I've been eating at this restaurant for more than 35 years. This wasn't just another place to grab a meal--it was one of my favorite restaurants and a place I recommended to friends and family without hesitation. That's what makes its decline so frustrating to watch. For what feels like a year or so now, every problem is met with the same explanation: "Sorry, it's a new person in the kitchen." At some point, that excuse stops being believable. Constant turnover isn't bad luck--it's a sign that something is fundamentally wrong. The food quality has become wildly inconsistent. On my latest visit, the fries were so undercooked that some were essentially raw potatoes. The boneless wings were dry and overcooked to the point of being tough. The bone-in wings were questionable enough that I lost my appetite. The best word I can use to describe the meal is simply: ick. The servers deserve better. They work hard, stay professional, and often seem stuck apologizing for problems they didn't create. What concerns me most is the management. On multiple visits, I've watched the manager Josh speak down to employees in a way that no customer should be hearing and no employee should have to endure. I've seen staff members visibly upset and even reduced to tears. When customers can hear employees being talked down to, there is a leadership problem. The owner needs to pay attention. When employees leave, new kitchen staff constantly rotate through, customers hear the same excuses over and over, and food that was once consistently excellent becomes a gamble, the problem isn't the newest person in the kitchen. The problem is the culture being created by management. After 35+ years as a loyal customer, this is not a review I ever expected to write. What was once one of the most reliable restaurants in town now feels like a business surviving on its reputation while quality, morale, and standards continue to decline. This is my first trip to Buffalo Wings & Ribs. The facility is located in the Joan Plaza strip mall. Lots of parking and easy to find. The restaurant is large and could handle 8+ people sized groups pretty well. It's clean and orderly. Not a lot of appeal in the decor. The staff here was very friendly and really hustled to serve us. I really appreciated that our waitress pushed our kids meals to the front of the line. On this occasion I ordered plain bone-in wings with a dry rub. I was expecting wings that were slow cooked and smoked in a dry rub. BWR fries their wings and then rolls them in the rub. I found the wings to be small in size and not very meaty. None of my 10 wings approached meaty. The wing seemed to be over fried. The exterior was very crispy and seemed to pull a lot of the moisture out of the wing. The lemon pepper dry rub was very good. The rubs were very thick on the wing. You could easily pick to the lemon pepper flavor. Though it was almost overpowered by a salty taste. The Parmesan dry rub had a clear cheese flavor and wasn't as salty. I think I need to try their wet wings before I give a definite thumbs up or down. read more

We went on a Friday night. Pretty busy when we got there at 7pm- waited a half hour- but then half the tables were empty by 8:15. Nothing special about the decor. Can seat large parties. The table topss were clean but the booths and chairs were very sticky. Most people in our group ordered bone-in wings and they enjoyed them - tried one and they were ok. BUT, a couple of us got boneless wings. They were the worst we've ever had. They were completely rock hard all the way through. I understand having a crunchy coating, but these were beyond crunchy. They were like eating petrified cookies - you bite into it and have to crunch through the hardened, very little bits of chicken in the middle. This was not just one bad one, they all were. Was greeted by a very nice young lady who took us to a very spacious table for our 4 adults and 3 kids, instead of cramming us into a small booth. The sauces were great but were in no order in the menu, so you had no clue what level of hot you were getting. The boneless wings were 80% breading 15% chicken and 5% sauces, with the sauces carrying all the flavor. The Thursday special is paying $5 more for 16 wings than if you ordered 16 wings at $.80 a large fry and drink. 