Very disappointed poor service due to poor management. When seated the drink order was not taken and once it was taken it took 15 minutes to get a beer. Ordered food received our appetizers in good time but our meals took another 20 minutes with one order never delivered so I cancelled it. The waitress discounted the meal and a small percentage and promised the manager would speak with me I waited another 10 minutes after paying my bill and the manager never came to speak with me very disappointed with the management at this location. read more

Well what can I say, I arrive in the middle of nowhere land literally lost but my lovely chauffeur/date knew where she was going, we almost ran over an entire family standing in an empty parking stall feeling a bit privileged. Well that was awkward, okay so now inside, it seemed busy but shockingly we were sat in a booth immediately, quite pleasant. Our waitress was Nice, happy hour got me a blue moon for $2, so far so good, good start. Now we get carried away and start conversating by this time we order our food. The food arrived promptly, quicker than expected. Then things got weird, Not sure if short staffed but our waitress never refilled our cups. The boneless chicken wings, super duper salty, I rather of had chicken mcnuggets instead lol, my personal meal was ok not too impressed with the taste and the chicken was a bit hard. So we wait and wait and wait, finally we wave down our waitress and tell her we are ready to pay, she takes our payment and said I'll be right back. We wait another 15-20 minutes by this time I'm getting anxiety, no refills and loud noise all around, suddenly the manager showed up, " I'm soo sorry I'm soo sorry we had trouble processing your payment I had to enter it manually " Long story short, before paying give it to them as soon as you get your order or you'll be waiting an extra 45 minutes. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever had !They didn't take are order until 30 minutes later. They didn't bring my mother's plate until we asked for it at the end of our meal, by the time it got out the food was SUPER cold. They didn't bring us silver Ware or straws for are drinks and charged me $6.53 for one soda and not once did they offer to give me a refill. I can tell the people that work there don't enjoy there jobs. Who ever is in charge of being a hiring manager should be fired. Not the best Applebee's to go to. Takes forever to get your food, and it's usually not very good. I have had to send back food many times. I've dealt with food poisoning several times as well. Very happy to finally have an Applebee's in Atwater! The only issue we had was one food item was slightly cold but quickly corrected by our waitress. Service by the waitress was awesome! Went there on Valentines Day with my wife and kids. Decided to cheat on diet and have the Mushroom Swiss Burger. The menu says that it has Portabella Mushrooms, but not on mine. I think I counted about five tiny mushrooms and that was it. The burger was terrible. My son got a burger with pulled brisket on top, or at least the menu said that it was to have that on it. Certainly did not match what the menu stated. This burger was also terrible. Carl's Jr. Six Dollar burgers are far superior to what we got. If you want a burger do not go here. I am sure that there are better options even in Atwater! I will say the service was fine. The waitress was very attentive. I just paid way too much for a cheapened down burger! we were sat down, waiter instantly apologized for the wait. took our drink and appetizer order....................... appetizer arrived by another waiter, I saw our drinks setting at the bar people walking past and not picking them up. we finished our appetizer before the drinks arrived, which were delivered by yet another server. when the waiter came to take our order, his again apologized, explaining he has to cover this huge area..........not my problem. when the food arrived he again apologized for the wait.......... its obvious this is his standard line to every customer, as were hearing him say the same thing to everyone. we finished lunch waited 20 mins for the check, nothing, I had to ask the hoists for my check Guess what happened next..............The waiter came apologizing for the wait, I informed him service was very poor, the Texas Firey Brisket burger had 3 slices of peppers, and a very small portion dried out brisket on top of a even drier hamburger a couple behind us sent the food back, waited a while............then walked out. To be fair, twice before we have eaten .at the Atwater applebee's. sitting at the bar seams to be my preferred preference, service was great and food was as to be expected. read more

After reading some feedback and hearing bad things from this new Applebee's I was hesitant in going but I figured it couldn't hurt. I went at a time that was very busy but I did get seated 5 minutes from getting there. As soon as we sat down our server got our drink orders. Overall the wait time was a little longer than desired but it did not ruin my dinner. Drinks took 10 minutes, appetizers took 20 and the three cheese pasta I ordered and the steak my fiancé ordered came 25 minutes after the appetizers. I assume that when it's less busy it would have been faster but since my server was attentive and the food was good I did not have a bad experience. I will be returning!! read more

