Went on a Monday at approx 1:45. There were only 5 tables of people (two of which were both single seats). My parents & I were seated quickly & got our drinks quickly. We placed our orders & waited FOREVER (almost 30 min) to get the food. We were actually getting up to walk out when we saw our server. She never checked on us after dropping off the drinks. The restaurant was gross...tables were STICKY & the AC didnt work properly (there were fans everywhere to help cool the place). One star, only because I can't give them 0. First, the parking lot has basically no working lighting. Good luck. Second, sitting at the bar you should be more important than the football game on tv. Third, this is a bar/restaurant. You should be able to get a draft beer that doesn't taste like soap and you should be able to get glass of wine from their wine list. You should, but you would be wrong. Next, you would expect your French dip sandwich would be hot and your au jus not fresh from the fridge. At least the fries were hot. Oh well, at least the game was on so it didn't matter if the food and service sucked. Let me adjust your bill...not gonna happen. This was the first time ever I that I left no tip. When we arrived, the host forgot to mention that the AC unit was not working...and that it hadn't been working for 2 months. Table and seats were very sticky, but finding a server to actually take our order would have been a miracle. We left before ordering, and we will definitely not be going back. Our son wanted to do the all you can eat wings. I wasn't excited about going to Applebees, but decided that we would give it a try to make him happy. When we arrived there was a note that said the air conditioning wasn't working well. It wasn't horribly hot in there, but it wasn't cool either. Our server was nice enough, but you could tell the heat was getting to her. She ended up getting kinda snappy toward the end. She couldn't remember anything and we waited forever for everything. The all you can eat wings ended up being a joke. You had to beg, borrow and plead to get another plate with 5 wings on it... It took 15-20 minutes between plates. I know that heat was probably unbearable for our server, so I'll give her a break. However, management could've been helping out more. As far as the place itself. The parking lot was filthy. There were more cigarette butts in the parking lot than there were cars. Weeds were growing everywhere, a vomit soaked towel greeted us at the door. Now onto the food...Our quesadillas were undercooked, the cheese wasn't melted and the chicken was cold. The wings were no more than chicken nuggets. That's what you get when you get boneless though. I wasn't happy to see servers with their phones out when our server was running our credit card. I'm sure nothing bad was happening, but just the perception wasn't good. I see why all the low ratings here. Had company and ordered 2 orders of the Tacos , a burger for Husband and some extra fries. A tad over $40. The food was not the least but warm. Told you pick up in 15 minutes. We live like 3 minutes away. Husband was back really quick and we opened the food, handed some out. Myself and company got the Chicken Tacos. They were floating in all the thin coleslaw dressing on the tacos !! Teeny tiny pieces of chicken. Maybe 4-5 tiny pieces. LOADS of the kind of stale slaw and some lime wedges soaked in the dressing. You could barely pick the first one up it was so soggy. Forget about the other 3. Husband's burger was bland as can be. The fries, limp and cold ! We were all hungry as hell from yard work and just ate to eat something! The fries were tossed out by the bird feeder. The crows ate them very willingly. They loved them, but they love dead vermin too !! You cooks there should be ashamed to serve such garbage as expensive as your food is. It's a treat to most people to eat out. I called about it and was told "oh, sorry" and hung up on after going through a long annoying voice prompts a second time. First time to order. Been 4-5 years since we have eaten here. i went to applebee's on 02/25/24 @ 2:40p i ordered 120+ dollar of food applebee's and when i got home and open the bag all i had was a bag of dog food i brought a whole slab of ribs and it was so dry so old that you could not eat it it had no meat in it i have ordered several things of shrimps and it was so salty so little and rubbery and it was hiding under the mashed potatoes that was soupy shame on applebee's i call corporate office and talk to someone he said that he was going to give me a digital coupon or something never seen that he said someone will be getting in touch with me never heard from them since february 25th and today is march the 3rd still waiting on a call from applebee's do not go to applebee's waste of time waste of money very disappointed customer read more

Had the worst experience of my life tonight at Applebees on Coventry. Sat at the bar because that where I always sit. I always feel like i get the best service there, that was not the case tonight. Ordered food. Got it about 10min later. ate half my burger and started to eat the fries. I saw something in my fries and it was a long blonde hair. Showed the bartender and she asked me if I wanted the fries remade. I said no because I had lost my appetite. I wanted my burger though. I thought she was putting it back on another plate. 10min later I asked her where my burger had gone and I guess she threw it away because she thought I was done with it. She remade the burger and about 10min later she put a new one in front of me. I asked for the bill and some boxes because I was with my friend, who is a server. Got the bill. She took the burger off and then put it back on the bill. I was not having it. We tipped her and left. The bartender came out after us and yelled at me because apparently it was my hair and all the cooks are males. I preceded to tell her that I have short brown hair but she still yelled at me in the parking lot that it was my blonde hair. I called the manager and told him what happened and I also asked for her name. He gave me her name and also told me that I will be getting refunded. This place has gone down hill. Dirty beer lines that makes the beer taste different than it should. The last few times over a year that I have been here and the beer tasted bad. I stopped into this location. I was from out of town and kept dozing off behind the wheel. The entire staff from the kid that opened the front door to the bartender were superb and friendly. I order a Pepsi and the boneless wings and ate at the bar. The food was spot on and tasted great. The bartender even charged my phone for me while I are. She was great. Great experience. Will come back. Here Is the drawback: Drawbacks. I wish I had known that appetizers were half off if I had just waited for 15 minutes to order and the hallway leading to the bathroom and the bathroom itself smelled like a petting zoo. It seemed to just be an all the time smell not just a recent customers unfortunate intestinal woe. It truly smelled like a gas station bathroom. Definitely needs attention. Food was fine- nothing spectacular but we always appreciate Applebee's for their variety of food and friendly atmosphere. I was very taken aback this time and at this location however because 90% of the staff were wearing their masks below their noses! We have eaten out a dozen or so times in the 2 months since the state opened to inside dining and this place was by far the least careful to keep their customers safe and practice sanitary measures due to covid concerns. Also the staff were touching and pulling their masks up and down over their mouths and noses then touching our drinks, food etc as they served us. We realize we are taking a risk by dining out but I will not return here as long as there are other restaurants taking it more seriously. Management needs to be stricter with their employees. read more

