends at the Apple bar! Curt also made sure that I got the info for upcoming classes as I will need a whole bunch of syncing between my MacBook Pro and iPhone. I have nothing negative to say about this place or the staff. It sucks that so many had poor experiences, I can only hope that perhaps my good fortune was because they took the complaints seriously. read more

Being the Apple fangirl that I am, I always wanted to visit the Apple Store. The opportunity for me to go was when I wanted an Apple Watch. So, I visited the store after I found out that the color I wanted in the Apple Watch Series 2 was in stock. I arrived there at the middle part of the day. It was packed. The new look of the store was better looking than the old one (I've never been inside the old one). I had to ask someone for assistance with getting the watch. He set me up with a specialist. While I waited, I saw the watches in the cases and had an opportunity to try on a watch for fit. The wait time was about 5 minutes. Then, Marie (the specialist) came to me. I told her what I wanted. She was very friendly and helpful and got everything that I needed. She was wearing almost the same watch that I purchased! A cool thing is that they use the iPhones as cash registers. The visit took me no more than 15-20 minutes. I really enjoyed my time! I didn't need an appointment, but I will reflect on what a lot of people have said: make an appointment. It gets crowded. Parking in this area is snug as a bug in a rug on an ant farm. It was rather packed for a Tuesday evening but I saw a few decent stores scattered around and a steakhouse that seemed popular so that makes sense. I had to replace an accessory and that was handled professionally and well. I also purchased a different accessory. I wanted a new case but they don't have many designs. It's all basic and standard. I usually don't look in the Apple Store for cases. I wish they had more excitable designs. Joseph gave me five star service. read more

I'm not going to go into the prices of Apple products, because those are set by the company and they can't help that something costs what it does. Nor am I going to go into the products themselves, just rating the store itself. I'm giving it three stars because...I've really been to better stores with more service, although the service itself is okay when you do finally get helped. Sometimes when I walk into the store, I'm immediately accosted and asked if I need help. If this is the case and I say I'm just looking (perhaps I'm wanting to look around first before I ask for help), I'm totally screwed. No one is going to come up to me again until I stand in front of a computer and look around the store for help for about 15 minutes. That's absolutely ridiculous. If I forfeit the offering of immediate help, I thereby waive my right to any help during my visit and will get bumped before people who walk in the door while I'm looking around for a free employee? No I'm sorry, instead of having a slew of people waiting to pounce on people right when they walk in the door, maybe have an employee or two walking around asking if people need help. One positive about Apple Stores in general is the Genius Bar. It's great to have a place where you can bring in your computer if there's a problem that's a bit more accessible than the help areas at other stores, such as Best Buy. One tip though: I definitely suggest making a reservation. If you don't, you could get all the way down there and be told that all spots for the day are full and you can only make an appointment to come down the next day. I don't have a problem with that at all though, and love the convenience of making an appointment, walking in, and having someone able to look at my computer right away...more or less. The downside? If you have to drop off your electronics, the communication is crap. I was having problems with the keyboard on my laptop, I had thought this would be a quick fix they could do right away. Nope, I had to leave my laptop. Ooookaaay...I was told it'd be fixed the next day. Nope. Two days later, I call. They say they'll call me when it's ready the next day. Still no call. Basically, don't believe them when they say they'll call, because they don't. You will have to keep pestering them every day (or twice a day in the morning and evening) if you want to know the status of whatever you dropped off. The employees themselves are helpful when they do assist you, whether it's someone at the Genius Bar or an employee telling you whether you should get the MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, or even assisting with software or hardware (speakers, printers, etc.). Another plus? All employees have phones (or tablets, I forget which) that have full purchasing capabilities, meaning they function as a handheld register. So let's say someone's helping you decide which computer you want, and you decide to go ahead and buy it. They can ring it up for you right where you're standing, you don't have to make your way to a counter and wait in line. Talk about convenient. Plus, you can even have your receipt emailed to you (or they can print it out right there). read more

