I came to this Apple store with my father while he was visiting since he lives in Japan. The wireless beats were out of stock at the time so we decided to order them with the help of one of their staff members. The guy that helped us out was super nice and extremely helpful. HOWEVER, today I came to pick up my order and this is probably the worst experience I've had with Apple by far. I know very little about the ordering process and how things work since I usually get things in person. When I walked in one of their workers asked if she could help me out and I told her that I was picking up an order. She punched in the QR Code and asked for my name. Because the order wasn't placed in my name, she said that I couldn't pick it up because nobody was listed as an alternative pick up person. I understood because obviously Apple products are expensive and they don't want to get in trouble for giving it to someone that isn't authorized, so I asked if I could call my father and let them speak so he could give consent because he bought them for ME and he already flew back to Japan last month. She said no and then said she was going to ask her manager who took at LEAST 10 minutes to pop out. She barely helped in any way and immediately left me high and dry to help another customer without saying anything after that. There's a way to go about helping people or switching from person to person. I've worked in customer service and what she did DEFINITELY was not the way to do it. Once he came out he said that my dad would have to call 1-800 MY APPLE to get my name on the alternative pick up list. I even asked them why nobody said anything while I was here putting in the order WITH THE HELP OF ONE OF THEIR STAFF MEMBERS because this makes the process so much bumpier and just overall annoying. It just baffles me because my dad and I let the guy know that I was picking it up even though we were placing the order through his phone and he said that was fine. All they said was that there was nothing they could do and that I just have to call the number and went about their day. The lady didn't really help let alone cared because my name wasn't on that list and the manager wasn't even trying that much either. I just didn't feel taken care of in any way. I understand that Apple gets busy and they have a lot of customers but that's not an excuse for crappy service. The people on the customer service line were more polite AND helpful in helping out my dad and I especially since we are both in different parts of the country. This is unacceptable and I definitely don't plan on coming back to this location ever again. I'll stick with the Mission Valley location because they never treat customers like this. read more

I have visited this particular location on numerous occasions for various ipods I have owned. I do appreciate being able to make an appointment online and come in and most of the time be taken immediately when my name pops up on the screen at the Genius Bar. The Genius Bar .. as the name implies there are Genius's serving up wisdom (?) and help for ipods, iphones, notebooks, anything to do with MAC i suppose. I personally never feel like a Genius when I walk in or depart but most of the time my needs are met. Just like when I take my car to the mechanic, the problem i am having never replicates itself at the Apple Store. . but generally the staff is nice. The guy today did suggest I purchase a MAC instead of complaining about why my PC didn't often acknowledge my ipod. When i checked out the prices of the MACs and looked at the number of people standing in line with their MAC issues, I decided to decline at that moment. I love my ipod so I am sure I will be back to the Apple retail store and maybe one day, the Genius will rub off on me and I will figure out how to fix my ipod issues read more

Worst customer service ever! I brought my iPhone 6 in for a new battery because the old one would not hold a charge. Dropped it off at 5:30 and they told me 2 hours. Got back at 7:45 and still not ready because they said they cracked my screen when putting in a new battery (guess that claim about the iPhone 6 having bending problems is true). Then they had the nerve to say that they were not charging me for the new screen. I told them that since you broke it, you better not even think about charging me for a new screen. I'm done with Apple. Time for a new Samsung phone. read more

