I haven't reviewed many chain restaurants along the way, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts on a recent trip to Applebees. They've been advertising a $9.99 burger special recently and I wanted to give it a try. I'm impressed. For about a buck more than a Big Mac combo, I didn't have to sit in my car, or the fast food equivalent to Disney World to eat lunch! We had great service and the burgers were juicy and delicious. Next time I'll probably sit at the bar and order the wings, but I'll be back for sure. read more

While visiting in New York we stopped at Applebee's for lunch. The Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad was unbelievably delicious. While my wife had the Blackened Cajun Salmon she was equally as pleased. Going out of her way to please us, our server Nicole C was the best. I went to this location during 11/23 w/3 adults & a young child. As for the seating, my only gripe was that we were seated next to the bar; not a good idea when you have minors in your party. My impossible cheeseburger was de-li-cious!! I was pleasantly surprised. Applebees is never a place that I go to due to several bad experiences at their now closed Coram location. But my burger was amazing. The fries were great!!! I really hope that when I go here again, that the food quality is super-satisfying. I mean, look at that pic!!! Makes me want to go eat out...a lil. The place was packed when we walked in so we thought it was a good sign. They have a good happy hour and good hangout vibe so we met up for a drink and some dinner. The portions were absolutely ridiculous. Been coming to this location for years, finally decided to write a review on it. Definitely had my ups and downs here through all the phases and rebranding, and came into this review fully expecting to give a 3 star rating BUT over the years I've had some very good meals here, some bad, but tonight was delicious so 4 stars feels appropriate. -Boneless Wings: 5/5, these have been my favorite boneless wings from any chain forever. I think they're better than TGIF, Chili's, etc. the honey bbq is amazing. -Burgers are often a hit or miss, I've had some delicious burgers and I've had some grease soaked buns with barely edible meat between them. -Tonight's meal though we got the 2 for $27 and got the Bourbon Chicken and shrimp & the fiesta lime chicken. I have to admit I was FULLY impressed with both dishes. The flavor, presentation, everything really blew me away. I definitely recommend either dish. Overall, this location has been around for a long time and I hope it stays. I've had a lot of good meals and memories and will continue to have more (with a few less than mediocre meals I'm sure) but when it's all said and done I'll continue coming to this location as long as it's here. read more

Terrible customer service. Food luke warm and sloppily presented. So much grease in the Bourbon chicken container. Did NOT have my grandson's food in the bag. And when I called the manager AKA "BRAINLESS WONDER" tells me to calm down he's gonna help me. He admitted on the phone he's the one who packed the order how did he make MANAGER? He forgot my grandson's whole meal that's why these businesses are going out of business. He didn't even care he told me to calm down. I'm gonna help you how can you help me you're the manager you didn't even pack the order correctly!!!!!!! You should be doing stock buddy and you don't know how to talk to customers that's my last trip there and I'm gonna make sure none of my friends go there either. Oh I know what else to do. It's a staple of Long Island, mediocre food and a seating area to talk to your friends. I've been a bunch but today I had shrimp, which was fine. My friend got the mac and cheese which was literally kraft. I really only can recommend like half apps and the lunch specials. Not a bad place but it's pretty meh. read more

Tonight we all got to experience a wonderful dinner at Applebees. Our easier DN was excellent in his service and delivery if the dinners, not rushing out appetizers. For appetizers were had the hot and crunchy mozzarella sticks with a nice warm marinara sauce. We also had the artichoke dip which we delicious as well. For dinner we head the bourbon bacon burger...awesome, the Thai shrimp salad with peanut sauce and lemon vinegarette, firecracker shrimp with past and the Bourbon st. Shrimp. All dishes were very plentiful and delicious. Dan was awesome with his service and the manager Faysal stopped by to check in on us, making sure that all was perfect. Great job!! read more

I love Applebees in Farmingville. The waitstaff is friendly, the food is good and always hot. We go frequently. The last 3 or 4 times I ordered a glass of wine the glass has some sort of crusty s and plenty of watermarks, I found myself wetting a napkin and wiping the outside of the glass so as not to upset anyone( bartender) by sending it back. I'd give it one star, but our poor waitress that was running around like a chicken without a head earned this place an extra star. It's Applebees...I didn't expect a whole lot, but this was probably the most sub-par experience I've had at any Applebees location. We waited forever for our food (which was literally just a sandwich and boneless wings), while everyone who was seated after us had food coming out left and right. Not only did it take an eon to get our food, but it came to the table cold...come on. I will acknowledge the fact that they looked incredibly short staffed as the manager himself was out serving the tables their food. I'm not one to complain, but seriously, do better. read more

Stopped in the Farmingville location last night and everything was great. We were pressed for time to catch a train, and Sarah our server did a wonderful job taking out order and patiently taking my parent's rather specific drink orders (they are regulars at the Riverhead location). Drinks and appetizers came out quickly, as did our main meals - all were excellent. Sarah brought out our "to go" boxes and the check, and we were out the door with time to spare. This is the closest Applebee's to my home recently, it's still typical of all Applebee's food and general atmosphere... I mostly order take out lately. This location can sometimes take a long time to take your order and get food and the staff isn't the most friendly... but I've definitely had a better experience doing curbside. read more

I have a million complaints about our experience here- but I'll just stick with a few: They 'closed' before closing time; begrudgingly agreed to serve us food; brought us half there and half 'to go'. What is the point if you're going to balk the entire time?! I'd much rather go ANYWHERE else if you are going to make us feel badly about our asking for food, for you being a FOOD establishment. Thanks for that. I really have no idea whether the bartender thought she was doing us a favor, a horrible person, and/or just should have a non-people job. The niceties after we were about to leave were perplexing, possibly because my ridiculously too-kind companion left a ridiculously huge tip. Why I still have no idea. We ended up trying to eat it in the parking lot. That being said, the food was inedibly salty. After driving 12 hrs w no food, I had two bites and just could NOT eat this. Good food and service. Nothing spectacular to rave about but no issues. Food was cooked to order and server was very courteous.

I honestly never dare to come to a place like applesbees on a saturday night. The crowds can get crazy and with a toddler waiting can be such a nightmare. However i was so pleasantly surprised today. My husband had called around 7 to see how busy they were and they actually took our name down after we told them we were 10mins away from there. When we got their the place was packed as usual but we waited about 5mins and the hostess brought us to our table. After sitting down about 5mins later the waitress came over to get our drinks and we placed our order since we already knew what we wanted and we figured it was gonna be a long wait. Again we were pleasantly surprised we got our appetizer and my son got his entree in less than 10mins! And then our food followed shortly. We had the spinach dip which was amazing! Not overly salty and tasted so good! I ordered the oriental salad. That dressing is so good!! Hubby got the all day brunch burger which he loved! Overall a great experience!! read more
