They took the time to explain all of our options for adding more phones to our family plan and helped us take advantage of our Verizon loyalty rewards. I didn't have a good experience with the kid with the perm. Very smug and unhelpful. Verizon is the absolute worst carrier out of the main three right now. Do not give your money to them and port out. This is a cell phone store posing as Verizon. The delineation between a Corporate store and retail non Corporate store is very misleading and deceptive. Either way the lack of cohesion with customer care will be the same either way. Verizon cosplays as they're the best carrier. This may have been true at one time. Now in 2025 they're like the new Sprint!! DO NOT ENTER A CONTRACT WITH VERIZON. All your calls will be transferred to a company down in the Philippines called iQor, Teleperformance, Concentrix, etc. and they lie through their teeth about everything. They will screw you on deals. It's straight up actual fraud. It's kid run customer service call centers. You then escalate to Verizon's "Executive Team" and they'll take ZERO corporate responsibility and they'll just fart in your face!! You're cooked, game over, the end. You'll have to resort complaining to the FTC, FCC, BBB, and AG Robert Bonta's, and AG Letitia James office in NY. For real! If you're insistent on screwing yourself over and do not like yourself... Worst cellphone upgrade experience ever! I went there to upgrade my phone but a lady worker tried to add other options and change my current data plan to more expensive plan. I refused all of them, then she said that she would not upgrade my phone without any option or plan upgrade and told me to go to other Verizon store. A store manager came out and told me that he could do an upgrade with 1TB memory phone, or get my wanted model later by order because their stock is low. When I asked him how long it takes for me to get a new phone if order, he said a new phone will be delivered in 2-3 weeks. I went to a Verizon Corporate store and they did not force me to buy unnecessary options nor plan upgrade. I had to order my wanted phone there too but my phone came in 2 days. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION They are not corporate owned, "an authorized dealer/franchise" they mislead customers and add all sorts of junk fees they don't disclose. Very unethical and tell you things that are false and don't care. Just read all the other 1 star reviews. Even the corporate stores are aware of their shady practices. I moved over from ATT and transferred my family plan ( 4 lines ), 2 routers for wireless internet and then they threw I a "free iPad". They said phones under $1000 were free and we only had to pay for the tax's in the phones and iPad. After several hours I gave them my credit card -they took it in the back room and came back out (no receipt) and said thanks. I couldn't imagine how tax would amount to $663. I asked why it was so high and they said tax is expensive in California. Later I was emailed the 6 pages of receipt only to find $300 of junk fees they added in addition to the $360 of tax. They charged set up fees for all the equipment, additional $10 for each item because there were price increases. It was such a joke, unethical and criminal. I went back to the store, they don't care that I red handedly caught them ripping me off, gave some partial credit back like they were doing me a favor. now I'm dealing with corporate. They are trying but it's a fiasco and very time consuming. Bottom line DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE or any non corporate location. read more

I went in to pickup an iPad I ordered and Eli and Kaylen were rude on the phone and in person. They told me my iPad was ready and to come down to the store then when I got there they told me to come back the next morning. As I was walking out they had me come back in and gave me my iPad. They weren't friendly and seemed like they did not want to be there. They didn't help me set up my iPad so I ended up coming back in the morning anyways. I told them they were rude to me and one laughed and the other said they weren't rude. I told him I was going to a different location to get help and he laughed as I walked out the door. The other location I went to in clairemont solved my problem in less than 5mins and were very nice. I will never use this location for anything again. read more

The person who helped me this time was snippy, short, and rude. Any question I asked her was apparently a burden to her based on her response. I was served by Sandy on 9/27/24. Admittedly it was around 30 mins to closing time but she was incredibly sassy and was generally unpleasant for no reason aside from maybe being near the end of her shift. I tried to be patient and I don't think I did anything wrong but I left the store thinking that was really shitty to be treated like that. Honestly I have never had a good experience in this store, but I felt compelled to write a review this time around. Actually I'm going to change my review for this location from a 2 star to a 1 star because I'm remembering that this store does not get full access to Verizon servers which can severely limit the amount of service they can provide. I once went in to get a new phone after mine was stolen and the store rep I worked with at the time insisted that I had to buy a new phone despite me paying for insurance. I trusted them and ended up buying a new phone that I unfortunately couldn't return; I found out that I was actually supposed to get some kind of reduced price options which ended up costing me ~$300. Overall not the ideal Verizon store just go to the La Jolla pearl location for better service and hospitality. read more

