We stopped for lunch yesterday here on our way home from vacation and had the best service from Jessica Hensley ( I hope I spelled that right). She was so kind and attentive. That goes a long way these days. We ate at a lot of nice restaurants on our vacation and didn't have near the service that Jessica gave us. She checked on us and made sure our drinks were full. This place is awesome. I had to go back to Anderson to attend my fathers funeral. At the end of my stay I wanted to enjoy a steak dinner with my family. There were about 15 of us and the staff were very attentive to get us seated and taken care of. The waitress got our orders taken care of perfectly and we had an absolutely fantastic evening. It took us a while to make up our minds. The margarita special tonight for 299 was perfect. My husband enjoyed his beer! Then we went to a full rack of ribs! That and two salads were perfect for our evening. In fact we took home 3/4 of a rack of ribs because we both enjoyed our salads so much and we know that those ribs will be even better reheated! They were all off the bone perfect. I only have one negative comment about this restaurant. I do not understand why they can't seem to turn on the hot water in the restrooms. With a name like Montana Mike's the dining area has a very rugged theme going on. They even have animal trophies hanging from the walls. Food Drink - The menu indicated a rotating IPA. I do not even remember what the choice was but I ended up with the Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest which my waiter felt that fell into this category, which it does not. It is a classic German style beer called Märzen. Appetizer - They did provide the table with free rolls, which I did not partake in. Dinner - I went with a NY Strip, which I ordered medium as the last steak I ordered medium rare was closer to rare. If I knew they would land the perfect temp of the steak I would have gone with medium rare. I enjoyed my steak after cutting a long strip of fat off the one side. The meal came with two sides, I love having baked potatoes and my other side was the salad which I ordered with vinaigrette but received ranch. They brought the dressing in little cups which were within the salad. Enough dressing had spilt from the cups I did not need any more dressing. I am very light on the use of dressing on my salad. Service - I waiter was great and friendly. Future - Due to the location we will probably visit again as it is walking distance from the hotel. read more

The place was crowded but they allowed me to sit at the bar. I didn't order any beer as I don't drink alcohol. The server was very friendly. I didn't get his name but he was attentive and very flexible with his colleagues. He even offered to fill up my water bottle. The steak was very tender and the sweet potato was very tasty. The salad was fresh and delicious. The bread rolls there are some of the best I've ever tasted. The staff were working very hard that night and maintained a friendly atmosphere. When I tell you the food here is good, it is really to die for. Came up to Anderson for a some and stopped here for some food. It was better than expected. Everything came out hot and so fresh. I have to drive 45 minutes to get here but it is worth it in my eyes. I got so stuffed from wanting to eat everything. It was that good. Food was 5 stars, server was 3. Skills had the Salmon, Mac n Cheese, and Sweet potato casserole. Everything was fire!! I don't usually like Mac and cheese unless it's baked by myself or my grandma using her recipe. But this basic Mac and cheese was very flavorful and cheesy! It was good. Loved the Salmon! Perfectly cooked the way I like it! A little crisp but still Juicy! The sweet potatoes were good as well. A little too sweet for me, but it was okay. CC had the Pork Chops, rice pilaf, and Green beans. The Pork chops were great, they give you 2 big juicy chops. Tender and juicy! The rice was good and the green beans were good. Gave the server 3 stars because he didn't say a word to us. We only saw him one time and he never came back to check on us. He also gave us a very small container to put our leftovers in, when we asked for a bigger platter to go, he came back with another smaller container. I am very happy that Montana Mike's has reopened. It is one of 4 restaurants in the Anderson area. The Edge good food but prices are higher. Bird's Smokehouse BBQ, but only if you want BBQ. Texas Roadhouse good food but when will they learn to turn down the music. Montana Mike's every meal I have eaten there has been very good. Service good and meals are fairly priced. Wood like to be able to order the lunch specials in the evening due wanting the smaller portions. read more

We were just here 9/6/2014....29 People in our Group.... Yeah, most places choke on a group like this. I called them weeks in advance and setup group dinner for 25 at 5pm. When I neglected to show, they called me... I thought it was 7pm. They politely made change and then accommodated our growing group as the nite progressed. Drinks were timely and fast, everyone's orders were cooked correct, not a single plate returned. Appetizers were timely and early with drinks and everyone had a seat. I was so pleased with the service, food and execution we expect to return next year. I think this is one of the best managed restaurants I've eaten at. It's a food restaurant to visit, filled with a western theme and friendly staff. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome as we entered through the front doors. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Our drink refills never went empty and she supplied us over and over again with complimentary rolls and cinnamon butter for our 4 roll-loving kiddos. We didn't wait too long for food even though the place was packed and there were several larger parties by us. The burgers, wings, kid's meals, and sirloin we had were all great and generously portioned. We had enough to take home leftovers! The prices were fair and decent.