MacBook would not power up all the way. It also hadn't been backed up in a long time. Kurt helped me do all of this and explained everything to me. Everyone in the store was very helpful and knowledgeable, but I do have to put Kurt in a class of his own. He was amazing. All I know is if you're fortunate enough to get Kurt, that you are in good hands! He is patient and beyond knowledgeable and pleasure to work with. Worst apple store I have ever been to. Had to have my phone's screen repaired. Went to the store at 5pm and was told to get back at 8:15. Then at 8:15, we went back to pick up the phone BUT waited for another 30min to finally get the phone. Like seriously?? 4hours just to repair a small damage on the screen? If I can give this place a zero star I would. The Manager at this Apple, Reagan, is very unpleasant and unprofessional. I walking into into the Apple store to ask a simple question and to note the issues with my laptop. I didn't want to check in my laptop or request assistance from the Apple Store because I planned to call Apple Care for further assistance. I just wanted information and the Manager Reagan told me that if I do not want to check in my Mac at the UTC Apple store, "I can hit the road". He said that he was doing me a favor by helping me out and that he has other people to help if I am "going to waste his time". I didn't want his services or his attitude so I requested another manager to assist me. He straight up refused me and said that I am not talking to you. This man threw insults at me in the store and yelled at me in front of everyone. He said I am being condescending when I am simply asking an Apple question. What was the point of having an Apple store that doesn't provide customer service? I received better assistance over the phone than with this Manager Reagan. Seriously! I didn't buy a expensive Apple products just so that I can receive this type of service! To be talked down to and ridiculed in front of a crowd. I am a reasonable person, however the UTC Apple store will no longer receive my services due to this Manager. If you need assistance, avoid UTC Apple and Reagan. Waiting and waiting and waiting: for a store worker, when a phone costs a thousand dollars! Time in the middle of the day to drop off a warranty phone fix is one hour and 15 minutes. There is just no good reason to have terrible waits to buy or service an apple product, not to mention the superior prices they demand. Apple Support is impossible when you need them even with an extended hours agreement. Trying to reach a representative is impossible because when speaking your computer serial number it is not recognized however you say it and how many times you might try. Their idea of support is for you to call back the next day even though you have extended hours agreement. Upon calling them up and looking at their webpage they mislead you saying that they will help you and yet that's not true because if you do not have one of their devices there is no help. You have to have one of their devices for assistance. Their stated and spoken lies are met to frustrate you to the point of buying or other Apple products. That is not support nor consideration of their customers. Their laptops cases are fragile break crack and do not protect are snap tops they are expensive just like their laptops are overly expensive they slip through your fingers hard to grasp desirable to be stolen difficult to find and there's no support when you need them. When they speak of security it feels like a terrorist act against me because it doesn't support my needs. And Macs get viruses and malware just like PC window computers. Perhaps if one of their phone reps did not intentionally antagonize me and shell to do what I clearly asked him to do I wouldn't feel so bad about the company and yet they are known to have good support which I do not find to be true. And went there new machine breaks out of warranty they are worth very very little to anyone. They don't make sturdy MacBooks at all. read more

Bought a pair of apple airpods here today, good customer service even tho the place was packed

I've had good and bad experiences here, but the bad experiences are what stand out to me. I purchased an iMac from here and the screen had a lot of issues but it happened very randomly, so they would keep sending it back to me without doing anything to the computer, claiming that everything was fine. Yes, that's why I lug a huge computer to the mall every weekend -- because there's nothing wrong with it. I took a picture of the screen acting up with my cell phone and they told me they don't accept cell phone photos because they're not "good quality," so I had to take my iMac home again for the millionth time. When I took numerous photos and videos of the issue with my DSLR camera, they finally believed me and repaired the computer. But when they replaced the display, apparently they didn't do it in a dust-free environment. I ended up having what looked like a billion stuck pixels on my screen and when I took it back to the Apple store, they vacuumed it out but there was still a lot of dust. This was dust between the LCD and the glass encasement, so there was no way that I could clean it out on my own at home without doing something to invalidate the warranty (I had AppleCare). When I pointed this out and asked the genius if I'm to live with dozens of what looks like stuck pixels for the rest of my life, he gave me a long, rude, and condescending lecture about how they aren't machines and can't make everything perfect for me. I know that most of the employees there are nice, but after I had issues with my iMac (I got rid of it after that day because I was so sick of taking it to the apple store all the time, since I can't expect those geniuses "to make everything perfect'), that apple store was just not the same anymore. read more

