Well I recently upgraded my phone and was in and out within 30 minutes. That's the only plus. The salesman was rude and pushy. He was basically trying to tell me Verizon was ripping me off and Apple was better. Hello - Apple doesn't offer wireless so I'm stuck with Verizon. I'm not too sure what his point was but he seemed to want me to lease or pay the phone monthly. Not sure. While waiting to finish my transaction I observed another employee rolling her eyes as she walked away from a customer and another employee with the dirtiest greasy hair I've ever seen in that store. Hello again everyone.. See I don't just eat I shop too.. Today it's a trip to Rockaway mall to hit up the Apple Store.. Let me tell you, if I had any other option I'd take it.. I came here to fix my wife's phone. I have been to an Apple Store in the past, so I knew the drill. You have to register the night before or you may not be seen. I did this. Well anyway, my appt was for 1:20 I arrived about 12:20 and was told they couldn't get me in before my appt. (this I understand) so I walked around the mall with the kids until the time had come. When I get there I'm informed a new screen is $129 + tax.. Kinda pricey, but it's for my wife so I don't mind. The "Genius" that helped me tells me it's going take another 1 1/2 to repair the screen.. Ok so I get some lunch do some more shopping and come back.. Phone still not done.. Try telling 2 kids that have been here 3 hours that we have to stay another hour before the phone is finished... There going insane.. My wife is livid 4 hours to fix a phone when I had an appt scheduled the day before is ridiculous.. Never again!!!! Next time she gets her own phone fixed... read more

... we love the Apple Store! We have had some problems with synching an iTouch and iPhone on the same MacBook, which should not be a problem. Made an appointment to see a Genius at the Apple Store in Rockaway, NJ. This is a small store, but very good in service, training and an ok selection of goods (due to space). The Genius' here are great! So are the trainers! We have found them very helpful and attentive (like all others). Consistency is good! The Genius has managed to get his sleeves rolled up and tackled our problems "tout suite". The problem was not trivial, and involved a lot of technical mumbo jumbo, Apple Corporate dudes, chatting to an Apple Server guy (for the Apple Cloud), etc. All in all - entertaining and interesting. Got it solved! I highly recommend the Apple Store in Rockaway Mall. You won't be disappointed! read more

Made an appointment with the Genius Bar for my 2012 MacBook Air. It wouldn't start up despite being charged. After the staff member took the machine back to the Genius Bar area, he came back and said he had no idea what was wrong with it, that it's too old for Apple's diagnostic tests, and that it would cost more to fix the machine than the machine is worth. I've never received such poor service or lack of a thorough investigation. The machine was in perfectly good condition. After going home and using Google, I was able to figure out what the issue was (I'm not even remotely knowledgeable about the inner-workings of a MacBook), but Google helped me solve the problem myself and I was able to salvage my $1,200 machine. Don't waste your time with Genius Bar; use Google and you'll likely have better luck. read more

Had a cracked screen replaced here. They never emailed me my receipt and it's annoying because I was not offered a paper copy. Also, right after my screen was replaced my battery drains so fast. I'm talking about getting maybe one hour out of a full charge (I don't even have to be using the phone). Basically my phone is constantly plugged in and I better not forget to bring a portable charger with me. Stay away! read more

He was extremely polite and patient with my questions! He went above and beyond to solving the issues quickly! Extremely well kept Apple Store. The Apple team does a good job and works together pretty well, but they surprisingly are very indifferent to the customer and don't really even listen to the customer. I've purchased an iPhone XR (no SIM card) for my 70 year old mother and witnessed the sales person patronizing her while we were rushed through the purchase. Later I purchased in-full an iPhone 11 for myself and after clearly telling them I didn't want the carrier-sim model (which requires an unnecessary $40 sim activation) the sales person came out with the SIM card model and told me that I could just call my carrier and ask for an exception (at the cost of my own time)..I didn't feel like arguing then turning my day negative, and went with it as $40 isn't a big deal to me. Most recently, with the Covid curbside pickups, I purchased an iPad Pro, pencil and free AirPods...yet again, another indifferent handoff for a purchase total just shy of $1000. What prompted me to review now was how I was recently given a run-around in-person when, after calling the store phone number to confirm exchanges (air pods are very bad! Air pods pro aren't as bad) were acceptable to do, and when I did I was immediately met with a hyper verbal delivery of "no we aren't setup for exchanges outside" and to come by next week when the mall opens again by a salesperson with blue hair and stretched hoop earlobes. So much for the employees all being on the same sheet of music in terms of customer service. I tried again the next day with someone different, and was given the almost same exact response, but I name dropped the person I spoke with on the phone, from their store phone number who said it was fine to curbside exchange, and after an initial "no" response, they reluctantly said they could and did the exchange. Know what you need to buy before going here to avoid getting treated poorly, or better yet just buy online and have it delivered to avoid their the Rockaway Store's terrible micro aggressions, customer treatment and inability to listen! read more

