When I didn't feel like cooking on a Sunday evening after a weekend of entertaining, I ordered carside to go from Applebee's. I had the chicken rice bowl, my husband the shrimp and my son the burger along with mozzarella sticks and cheese bites that were fried. The service from the attendant was wonderful. I ordered online via a web browser. It then said I had to download the app to check in so they'd bring my order out to me. There was no way to connect my order but the gentleman saw my car and brought me the order. Everything remained warm on the ride home and was enjoyed by my family. read more

Stopped in here for a bite to eat before going to a concert at the CMAC and even though they were busy, the wait was quick. My server Taryn was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. As for the food, it was delicious! I ordered a very tasty chicken bowl and it certainly was filling. I do not recommend coming to this Applebees. My coworkers and I were there for a coworker's going away lunch. We had called earlier within the week to for a reservation and was told that there was no reservation. When arriving at Applebees, they were not only unprepared but were rude with the service that was provided. Not only did our waitress not check on us at all to see how the food was, but we did not get refills on our drinks at all. We ended up waiting for over an hour for our appetizers and another fifteen minutes later we had gotten our food. When getting our food most people's meals were cold, or things were forgotten. My coworkers and I made sure that we were there when they open, but they weren't prepared when it comes to our food. After speaking to the manager about the poor service not only when arriving did they expect a big tip, but he had the nerve to ask for a tip when getting ready to leave. The manager also had made rude comments about us when we were getting ready to ask where our food was. -01/10. I'm afraid tonight my husband and I had an awful experience at the Applebee's in Canandaigua. We arrived around 6:15pm, were sat, and ordered our entrees and drinks. Our drinks came out quickly, but 30 mins later we were still waiting on our food. I asked for a refill on my iced tea, which never came. After 40 mins our food came out, and it was cold. Also, no silverware or napkins. My husband had to walk to the server station to get us silverware and napkins. I ordered the chicken broccoli alfredo, and the whole dish was cold and gross. I asked to speak to a manager, but we were told he was cooking and was too busy to see us. I told the waiter we couldn't eat this and were leaving. He asked if we wanted our meals boxed up. I said no, and we left. Very disappointing, to wait 40 mins and be served a room temperature dish. ( and never got the drink refill I asked for, either) Is this place really so understaffed? Just a quick review- stopped in after having a horrible day - bar tender filled the drinks right to the top which was wonderful! The food was amazing- the server Brandon told us it was a new menu and just rolled out today- I had the burbon mushroom Swiss burger which was cooked perfectly and so flavorful- did I mention the server! Not a bad place to stop and meet up with friends and family for lunch and/or dinner. Stopped twice in one day because it seemed to be the most central spot everyone knew to get together. Burgers here are okay. I asked for pink (both times) but still got well done - I get it, it's not Morton's, or even Outback. However, the toppings on the burgers were what made the meal, so there was nothing else to fuss about. They tasted good and went down well. Service was great both times - our servers were friendly, all smiles, and kept our drinks coming, checking on us regularly to make sure we were taken care of. read more

1. I took my parents to Applebee's in Canandaigua yesterday and did not even stay for the meal. What a disappointment. When we arrived around 7PM, the dinner rush was mostly over and there were many open tables, yet we were told there was at least a 15 minute wait. That wasn't a problem until we noticed that many employees stood around talking in corners of the restaurant, not working. My mom is in a wheelchair, and the restaurant is not ADA approved. The aisles were not navigable, the restroom had a huge threshold to cross, and the handicapped stall was occupied by yet another employee who did not need a handicapped stall. We ended up leaving out a side door exit. Dining at Applebee's used to be a family tradition, but I certainly will not be back for a while, maybe not ever. At bare minimum, please improve your handicap accessibility. read more

Went to applebees tonight for our son's birthday. We asked our waitress if he gets a free desert for his birthday. She said "we don't do that anymore, and that we have to download an app and sign up for it to be free, but I would be more than happy to sing for you. I will also ask my manager if I can do the free desert. " I saw her go up to the manager, ask him politely if she can give us the free desert, and the manager yelled at her for asking. I heard him say "absolutely not, if I give out one desert then everyone in this restaurant will want one for their birthdays." I am very upset about this. This turned my stomach to watch. It's not just about the "free" desert. It's the principal. Many of us are living paycheck to paycheck with this inflation. And this manager had no consideration for my son's birthday. Bravo to our waitress however I believe her name was Tonya. who sang for our son and also gave him some stickers and some candy and made him feel extra special for his birthday. However as far as the management there, Applebees should clean house and start all over. Also noting that this is not the only time I seen a manager there yell at their employees, which should not be happening in front of customers in the dining room to begin with. read more