There's a few companies who always, always seem to give great service.. Lets see, Apple, Southwest Airlines, Nordstrom,. The great service is so prevalent that us customers come to expect it (and take it for granted?) I've always gotten amazing service at Apple stores.. every store, every city, every time.. I knew that I would get a kind, smart, compassionate and helpful associate that always quickly would resolve my issue.. I told Reed I just opened my new Iphone 5, plugged it in to my Macbook, and an error message popped up that my operating system was too old to support iphone 5.. When I unplugged it, suddenly my cell service on old iphone 4 had been cancelled, and switched to Sprint, so I'm left cell-less for 20+ hours.. He replied that that's impossible, I would have always received multiple messages I would have to agree to for the switch to happen. I then told him that after my three hour online chat with Apple, they had sent me down to the store to get a Mountain Lion disc for $19.95. Reed replied that they never would have sent me to the store for this, as they haven't had that disc in two years. OK... hmm not a great start.. he couldn't answer any of my other questions as he clearly was raging inside at me, what a horrible energy, shopping is supposed to be pleasant and agreeable. He walked me over to a laptop and set up an online "chat" for me to answer my questions.. So here I am in the Apple Store but they're not helping me, I'm chatting online with someone? Help! I then tried to wave the white flag by saying to Reed: "Please forgive me, I'm somewhat computer illiterate, and most of my issues are probably caused by me.." He then literally curtseyed me and turned up both his hands at me in total agreement. What in the heck is going on here? I told him I'm close to returning my 64 g new gold phone since I'm getting frustrated, he said to please do, bring it back.. He then said he obviously couldn't help me anymore and walked away.. jeez.. well, back to my online chat, right? I'm chatting and look over and Reed is pointing at me while whispering to another employee.. oh boy am I having fun! Mark finally walked over, his badge said Manager, he was very kind, helpful, compassionate, and helpful like so many other Apple employees always have been. However, Mark seemed to just shrug off the bad service I had with Reed, as if that was acceptable in some way.. Still time to return this new phone, my old one is perfect, maybe I should take Reed's advice and do it. read more

Very helpful employees. When I walked in I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. When I mentioned I was there to purchase an iPad, she walked me over to the iPads, and as we were walking she asked a couple of other questions. She introduced me to the sales person, and after my telling her what I wanted, within minutes the iPad was brought from the back. I also picked up a couple of accessories and my purchase from the time I walked in was completed in about 20 minutes. read more

I had a really bad experience in this Apple Store. My screen was not showing any thing, so I come to ask them to change my screen, they said it have a possible to loss all my memories in the phone, cuz I didn't back up so I ask them try other ways first instead set my phone back to original. After this the employee told me to come back in 2 hours to get my phone back. I come back in 2 hours, and no one is coming to help me, so I walk straight to two chatting employees and ask them for help, then one of them checked and tell me to wait for 10-15 minutes. I waited for 20 minutes, and ask them again, then they ask me to wait for another 10-15 minutes. Until I wait an hour. I felt so angry, changing screen is super easy work, I can even change it with in 30 minute, I cannot understand why they take so long. After I get my phone the employee told me my phone had been set to original.... I just felt so angry, and the employees are not respect me, I felt discriminated, that these two employees see me and keep chatting. read more

Well, it will be short and direct : the customer service sucks. I went Saturday in this shop knowing exactly what I wanted : Ipad 32 go WiFi black. I repeated my order twice to make sure they had understood. The young lady I was talking to confirmed loudly my order, and I heard her asking for the device through her talkie-walkies (BTW, I wonder why they don't simply display their Ipad so that the customers can help themselves. Are their devices so precious ? Are they suspicious against their own customers?). When the Ipad came, she didn't check it and, unfortunately, I was too trusty not to do it. I came back at home and was too busy this day to open the box. The day after, on Sunday, when I wanted to discover my new Ipad, I realized it was WHITE ! What the heck ? Those guys have just but one thing to check, the color (the others options can be double checked with the price of the device), and they made a mistake ! What a bunch of idiots ! It appears to me that such a product is sold to easily, so they don't want to care anymore and drag their lazy ass in the shop, barely waiting for the clients. I had to return today, leaving my job a little bit earlier (because Apple stores are closed on Sunday !!!) to get a replacement. Next time, I'm ordering in line. read more