Went in for a simple repair (battery replacement) and they broke my entire phone. While, they admitted their fault and gave me a new phone for the price of the battery, they were extremely rude about it. They expected me to be grateful they were giving me a phone, like they forgot why they had to give me the phone in the first place. Spent several hours getting my phone set back up, and have lost some photos in an incomplete back up (which I admit is my fault). My old phone had a brand new glass screen protector, which they did not offer a replacement for, even after I asked. Something that should have been very simple turned into a 4 hour, tear-filled ordeal. The manager, Tom, while a little helpful with the set up of the new phone, was condescending and the one who expected I be grateful for them trying to fix their mistakes. Instead of bothering with this next time, I will be switching back to Android. read more

I had appointment today and was seen almost immediately! I could walk you through how they solved my problem, but more importantly I just want to mention how thankful I am that they did! Carmine, Ian, and RJ went above and beyond in all aspects of the job. Carmine was incredibly positive and went through more steps than I can count in attempts to get my phone up and running again. His 7 years of experience with Apple are not only noticeable in his technical skills, but also with the passion and personality he brings to the table. (Or should I say the Genius Bar?..) My phone was defective and out of warranty so there wasn't much he could do, but he kept trying! Once I realized my phone wasn't coming back, Carmine and Ian walked me through my options on what to do next. They were not solely interested in making a sale, but were interested in helping me as a human being. Ian was incredibly knowledgeable and understanding about my situation, accommodating me in ways I would never expect from an establishment. RJ was very personable and walked me through every step of the way in setting up my new phone. I cannot emphasize how lucky Apple is to have these three men on their team! I love apple products but why do I hate the store so much? Let me explain. First off who in there right mind could even walk around in this god damn place it's like nobody has ever seen an apple product before. Secondly don't bother coming to them if you having problems with last years model of anything they'll just say "How about you buy the new one?" such was the case with me. The arrogance of Apple employees always baffles me. The process of getting a warranty repair was absurd. We were also here on a night that the mall was open until 11pm, and the store hours said 11pm, but at 10:15 they were not letting people in the store, and by 10:30pm the place was empty. My mom forgot her initial password and needed help to reset it. When we entered the store, a girl with black hair and tattoos offered to help us.but after numerous times of asking her to guide us through it she kept leaving and spoke to us as if we were total morons. I went in to get a replacement battery for my iPhone 6. I had heard that Apple was aware of the issue & was offering replacement batteries. The store was busy. The Geniuses were mostly busy, except for a chatty group in the corner. Approximately 3 hours & $30.92 later, I had my new battery. The next day, I called someone & realized that I couldn't hear them, unless I went to Speaker. I was near my Verizon store, so I went in, explained the problem, and they said that someone else was in with the same problem. Apparently, it has to do with the way the speaker wires were affected, when the battery was installed. I've emailed Apple. Waiting for a response. Looks like I'll be making another long trip & spending an afternoon at the Apple store. read more

If you own an Apple product, then this store is for you!!! Although it's the smallest of all the electronics retailers in the mall, it makes up for it by having plenty of Apple products to try out, including Macs, Ipads, and Ipods. My dad came here to fix his Ipod Touch which had a color issue; it turned out that he mistakenly changed something!!! Avoid going to this store if something big and new by Apple comes out!!! read more

I've made eye contact with them and acknowledged them and basically been ignored, I'm just trying to return a loner phone and get mine back but I'm ignored. I wish I looked at the review and saw the 2.5 stars this store received before booking my appt. I went to this location because it was the only one in a 30mi radius with an appt the same day. My Mac stopped working and I needed it fixed ASAP. I go on, and a "Genius" takes a look at my Mac and it's determined that it needs to go in for a repair. I asked if my data/docs are on the Mac and his response was a curt "no". Me, flabbergasted that this expensive NEW laptop suddenly malfunctioned asked how this was possible his response, "well that's why I tell people to back up their files". THAT moment was not the time to patronize someone who lost their files due to a defective computer aka their fault. I said I don't need to be patronized, but what's the next steps, he proceeds in his curt manner *sign here, sign here, we'll call you*. I get a call to come in several days later to retrieve my repaired Mac. Same "genius" comes out hands me a sheet and the laptop back and says we replaced this and that. I said okay is there a reason or explanation as to why it malfunctioned, *well it says we replaced the.....* okay but that doesn't explain WHY???? *oh you can call Apple Support 1800 APPLE CARE* CALL APPLE SUPPORT WHEN IM SPEAKING TO A "genius" in the flesh??? I proceed to turn on the Mac because I was told I would have to set up again since it was wiped clean and I ask okay so what are next steps?? What should I do? Oh next steps are to sign right here, I say I'm not signing anything until I check out this computer first & make sure it works before I leave. & it went further down hill.. manager got involved he even LIED about helping me re set up the computer when all he did was stand there waiting for the signature. The icing on the cake was when I asked that if he can't tell me anything or help me set up what is his job, he said *oh I just bring out the computer* This was the worst service I've ever received at APPLE ever. My wife is literally sobbing tears right now because of the frustration caused by Apple and the lack of help from this store. 2 days ago i spent 1300 bucks on a brand new iPhone XS for a surprise gift for my wife. I gave it to her today for our anniversary, and she was very happy but we could not use iTunes to transfer her old phone to her new phone due to constant errors with iTunes. So we went into the Apple store to have them transfer her stuff. They first tries to get us to go back home and try iTunes again. After we explained that it wont work, they tried to get us to go home and try over iCloud ourselves. At this point, feeling neglected, we went back home and tried iCloud but found we needed to pay to "upgrade" iCloud in order to do the transfer. We did and so many errors have occurred that I can't even remember all the problems right now. The transfer did not work and we are so frustrated and my wife has been crying on and off for the past few hours because we thought Apple wouldn't make it this difficult and we drove all the way to the store and were basically told to go back home. This has been a stressful day. Sorry if some people can do this transfer easily but for us it is not easy. read more

