I wanted to update my previous review from years ago. Ever since Applebees launched the "trios" it has been much more enjoyable to go. Unfortunately I think the only thing Applebees does right are the appetizers and you get 3 samples of them and 3 dips for $14.99. All of the appetizers are consistently good with no issues, and the staff here are very nice and friendly. The entrees have never been good; and whatever you do, do NOT try the steak. Their drinks always seem fun, but each one I have tried over the years has just been sugar with no real alcohol kick to it. I'm a little sad too because my favorite beer/cider (Angry Orchard) is being discontinued at Applebees... so the drinks aren't going to work out anymore for me personally. So all in all I recommend the trios and a beer for a quick and nice/consistent meal! read more

I typically ask my alumni to try and find a place for us to eat that isn't fast food or a chain, however this most recent alumni suggested Applebees and I caved and said ok! The staff was very friendly! I enjoyed my lemonade, French onion soup and won ton tacos! I was also impressed with the 2 for 25 deal, and I thought it was appetizer and entree, but it was appetizer and two entrees! That's a heck of a deal! read more

Well I ordered Bourbon street chicken and shrimp and it came out without any sauce. The waitress after pointing her finger within a couple inches of the chicken insisted the sauce was underneath the chicken. There was no sauce. It was plain. So I asked for some bourbon chicken sauce and she said garlic butter and brought out garlic butter. I wasn't sure what to think as the meal became a whole new entree with garlic butter. The chicken was cooked good but missing the sauce. I'm not one to complain so I rarely say anything. I doubt we come back to this location. read more

During the 2025 extended xmas break snow days my niece ordered food and I picked it up. The service was quick and convenient. I appreciate how fast they got to me and her food was ready when they said it would be. There were people eating inside and it didn't seem like the workers were put off by the weather. I have had take out orders several times always ordering the ribs BUT the take out ribs I got there Sunday Dec 28th were a big disappointment to me...The sauce I ordered was honey bbq and it was good BUT the rub on the ribs themselves was extremely spicy/hot and I could not eat them...I washed the sauce off thinking that would help BUT it did not it was still inedible for me ...so glad my husband also ordered the combo appetizer so I could eat something FYI he spent $65 on the take out ... read more