16 wings, fry and drink is $25, little steep considering the majority of what you are eating is fried flour. Great place for cold wings and awkward social situations. Terrible carry out experience. They told me it'd be ready in 15, I showed up on time, waited 40 mins. I'm pretty sure it was ready when they said it would and they just lost my name because my wings were totally cold when I got home. At least I got to watch customer after customer argue with the staff. Lost orders, lost names, long waits... you name it, they messed it up. If you have a craving for wings or ribs, this is the place to go. This place is like a staple in Fort Wayne and it has been around a long time. Going in it looks like a very plain atmosphere with tables and bench's with many TV's. They do serve beer and wine but it is limited. They were just regular mushrooms that tasted good. They look like they had probably been frozen before but they were still good. I ordered the ribs and wings combo dinner. Which was absolutely delicious. The wings I got medium garlic in the ribs I got their normal barbecue sauce. You can get dry rub for both which I've had and recommend too.The wings were just as good as always excellent. Now they do have other flavors that you can choose from and often they will split the flavors up for you. The one great thing about this place is you can choose between drums and flats and they don't have an issue faith it. I am a drum person and my husband is a flats person. So no fighting over wings! This time I just left it regular because we were kind of sharing. My husband got the ribs and chicken combo which the ribs were absolutely fall off the bone delicious and moist. The chicken it was just OK. Just kind of plain we just saved it and will probably use it to put in a salad later this week. Lol. Both of these plates head fries they are the real skinny kind of curly looking fries. My husband loves these fries however I am more of a thick fry girl. They were hot and fresh. Our plates also came with garlic bread which was ok. The atmosphere here is kind of loud so if you're going to come here this is where people bring their kids and family and they might want to watch a game so it is not gonna be quiet here. The service is very wonderful. I always see that they have the same waitresses so that tells me that it's a good place to work. They are very efficient, answers all your questions in very nice. The chips were over salted and the salsa was rather boring (maybe I except a little more having lived in California for so long now my standards of salsa have risen up a few notches). This review was written by my wife.Wing Quest - Week 4: It'd been a good many years since we last lunched at Buffalo Wings & Ribs on W. Jefferson Blvd. in Fort Wayne so it was time to go back. As I recall from our first time there I was unimpressed with the less-than-crisp skin on the wings which left an unpleasant layer of fat on the meat. However, I'm very happy to report that is old history. The wings we had today were the meatiest found almost anywhere and the skin was done to a perfect crispness leaving the very moist and tender muscle tissue virtually free of fat. Each wing was evenly coated with our sauce choices, leaving an ample pool of sauce at the bottoms of the baskets for extra dipping. If you love wings, and can't get enough, this establishment may just be the place for you! Wings can be ordered bone-in or boneless in increments of 10, 16, 25, 50, 75, or 100 with prices starting at $14.99 for 10 and going to $124.99 for 100 bone-in wings. (Boneless wings are $12.59 - $96.99.) Customers can also add 6 wings to any menu item for $9.59. There are twelve sauces to choose from including Mild or Mild Garlic, Medium or Med. Garlic, Hot or Hot Garlic, X-Hot or X-Hot Garlic, Suicide, or Suicide Garlic, Cajun Inferno, BBQ, Honey BBQ, Mesquite BBQ, Hot BBQ, Teriyaki, and Shanghai Red. We found the most complex flavors with the best blast of spiciness to be in the Cajun Inferno. It's bouquet of Cajun seasoning reaches one's olfactory senses prior to it's earthy, thick heat meeting the lips. I ordered 50 wings, extra wet (which is extra) with blue cheese, 2 buffalo wraps with blue cheese, and an extra large blue cheese. This order was over $70! It's an easy place to come with a larger group of friends and pull some tables together. Their wings - I don't even know how to describe them. Just down right amazing. Note: their mild is a butter sauce. I usually go for the medium and hot. The sauce is think and extra delicious when dipped in their bleu cheese dressing. Which I think they may make in house. OK the only other review on here is incorrect - the picture the guy submitted is from Buffalo WILD WINGS - whole different place. I can understand a low review for that joint, but NOT this one! The wings here are EXCELLENT! We're regulars and get the lunch special which comes with a TON of curly fries and a drink. I get boneless wings in Hot Barbecue, which is SUCH a great sauce, but my Fiance gets the terriyaki or the cajun inferno (HOT!). Joy is the best waitress there and we just love it. I've tried to make these boneless wings at home and was successful and let me tell you - they are a TON of work. Completely worth the $9 for the lunch special. Love it! read more
