Horrible service. There was a woman who was skipped in line in front of us. When we were seated almost 40 minutes past our scheduled reservation time, our drinks and entrees took a while longer than normal and mine was cold. Ordered the bourbon street chicken and shrimp, order did not have the shrimp at all. Ordered a kids hamburger and didn't even receive it. Car side to go service is awful. My boyfriend and I have tried to visit the Applebee's in Goshen more than a few times with terrible luck each time. We went with some friends who chose this for their birthday dinner and it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Penne and it looked & tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. It took forever to get our food too. I have never had good service at this location. One time we were the only 2 people at the bar and waited and waited for the bartender to take our credit card after we told her we were ready to go. A manager then walked out from the kitchen and my boyfriend asked if he could pay the bill to him and he said yes. He started to tell him how long we had waited but was cut off rudely. After he ran the card he gave it back and my boyfriend said "thank you". The manager said "yep". Having a background in customer service, this made me angry. He should've been thanking us for dining in his restaurant and should've at least apologized for how long we had to wait. We won't be back to this location and I can see why Elkhart shut down if it's anywhere near as bad as this one. read more

This place is horrible...the last 5 times I have been to Applebee's they have messed up my food or my families food. I have given them way too many chances and will never go back. I hate I had to give a rating of one star because it's not even worth one star in my eyes. read more

Horrible service! The lady was telling an elderly couple how their request was ridiculous and how she has been in the industry for so many years and just putting them down. My dad had to go get my daughters ketchup because after asking so many times and the rest of us being done eating we had to get a move on. She focused on one table and neglected the other ones due to judging the book by the cover for tips. I've been in the industry for 20 years myself and make sure that my tipping is very generous. With her talking so long to her special table our food came out cold and the plates were hot and my daughter burnt her hand. My moms steak that was supposed to be medium came out well because of the heat lamp because the steak itself was cold. I am pregnant and hypoglycemic and my father asked after 20 minutes after putting our order in if my salad would be up soon and her response was "it'll be up when it's up" real snippy with an attitude. My daughter ordered a smoothie and that is not included with a kids meal so she ordered a milkshake with her meal. When we were done eating I had asked if we could get her milkshake to go then and she looked at me like I was stupid and said "so another chocolate milk?" And I politely said no that's her smoothie. She never got her chocolate milk. We were never offered dessert and just given our bill. The worst part is that my parents were in town from Arizona for my daughters birthday and we spent $90 on a horrible experience. We will not being going back thanks to Debra W. read more

Applebee's is the worst, but grandma loves it. Our meal was awful. I ordered an appetizer as my meal and it came out first as an appetizer. 25 minutes later Zach asks if we want dessert. Their entrees hadn't even come out yet. Apparently there was a "glitch" in the system and the order was never put in, unapologetically he put the rest of the order in. They didn't take anything off the bill for the horrible experience or even offer us a free dessert. Zach sucks and so does Applebee's, I won't be back with grandma. read more