I went in and ordered a beer and 2 small appetizers. (7435 E Washinton St.) After waiting for 33 minutes, I decide to leave. People who came in after me were getting their orders, no one came around and ask how I was doing or if everything was ok. After I told the bartender (I was sitting at the bar) I needed my check, she then went back and checked for my food. I asked her why they had not been able to get my food out to me, she said the kitchen was bumping orders in front of mine. Pretty disappointing, not sure what's happening at this place but it needs some type of adult supervision. neg-ZERO STARS: Do not patronize this location W. 86th st. Indy location AT ALL! Ms. Rhonda is very ineffective, and incredibly unprofessional, along with the ENTIRE staff! The lack of service and outright lying and dismissiveness from the servers was just offensive. Our 45 min. experience there was 20 minutes spent waiting to be seated in a virtually empty restaurant where most tables had not be cleaned. Once we were seated the lying server, Jonathan said that he was going to take good care of us (because we were about to leave) and never took our beverage order or provided tableware. He simply disappeared. After another 20-25 min., we got up and left. God only knows how long the food would have taken, if we had ordered, or how it would have been prepared. Ms. Rhonda who had been at the bar doing nothing but talking the entire time (there was only one customer there), saw us walk out and never said a word to keep us as customers or apologize. It was the most absolute HORRIBLE experience me and the family have EVER had. In fact, it became an even more angering experience because I was with senior citizens and the overall staff attitude was very, very, very DISRESPECTFUL. Seriously unbelievable. Such a bad experience. My family decided to come here to try their all you can eat $14.99 special. It took awhile to get seated which was expected due to the special. I have a 3 year old and 1 yr old. Asked for high chairs several times after being seated. Never got one until I noticed a family with a high chair leaving and asked could I have that chair. They moved use to the bigger section were the high chair was after being cleaned because I had a party of 5. Which was appreciated. We were given a new server that was her 3rd day there so, she literally had to go to the back for each and every question we had. She was definitely not ready for the floor. So I guess they forgot to change the seating and gave our food to the other table. We had to wait another 45 minutes for food. When we finally got the food we had no silverware, so waited another 10 minutes to eat. I end up getting Salmon that was the saltiest piece of fish I've ever ate in my life. The Caesar salad looked old. The all you can eat shrimp was good. But that's about it. The manager came out and tried to fix it which she kinda did. By offering a dessert ( CinnaBon cinnamon rolls) that unfortunately was not done. As we waited for dessert and "all you can eat " refills. She stated that they were not put in. Oh Applebee's, sometimes your better than others and this wasn't one of those times. This location is always particularly busy when we come here. My sister loves their boneless chicken wings, so here we are. We arrived and were advised there was a 20 minute wait. Observing that there were many open tables throughout the restaurant. While we were waiting there was a waitress that we observed running around griping about something repeatedly. After 30 plus minutes we were finally seated. The hostess walked us through the bar area and around to the seating area. I only point that out as my sister is under age. Our waiter was very polite and professional but obviously running around like chicken with it's head cut off. He came over to great us and let us know that he would be right back. He came to take our drink order and we asked to place our food order at the same time to help expedite things. Our salads came out quickly and were good and fresh, then our wings came out and were a tad bit over done and swimming in sauce but by this time we were hungry and made due. We both ordered the chicken and pasta dish which was tasty and well prepared. I just want to start with saying my friends and I frequently come to this establishment, however today we had an awful experience. Since we came in we were greeted poorly, after explaining to the host we had a large group (8) she said we had to have two separate tables due to policies of the restaurant. We asked if we could move to the larger booth in the corner of the restaurant which we did but one person was still left out and tried to add an extra chair on the side of the booth which were told it was NOT okay to put it there. So we had to move the 3rd time and this time it was at the bar, we had to high tops which the server herself try to put it together. After a few minutes the "manager" came out to tell us the tables at the bar were too closed together and that the "GM" was going crazy over it as they was looking through the cameras. At this point we had already ordered our drinks, but as we was celebrating my friend's birthday its was a bummer to not be able to sit together. The server was really sweet and apologized, but unfortunately we had to get up and leave, the manager didn't even try to help out over the situation, neither the GM could show up. From now on we will NOT be visiting, they've lost some loyal customers over such a small disagreement that could've been solved in a different way. We went during their promotional all you can eat ribs and chicken strips, it was pretty good. It's nice that you can switch between ordering ribs or chicken. The ribs do have lots of small bones which are tiring to eat around. The service was great, our server was quick to refill our ribs/chicken as well as our drinks. You definitely need to eat a LOT to feel like you got your money's worth, I was full after an order and a half of food. The first plate is a fairly regular sized order (2 slabs of ribs or 5/6 chicken strips) after that the portions get smaller. It's a pretty good deal if you can eat more than 2 orders. read more

Tried the Monday night burger special and the long island drink special. The long island was ok, The burger we received was not the burger we ordered, but too much time passed without being checked on, so we ate it. The burger was pretty good, and it came with fries. We sat at the bar. Our server was very nice but maybe a little lax in her level of attentiveness. When we told her about the burger, she apologized but made no other effort beyond that. Wouldn't recommend. I tried placing a ubereats order at 10:15. Waited for it to be fullfilled and it was canceled due to the full slab being out of stock? Called the location the said no we have plenty, try grub hub. So I ordered at 10:30 from grubhub. Got several updates when the order would be delivered and who would be bringing it. So at 12:07 I call the location again because we never received our order. Get 3 people on the phone and all the sudden they say they just got the order and I get a message that the order was canceled. All I get is a sorry. I went here with 3 friends to get out of the house and try the $6 dollar Halloween drinks (we are all over 21). The drinks were very festive, and strong, and had cute spooky decorations/names. It was the waitress's first day working by herself and she did amazing. She was incredibly helpful when we didn't know what we wanted and refilled our waters often. They had several TVs, we will probably go back if there's a game we want to watch. There was a parking spot right in front of the door, so it was easy and stress-free. Pretty standard Applebee's fare. Located right off the interstate it was convenient for us to stop in for lunch during a recent road trip. My Dad had the Thai shrimp from the lighter fare menu and he enjoyed that. I got a sirloin that I had ordered medium rare, it was more medium well but it wasn't too tough so I just ate without saying anything. The server was attentive and kept the drinks full, and even offered to go cups. Overall a perfectly good lunch experience but not anything to write home about. read more

You had me at Oriental Chicken Salad.... but other than that dish, Applebee's is just OK. I used to love this Applebee's because it was easy to find something on the menu for all ages and picky eaters on a budget. Now, they took the good items off the 2 entrees + 1 appetizer =$20 menu. The ambiance is not great. It's pretty loud and unruly at this location at times and the service can be hit or miss. In the end I am addicted to the Oriental Chicken Salad, therefore I will always return as long as it is on the menu.