Why why why, I come in early just to check in and I met the most rudest employee from apple ever. He tells me that you are just checking in early to get help sooner and that isn't going to happen. What you need to do is comeback at your scheduled appointment time. I tried to breathe after listening too the apple physic. I asked when did I say any thing you shared and also why can't I just check in now vs coming back and waiting to check in again what if you have a line. I value my time and I want to check in now. He proceeds to start and argument with me. At this point my demeanor changed. I loudly shared with him I done with your rude behavior and get me a manager. You would think an employee would stop but not this guy. He wants to say whatever and turns his back and signal for me too follow. He noticed I was not following and tried to summon me again. I said, maybe my verbal communication wasn't clear enough. I'm done with you and your rude behavior I WANT A MANGER ! Some other guy who doesn't introduce his self says I'm a manger. I say out of frustration GOD DAMN. HE THEN SAYS HE IS GOING TO NOT HELP ME BECAUSE IM CURSING. I asked when is GOD OR DAMN now considered cursing? His silly reply again he says he is the manger " you use them together ". I reviewed him why I was disgruntle and no empathy was shown just more of what ever let me just check u in. They all sell the same things....ipods, iphones, laptops.....yada yada yada....Joe just bought a laptop at this store and the employees were great. I mean Geez....they have one at every corner...You walk in they greet you...You stop to look at the lap tops, there is an employee there, you stop to look at the ipods/iphone there is an employee there....You want to check out, no problem! There are right there...The good thing about the employees there, they do not push you to buy anything. I have owned Apple products for many years and love my Ipad/IPhone. I have also generally been very happy with Apple support when I have called in. Recently both of my chargers for my iPhone and iPad started to fall apart. Basically, the plastic end that plugs into the phone started to peel back from normal usage. This happened first on the phone charger and more recently on the iPad charger as well. I decided to take both products into the Genius Bar for what I thought would be a painless swap. I made an appointment for Saturday at 4:00 and arrived promptly with both cables in plain view of the salesperson who was waiting at the front. I informed him that I have an appointment and he told me that the store was closed for "construction." I asked why I had not been called or notified via e-mail. I was told they are currently in the process of contacting customers to let them know that their appointments were cancelled. Looking inside, I saw an empty store with the exception of about 20 employees standing around doing what looked a lot like nothing. I therefore rescheduled my appointment for 3:20 on Monday. When I arrived, I again had both charger cables in my hand and in plain view of the employee, George Arias, who seated me at the Genius Bar for what I thought would be a fairly short amount of time. After waiting about 10 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. The Mr. Arias told me that there were still 2 others ahead of me. A few minutes later, he came back and asked what he could help me with. I showed him both of the cables that were falling apart and he promptly informed me that they would not replace the cables because of the wear and the fact that the plastic was peeling back! Absolutely ridiculous considering both items were still under warranty and that was specifically the reason I was bringing them in (because the plastic was peeling back from normal use. I assured Mr. Arias that the chargers became this way from normal use and had never been stepped on, kicked, pulled on, bitten, etc...I mean how else is a phone/tablet charger going to be used other than being plugged in? I was summarily dismissed by this employee whose arrogance was astounding. His treatment of me was basically conveying that I did not matter as a customer and that what I was saying was untrue. As I left the store, I was seriously thinking I guess I'll NEVER purchase an Apple product again and this made me somewhat upset as I do love my phone and iPad. I decided to turn around, get this employee's information, and call the Apple support line and I'm so glad I did! Talk about a night and day experience! The employee who helped me on the phone apologized for the treatment I had received from Mr. Arias (who is also a manager by title) and immediately rectified the situation by mailing out 2 new charger cables as both were still under warranty. Based on the numerous 1 star reviews, I believe the management and leadership at this store is lacking. I hope Apple does something to rectify the treatment of its customers and better trains its management and in turn employees particularly at this Apple store. read more

You would think that Apple would know how to handle a crowded store but when I went there, it was a mess. I wanted to purchase an iPhone 7 and apparently there was a line for us to go to and wait. However, there wasn't any sign to tell anyone what the line was for and there were so many customers so confused with what it was for and asking me about it. It was also located next to the exit/entrance so people are basically just blocking the door because they don't know where to go. I don't blame them because it was a really bad system. The staff that was suppose to take care of the line is jumping around here and there (there was another line on the other side for other stuff) and not attending to customers who were first in line - which had me and many other customers in line waiting for so long. It would be so much better if they put up signs for what the lines are for because it was a completely different in-store experience for me compared to in the past. I ended up leaving without a purchase because they didn't have an iPhone 7 in stock so I basically waited in line for nothing... read more

