After we were told we had a 25 minute wait, we stood out in the cold for 40 minutes and then when I went back in to check where we were on the list they turned us away an hour before closing. I had a reservation for 9:00p. When I arrived at 9:05 the staff proceeded to lie to me and say they didn't take reservations. After showing them I made a reservation on my phone (through this app), They pulled up my name on the iPad but still wouldn't seat me. The hostess working 02/18/21 was extremely disrespectful. We should have walked away when our table was sticky and the place smelled like mildew but we didn't and now I regret it. Service was slow, appetizers came out after our entree, shrimp tasted like it had spent a long time in the freezer before it was cooked and asking for a drink refill required a search party. I will learn to avoid these chains eventually. read more

Went to Applebee's for the first time in mind birthday, I had baby back ribs, they were tough and over cooked, could hardly cut them with my steak knife, the mashed potatoes and man and cheese were okay, it took forever to get out food, the drink was pretty good, I doubt I will go back too soon! read more

I'm still frustrated and it's been a few weeks. Ordered food for delivery with specific request to cut steak as it was going to a nursing home patient. Called to verify. Was told by the Manager that "they won't do it because it takes too much time". Really??? Cutting an 8oz steak backs up your kitchen? I didn't ask you to pluck a chicken. I explained the situation again - nursing home and I couldn't be there - and she eventually begrudgingly agreed for this one time. Don't worry there won't be a second time. Talk about a lack of compassion and lame excuses. I don't actually know if they even did it. I had ordered from there a lot as the person enjoyed it, but we will find somewhere else. Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered tacos got three flour tortillas with a total of a tablespoon of meat between all three. I think the meat quality was less than what I feed my dog. I have never been more disappointed. My husbands pasta was bland and my daughters burger was burnt. Overall worst eating out experience will never got to another Applebee's. It really is a neighborhood bar and grill. Not a fan of franchises but they really make it local here. They do wonderful charity support. Haven House being a major effort on their part. Love this place read more

Depends on whether you like being around unruly drinkers. Our mistake was taking our children there shortly after 5PM. I assume the heavy drinking doesn't start much before five. The raucous atmosphere is intimidating for kids. One needs to consider that this isn't just a restaurant; it's a bar, too, and adults go there to party. The fare is typically consistent of the chain's food (the closest organic compounds come to plastic, I suppose, but that's not all bad bc it was fresh enough due to the fact that it takes centuries for plastic molecules to break down). Seriously, though, the food is consistently reliable for what you can expect at Applebees, which means mediocre and uninspired (unless you like making a meal of appetizers). read more

Very dissatisfied. Server was okay but food was awful. Stale tortilla chips, hardly any chicken on my tacos and quesadillas. My bowl of beer cheese wasn't even filled a quarter inch high, asked the host for a new one, (since my server wasn't over to check on how things came out) and she brought back one no better than the first. All portion sizes were significantly smaller than any other Applebee's I've been to. Asked for extra limes was given one. Forgot all sauces I requested plus some sauces that were supposed to automatically come with the appetizers. Will not be coming to this location again, they should be embarrassed and ashamed of the quality food & service they're providing. read more

I always have great service when dining here. There is almost always walk-up seating at the bar (except during big games!) and the atmosphere is fun and laid back. The food is decent (it's an Applebee's not 5-Star dining) and I've never been disappointed by anything. Their 550 Calorie options are actually surprisingly good (though high in sodium like most chain restaurants so look out!). Drink specials are pretty decent and this particular location is just far enough way from downtown East Lansing to be free of the hordes of students that crowd out some restaurants. read more
