I am in the United States Navy and they put a top bar on my mouth before I left for Boot camp in 2007 so I wouldn't loose my retainer. Well about 4 years ago my top bar broke and I had it fixed and with a new permanent retainer the female of the two orthodontist's (I believe dr. Paxton) did not charge me much I think it was less than 200.00 also including the clear retainer. Well I was home 4 years later visiting for bloomsday and schedule an appointment because my top bar broke again, I was quoted 160.00 on the phone, well by the time I was done they took the cement off my bottom bar, did my top bar then gave me a retainer. I was about to leave and one of the ladies that works there said "oh that's going to be 375" and the male orthodontist said you shouldn't have been quoted over the phone, we will fix that internally. well I obviously couldn't not pay it. But when you're quoted 160 and it comes out to 375 that's a pretty big difference. If something happens again I will not come back, which is sad after literally 15+ years. There's plenty of orthodontist where I live (San Diego) that I'll get it taken care of.

Despite the fact that they had to reschedule my appointment time at least once due to my retainers not being delivered. I did not receive consistent reminder notifications for my appointments which would have helped a lot. Additionally the care was subpar. I needed more appointments than originally planned because at least three times the staff could not attach the bracket for rubber bands to my teeth properly. They fell off the same day I got home. Then I had to deal with the scheduling nightmare all over again. All of this and my teeth are only mostly fixed but I honestly can't deal with trying to schedule more appointments here. I don't recommend anyone waste their money here. Find an office that has better hours and more providers.
