Drove 2 2/12 hours from Los Angeles to Escondido. Was very hungry and excited when I saw Applebees. My husband and I waited for them to open today. We sat down first, our orders taken right away. 4 other parties came in and ordered. Then suddenly they were served before us. The waitress, Yovan, kept passing our table and did not even notice we had no food. We had somewhere else to go and thought we had plenty of time to eat but time went by and we needed to go without eating. We told another waitress we were leaving since others were being served when we were there first. She apologized and did not know how to handle this. We left and headed to McDonald's. We got served immediately with a smile and constant attention to make sure if we needed anything else. We were acknowledged much better than Applebees. We will give McDonald's a 5 star read more

i love coming to applebees for late night happy hour for the half priced apps. usually the food is lukewarm warm but i still like it. at this location the food came out in a reasonable time, the food was perfect temperature and it actually looked good too! super impressed with this location. best applebees in san diego county for sure! read more

HANDI-CAP PARKING Applebees come on.. Why did you move your handicap spots in the worst location in your parking lot? It was not in the best interest and convenience for the people going to use these spaces no.. The spaces are small and not the regular sizes to be actually used for someone that has to bring out a wheelchair. The blue crossed out spaces are tiny. On top of that- there is a STEP-UP CURB next to these spaces! the ramp is at the other end of the parking lot.. Why are the spots not at the end WHERE THE RAMP IS? closest to the door. You guys got it backwards and not sure if it's done for closer employee parking? But it's messed up where u moved it. DO BETTER. read more

Just walked in to have lunch after seeing a commercial recently. Sat myself in the bar area at one of the high tables and a server walked over and looked unhappy that I seated myself....she approached and the first thing I asked was....is it ok that I sit here? She replied....is it just you? I said yes.....she then looked around the restaurant....so I said.....I didn't see any smaller tables so I picked this one.....she then replied....there are smaller tables but we'll go ahead. I stayed for about three minutes and felt uncomfortable so as I was getting up another person approached and said is anything wrong....I said it appears the other server is unhappy that I selected this spot to sit and it made feel feel uncomfortable so I'll just find someplace else to have lunch.....she replied....ok. I have to amend my review Thanks to the manager of Applebee's of Escondido Jose. After my review and my feedback sent to corporate. I was contacted by Jose who adamantly apologized for this Injustice towards my wife and explicitly told me that this should never have happened. He felt that it was on his shoulders that training was lacking in his personnel for ADA compliance and wanted to thank me for pointing out this shortcoming. He mentioned that he had established training with his staff to make sure that this never happens again. Like most restaurants he invited us to return for a meal with some trepidation my wife and I agreed. So this Saturday we returned to watch the big game. Upon entering we were met by Jose who shook my hand and greeted my wife we were given a table within the view of a TV they immediately put on closed captioning for her and our meal was cooked properly and the service was exquisite. We will be returning because of this excellent service and attention to our needs. read more

