The Apple Store provides products and services related to Apple products. I made an appointment to pickup a new MacBook Air purchase online at the Apple Store. I was also recycling older Apple products for a credit. I made the arrangements online and was provided a barcode when accepted by Apple. This made the recycling process in person at the physical Apple Store quick and convenient. I did have an issue with my old MacBook Pro that I was recycling, however, the employee was able to help me resolve the issue and process the recycling. Awesome!!! The location of the Apple Store at the shopping center is a little tricky to find. I used the digital directory to find the location and weave through the many shops and stores. Lots of paid parking and easy to access from the freeways. Definitely a return visit call!! read more

Apple UTC - The Front - Computers Near Me - San Diego, California

Guy at the front was friendly and checked me in for my Genius Bar appointment and asked me to wait in the back. Waited about 25 minutes and then decided to see what the status was. Asked a man with glasses in the back, and he was pretty rude and was just like we're very busy, which is fine, but then what do we have appointments for? Then he checked to see where I was on the list and saw that I never got checked in and my appointment was cancelled. He was not apologetic and just said it's going to restart me in the queue now even though I had checked in, and I would have a long wait. I didn't want to pay the mall's new fee for parking, so I decided to cancel and he very brusquely did so and walked away. I normally am very chill about customer service, but for a corporation like Apple at a mall as upscale as UTC, I would expect a lot better. read more

At my third visit to the genius bar for a battery issue (first visit - battery replacement; second visit - no change with new battery; third visit - my phone out of warranty and it will cost $450 to look into it). They asked as I was leaving if there was anything else they could help me with and I said no, that I was just sorry I came in at all. Here's the interesting part: my phone suddenly started to act like a phone whose battery had just been replaced. I'll never know the answer as to why it suddenly started to work but it seems they were just goofing with me and laughing at my expense. Or just being incredibly inept. Your choice. In any event, these geniuses seemed to relish keeping people waiting (even with confirmed appointments) while they stood in groups of at least three, just chatting and having a nice time. This is the 2nd Apple store for UTC.  I remember the 1st store had huge lines back in the old days whenever a new Iphone came out.  This new store is big and cool looking.  I was looking to buy a new laptop before the tariffs boosted the prices up.  The M1 based Macbook Pro I was using was running slow as I frequently used up all the ram as I like having lots of browser windows open. Getting another Macbook Pro was not that attractive as the one I was interested in was close to $3k.  The 15" Macbook Air was more attractive as the price was close to $2k.  I tried out both and a friendly knowledgeable employee answered all my questions.  I decided on getting the Macbook Air 15" with 32GB ram and 1 TB ssd.  Apple employee helped me order it with educational discount and said it would be ready in about 2 weeks. Less than 2 weeks later my laptop was ready and I picked it up from another nice employee.  The order and pickup process was easy.  I chose not to have it delivered as I didn't want to leave my laptop on my porch. My sky blue M4 Macbook Air is awesome.  I love the simple elegant design.  The M4 cpu is very fast.  I have not used up all the ram.  Love how thin and light it is at about a pound less than the Macbook Pro.  The 15" screen is bright and has excellent resolution.  Battery has lasted for days.  The only thing I miss is the sound was better on the Macbook Pro.  The Air is missing the bass so drums are missing that deep thump.  I am very happy with my purchase. read more

In the morning on 06-03-26, the floor was almost empty. A staff member, Jill, couldn't answer my questions, so at 11:50 am she offered to set up what she called a "tech appointment" with about an hour's wait. When I asked for an update an hour later, a different employee told me I had no appointment at all -- I'd only been put on a waitlist and started explaining the difference both to Jill and me. I asked for a manager. Instead, I was seated at a table, and left waiting while others were served. When I asked again, a woman named SUSIE said she was the manager -- then, rather than fixing a problem her employee had created, she repeated that I had to wait, promised a tech in ten minutes, and walked away. She never came back (clearly avoiding any further contact). I asked another employee to pass a message to the manager. Instead, in a defensive, arrogant tone, she refused to do so, and when I asked her name, SHE SAID IT WAS NONE OF MY CONCERN, turned her name tag over, and walked off (a young short woman with long curly black hair). After wasting 1.5 hour waiting at the store, I finally walked out. In decades of buying Apple products, I've never encountered a store this dysfunctional, or behavior this rude. read more

