The food was good. Service is slower than molasses. The manager is useless. Applebees has potential but this location needs a new manager.

This was absolutely my worst experience at an Applebee's, and maybe even my worst experience dining out ever. We had three different servers greet us once we were seated and then we were mostly ignored from that point on. I couldn't tell you who our server even was. The food was even worse than the service. My fiancé's dish tasted awful. They brought her garlic bread probably 20 minutes after she received her pasta entree. Applebee's used to be my favorite restaurant to go to...not any more. We ordered an 8 oz sirloin, medium, that came out lakeshore leather. Even the staff agreed it was bad and he replaced the entire order and gave us a small discount for the inconvenience. As for the restaurant itself, it has seen better days and needs a complete renovation. Worn out dirty carpet, and sticky floors. Just not a pleasant experience. Started off on the wrong foot when I was looking at their menu and when the server asked what we would like to drink. I ordered an IPA from their menu. The server looked at me like I was speaking Chinese. She said she had never heard of it and I was like well it's on your menu. She went and checked and they didn't have it so I opted for a water. The service was fine and the the food was ok but some of the chips with our appetizer were extremely old to where they had a chemical taste. Not stale, I'm talking so old they had that chemical taste that I presume is the preservatives going bad. I know not everyone knows what I'm talking about but I imagine some of you do. My wife and I ordered the same thing and her steak mashed potatoes wasa lot bigger than mine. Maybe they thought I needed to go on a diet. Ha ha. We stopped by this restaurant on May 26th . Upon entry, I was shocked at how dirty the floors were and wanted to leave based upon the condition, but husband wanted to eat there, so we unfortunately stayed for him. They tried to seat us as a dirty table, when I complained we were moved to a new table. I ordered the Quesadilla Salad without chicken, as I am a vegetarian. I stressed several times to the waiter that I do not eat meat and to omit any meat. After ordering, I noticed would forks were very dirty, so I asked to box my salad up to take home and I ate the Quesadilla with my hands instead of using their silverware, which I didn't trust would be clean. I did not tell the waiter the reason I wanted the salad to go. I just opened my take home salad and it was filled with chicken. Since the was soggy, I didn't notice the chicken at first and starting eating it. I am totality disgusted! The place was totality dead and it is not like the staff was super busy. Just called and let the manager to let him know my experience and he stated the carpets are cleaned/shampooed monthly and only offered to remake me a salad, after I repeatedly told him I did not live there. The service was okay. The food though was terrible. I ordered the unlimited boneless wings for lunch. They were not even sauced and tasted like they had been sitting for a long time. Since we had a gift card, we celebrated our wedding anniversary today at Applebee's. We had the 2/$20. We both had Caesar salads, and Hubby had the Chicken Cavatappi while I had the grilled Bourbon chicken and shrimp. The salads were good and the Parmesan cheese on top was generous. Hubby devoured his dish, but mine was so hot I had to let it cool before eating it! After getting past the char-grilled part of the chicken, it was tasty but a bit dry. The grilled red potatoes were also a bit dry, but the shrimp was good. I think the dryness of the chicken and potatoes may be where the cast iron was so hot that they continued to cook even after being served! I'd like to try the dish again to see if it would be more moist, but I may try to replicate it at home instead! read more