On Victra's corporate website they claim, "We don't just consider you a customer - we strive to treat you as our "guest" when you join us in any of our nearly 1,700 convenient locations." Unfortunately, this could not have been any further from the truth based on my experience with the Victra staff working at the 8795 Villa La Jolla Drive location in San Diego, California. On November 16, 2024, I went to the store to explore my options for upgrading my iPhone 13 to an iPhone 16 Pro. I had acquired the iPhone 13 less than two years ago from the same location when it was an actual Verizon store and not a Verizon Authorized Retailer. I interacted with Eli, a Sales Representative and Kaylen, an Assistant Manager. Their actions, as well as the inaction of the Store Manager (Rob), clearly demonstrated a complete lack of basic customer service skills...certainly not representative of how I would treat a "guest". There was a lack transparency, a series of omissions, relaying of inaccurate and incomplete information, lack of responsiveness, and actual fraud. It is no surprise that 50% of the reviews on Yelp about this store are negative with one-star ratings. Also, if you check the Better Business Bureau's website, Victra has a customer review rating of 1.02 out of 5 stars. I believe that track record clearly speaks for itself. Sadly, it seems customer's or should I say "guest's" with similar complaints spanning a considerable length of time are falling on the deaf ears of upper management as the negative reviews keep coming with no apparent action being taken. I would strongly encourage existing and potential Verizon customers to avoid this store at all costs and deal directly with Verizon staff at one of their company-managed stores. Furthermore, based on the egregious behavior of the Victra staff and as a matter of principle, I will be reaching out to Victra's Corporate Customer Service Team in Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as members of the Victra's C-suite to include Jon Betts, Vice President Workforce Management, Scott Tollett, President & Chief Operating Officer, and Richard Balot, Founder & CEO to share my experience. This is not a corporate Verizon store so they can't help you with your phone if you are a Verizon employee, government worker or military. I called ahead to see if they could help me and they said I could so I was very surprised when I was in the store and they said that what I was asking for was not possible. I wish they had told me that ahead of time so I didn't waste my time making an appointment there and going to this "Verizon store". Bought a cell phone at what appeared to be a Verizon store at La Jolla, CA. We needed to buy a replacement cell phone so we visited the Verizon store I've been using for 5 years. We selected the replacement cell phone but the Sales person (R.P.) insisted payment for the new cell phone be paid over time. I said "no, we don't want to pay for interest fees ". We used my credit card to pay in full for the new $800 ($864 + CA tax) cell phone. We handed our credit card to Sales person who "swipped" my credit card to pay in full but he said the receipt would be emailed to me. Interesting. I have not seen an email from Verizon. Today I received my credit card statement that included a charge for $119.74 from Verizon Victra. ??? Separately, I received my monthly Verizon service statement/bill. This month's statement includes a new charge ... (wait for it !) $44.90/month to be paid over 36 months .. a whopping $1.616.40. which is $752 ( NOT including the $119.74) MORE than the $864. I visited the store on 9/18/24, at around 9:20am. There was a line of people when I arrived because employee Eli was apparently late. When he finally arrived, he immediately told the waiting customers to "leave and come back in twenty minutes cuz I gotta run inventory." A number of us came back in twenty minutes. After a long wait, he finally invited me to come to his workstation. I then asked two things of him: (1) Move a SIM card from an old phone to a new one. (2) Upgrade my data plan on the new phone. He complained the entire time about how such things should be done on the Verizon app, clearly not grasping the obvious: The Verizon app can't be installed on a flip phone. He grudgingly moved the SIM from the old to new phone after taking at least ten minutes longer than necessary, and almost breaking the old flip phone in the process. Furthermore, the new phone didn't receive a signal, which caused me to think the SIM wasn't mounted properly. As for the second request of changing data plans, his response was something along the lines of, "people don't axe for dat much cuz we gotta charge you sixty dollars for dat!" Another lie. At that point I just walked out with two non-functional phones. I immediately drove to the Verizon store located at: 7035 Clairemont Mesa Blvd Suite 401, San Diego, CA 92111 The service there was excellent. The female rep immediately brought the new phone online and upgraded my plan. No charge, and it was done in five minutes tops. Management: You seriously need to get employee Eli as far away from customers as possible! His poor attitude and work ethic, not to mention his outright lies regarding pricing, were also directed at other customers in the store, not just me. People noticed. I was helped by a guy named Cris who seemed a bit sleazy at first and promised me a better deal on my account by adding extra phone lines and when I got my bill I had all these extra and hidden fees. He tried to upsell me on all these extra things I didn't need when I only wanted to upgrade my phone, get an Apple watch and add one new line. This