Just got my daughter a new Mac Book for college! We visited the Apple Store in UTC. I don't know what it is about this store location, but every single time I have gone into this location (3 times in the last week) it feels like a sauna...it is HOT! Sunday afternoon, the place was packed. We waited about 15 minutes for a salesperson to be able to help us. Once one was available, he was able to quickly get us everything that we needed. It really helps to know what you want when you are shopping with Apple. Staff is always friendly but their handheld POS system is not user friendly. Every purchase I have made here over the years, the employees struggle to ring us up. I get it...they are using cutting edge technology and trying to be completely digital. But it's a struggle. They all (the employees) say it every time. Overall, Apple products are the best. No other option for me. read more

This store is so much more organized than the Fashion Valley location. We had two iPhones that need new batteries. They had one in stock for the 14 but not one for the 15. I asked if the Fashion Valley store had one for the 15. Fashion Valley did. They got me set up and informed Fashion Valley that I would bring my phone there for repair. We decide to get the 14 repaired at UTC and they finished it within an hour. Amazing! The tech that helped us was friendly and very knowledgeable. read more

I only came here because my experience at Apple Fashion Valley was so dismal (another story for another time) which necessitated driving further out of my way to UTC. I would advise, however, anyone using this store (or any Apple Store) to make an appointment beforehand online. Once I checked in for my appointment, I found staff here to be friendly and helpful. This is my local Apple Store and I recently purchased the new Iphone 17 on release day with no pick up order seamlessly. My experience with the store associate there Aero was amazing. I felt this quality was gonna be matched on my next visit as this experience brought me to purchasing a new ipad air. While attempting to trade in my ipad air in store the first time a very kind sales associate told me that the trade in is possible, but I could only get apple store credit back due to a pending mail in trade in. He even went out of his way to tell us how he knows the feeling of wanting the cash back to the original payment method. He quickly provided us with the number to call to cancel the mailed trade in and told us to come back as soon as we canceled it to get a trade in credit back to the original payment. Since I had work I had to come in the next day. Coming in the next morning after cancelling my mail in trade in I was met with an extremely rude manager named Mindy Nguyen. She is the definition of bad customer service. As soon as I mentioned wanted to trade in her smile turned into a frown. I was repeatedly asked who did we trade in with yesterday. Also when told that we were instructed to cancel the mail in and come in for a credit back to original payment Mindy Nguyen kept urging that she can only do a gift card. Even when checking the ipad for trade in she showed me that a gift card can be issued or an original payment method. She explicitly said that she can't and will not do the original payment method since she does not deem it an exception. She stated manager approval is required for it and that she is the manager so she is not approving it. She consistently told us to bring in the ipad purchased and return it to get the trade in credit in person. She provided no resolution and has no concern for peoples time. read more

Came here on Saturday, April 26, and purchased a laptop for my MIL. Once home, my MIL realized she didn't need as big of a hard drive so came back the next day to exchange. A women name Stina was assigned to help and was immediately rude to us. For example, my MIL went to show her what laptop she wanted to exchange for and as soon as my MIL turned her back to us, Stina let out a loud sigh and said to me "I don't know why she feels she needs to show me, she could easily just tell me the name of what she wants" and rolls her eyes. Stina then proceeds to ask my MIL why she wants to exchange it so we explained that she just wanted one with a smaller hard drive. I'm not sure why that concept seemed so difficult to understand, but Stina kept asking us to repeat ourselves and pushing for more details, even asking my MIL what she was planning on using the laptop for. Since it really wasn't any of her business, my MIL was being kind of vague, so Stina got visibly annoyed and ended up just walking away and asking someone else to help us. The original laptop we got was never even opened so the transaction for the return should have been super easy. Ultimately another sweet lady was able to help us (and should mention that she was EASILY able to help us). Do not bother going to Stina for anything. She is a rude and condescending woman. People who get easily frustrated like her should not be working in sales and/or customer service! Everyone in my family have been loyal Apple users for YEARS- and this was the first horrendous experience we've ever had with Apple. So sad. read more