We came in around 830pm and the hostess greeted us and showed us to our table. We waited a good 20 mins at the table and nobody came by. The manager past us a couple times and could clearly see we were waiting to be helped. My husband finally got up and asked the manager if we could at least get some water and helped. The manager got waters for us and handed it to my husband. He didn't even come to our table. The server was really busy and apologized for the wait. It took awhile for her to come around. I used to be a server and I felt bad because this poor girl needed help with her tables and the manager did nothing. Our order was finally taken and the food didn't take long. Horrible food. I ordered a new dish, a HC pepcrst steak dish. Steak was not too bad, but it came in a puddle of grease and everything else was soggy on the dish. For 14.95, i had 3 bites of meat. We live in town and I Just have to say that we love our neighborhood Applebee's. We have been with them through their growing pains because we are local and we frankly don't have a lot of options! Their first year was pretty spotty and service, food delivery, food temp, and overall quality was lackluster, however I would say that the past 6-8 months have been an amazing improvement. they seem to have worked out their kinks. Their staff is more reliable and more consistent (they recognize us now which could be a good or bad sign lol). This is not a typical Applebee's because it is just not as busy as typical franchises, but I believe it will get there. I actually prefer it to be not as busy because I Hate to wait for a table but I understand that they have financial goals they need to meet. I hope they are able to continue to improve on their customer service, beer fetching, and food because they have truly turned a corner since they first opened! read more

We have been here quite a few times and the service has been bad each time. The last visit was this past Sunday November 10,19, there were 4 of us my 2 kids, my husband and me. We walked in and the guy at the podium didn't even greet us just said "for 4?" And took us to the table. He didn't even have a smile, pretty much looked as if he didn't want to work to be honest. Then the waitress came by got out drinks and orders. The kids meals came out first, then about 3 minutes later our appetizers came out then about 35-40 minutes later mine and my husbands meals came out, only because I asked a manager walking by how much longer. Our waitress never came by to tell us the status of our meals. By the time we got our food, my kids were done with theirs. Really. Not sure if it's the staff, management I don't know but the service just sucks here. No matter when you go. We have been here since they first opened and the service has not changed. read more

The service is horrible this was our second time and it got no better. The first time we went my mashed potatoes were ice cold it was like they put my chicken on top of ice cream. The second time we went it took 40 min to get 3 appetizers. Then when we asked for the Mgr he gave us some lame excuse about the help desk calling at that time and the kitchen wasn't getting any tix. I explained what the hell does that have to do with the waitress making sure we had our food she should have checked up on us and he said well we've only been open for 15 days and we still have some issues. I then told him I opened up 2 restaurants as I'm a cook and we've never had issues like this. He then said he'd take care of the bill I said ok thanks. We get the bill and he takes $5 off WTF!!! It wasn't even 20% he then said he tried to fix our problem then my girl told him no he needed to do better and that he was the Mgr he needed to figure out what to do. Well after all that we got $9 off our bill which was still a slap in the face. He then asked since I was a cook did I want a job I mean wow can u believe that lol. I had only been to the Applebee's in turlock on one other occasion, so I thought that I and my friends would go try this one out since its new. Boy was that a mistake. On Mondays, they have $7 burgers so they were quite busy. It was nice because we didn't wait long to be seated and the waitress was quick to get our order and drinks. She was nice and took our order for food. We ordered an appetizer, 3 burgers and an oriental salad. I want to say it took a solid 1/2 hour to get our appetizer and probably another 20 minutes after that to get our food. We were not starving so it was ok. During the meal, I looked around and watched then hustle and bustle of the restaurant. The manager was constantly running around and talking to people so I started to pay close attention to him. At a table, he was talking to some agitated people. They left a little later and did not look happy. After almost an hour, we finally got our food. At first it was fine because we thought it was so busy and we were expecting a good meal since it took so long. My friend got a mushroom and Swiss burger. It was burnt and they put 1 mushroom on it! 1!!! She ate a little less than 1/2 because it was not good at all. We had to laugh out loud when we saw it. My oriental salad was all those little chip string things, red onion, and carrots. I think we counted about 6 pieces of lettuce (they were small) and one was brown so I couldn't eat it. The dressing was good, but it was not a salad. The jalapeño burger that my other friend got was also burnt with 4 little jalapeños. He ate about half. And was done. The fries were really good and the mozzarella sticks were good. So just the side stuff, not any parts of the actual meal. The waitresses were nice, but the food and wait time were so disappointing that I wouldn't go again. As we were leaving, I saw and heard that the manager was comping a large chunk of someone else's meal and giving them something else. Just giving two stars for the nice waitresses. read more

First waitress left without saying a word. Didn't take our order for 45 minutes. People in our party had to leave without food. Slow service. Orders forgotten. Tasteless food. NOT RECOMMENDED. The only thing good about the restaurant was the food and the drinks. It took our waitress 30 minutes just to bring us our drinks. Also, nothing is more irritating than sitting next to a cashier arguing with another employee because "she knows her table has been sitting there too long." I strongly believe that these employees need to be taught responsibility, respect, organization, and costumer service after hours so that none of the costumers have to deal with it. read more

Very disappointing. I know they are new, but does that mean we ahold pay nearly 100.00 and bad was awful. They mixed our order up, food was cold, AND we sent a steak back twice ordered rare and served medium. When we asked for randy the asst manager he wanted to argue about what a rare steak is and make excuses. He comped only 1 meal. My shrimp was hard as a rock.