Came here Saturday at 630ish and wait wasn't too bad. But the place got packed as soon as we sat down. Our server Zach was very nice and friendly. We ordered mozzarella stick and it came out pretty fast. It was pretty good with marina sauce. Margarita was refreshing and good! It took little longer for entrees to come out but steak was pretty good. Mashed potatoes were definitely from powder. Chicken tenders were crispy and good. The four pasta was descent. My brother and I came in for dinner, his treat, since he knows food is the way to get me out of the house during the week. We ordered the 2 for $26, and let's just be honest coming to Applebee's we know it's good food, a good price, and a welcoming environment. I ordered my steak and my brother ordered a burger with the appetizer being some boneless wings. Everything was delicious as to be expected. I have never had a bad experience at this Applebee's. The service at Applebee's today totally sucked extremely unsatisfactory. Today at 12:15 my friend and I walk in for lunch, and was settled for 10 min. No waitress came over to take our order. Meanwhile other customers entered the restaurant afterwards and they' were greeted and ordered taken. So disrespectful. Before leaving we addressed the issue to the manager and he took no action whatsoever. He looked so dumbfounded and should not be managing anyone or any restaurant. This Applebees is always staffed with the loveliest people. Have always had excellent service and today was no exception. Baylee tending the bar did a magnificent job deflecting an oddly aggravated-for-no-reason patron sitting at the bar who was throwing a fit about the mozzarella sticks no longer being able to "swing the cheese all around." I'm not joking, this grown man was literally throwing a childlike tempter tantrum raising his voice and ripped open every single mozzarella stick on his plate to then not even take a single bite... for what? Who knows! He even claimed he's ordered them "the last couple times" he's been and that it was the same problem. Listen, they looked cheesy enough to me, so not sure what the problem was. He was yelling something about the sticks not being the same as they were 20 years ago--YIKES my guy... people and recipes change. Anyways, Baylee kept calm and professional during the whole situation and handled it so gracefully all while whipping up delicious cocktails and beverages unbothered. I ordered the seasonal Golden Goose and she made it SO GOOD! Honestly looked at tasted like a fancy cocktail you'd get at a swanky bar downtown. The only unpleasant thing about today's visit at Applebees was the unruly motz-hater. His comments and grumblings were so unnecessary and dampened happy hour. Came tonight for a late night dinner and was so happy to see two seats at the bar. Our bartender Alex did a fantastic job handling the full bar and continuous drink tickets. All the guests were attended to, including myself and I felt like even though he was so busy he gave us such genuine attention! Lilly, a server, came over and was noticeable helpful getting through drink tickets with him. It was just a fun experience to see these two so fluidly work side by side. We did the 2 for $33 with bourbon street chicken and shrimp (comes with sauteed mushrooms/onions and mashed potatoes) and the 8oz steak with loaded mashed potatoes and everything was amazing! What an utterly abysmal experience. I came for a solo lunch on a weekday and ordered the appetizer sampler. This is a classic Applebee's dish with boneless buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, spinach dip, and chicken quesadillas. Everything came out room temperature with coagulated sauce on the wings. The mozzarella sticks were solidified - more like string cheese from the fridge. Everything was disgusting, pallid, and limp. Everything was excellent from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. We were seated immediately. Our server helped us quickly . Food came out fresh and hot. But what made this experience the absolute best was our server Rosendo "Ros" !!! he was by far one of the best servers we had had in a very very long time. He refilled our drinks before we had to ask, was right on with our orders that included substitutions and was gracious and friendly with us the entire time. Stopped by during Happy hour on Wednesday, and set at the bar. It was not crowded, the place was clean, and the bar tender Victoria made the time with family the best. She was very helpful when it came to order drinks and was always making sure that we were good and our drinks were good. The food is great, the cocktails are yummy, and our server was wonderful. Super sweet lady! But we will NEVER come back here again! The noise level and atmosphere are awful! There are tons of people crammed into sections with screaming kids, yelling kids, and loud adults. It almost felt like an SNL parody because it was all so over the top. I kept waiting for someone to jump out and say we were all being pranked. The Manager was standing right at the hostess stand and did nothing about crowd control. There was also a young man walking tables asking how everything was but he never stopped at ours. My husband and I both wore air pods the entire time to try to drown out the chaos around us. I cannot stress enough how awful this dining experience was. The ladies next to us are dropping F bombs so loud that I can hear them from where I'm sitting. The trio of ladies behind them are screaming in