I don't write reviews all the time, but I feel this is what Yelp is all about. What a surprise when I walked in Apple store!! My daughter has a IPAD she got for Christmas. She is 10 and was all most in tears when I couldn't fix it for her. The screen had gone red and green. I tried everything. I reluctantly made a appointment at the "genius bar". I was waiting for them to accuse us of dropping it or selling us hundreds of dollars of solutions. Michael Garcia was our "Specialist" and he could not have been nicer. He looked it over and found "normal wear and tear" and then said that we may have bumped it or dropped it. I was nauseas. Then I asked if he could fix it and I obviously felt I would be responsible for the expense. He brought it in the back and came out with it fixed! He said something was loose inside and you just push down on the screen. I was thankful but confused as to whether it would continue to do this and get worse. When I asked that he looked at me and smiled and said it is just under a year old. He was replacing it with a new one!!!! My daughter was in awe!!! I hugged him..... twice!!! I can easily say.."They exceeded my expectations". That is why I will not buy another brand. Apple, apple, apple! read more

Oh boy, where do I start? So yesterday I slammed my iPhone 4 down and the screen shut off. When I plugged it in to an outlet or my laptop, it would vibrate but that's it. I tried doing a hard reset and nothing. So today I went into Apple and see if they can fix it for me. I got there at 9 am and Hans told me repeatedly that the Apple Store is technically closed for business but is open if you made an appointment. I was trying to ask him when I can see someone and he was incredibly rude and cut me off several times. I was half crying when I went in already. So I left and came back around 9:50 and he told me that I have to make an appointment to see the technician and proceeded to tell me that someone had an appointment before me at 10. I go wait by the workshop table and he keeps telling me that the tech isn't there yet. About 2 minutes later, some dude named Brian comes over and I tell him what happened and he goes in the back to "fix it" then comes right back out no more than 30 seconds later and tells me he can't help me and there is nothing "wrong" with the phone and everything is intact. I tell him I have an upgrade on my account and I would like to get a replacement. He tells me that even with an upgrade, it would cost me roughly $400-550 for a new phone WITH my upgrade. He did not bother to check my account to see that I was eligible. I proceed to walk out and I am clearly upset by this point when Tricia stops me and I told her that apparently I can't upgrade my phone because I slammed it down and it won't turn on anymore. I told her that I don't and won't walk out without a phone. She calls over Erick to help me and I am hysterically crying. I tell him I have an upgrade and I just want a new phone and to transfer everything if its possible. He tells me my options and the differences in prices and features. I decide on the 4S and only had to pay $36 up front. He walks me through getting me set up with the same number and waits with me for all my apps and photos to be downloaded again. He offered to get me some water, I was still slightly a hot mess because Brian and Hans pushed me out of the store and didn't want to even try to do their jobs. He answered all of my questions, even the ones I thought were really dumb, was really funny and really helpful. After about half hour my new phone had downloaded my latest backup, got everything back, made a new friend and told them what douchy coworkers they had, and walked out with a HUGE smile on my face. Next time I need something, I will go back to Erick and Tricia. read more

Fixed my computer but put in a corrupted disk creating a much bigger problem than what I had before....spent an hour on the phone with tech support and they didn't know how to help me so I went back to the store to see if I could leave it over night but they said they were too backed up and wouldn't even let me wait. I brought an older mac server (two hard drive bays) into this store for one of the hard drives to be replaced with a warranty repair. They removed the WRONG hard drive, the one that had all my data on it. Obviously they did not even bother to test to unit after the hardware change which is mind blowing in itself. I called them, they said "no problem, we still have the hard drive here". Great, I went there the next day to drop the unit off again so they could put the old hard drive back in and finally replace the bad drive. I go to pick it up and find out that they have since lost my original hard drive with all of my data, pictures and more. They offer me nothing and just say basically too bad, that's tough. Terrible service. First off the employee I was being helped by was very rude. I have an iPhone 4. When I went into UTC it'd be the third time this product has crashed or died on me. The guy took two seconds to look at my phone, didn't even take it to the back to get inspected. He told me water damage and I'd have to wait an hour and a half for a new one for 140 some dollars. I told him there is no way, that phone has never seen water, dirt, or anything harmful. I declined the offer took it from him and said I'm going to a different store, he told me good luck with that. I went to the one in Escondido next morning. Told them what was wrong and that the other guy at UTC told me it was water damage but its never seen water. They took it and did an hour inspection. Sure enough they came out told me no it was not water damage but the phone itself. Got issued a brand new one free of charge and was on my way. I will never go back to the apple store in UTC. Terrible service and made me feel as if my issues were not important compared to the people next to me actually buying products. From now on I will stick to Escondido mall apple store. That's if I buy an apple product again... read more

