I dined at this Applebee's a couple of days ago. I am not sure why, but the food at this location just did not meet the standards of your every day Applebee's. I ordered the exact same dish... The "margarita lime chicken and shrimp" which I had in York, Nebraska several weeks ago and absolutely loved it there. However, at this location it was nowhere near as good. It came out with no lime sauce/glaze and the chicken itself was simply not very flavorful and kind of dry. I actually had to ask for a side of the lime sauce which my waitress gladly retrieved for me. I thought it was unimaginable that a key component of that dish was somehow overlooked. One upside I suppose is that the restaurant seemed well-maintained, and my waitress was very helpful and friendly. However, I won't be dining at this particular Applebee's ever again. read more

I have eaten at their restaurants in many cities - both locations in Las Cruces, Colorado Springs, Denver and it's suburbs, Portland OR and it's suburbs, Puyallup WA and others and really - they're pretty much all the same. Kudos to the good standardization of quality should go to Applebees. Is this the best food I have eaten? Not by any stretch of the imagination, but still, a safe bet when out of town or not feeling the desire to experiment on a restaurant with uneven or unknown quality. read more

My experience here was beyond unpleasant. When the food was brought to the table everything appeared fine. However, my meat was so over cooked that it was hard. In addition to that, there was a sealed wet wipe ( meant for cleaning my fingers) under my meat on the plate which I do not think is sanitary. I asked for the manager to come to the table. When he came he immediately started to apologize as if he was reading a script without even asking me, as the customer, what I thought the issue was. This didn't make me feel that the situation was sincerely being taking into account. This has not been my first negative experience at an Applebee's. Went to eat and have a drink at my local Applebee's and when I asked what there specials were the waiter said they had $2 Bluemoons. So I asked him to bring us 2. Shortly after he said they no longer had that special and they were double the price. Already starting off bad but we ordered them anyway. As we where waiting for our food I noticed on all their 16 TV's they we're advertising $2 Bahama Mama's. So I asked the waiter why he didn't mention this special. He said that it was wrong and they are not offering this special. This to me anyway seemed to be false advertising. Why even put the graphic on the TV if you are not going to honor the special. Had a pretty good lunch here today. The all-you-can-eat riblets were tasty and fall apart tender. Tried spicy and honey bbq. Very similar tasting but delicious. 1.0 star rating 7/7/2018 The manager of this Applebees is a cruel person towards the birds nearby. Applebees is supposed to be a "neighborhood friendly'' bar and grill. While I was eating I observed the manager yell at a senior woman feeding the birds at a little park at the end of a parking lot. Taking pictures of her and calling the police because she was giving water and food to the birds. The birds are protected animals like roadrunners and doves. Corporate office was informed of the hostile behavior towards the birds and has done nothing about it. Applebees is the only business in the area that takes the water away. There are two other businesses and they are not cruel to the birds. The manager even told employees to be mean to the birds. I hope this is one of the locations that they will close. read more

Worst mixed drinks. I would keep to beer if I was you. I always order two drinks every time I go to restaurant and I have never had ones this bad. I never send drinks or food back. Just ate at Applebee's on Lohman and had a really poor experience. The staff was inatentive and extremely slow even though they were not all that bust. Food came out and the waitress never bothered to check in on us afterwards. Had to stop the manger just to get a refill on my ice tea. We were seated in an area where there was food ALL OVER the floor (was there a food fight?) and 4 of the tables were filthy with plates, food, etc. from previous Customers and stayed that way well into after our food arrived. I generally dislike these sit down chains, but it WAS the least of the evil choices late last night in Las Cruces. We just got buffalo chicken strips and a chicken Caesar salad to go. The food was hot and decent, but not memorable. The only thing of note was the ridiculous quantity of the dressings (blue cheese and ranch) that came. Each of the containers was probably 20 servings worth. If I wasn't traveling, I would have kept them and had enough salad dressing for months! For our 32nd wedding anniversary, we were looking for a reasonably priced place so we could enjoy time away from home. We decided to give Applebee's here in Las Cruces instead of some of the higher costing restaurants in the area. I read all the reviews prior to our arrival and with all honestly, was extremely skeptical of going here, but on a set income (we're older clientele) we decided to give it a try anyways. Our waitress, Taylor M. was above what we expected. She took our drink orders, offered appetizer choices, and despite it being a Saturday early evening, it was not very busy. Our drinks arrived within a very reasonable time period and we ordered our meals (2 for $26 but 8oz instead of 6 oz steaks, a house salad and our two preferred sides). After we received our salads within a period of roughly 10 minutes, our order came. Steak was perfectly cooked, sides were excellent, salad was excellent, she refilled our drinks as needed and often. I must say after being severely skeptical about the place, I was pleasantly pleased as well as my wife. The atmosphere was perfect, we did not feel rushed, our waitress was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful experience and folks, please remember, as a very experienced former food service supervisor, don't always believe the reviews, (people write bad reviews sometimes due to a personal grudge they may have or they wanna take out their bad day/evening on a restaurant) go and check the place out for yourself. I am going to rate this place 5 stars because, although I am from Orlando area, I can appreciate that the place has regulars. It has many of them. Lots of friends meeting up at the bar. I was here on business and stopped in and was very impressed with the amount of regulars here. That doesn't happen unless they are being taken care of. My service was great as well. No issues at all. Congrats to the bartenders and management for creating an environment for locals to come and meet up with their friends.