spanish & the toddler behind us is once again screaming at the top of her lungs. What is happening here?! Upon entering the restaurant, my daughter and I noticed the different types of seating that was available. There was bar and lounge type areas, booths with window views as well as more intimate dining areas. We chose a window booth. The restaurant was very cool for the hot summer day that it is. For people who enjoy getting out of the sun, it was great. For me personally, it was a bit chilly, but much better than dining somewhere with little air conditioning. Our server Torey welcomed us with a very bright smile and made us feel welcomed. As if inviting us to her own place. She was very attentive, and made sure our meal was just right. And like a professional, made the right suggestions after having a little conversation with us. She really picked up on our preferences. We went in for the 2 for $25 special that my daughter heard about from a television ad. My daughter had the chicken parmesan fettuccine and was very pleased with the fettuccine especially. The portion was a good value for the price. I had the grilled hamburger with the jalapeño drizzle. I must say,I was the perfect mix of flavor with just a little spice to it. I loved it! Ordered a mocktail and verified multiple times that the drink I wanted was a MOCKTAIL. The server was annoyed and said yes each time that thats what I was ordering. As soon as my drink is brought to the table my whole family is enjoying it because it tastes to good including my 5-year-old, and as soon as I was going to give my 1-year-old a taste the waitress says that my drink has alcohol. She ordered an alcoholic drink despite me pointing at the mocktail section and reading off the name "Strawberry Nada Colada" and asking multiple times that its non-alcoholic, but she didnt even say sorry she just said, "I thought you said Bacardi Pina Coloda Strawberry Swirl". She is serving someone who is clearly pregnant alcoholic drinks when being specifically asked for NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. The worst experience at any Applebees ever and I have been served raw chicken once. I would rate this place a negative 5 if I could. Customer service was the worse. No one was smiling as we waited for close to 15min to be seated with no one saying how long the wait is. When it was time to be seated the table was wiped with a dirty wet towel and the flood was full of food as well as our seats still had food in it. We were so discussed that we decided to go elsewhere. This place needs a makeover from the front door customer service to the actual cleaning service. Applebee's this location is NOT the business you represent but looking at your review locations, it seems to be that way. You are contaminating we paying customers with this poor nasty service!!! Took my daughter, son in law and two grandchildren to dinner last night (Friday 11/28/25). The manager sat us at a booth and laid out the menus utensils and gave grand kids coloring page then walked off. We notice there was no crayons for them to color with so we asked for crayons and were told they had no crayons and left a single pen for them to share. Then we ordered, both grand kids wanted corndogs ( they were out) ok... son in law ordered Parmesan steak with shrimp and wanted broccoli (out of broccoli) ok... daughter ordered one of the burgers and asked for onion rings (out of onion rings) ok seriously? The burgers were ordered med rare both were well and not even formed burger but more rather ground meat with toppings on a bun... is this your standard really? Manager milled around either oblivious or just didn't care, this is a Friday night early like 6pm. Completely substandard even for an Apple Bees. Do better people. Either hire management with experience or bring in corporate help. You can reach out to me on this post, but I'll for-warn you there is no excuse for this experience. The putty is that your staff has to endure the brunt of customer dismay and it's not even close to their fault. 1. No care for your customers 2. No care for your employees. We don't eat at Applebees very often but we had some Christmas gift cards to use. Surprisingly this place was pretty packed on a Sunday night. After a long day at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I was jonesing for appetizers. Applebees was running a promotion for all you can riblets, shrimp, chicken strips and fries for 12.99. I'd have to say that for the price it was worth it. You do have to finish your plate completely before you can order a new option. However, for my shrimp I just asked for a small plate and they obliged. -Riblets ( very saucy, and I had two orders and they both were prepared completely differently. First batch the riblets were very long, the second batch were small squares. - Chicken Tenders ( these also varied between plates. Small and dry, then large and juicy) - Shrimp (Nice, loved the tangy cocktail sauce they included) I might come back to Applebees, when they offer the AYCE again. read more

Came here on a Thursday night for happy hour and it was great! I got the seasonal drink "Tipsy Cupid" for $5 and It was delicious!! Not too sweet either. My drink took a while to get to me, but it was understandable since it was very busy. The food was delicious my favorite had to be the spinach & artichoke dip honestly, I could it that as my entree The boneless wings were on point and I have to say the spicy Asian glaze is my favorite.