Literally the worst experience possibly ever. If you like to wait 45 minutes in an empty restaurant for cold, undercooked food this place is for you. My husband sat for a solid 5 minutes after they slid his chicken from a salad that he didn't order to the Cesar salad he did. It was pretty neat. I could go on, but I think you get the point. Waitress wasn't knowledgeable, wanted to charge us extra when one of us asked to have some items taken off a menu item. Steak tasted like gas, fries and mashed potatoes came out cold, and it was obvious that they were old. One of us ordered French onion soup, the bowl was half filled, there was no liquid only bread, onion pieces and cheese. Waitress said that each chef fills the bowl according to their own style. Manager comped the soup. But we questioned how clean the kitchen was, when even the manager looked dis shoveled. Now can I take the initiative and ask myself, not trying to be a lazy millennial here...but no sooner than I want to ask (as well get another drink) they fling the bill at us in that oh so 'thanks for your business but GTFO' fashion...so at that point I'm like 'screw it' I just want to leave. Oh and to assure I GTFO as quickly as possible they make sure to slowly explain that I can use that little computer kiosk thing at the table...because y'know those ALWAYS work great and I'm a total numbskull who's never seen one and doesn't know how to sign my name with a...what's that word again? Update July 20202: Emailed as advised in response. Not a word from Applebee's. Not typically the "Karen" type but I had to share my experience. Visited this establishment tonight with a group of 11. Was greeted with "We will put you over there at a couple booths, it's not all together but close enough." Keep note, the manager sat us and the place was empty. We agreed and were seated. We ordered our meals. The first hiccup came when we placed our order, offering the "All you can eat, mix and match dinner", my husband attempted to order in which was replied with "Oh yea, you can't mix and match, I can't get it to work in the computer but let me double check". She never came back so we assumed all was well with the order we placed. My parents waited 45 minutes for their salads. The waitress brought out the others meals shortly after. No sauce for the kids chicken as requested, my mothers meal was missing a side, and our 2 meals would supposedly be right out. The waitress did offer apologies. Our family had finished eating and we were still waiting. The waitress then brought over a plate for my husband. She forgot to put my meal in again. I said it's ok, no worries. My husband bit into his ribs, they were ice cold. At this point we had were over it. We were beyond patient and kind but we were starving and frustrated. I told the waitress we were going to be leaving and to forget about my meal, I asked her to bring the check for our 2 sodas. After a few minutes my husband went over to ask for the check so we could go eat somewhere else. She said it's ok sir you are all set. We left our family to go find other food. We arrived back at the hotel where my family informed me the waitress was upset that my husband "jumped down her throat" about the mishap and that it wasn't her fault. My husband definitely did not behave in such a way and I believe she was trying to secure a decent tip. Well if you, the waitress, are reading this, here's a few tips: DO NOT MANGLE the silverware with your hands in front of customers (or at least clean under your fingernails), DO NOT GLOAT about how your coworkers were fired but it's not a big deal because your the most amazing waitress (clearly we need to work on those skills), DO NOT LIE to the accompanying party of displeased customers, and lastly, DO NOT carry the drinks with your thumb on the inside of the rim of the cup. The waitress came over and said it would be a few more minutes and I told her I was not interested in it at this point. My spouse had already gotten and eaten his meal. The manager came over and offered to give it to me as a take home order and I declined. He was a bit bristly and that made me really angry. He said he would take it off my bill. I thought the manager was ready for a fight when he came to the table. He apologized but did not act like he was sorry. He basically had a bad attitude. I will never go to this Applebee's again. Twenty two minutes after seated, no drink or order taken? Second time I've walked out, terrible service.

Went to Applebee's and used their carside to go option. Arrived 5 minutes after the time stated on their app. When you are parked in spot 1 or 2 you can see in where the waitresses are supposed to be. We could see a couple of bags that looked to be ready to be picked up. Waited ten minutes and no one came out to check on us. There wasn't any other cars in the carside to go when we arrived. My wife and I saw the waitress sitting inside occasionally but again no effort was made. After 15 minutes, my wife went in and asked the waitress if our food was ready. She reached over and gave her one of the bags that was on the counter. The food was cold and we wasted all that time because the waitress couldn't be bothered. I like that Applebees is very active in the community and wouldn't hesitate to eat at the restaurant but their carside to go is spotty at best. Their are nights they are very good and their are nights that someone should be fired. Its truly hit or miss and we don't usually get good service. If you use carside to go at this location, just walk in and get it or go somewhere else. Terribly disappointed and wish I could say this was a one time thing. Again, I'm not trying to say everyone that works the carside to go is this way but the manager should be doing a much better job on getting quality people that actually want to work. read more

I tried this location yesterday for the first time and could not be happier with the experience. Between the incredibly short wait time (~6:30PM, very surprised!), the excellent service and personality of our server, and the food itself, this property truly outdid itself, especially when it comes to value for price paid! I tried the margarita upsold by our server, Kari, and it was great! Kari was attentive, helpful, friendly, and always smiling - cannot beat the customer service! I also tried the maple pecan mashed sweet potatoes and I can't wait to come back for them ASAP! Yesterday I called at 2 p.m to order five meals and sides for my boys birthdays. I asked the order be ready by 6 p.m. The worker who took my order read it back and I confirmed everything was correct. I showed up at 545. The waitress bringing meals out asked my name stated she didn't have an order with that name. I then called inside the restaurant. I was put on hold ten minutes when I was told they had found my order. I then waited another 25 minutes for my order to come out. By bill was around $101.00. Due to the crap service I only gave a ten dollar tip.. typically I tip better but waitress was not serving food just bringing it out. When I got home I realized I was missing two full meals. I called restaurant told them it wasn't on receipt. She stated they had one of the two meals there I could come back. At this point I was so frustrated between crappy service, cold food mind you I live three minutes up road and burnt onion rings. What a dissapointment. We are a family of 5 that's not considering going back. It was a busy night for them but that's still no excuse. We had to wait 35 minutes to be seated and then over 1 1/2 hours before food came out. When the food came out 3 of the orders were wrong and you could tell that some of the meals had sat under a heat lamp for too long. Things on the plates that should have been cold were hot at that point and other things were dried out. They corrected the orders that were wrong and after speaking with the manager after eating they did discount the meal. Because of the wait and the mistakes though, I had lost most of my appetite and was irritated. What should have been an enjoyable night out turned into anything but that.