The Apple Store ain't what it used to be. A panoply of diversity, this store has someone to look at for everyone. They really show off their diversity. The problem comes when you actually need something. Of course the Apple products remain pretty much the same but could they change out some of the non-Apple merchandise more often than every decade or so? Then the bigger problem comes when you find that something to purchase and then it has a problem and you need support. You call the support number so you can get an appointment here at DiversityLand and you find that the next available appointment is days away in the future. Oh, wait, they say. You can go by and see if they can fit you in. So I came here for a fit-in and was IMMEDIATELY told no they have no openings and there's no use in hanging around. Now I believe In being honest with your customers but when you're a trillion dollar company, I would think you might staff your store with enough geniuses to handle the problems your customers have with those devices in timeframes that don't go days off into the future. read more

I like Apple products, but the whole concept of no registers is awful. I had to wait 20 minutes to track down someone and practically had to BEG them to take my money for a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. Bring back the registers! I'd gladly wait in line. read more

If you are ever in this store - seek out Sherreka H. She's one of the most helpful Apple folks you will ever meet. On launch day of the iPhone 2.0, she spent three hours helping me navigate thru the difficulties between Apple and AT&T. I was her only customer all morning, but she didn't give up until we worked thru all the technical difficulties... She made call after call to AT&T and to Apple. Finally we got it done and she was fantastic. The Managers, on the other hand, in particular Randy D. are so afraid of confrontation, that they hide out and avoid customers who they think will be difficult like a plague. I was totally disappointed in this type of attitude while Sherreka was trying to get resolution, Randy would hide in the back and wasn't helpful in the least. read more

Well, it's been over a year since my last review of the Germantown Apple Store, but I've had more recent experiences with them that garner attention on my commentary. I am still not a Mac user, I still have far too many programs running only Windows compatibility that are necessary to my work and have seen too many issues with BootCamp to become a fan or even a user. However, my wife is still a MacHead and we still require the occasional venture into the Apple Store for repairs and/or purchases. I'm guessing that someone up the line got wind of what was happening with this location as some recent changes (recent in the sense of less than a year) have transpired and created a somewhat better and more approachable staff. Most notably a new member of management at this store, I believe her name was Jennifer. She was very courteous and polite. One last issue still remains, however, and I assume that it is a matter of corporate policy and not local store behavior that I still deem as unfitting. The fact that I am overwhelmed by the feeling of entering, what I can only describe as a Nazi-esque environment, is displeasing. I do not appreciate the fact that upon entering the door you are promptly and abrasively questioned as to your reason for being in the store and directed in a manner as if I were a prisoner of war being directed to your appropriate position. I'm always waiting each time I enter to be told, "You go to this line and wait, NOW!" "Do not move or you will be severely punished!" I realize that this is, of course, a bit overzealous on my description...but not by much. If you want my opinion Apple, which I'm sure you don't, allow people to enter the store and peruse your products at their leisure. Assure that staff approaches them in a casual manner within a few minutes of their entry to inquire about their needs, but make it a comfortable and inviting environment, please. Be well! read more

Simply the best customer service in the Memphis metro area. In fact, Apple stores around the country are the best of any business in delivering an amazing customer experience. I've never had a problem at this store. I have been in many, many times and I've always been treated like a rockstar. Money can't buy this kind of treatment. Went in yesterday to get my battery replaced. Had already prepared my phone by backing it up as suggested and knew my Apple account info. I was greeted before the door closed behind me . Made it to the check in guy and let him know that I had a reservation and he found it and directed me to the waiting area. He ended up being the one to help me. Got my phone checked in and I ended up having to leave it for 2 hours which was ok with me. Came back at 11:45 and my phone was ready!! Only thing is, my battery was at 20% which was annoying but a rep let me charge it before we left. I wish they had just had it on charge while we were gone. read more

Okay, no big deal except they did not contact me and I assume they didn't contact anyone else that made an appointment that same day. Even though most of the other stores around were open they were not and it is their responsibility as a service to reschedule the appointments that they missed. I saw some poor reviews but figured I was only going to just look and not buy so it wouldn't really matter. When we went there, we looked at some products then added our name for a specialist to come and answer some questions for a specific product. We were 3rd in line. We waited about 10 minutes before our specialist, Cameron, came over. I was pleasantly surprised at his knowledge of it and his extra advice that went above and beyond. I'm an Apple fangirl, and even I get on my nerves. The Apple culture can be annoying and pretentious. But the people in this store are actually very helpful and not too good for you. They are also pretty quick as long as you have an appointment. Another thing I never noticed till my most recent visit was that they have a table for kids with iPads loaded with games, which is SO helpful since I got to the store way too early for my iPhone exchange and my 3 year old was fidgety. For those who might have a bad experience, I find that if you tell them (really at any Apple store, not just this one) that you own a lot of Apple stuff in a roundabout way, even if you really don't, you get treated much better. "Yeah, I think my iPad and Macbook are lonely without the iPhone in working order.. haha." Lots of people do go into these stores just to play, and I'm sure that gets tiring when you're in there all day working. Overall, it's not a bad store. It's kind of small, but I read they're looking at expanding. read more