I came inside the store with no appointment made to talk about a concern I had about my iPhone 4S and ios7 regarding text messages. the man greeting people as they came inside, la broi?, was very nice and directed me to the apple "geniuses" in the back since he had not known what was wrong with my phone. I walked up to a woman with red hair and she asked me what I needed help with. and I told her. but she outright told me that what I had been previously experiencing with my iphone was impossible to happen, she would not let me try to explain or hear me out. she just kept telling me that it's impossible when I know for a fact my phone was fine before the upgrade. I came here because I expected someone to listen to my problem and be able to help me, and instead, I get this girl who is rude to me and treated me as if I didn't have a clue what I was talking about. a man came by and at first he didn't understand my problem but then he understood a bit and was a bit more helpful than the girl but in the end, I still am not entirely sure if the problem lies with my phone or the update. needless to say, not the best apple store experience that I have had. read more

I schedule an appointment for 12:30 over the phone with Apple..the customer service was nice on the phone... but it was so hard to find parking that I was late... plus I dont really go to the Apple Store, I am not fan of it. Anyways, my Nano not turning on... no one helped me or greeted me... and yes it was crowded... but then I was like ok... where do I go?? then this Lady came up to me and asked me if I was needing help so I told her my appointment is at 12:30pm and I know I am late... and she said they couldnt service me because I was late, iIneeded another appointment so she schedule me at 1:40 and then she said well maybe i can get you earlier just stay in the store... I was pretty much not happy because i offered to leave my nano for them to fix it as I wanted to get back to work and she said she couldnt do it... Well ok I didnt know when they were going to see me... and before you know it I took off and told myself ok I will come back at 1:40pm... I get there on time and then I talk to same lady and she blames me because I left the store she had to push me back at 1:50??? lol She said oh we had called you earlier and you werent hear and when you talked to me someone scheduled at 1:40 before you... I am like what?? you confirmed 1:40 now its 1:50?? then she goes dont leave the store then... Fine:1:50 rolls on by and I dont get seen until 2:00pm... the tech comes in and goes to the back and then comes back and says well its not turning on because there is liquid damage in the nano?? Like what?? uhm, I never spilled anything on it all I do is take it to the gym to work out with it... It ran out of battery and all it did was not turn on... he says its the little red dot right there?? and i am like my earphones are always plugged in... and get this the warantty doesnt cover it, so $65 for a new one... this is the second Ipod i have owned and has just shut off without any reason. I never spilled anything on both andi dont use it unless I am working out...sadly I had to pay $65 for it... but really?? What is the use of warranty when it doesnt cover the Ipod for everything... what crap and this ipod nano was given to me for Christmas too last year so I still had a warranty... That being said, i am rethinking forget Iphone because two Ipods crap out and then the warranty is limited what is the iphone like?? I cant imagine getting one now... I am so rethinking of Apple products these days because customer service at the store sucks period. Absolutely appalling service. Went in and made an appointment to have my iphone 5 looked at. Told to come back when I was given a text. Came back after getting the text and then spent an hour and a half waiting to be seen while people that had come in after me were dealt with. Even after querying this I still waited 30 mins to finally get some service. They took my phone through the back but in a matter or seconds came back with it to say there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty by 1 week. If this is what Apple class as good customer service all I can say is it will definitely be the last time i purchase any apple product. The amount of staff standing around chatting amongst themselves was ridiculous, I understand they won't all be trained in everything but come on apple get it together and if you know full well you aren't going to be able to do anything due to your tight fisted warranty policies at least inform people before they spend 2 hours at your store. I brought in my mid-2010 MacBook Pro right before closing on Friday. The staff was really nice and walked me straight to the Genius Bar. The guy who helped me, Dave, was awesome! He explained everything that they'd need to do to fix it. He also found some ways to help me out financially. Got a call Sunday morning that it was ready for pickup and it's all good now.