Book online reservations in advance for the best experience, unless you're just stopping by to browse. Staff refused to help me over a technicality they've ignored before, wouldn't accept proof of my husband's ID, the manager was just as dismissive, and they laughed as we were leaving, which shows how unprofessional and poorly trained the employees are and makes it clear this location needs better hiring standards. I used to go to the Carlsbad location, but after two frustrating visits we decided to go to the Apple Store at the UTC Mall and wow, what a difference. I noticed there are quite a few negative reviews on Yelp. Maybe I just got lucky with the team who helped me, but my experience was nothing less than excellent, especially compared to the Apple Store in Carlsbad. From start to finish, the service was great. Jonathan (there are a few Jonathan at that store. He is the bald one with a cap, his words, not mine) was patient, easy to talk to, and helped me find the right Apple Watch, something the other store didn't take the time to do. He also helped my daughter decide between an iPad and a laptop. Mag and Alejandro were just as helpful, and even the security guard twice went out of his way to open the door for me when he saw I use a cane. I'll gladly drive 32 miles to this location instead of 12. That says everything. read more

So I went here to pick up my new iPhone. When you purchase something from the Apple Store online they send you a barcode so they can scan it when you get there and it says bring your I.d as well. I get there and there's a line of people. So like 10 people get to go inside the store at a time. I go in with my group. Guy comes up to us and ask what are we here for.. most of us say we are here to pick up and the rest say here to trade in. So the guy starts scanning barcodes and out of all the people in my group he only ask me for my I.d. And that made me feel some type of way but I kept it pushing and got my phone and left. I went to ask a simple question to see if i should upgrade my iPhone 13 to a new iPhone 17. No one to help upon my arrival although they were three apple associates chatting to each other with no customer around them or in from of them, they acted busy as soon as i walked up to them and disappeared in the crowd. It's best to go to North County Fair or Fashion Valley. This is a poorly managed store. You can go to stand where they tell you to stand and wait an hour and no one will help you. Or someone will ask you want you want and then say they will get someone else to help while you watch people that came into the store be helped because they are trapping salespeople. My Beats Flex stopped turning on so I went to this Apple Store with my wife since I still had the manufacturer's warranty. Darian helped check me in and while we were waiting for a technician, he was informative about other Apple products we were curious about. He wasn't pushy and was easy to talk to. We waited for about 15-20 minutes and then Jesus helped troubleshoot the issue. He determined my Beats had to be replaced so I ordered a new pair to ship to my home with no charge. I received the new product within a few days. Everyone we interacted with at this location was knowledgeable and helped us get through our issue efficiently. We'll be back! read more

BETTER OF THE BATCH (3 stars) We all know going into an Apple Store is a pain in the behind. I've been to ALL Apple Stores in SD county and will say this is probably the better of the batch. NOT the greatest but if I had to pick one, this is the one. EMPLOYEES ARE SUPER FRIENDLY although I came here two days in a row to upgrade and purchase a new watch, we didn't get things working 100%. I spoke with a total of 3, the last one tipped me off who to call and how to go about - that resolved my issue. NO AGGRESSIVE SELLING and I was able to be on my own and browse without a bugaboo following me around and keep checking up on me. For that, I bought what I wanted. WAIT TIME WAS SHORT and I didn't have an appointment for anything. I only waited a few minutes before being seen. Isn't that a miracle?! Seems so unheard of! An extremely aggressive supervisor named Mindy yelled at me while I was trying to replace my iPhone screen under AppleCare. She claimed the deep scratch and crack on the front glass were merely cosmetic and therefore not covered. I challenged her and asked her to read the text beneath the damage; she misread an "i" as an "L," grew even more agitated, and shouted that she was adding a note to my account saying I'd go outside, break my phone, and void future coverage. I am writing this based off of my memory of my negative experiences here. I had a brand new Airpod Max, however it wasn't working well. I had trouble connecting to the my devices like my regular airpods. I completely regret purchasing the Airpod Max because its pretty useless. Since I ran into issues with the airpod max, I came to this store for help. Since this was the only store closest for me as a student. One of my experiences here, I remember being completely ignored by the workers. I had to call apple support on the phone just to get acknowledged in the store. The workers that came to me was completely rude, and disrespectful. I remember one of them was a short young guy, with a ponytail/rattail, dismissing my issues entirely. He was really rude and disrespectful to me the whole time, nothing was ever solved. If you are looking to buy a Airpods Max, I would not, since its pretty much useless to me. I barely used it, and I can't even return it. Its so expensive for the price, and the fact that it doesn't connect smoothly to my devices like the regular airpods, I would save money, and just buy the regular airpods, or look else were for cheaper noise cancelling headphones. read more