My first I-Phone I bought the extended memory which had a monthly charge of .99 cents. In order to do this I had to put my credit card information in and it allowed me to save certain files and such. Then one day I got an e-mail with A receipt from Apple for a 100 bucks...try as I may I could not find out why they charged me a hundred bucks...I talk with the credit card company and they referred me back to Apple which was like referring a dying man to an outhouse instead of an E/R...so in frustration I went into my phone and removed all my credit card information...this eliminated the possibility of a monthly charge for extended memory but it also eliminated the possibility of a fraud on my credit card which I would have to pay because Apple is definitely not in the business of helping people prevent this...two days ago I get a receipt from Apple...this time for 49 bucks...charged to my now non existent credit card...mad is not a nice word to say and what I said makes it pale in comparison...so I left really early this Am and went to their Saddle Creek location...was there at 10 AM promptly and immediately the tech was busy with a long line waiting...sort of like Walmart at Christmas...all the registers closed except one and thirty five thousand people wanting to check out...I got in line and waited...and waited...and I waited...while the morning sun burnt thru' their plate glass window heating up all their customers...finally I said screw it...screw Apple...I will buy me a new phone and it sure as hell won't be an Apple product...would not piss on Apple...or their long line of products that allow outsiders to attack their personal resources with impunity...someone should file a class action lawsuit against them for allowing these thefts to take place so easily and not providing protection against being compromised...and they need to hire more than just one tech rep to service customers...sorry ass products...sorry ass people with an attitude...!!!! read more

Employees not knowledgeable about their products. They're only trained to take your money. Buying from the mac store is like buying fast food, you should already know whats on the menu and not make any changes, because otherwise your order is just going to get screwed up. Love it here. This had to be one of the best place in Tennessee with customer service in which this state is lacking but again it is Apple. They are very helpful and will talk to you about all your concerns and very kid friendly. As I was there for my nephew and niece purchasing them a new iPod touch. Worst customer service ever! Arrived ahead of appt time on Monday, only to be told 30 minutes after my appt time there were 5 people ahead of me. (during this wait time, there are many Apple workers roaming the sales floor) Cancelled appt, rescheduled for another day. Returned for appt, Genius bar person was 5 minutes late, for first appt of the day. I explained my problem ( lost data after backing up, transferring purchases, and syncing) Looking down at her computer, she says I am truly sorry for your lost data, but there is nothing I can do. Never made eye contact. I love Apple products, but I am so tired of their too cool for school employees. VERY POOR customer service. read more

Well usually when you come to this place it's pretty chaotic to be the most blunt. My phone was having issues with the battery dieing pretty quickly. Which I will say having apple care insurance is the best thing you can ever do. Now I came in and was promptly greeted and asked what I was there for. Gave the girl my case number and was told to sit by the laptops in the corner. Now usually when you're told to wait it's forever there but I was actually helped under half an hour. Got helped and a few hours later got a new replacement phone. That's pretty awesome service for sure. read more

This place is always fun to go inside of. The staff is friendly, the gadgets are cool to look at, and the atmosphere is amazing. I was having some trouble with my Apple TV remote, so I called Apple tech support, and they suggested for me to bring it to an Apple Store to see if they can help me. Low and behold, after I had scheduled an 11:30 am appointment the next day, they replaced the remote with no questions asked. I love coming here! read more

The initial appointment I had was to purchase a mac. After before my shuffled to five different people, our final associate Andrea was awesome. Our luck the store was completely out of inventory of the product we wanted. Was told shipments come in everyday. Called to check in inventory, the call center absolutely sucks! It was impossible to get connected to the actual store. When you are dropping $4500.00 in one store I expect way better customer service. The call center alive is making me rethink my decision on purchasing an Apple product! read more