location is a private biz and they will tell you your bills is less even you add a line and go with them and they will say this free and that free come with a phone and a month later when you get the bills it will be double and stuffs they said is free it is not there is a line you pay extra every month from $10-$13. Which they never tell you that and iPad and watch is not free. They would scram saying this and that free to have you add a line so this is how they make money from Verizon as they are not Verizon employees but a private biz. Changing my review from positive to negative. I tried avoiding this but I'm beyond frustrated. I purchased the iPhone X then went in a purchased the Apple Watch. What sold me on getting the iPhone that day was because the sales guys stated $80 with phone and accessories. I asked $80 total he said yes. Of course I took the deal and I said was mislead that my $96 trade in would go towards those accessories and taxes and etc. I was also informed the bill would be a certain price fee following month but it was much higher than mentioned. Plus they gave me the Hum Device for discounts and said they would cover the charge of the Hum device along with 20% off as a wash so no monthly charge for the Hum. When I talked to customer representative at Verizon call center they said no device credit for the Hum was added plus there is no such thing as a 20% off for the Hum. So I basically go screwed. No one wants to honor what I was informed even though it was misinformation. I wouldn't mind paying it if my mom and I weren't mislead and I'm tired of being mislead with Verizon making errors. To those reading this review ask yourself this... If you went to make a purchase on let's say a car, and you were informed you would get a certain amount for your trade in and along with discounts and your bill would be a set price then you are hit with a higher bill along with misinformation regarding your promised discounts. How would you feel? Falsely advertising and screwing someone over isn't nice at all Verizon. My review was positive buts its really negative now. Now also ask yourself this... Is this a place you would want to do business with? My mom has been with Verizon since I was in elementary and I'm now 26. She's been loyal and times she wanted to change because she was mislead constantly I convinced her other wise. Now I'm going to work on finding us a better carrier in the next few weeks because saying sorry you were misinformed doesn't help me nor does it help my mother. Taking advantage of me is one thing who cares but taking advantage of my mom is another. It's her account and as the main account holder she deserves much better than this mess. I came in with my Mom because she wanted a new Iphone, and during the transaction, Lance, mentioned that if I traded in my S8 that I could trade it in for $560 toward a Samsung S21, so it would be 10 bucks a month extra. I took this deal and was happy, until I saw my bill. He added the protection plan, which I told him I didn't want and my bill was 50 bucks extra. When I called Verizon, they told me it was because I needed to have an unlimited plan to get the deal, which Lance never told me. Finally, Lance told me that I could pay my phone off once the $560 comes in as a lump sum, but the Verizon customer service told me that it doesn't work that way and that it is a monthly discount instead. I knew the process would be a bit long, but Eliot was patient, kept a great attitude and demonstrated genuine are. I was in the area of La Jolla when my phone stopped properly functioning, felt like it kept freezing didn't know if it was some kind of network issue. I Googled Verizon retailers near me and this store popped up. I stopped by and the associate that assisted me was so kind and so knowledgeable. Right away he was trouble shooting with my phone and seemed familiar with my model of phone. The service was free and I was in and out in no time. I'm always grateful when I receive great customer service because it's not always guaranteed. I recommend going to Joey, if you're ever in the same situation or area. At the end and after over 5 hours of time wasted and several visits to store I got my money back NOT from them I had to talk to an actual VERZION manager on the phone (which was still saying never got the phone back from VICTRA). Hire an experienced senior manager for God sake and get your sh.. together. Needed new phones for my daughters (both trading) up in January this year. Adjusted my plan, got the phones and was told that it would take two billing cycles to see the credit for one phone, and the half credit for the other. I've dealth with Verizon enough to know that you have to follow-up on EVERYTHING!! So, two cycles later I call the store as my credit is not showing on my bill. Of course, paperwork was not filled out and sent in (on their end) so I have to wait for another billing cycle to see my credit. Make sure you are clear about what you purchase, print out your recipt, mark follow-ups on your calendar, and call to follow up, and then call again to follow up, and again until you see that you get what you were promised..... I love verizon service (I've had it since 1996), but kinda like purchasing a car - be prepared, be careful, and don't trust you sales person. read more

I stopped by with a screen that wouldn't work. 2 employees in store but fortunately 1 of 2 customers had finished and I was immediately assisted by Lucy. Fixed it immediately. Didn't try to upsell. Excellent customer service! Much better atmosphere than typical Verizon outlet, with long waits and seemingly apathetic. Thank you Lucy! When it comes time for our 6 phones to be upgraded.
