(review based on 3.5 stars) Came here last night to grab a bite to eat for dinner with my husband. We were immediately acknowledged when we came in and were seated at a booth (nice to be asked if we wanted to sit at a table or booth). This place was not busy or crowded so I am not exactly sure why my husband and I ended up waiting 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. Anyways, Applebee's currently has this new "Take Two" seasonal menu where you can pick any 2 items (only can pick out of 4 items though) for $11.99 per person. My husband and I both decided to do that. My husband's 2 item meal came out before mine. Then a minute later, a 2 item meal came to our table but it wasn't the 2 choices I ordered. Our server, Eddie, apologized and said he put in the order wrong and so he had to reorder my item. I waited another 10 or 13 minutes. Then my 2 item meal came. But after that arrived, another minute later, another 2 item meal (the same 2 items I picked) came to our table... so there seemed to have been a few hiccups with the ordering. But anyways, this is what we had: Blacken Sirloin with the Lemon Shrimp Fettuccine- My husband though the sirloin was good and liked the potatoes that came with this item. But did not like the ragu sauce and thought it did not taste well together with the potatoes and sirloin. He liked the lemon shrimp fettuccine but thought it was too oily and salty. This dish also came with a small garlic bread piece and he thought that tasted okay. Seasonal Berry & Spinach Salad with the Garlic Rosemary Chicken Pasta- I requested for my salad dressing to be on the side, which I am glad I did because I didn't think the vinaigrette dressing was very flavorful. It was too light to really taste any flavor to be honest. Anyways, I liked the strawberry slices and blueberries in the salad, but just wished there would a be a little more. The chicken pasta was a little disappointing to me. I liked how my husband's fettuccine was made with whatever ingredients they added to it, but I did think his fettuccine was a bit on the oily and salty side. The chicken pasta had nice bits of asparagus pieces, which was nice and I like the pieces of grilled chicken. But this pasta was also a bit too oily and salty for me. I liked the little garlic bread that came with my dish. Overall, thought our meals were okay. My husband thought the portions were a bit on the small side, but I thought they were just right for one person. Remember, it takes about 30 minutes for your mind to register that you are full, so eat s-l-o-w-l-y.... In a word, I thought our dinning experience was just average (thus 3 stars) at best. The service left much to be desired and the food was not spectacular but it wasn't bad either. By the way, this place is located in the same plaza as Fresh & Easy, CVS, 99 Cent Store & Ross. There is plenty of parking, but you might not get a parking spot right next to the restaurant. read more

Great customer service but it is slow even when it is pretty much empty. I had the salmon which was super salty. The hubs has the steak which was tough. The kids enjoyed their meals. One has chicken tenders and the other had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. read more