Not only do they have horrible service, but their carside-to-go has never been a good experience. We are ALWAYS missing food, get treated like crap after waiting literally between 30min-1hr after our food has been done. I'm never returning and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Can this place be saved? I dont know if it can. I have given this place numerous chances and have been left with nothing but disapointment. The last time I was there was just for drinks. Went to pay and waited for 10-15min with card out on the table. I then asked manager to take it after numerous attempts to get the bartender to take it. I still thanked the manager for taking my payment and the response was "yep". Really? You Mr. manager, should be thanking me and every patron that graces your establishment. Ugh. Horrible. horrible. horrible. We ordered the spinach and artichoke appetizer. When it came out the dip was cold and the chips were stale. When our food came out the french fries were old, and my boyfriends crunchy shrimp were wayyy overdone. I ordered another beer so I could have it with my dinner. I went there for a a beer and the Manager came in to the table and Asked who is driving, really? I haven' have my beer yet! Then She came to apologized because she had a rough nite! Service used to be good 4-5 years ago. Lately, the Goshen location has been getting worse. Now that I usually dine alone, I sit at the bar when I can. Sherrie, the bartender was so good and sharp, she got everything I needed, even with certain condiments on my burger. She has since moved on and the next visit to the bar I didn't even receive any silverware and napkins. But the bartender had horrific red hair, seriously. That was a pleasure to look at over dinner. I have to say that I get the feeling that service is not the primary focus of the workers (wait staff and food preparers). It seems that when you have someone else other than the person taking your order bring the food to you, it invariably is not accurate and if you mention it to them, they locate the original wait person and have them bring it out to you. The situation we encountered was one of having ordered our food and requested to have mayonnaise for our sandwiches, it did not come out with the food and we could not get the attention of our wait person. We had finally gotten the attention of one person and after we explained to two other people what the situation was, it still took 10 minutes to get the mayonnaise. The manager on duty did come over and in fairness to him, he did offer to make it right the best he could and he did. The food is most enjoyable [(I would not suggest getting a steak from them) this is not a steak place], but one should keep in mind that you will spend more time eating at Applebees than you would at other more efficiently run restaurants. read more

One of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. Lousy service, worse food. I am a vegan and asked for a salad that was vegan..it came with cheese. Jermaine did an amazing job as our server. I have absolutely no complaints about him. However, I asked Jermaine if they had comment cards because I wanted to comment about all of the visible tattoos on the servers' arms, hands, necks and one of female servers had cleavage exposed making a chest tattoo visible. I myself have a full sleeve tattoo but do not feel it is professional for servers in what is suppose to be a family friendly environment to have tattoos exposed all over their bodies like that. A majority of the servers even had long sleeves on. There is no reason why these servers cannot have their long sleeves rolled down covering up their ink. Jermaine was polite and requested the manager's attention for me. The kitchen manager was the only one available at the time and he came to our table and politely greeted myself and my boyfriend. I was not rude, I simply told him that it doesn't make it feel like a family friendly atmosphere with the staff walking around with tattoos exposed all over their bodies when there are uniforms capable of covering them. The manager said it's company policy that tattoo exposure is acceptable. He wasn't rude by any means but seconds later, after he went back to them he kitchen, numerous servers came out of the kitchen rolling their eyes and shooting glares at myself and my boyfriend. I was at a high top in the bar area and overheard the bartender make a comment about people complaining about servers and tattoos. She then proceeded to refer to me as a bitch and when I heard that and looked over at her, she shot me a nasty look and rolled her eyes and then looked away. My boyfriend took a hit off of his vape and this same bartender (we later found out her name was Jess) snapped at him from behind the bar across the room saying "Um sir those aren't allowed in here." She had a VERY condescending tone and my boyfriend asked if this policy was posted anywhere Jess proceeded to look at another server standing next to her and loudly ask her, "Isn't it company policy that those aren't allowed?" At this point, Jess had most of the restaurant starring at her irate antics and verbal abuse of a customer. I told her she wasn't being very professional and she shot another dirty look at us and walked off off to the back. The kitchen manager clearly did not display a professional stature by informing the entire staff that a customer commented on all of the tattoos and then allowed them to all walk around with poor customer service skills and allowed the bartender to become irate and confrontational. If the vaping isn't allowed, the professional thing to do is to politely approach our table and let us know. There was absolutely no need for her to shout it from across the room to us also allowing the rest of the restaurant to be interrupted by her. I am BEYOND angry and displeased with my experience at this restaurant. I've had MUCH better service from McDonald's restaurants! I will NEVER return to this particular Applebee's. read more

My husband and I ate there on Saturday. Within hours he became very ill. Diarrhea and throwing up and he did this all night. It was very dark in the restaurant so we could not even see our food or the table that well. Makes me wonder what they are hiding. He had steak and I had chicken. Will probably not eat there again.