Should have red the reviews first, according to Applebees website. Chicken tenders platter come with fries and cole slaw. I paid for a chicken tenders platter and a side salad with Caesar dressing. Not a Caesar salad. I got a Caesar salad chicken strips and cole slaw. No fries and my ticket was 19 dollars, I picked it up curb side and didn't get fries. When I called they said I substituted my fries with cole slaw...... right , so they charged me 19 dollars for chicken strips slaw and a small Caesar salad. The food and kitchen staff were very disappointing . My son ordered a burger that was tough as a hockey puck. We asked our server to have it remade. When she told the kitchen she came back out and informed us it would be twenty minutes to remake (they only had maybe 5 tables at the time). Later on the cook proceeded to bring the remade burger out, clearly irate, then proceeded to practically drop in on the table in front of us. We were so bothered by his attitude we didn't let our son have the remade burger proceeded to pay and leave. The rest of the food was mediocre. I'm making this review on behalf of my wife for the Applebee's in Frankfort Ky. We place an order close to $100 for two adults and a child!! Get the order home and it is nowhere near what we order. My wife calls the store to let them know and of course they just put her on hold for close to 30 min so what food they did get correct was getting cold!! So after the manager finally gets on the phone he begins to tell her that all the steaks are the exact same just different names and this wasn't one of the main issue. One of the steaks was supposed to have shrimp on top of it and there was no shrimp! Anyway my complaint isn't about which foods they got wrong or what was missing it was how the manager ( a man) started yelling at a female which I could hear from across the room and I will not stand for anyone talking to my wife like that. So I got up and went and grabbed the phone away from her and said hey and he couldn't hear me because he was still yelling at a female he thought! Finally I had to yell and tell him to shut up! So then he thinks he's gonna try and yell at me, which he failed and ended up hanging up! So we try to contact the store to get a district manager number, name or contact just to be hung up on. Every time we tried to call back once we said the first word they would hang up! Very unprofessional business and I will never do business with them again if that's the type of people they hire to run the business! I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there especially any females!! So tomorrow we'll see if Corporate handles it properly! I just wish I could have recorded how this guy talked to a female for something that was 100% their fault! The food was cold and the food took 40 minutes to get to our table when all we got was appetizers, there was maybe 4 tables total in the entire restaurant. The only server I like is Lauren. Her service is always a 10/10 and I ask for her every time but she was not here today. Every time I have not had Lauren as a server I've been disappointed with the service. I get why the low rating. Though not as slow as a nearby similar chain, the wait service is especially inattentive. First, no flatware, no napkins. Then the appetizers arrive, and we have to ask for small plates, we are sharing. The onion rings were cooked straight from their frozen state. The chips were extra salty, yet they did not run out before the packaged spinach (hint of artichoke) dip. Then the three of us seek out someone to ask for more water, and one glass comes, mostly ice. The entrees which were ready several hours before we ordered, left everything to be desired. The penne had a strange pasty doughy character. The chicken had a slight curl from the re-warming tray. The riblets really need some help. I need not carry on. I am certain that the promotional ads on TV bear no resemblance to the food as presented to the customer. Of course, this reflects the plight of most standardized commercial restaurant chain that come to the provinces and cannot incorporate the local cuisine (if Kentucky has one). The worst is the inability to vary the beverage selection to match the local. No bourbon focus, and no local craft beer. Eat well, tip well (but not at Applebees). read more

This is you typical chain restaurant but the bar tender there ( Aleeah ) was amazing! I went there late at night when everything else was closed so they were very busy and our hostess warned us it would be a while which was fine I understand that but this bar tender she was hustling and took care of us feeding us drinks till our food showed up. Ok, so I will start with the one positive I have. One of my favorite salads ever is Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad and this Applebee's kept the streak alive with the consistency in taste. Unfortunately that is the only positive I have to share. We visited at approximately 1:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Upon entering, it did not appear to be too busy. We waited behind a few people who were already waiting. After approximately four minutes, they left. Then a few minutes later an employee passed by and just happened to see us and asked if we had been seated. After we said no, she grabbed some menus and seated us. It was still another five minutes, at least, before our server arrived. Once she took our drink order, we waited approximately 7-8 minutes for our drinks. Then waited 12-14 minutes for our food and another 8-10 minutes for our check. It was if everything was moving in slow motion. This was not my first visit to a Applebee's, but my first time to this location. First off our group of 8 was seated very promptly due to the staff putting two tables together for us which we very much appreciated. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and well kept. The "extreme" unsteadiness of the table was kinda annoying. All the staff were very friendly and helpful when ordering. Prices were fair. We all ordered off the 2 for $20/25 except the two kids ordered off the kids menu. The 2 for deals came with an appetizer to share. The appetizers came out quickly once ordered. The food tasted great and everyone enjoyed their meal. Only shocking thing about the bill was the extra charges for the games on the new tablet/technology ordering system. Turns out the kids "accidentally" charged to the bill to play the games on them. I think the sever should/could have warned us about this feature and put so many of them on the table. Appetizer was missing artichoke dip; then came our meal. Steaks were over cooked; and we were not initially given steak knives. The server stated "sorry it's a shit show in here".