My iPhone screen got cracked, and I contacted Apple's online chat support a couple of days ago to explore my options. I was told that I could make an appointment at the Apple Store and have my phone replaced during the appointment. I arrived on time for my appointment at the Apple Store at Westfield UTC. After waiting for 20 minutes, a technician finally arrived, performed a lengthy diagnostic, and informed me that they would not be replacing my phone. Instead, I was told I'd have to leave my phone at the store to have the screen replaced. The technician couldn't even provide a clear timeframe for how long the repair would take, as they were backed up. As a result, I wasted two hours of work due to the lack of clear communication and professionalism from the Apple staff. read more

I went into apple today to pick up a computer that broke after a month of having it, I was told it would be repaired in 7 days but hadn't heard anything for 2 and a half weeks so I went in person. When I got there a pink/red haired girl who worked there rudely asked if I had a question to which I replied asking about my laptop. When I asked about the 7 day repair period that I was provided with when I first brought my computer there, she said "well there's nothing I can do about it so you have to wait" and "so what do you want then" with a disrespectful attitude and a extremely dirty look on her face. I like this Apple store! overall, it feels open and inviting, prefer it to the MV location. The last few times, I ve had to come in to get a little bit of help running BootCamp - and to ask about eGPU questions, the Genius bar employees are always happy to answer questions - and they are the real experts. Making an actual appointment is not as easy as before, now they have you talk to a virtual assistant before if you are doing it online, I do believe this can also be done in store for a future visit. Albeit, there is always new Apple products new macbooks, Mac airs, etc etc, I am still super happy with my purchase back from 2018!... my mac is super quiet, doesn't take up alot of space and is fast! I'm very unhappy. I went in to get my iPad fixed. My charging port needed fixing. Apparently that's not covered under the warranty so had to send my iPad to corporate to get it fixed. It got fixed. BUT THE PROBLEM IS either Apple UTC or APPLE CORPORATE took out my SIM card and didn't put it back in. So when I tried using it (going online without a WiFi) for my work, I couldn't! Went to Verizon and they said I had no SIM card. So I had to purchase another SIM card. This is unacceptable! I am not happy. read more

Mindy has a bad attitude and terrible customer service. She dropped my phone on the table after asking me to take the case off and didn't even apologize just said OOPS. She was not helpful and was very rude. No effort was given in trying to diagnose the phone, instead I was given a bill to replace it. I went home and had my friend who was a former engineer at apple look at it and he was able to get it to stop boot looping. Saved me $550 from Mindy being no help. Mindy has red hair, avoid her at all costs unless you want to be thrown a bill in your face. read more

My phone worked when it was connected to charger but didn't work when not connected. It was an obvious battery issue. I went to Apple UTC twice and talked to two different technicians. They both did diagnosis and gave me a quote of $350 repair cost on something like memory problem. During the second time, they did phone reset trying to fix the issue and that process erased EVERYTHING on my phone. I later went to iTech (itech-sandiego.com) and learned that it was indeed a battery problem. It was fixed with $100. read more

It's REALLY difficult to buy stuff from the Apple UTC Store. I knew what I wanted. They had it in stock. I would expect at most a 15 minute visit. That didn't happen. It actually took FOUR HOURS to buy a computer from Apple with card in hand, product in stock, and exact model number. Four hours. It doesn't help that UTC charges for parking. Apple should have at least one person who is a dedicated "I want to buy this now" cashier. They should actually have a cash register to make this very clear. Instead, they like chaos. Everyone who seems like an employee is pushing sparkling phone cases. And it's unclear where to stand for the hour long line. read more

The level of incompetence at this store boggles the mind. Brought an Ipad in for repair under Apple Care, was told they would have a replacement shipped and it would be available in 2 to 3 days. That was on 11/18. It never happened. Two days ago I stopped in and this time I was told it would be here on the 27th by the end of the day. It is now 11/27 and still no replacement. To make matters worse, I am told by Apple Support that the store up and cancelled my order this morning for no reason and failed to notify me that they did so. I am now working with Apple Support to get this resolved. I would give this store zero stars if that was possible. read more