We had the most amazing server Sunday night. Our Waiter's name was William and he was the most polite person I have ever met! We never had to ask for anything the entire meal. went to car side, repeated 3 times over the phone no sauce. but when we went there they of course put sauce on it when i repeated multiple times. Oh! also they never come out when you pull up to the car side. I had to call them for them to come out. Had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to redo it. My question now is how is the food cold if they "re-did it" on top of that the broccoli is over cooked as well. I made an online order in hubby's name. I did not add a tip. When he went to pick it up they came out with a clipboard. Asked my husband if he wanted to tip after I had already paid the bill. for walking out with a bag to our car he tipped her $7.00. They should not ask for a tip after you paid. I will never go back again. My wife mentioned to me about all you can eat riblets and chicken fingers. So we ate and the server brought my wife, son and I plates for the second round. Between my son and I we had 2 chicken fingers left I asked for a box and the server said we can't let you take them home. Awful customer service from our server! We ordered 2 steaks medium well and while 1 was done perfectly the other came back well done, super dry no juice hard to cut or even chew, after taking 1 bite we sent it back to the kit hen and asked for one to be done medium well. First the manager came by and said this is medium well which was NOT true, and said this is how you asked for it when we showed her the other steak that WAS medium well she said ok we will fix it ... so we waited and waited while everyone from my party was done eating my steak was not back, 45 min later the steak comes out and I believe the manager brought it out didn't seemed like he cared he didn't apologize for the wait time and when we expressed that everyone was done eating and the steak wasn't wanted anymore because they took so long for our steak to come out he said alright I'll just take it back .. they then proceeded to TRY to charge us for the steak that we sent back initially and the manager "comped" the last steak for us because to them we ordered 3 steaks.. when we brought this to the servers attention she said and I quite " that wasn't a kitchen error so you have to pay for the second steak" and when I told her it wasn't a customer mistake because the kitchen is the one that cooks the meal she rolled her eyes, turned to her coworker and sarcastically said "Just another Sunday" as if I wasn't standing there, the manager however heard the entire interaction and didn't say a thing to her! Would never go back again! We were told there was a wait to be seated at an empty bar. Service started off great then quickly went down hill from there. We were told after 3 drinks we had to order food, so we ordered appetizers. We received our next drink and were told its their policy that they can't serve no more than 4 drinks. Mind you we ordered the $1 drinks which in two sips were done due to the small cups filled with lots of ice. We didn't receive our full order of food even though we had already reminded them twice. She reached out to our table to get the empty plates without saying excuse me. She also asked us if we need a box while we were still eating. When we paid she didn't even gave us our exact chance. You should be pulling people aside and at least asking them their take on what happened, let alone issuing reprimands. But NOOOOOOOOO..... I can tell when the message did not get across. Even the disgusting baby back ribs which we didn't eat. Again, we had to WAIT for a waitress (Miss Not-Schwarzenegger) to come by and tell them that we are NOT paying for the ribs, because they were poorly cooked and were DISGUSTING! another *** 5 *** minutes later, we got our corrected bill. Of COURSE no tip. Avoid with a passion. And someone PLEASE tell the bartender to STFU. Stop taking pics of the happy people at his bar with his cell phone. Guess what, bartender, they were there to watch the soccer game on TV, not be your best buddy. You are the center of attention, but not the main attraction at a place like Applebee's. Ok, so I am usually a very positive rater but this experience was pretty bad. I know they just opened BUT some of the issues we had tonight were not because they were new. My bf and I went for happy hour and were first seated in the regular section, then told we needed to go sit in the bar if we wanted happy hour prices.. ok cool. Then I asked if they had a specific salad I usually get at applebees but didnt see it on this menu, and our waitress said "if its not on the menu we dont have it". She kept asking us about drinks so my bf asked her about beer prices and she tells us she will get back to us (seems like something you should know if you work in the bar). Then he asked her what premium beers they had, and she literally says "the ones that aren't domestic". WOW! We were both trying not to laugh! Service was terrible, food was not great. Bf got nachos and they had the weirdest taste, we finally realized it was because the chips were burnt. I settled for the Shrimp and Spinach salad and was kind of grossed out by how my shrimp was lukewarm(hot or cold please!). We were able to laugh about our experience, but we decided we will most definitely be headed to San Dimas if we want Applebees anytime soon. I realize its a new place, but you have to compensate for bad service... if things are going to be slow, throw in a free drink or discount and definitely don't hire ditsy waiters/waitressses with additude. Food is pretty bad. It depends what you order, but what I got was horrible. I got some kind of chicken dish with potatoes. The chicken was dry and flavorless. 2 stars for cleanliness/appearance and good service. Besides that the food is not great. No one at my table seemed satisfied with their food. I would have given 3 stars even if my dish tasted bad, but the two stars comes because my dish was supposed to be one of the better dishes that was kinda pricey. We've been here a couple times and I while I realize what to expect by selecting Applebees for dinner, we still expect a pleasant experience. We selected the bar for dinner and a drink or two. The food is mediocre and that is to be expected. After ordering dinner for two each dish arrived 5 minutes apart. The interesting and annoying method of delivering the food consists of walking around the bar announcing the dish and waiting for a customer to claim it...FAIL Our bartender for the evening was Drew. Drew is attentive and friendly. Halfway through dinner Erick took over behind the bar. Here's a tip for future visitors...pay attention ladies - Erick will comp all your drinks! Some of them he wont even punch into the system so keep that in mind...a low cut top with a push up bra and drinks are free! I contemplated complaining to the manager, but he was busy staring at the breasts at the bar and I didn't want to interrupt him. We paid our check, left a 20% tip (hopefully Drew gets it) and we wont be back. I shouldn't hate though, after all it's not my loss...It's Applebees. They can continue to give away free drinks and I'll take my cash elsewhere. read more

OMG....so, yesterday my daughter and I decided to come here for lunch. It was around 2pm and there were very few patrons. We were greeted and seated right away, I asked the greeter if she could bring me a couple crackers, I had waited to long to eat and was getting super queasy. She sat us at the table, gave us menu's and took off. Luckily, she came right back with the crackers!!!! Then took off again. After a while, that seemed too long, I would guess about 10-15 minutes, I had my daughter check the time. From the time that I had my daughter check the time, until someone finally noticed us was 25 minutes. That's an around 40 minutes without even being noticed. When someone finally did acknowledge us, I immediately asked for the manager. When the manager came.....not quickly, btw.....I expressed how upset I was and that we were leaving AND NEVER coming back. He proceeded to tell me "Oh, well that's too bad, I was going to buy your entire lunch"....ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Here I say I am leaving, and he says that, I mean.....how do I even respond to that? I have already said I am leaving....OH the entire situation pisses me off! OMG.....I will never, ever go there again!!!! And I am a local, and this is not the first time they have been terrible!!! Went in and there were very few people. We were seated quickly, which was great, but the good service stopped there. We were sitting down for 15 minutes before we saw our waitress (I think her name was Eliza). She finally came and asked if we were ready to order. Didn't even apologize for the wait or ask if we wanted a drink and she was not friendly at all. Worst experience ever. My son and I stopped by for lunch. Our waitress didn't greet us and just took our drink order. She looked like she was hung over. My son ordered a steak and I ordered a chicken bowl. His steak smelled and tasted so bad!! The waitress tells that she thought it smelled bad as well but still served it to my son. We both took a bite of it and it was so disgusting!! All she kept saying was that she didn't know what was going on here because of issues she had precious days with the food. She then had my son choose something else. He ordered the chicken fettuccine. Noodles undercooked, chicken rubbery and the most bland pasta sauce ever. I gave up and asked for our check. I stopped at front and spoke to the manager. She denied anything had happened before with the food and didn't make much effort to correct the situation. I was in the service business for years. If a server received a complaint about he food, regardless of whether a manager was called, I would make my way to that customer and try to correct the situation. It was the worst $50 spent. This Applebee's really pissed me off. All was well until we were sat at the bar and the bartender asked for my ID. He would not accept it because it has been folded in half and has a crease in the middle. I have been to many other places and no one has had an issue with the ID. However, I understand that it is the law. So I went home to grab another form of ID, but when I returned I saw that they had given our table away even though we said we would be back very shortly. We then proceeded to wait an additional 30 minutes after being told it was only going to be a 5 minute wait until they could seat us again. But the drinks were good, sweet and watered down as usual. read more