The Apple Store once again showed me why I buy Apple products. It was 8pm when I arrived and had an issue with a home button on an iPhone 6. About a week ago they replaced the damaged screen on my phone and I wasn't sure if it was related . I was in a time crunch and needed to leave in the morning on a trip. The staff jumped into action and immediately I was in contact with the store manager Pete. Even though it was close to closing time and they where slammed they still did everything they could do to make it right . Not wanting me to have any other issues they swapped the phone no questions asked . Pete was extremely professional and knowledgeable and was committed to making sure I was happy. That's what service is all about. The price up front isn't only for the product it's the people behind it that come along with it. read more

Very disappointing experience. Salesperson not knowledgeable or helpful. I purchased a computer anyway as I am still a loyal Apple user. I did not get a thank you or even a bag. Instead the salesperson drifted off leaving me at a table where I was told someone would help me get set up. I wanted to transfer over my files but no one seemed to be able to answer how or where I should do this. Finally I plugged in my backup drive and began transfer. Someone came over and told me this would take 6 hours (it took 30 minutes). Then I was told I was not allowed to do this myself. Apple Genius Bar does this and you must pay them. Still no one was willing to offer me guidance. As files were in midst of transfer I waited. While sitting there a poor woman was calling her son asking him to help her. I was finally rescued by a wonderful lady named Debbie who was personable and knowledgeable. She is the reason I am moving up to 2 stars vs 1 star. The rest of the experience was awful. Unless you really love Macs consider getting a PC. read more

It's super unfortunate how one bad employee can destroy the chance of new prospects for the store. I'm no idiot when it comes to technology and my relatively new iphone was dropped and the screen cracked and the LCD screen was also damaged. I made an appointment and was running 10 minutes late unfortunately but I knew what needed to be fixed and asked how much. The employee barely even looked and told me $250, that I needed a new iphone. Which was a COMPLETE lie. That's not what I needed and I told him he did not even look at it, I asked him if he was sure. He spoke in a VERY condescending manner and said he was absolutely sure that that's what I needed and that I needed to come back in an hour since I was so late. I was polite to him and thanked him for his helped.. walked out of the store about 200 feet away to a little vendor stand that specialized in fixing phones, more specifically screen damage. I was pretty hesitant at first, just leaving my phone with a stranger for a few hours, but the price was incredibly fair and the gentleman was polite and honest and VERY quick to fix the phone. $85 for iphone 4s screen and LCD fix. Point here is, the store itself is great and I watched some other employees actually helping people and being polite. But a few of the people that work there seem to think they are brain surgeons and quantum physicists, I guess it's the almighty "Genius" title they are given that boasts their egos beyond belief, so watch out! I don't know the gentleman's name but he had a mole on one of his cheek bones, so don't approach him, he will make you feel like an idiot and lie through his teeth ripping you off!! read more

Wow! The customer service at this store is horrible. I have dealt with a few in the store that actually know what they are doing but that's it. It's sad to see their customer service really suck. I made an appointment at the Genius Bar to get help with my iPhone. Now, I'm a a stay at home mom with a college degree. I'm not going to say I know everything about my phone but I can usually fix my problem without going to the store. The problem that I had baffled me. The specialist that helped me didn't have a clue about what she was doing. I have an issue when I know more about the device and operating system then the "Genius" helping me. Not only that but the disrespect coming from some of these specialists should have them fired on the spot. There was two specialists making fun of an older gentleman who was in with his phone. He had an issue and they joked behind his back and spoke down to him. I told them they should be ashamed of themselves. The man left upset with watery eyes. Shame on you Apple! Maybe hire some order specialists and people that have manors and respect. read more

Even my 14 year old picked up on that the employees here probably just need a job but they are not knowledgeable. I have been here on 4 different occassions over the past 18 months and walked out of there with nothing all 4 times. They can never help and suggest I call and speak to an expert from home or I could call from the store but why? I wouldn't be able to hear.