Came On a Sunday afternoon. Pulled into the spacious parking lot that's well maintained. Very slow inside the building but I noticed how clean and tidy the place was. Even the staff was maintained nicely in their uniforms. Walked in and there wasn't a single person sitting at the bar rail so I sat down but noticed the bartender had five tables in the bar. So it took awhile before getting to me. After I sat down another guy sat down and she served him first, new him by name and his drink so I'm guessing he comes a lot. That's cool. Even after taking my drink order she was not in a hurry to make it. Upon ordering my second one it also took about 5'. It was obvious I wasn't her priority. Which is ok. I just want my beer. Speaking of beer.....I love coming here because their 28 ounce of PBR is $3.49. Great deal. I also order their $1 drink special of the month and of course it's weak but it was refreshing. Bar was clean and wiped down as well. I love their happy hour specials too. Super great deal. I don't normally come to this one but as far as a franchise the building was to be expected. I worked at this Applebee's for a short time while I was in college. It was kind of the worst. A server would work an 8 hour shift, 2 hours of which were waiting on tables while the other 6 hours were spent doing your end-of-shift side work. All y'all servers know what I'm talking about. The people I worked with were pretty cool though. They all liked watching Grey's Anatomy a lot. Like, they would have slumber parties with each other on nights that GA aired. I should have joined in those slumber parties. That sounds like fun. We could have had pillow fights while we fought over whether Dr Meridith Grey would get with Dr. McBigMac or Dr. Dreamtime. Of course, we could have talked about the exploits of Christina and her days at Stanford, George and his warmhearted ways, not to mention Izzie before she became the most hated woman in Hollywood. Good times. So, back to Applebea. She wasn't the most fun place to work. I did work there when Applegate hired Tyler Florence to be the main man. He brought the Quesadilla Burger up in that joint, so he gets a pass. He tried to pass arugula onto everything too, which should give him the opposite of a pass, which would be a non-pass. Did he actually have any say in this new menu he supposedly invented? Probably not, but Applebottom paid him a lot of money to parade around like a Food Network superstar, which he was! You've never heard of him? Me neither. I think he was the naked chef at some point. On my last visit to Applesneeze, Rob Schneider was my server which is as awesome as it sounds. Now, it was not the real Rob Schneider. The real Robby S was probably doing Adam Sandler's laundry at the time of my visit, but the man looked like Rob Schneider! It was the best! I kept hoping he would come over and say something like "Making copies! The J-Man, giving his order! Robby S going to get this order right!" Of course, I don't think our server knew he was Rob Schneider, which is a major disappointment. If the man would own it, he would probably make all the money. Overall, Applebee is exactly what one wants out of a chain restaurant. it doesn't do anything exceptional or terrible (except hire Rob Schneiders, which is both exceptional and terrible). I live nearby and this has been my go-to place for half price apps after 9pm. Their pretzels are awesome and the bone-in wings are a must (most of them are huuuuge). Also, I've never had a bad waiter. I personally request Josh only because he already knows what I wants and also takes the effort to remember where I work and actually asks how I am doing. Great place for a good meal if wings and fresh pretzels with beer-cheese are your thing. read more

Our waiter was a gem, given what he had to work with, so rest assured, we compensated him based on HIS awesome performance, not the restaurant. Having said that, right out of the gate we noticed how DIRTY the place seemed (I know I probably should have left at that point, but every other place had a lime out the door and kids were pretty hungry). We were seated, had to dust off the crumbs from the previous guests. Drinks arrive with 2 out of the 5 having "floaters" in them. Our food arrived 1 hour and 15 mins after being seated. Plates were dirty and had to be sent back and the food was less than desirable. Needless to say, we will not be back to this location. First off, I waited 45 minutes after the time I was told to pick the food up, and then my food was cold when I got it. Second off, there was one meal on my order that was correct when I got it. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Tender Salad with honey mustard and received a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. I ordered Italian dressing for my house salad and also no cucumbers, I received French dressing and cucumbers. I asked for silverware on website AND the women that brought my food to me for takeout silverware and she insisted that they were in the bag, I didn't get a single set of silverware. Went in on a Monday night at 5.30 for the $7.99 burgers. Sat for over 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging us at our table. Asked the hostess to get the Mgr for us. Someone walked by, (the Mgr?) asked if we had been waited on, without stopping at our table. When we told her no she replied "give me a sec". Server finally came over and offered lots of excuses but not really any apology. Food was ok but we didn't leave much of a tip. Too bad this place is so badly managed. I would just like to see a smile on my waiters face at the very least. She didn't even do that... We have always appreciated this restaurant for being very welcoming to late night dining hours. Some other restaurants will give you the stink eye if you come in after 9 pm. Here, they thrive in it.
