I haven't been to this location in sometime. Last night I went and I regretted my decision. Our waitress of which I forgot her name was nice and courteous and attended to us as best as she could however, we ordered drinks a couple of beers and it took more than 20 minutes to get those beverages. The waitress was very apologetic and she went to go check on the order and the bartender was seen just talking to customers and other employees and she would get back to work and we still never got our beers until after last call which sucked. The young manager with the man bun should've been helping the bartender out instead of just standing there. I don't recommend this place one bit. read more

Subpar food and terrible overall service. Started when we were getting seated. The young man dropped our silverware to the floor and just picked it up and placed on the table. The waitress was friendly though. The appetizers are definitely not what they used to be. They had just opened, so not busy at all. Wings were barely coated with sauce, the onion/pickle 'fries' were over done and crisped all the flavor out to where you just tasted the fried batter. The marinara sauce was a watered down tomato sauce. Their second attempt was the same with a couple chunks of tomatoes. Their third attempt was a to go container, which I left there, as once I checked it was still watered down. Zero flavor marinara makes for a very disappointing experience when dunking a cheese stick. At least the spinach artichoke dip was still good. I had not been to a Applebee's is ages and thought I would give them a try again. Super disappointing and as a frequent dining out person, this is at the top of my NOT to go back to places, unfortunately. read more

We only ordered from here because there was a promotion for a free plate of 20 boneless wings with a $40+ online order (the promotion has ended). Since there were three of us we figured we could order a bunch of items to share. Most of the food was a disappointment. The boneless wings were messed up because we ordered the garlic parmesan version and what we received was plain wings with a clump of dried out parmesan shavings. Most of the chicken pieces were really small and we received more than a handful of fried batter clumps. We asked for the blue cheese dressing for the dipping sauce and it had a weird lemony aftertaste. 20 wings are normally $25 which should be more than enough incentive to avoid them if you're paying full price. The Neighborhood Burger was ok for $13 but the fries that came with it were underwhelming. Most of them were little nubs as if we were given the irregular leftovers from the batch. There isn't an option to add a dipping sauce to the item order so we used the blue cheese from the boneless wings. You can add a dipping sauce from a separate section on the online menu but only "Tangy Bacon" is available and nothing else. We don't know if this is an issue with how the website is setup or if the restaurant genuinely doesn't let you have sauce outside of select items from the menu. The Four-Cheese Mac & Cheese with the Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders was...interesting. The three pieces of chicken were tender and had a good flavor but the pasta was a soggy mess. The penne they used was overcooked and it seemed like they poured extra watery alfredo sauce over everything. We couldn't identify any cheese in this "mac & cheese." This wasn't worth the $15.50 price tag. Our biggest regret was getting the Quesadilla Chicken Salad. It is the most expensive salad on the menu at $16 and the quesadilla was mostly filled with pico de gallo. There was barely enough cheese to keep the tortilla closed. The chicken was dry and chewy. One member of our group started with the salad and then noted that they had an upset stomach a little while later, before they had any of the other food. The rest of us waited until we tried the rest of the food before we went for the salad, and then I had an upset stomach after eating a portion of the salad. It wasn't the worst deal to feed three people for under $50 considering how much food we received, but we've had a lot better at casual dining restaurants. Very slow and poor service. My wife and I went for the 2 for $25 special...terrible. server forgot the appetizer that was part of the deal. When the food finally arrived it was not as good as previous visits. My wife's chicken parmesan was very bland and my oriental salad tasted off. I just cannot understand why so many people disparage the dining experience at Applebee's. Sure it's a national chain...get over it! My dining experience today was very pleasant and the food was good. The restaurant was very clean and well run. The waiter and hostess were efficient and very pleasant. There were many large, comfortable booths available. The music was not god-awful loud like in so many places. The menu was well rounded and prices very reasonable. There were many big screen tvs around but Applebee's had more of a restaurant feel than a sports bar feel. My lunch was on the table within twelve minutes of ordering. The double patty Neighborhood Burger was very good. A brioche bun was heated on the grill, the two meat patties were well seasoned and the meat tasty. Cheese, lettuce, pickles, and a garlic mayo sauce rounded it off. While not a spectacular burger this was a very tasty burger. Rate it a "B+." The fries were not greasy but not crispy either. But, they did have a nice potato flavor. Rate them a "B." For the overall dining experience I am rating it today Four Stars...meaning pretty good. Would certainly return. read more

The host was completely rude upon arriving, seating our party of 5 at a table way too small when there were plenty of booths open and we requested a larger table. We did end up moving and our server was not much better. She forgot one of our drinks, left out the Shirley to a Shirley temple, and our food came out before beer. Don't do it! They served this to a 12 year old. My chicken was uncooked too and the shrimp Alfredo was cold. Anyone who has eaten at an Applebees is familiar with the food items and drink menu. The food is consistently good, and the drink quality depends on the bartender behind the bar. Our visit was no different than other times that we went to other Applebees restaurants around the country. Mike was our waiter, and he gave us outstanding entree recommendations, since it had been a while since our last Applebees visit. We also appreciated when the manager stopped by our table to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. The 2 for $25 deal worked well for us, mainly because we practically receive the appetizer for free. If you want a decent meal for a reasonable price, this Applebees is worth a look. read more

(call us Kathie Lee and Hoda) Some places mix a light drink early in the day and it can be disappointing when your day starts at 2 a.m. and this is your after work cocktail hour. Second review, but my rating stays the same. My family and I went on a Sunday night, so I expected the restaurant to be a little busier than usual, but the hostess walked by us twice without greeting us or telling us she'd be with us in a minute. When she did take our name and I asked how long the wait was, she said,"the restaurant is totally full so I don't know." And just walked away. Our waitress was really nice, if a little forgetful. She didn't bring napkins, or silverware. I had to keep asking for things. Our food was good, pretty standard for Applebee's. My husband's fish n chips was by far the best dish...really really good. Not too oily with big pieces of fish. All in all a good meal, but not amazing. read more

Been going here after work and with friends for a while since they're open late and usually the food is decent. However my last few visits service has definitely been lacking. Servers will either ignore us completely or rush to get us out of there. Also the last few times I've gone I either didn't get my drink until after my food came out or didn't get it at all since the bartender kept stepping away from the bar and I ended up having to track down our server so I could at least get water. The floors were dirty, food, trash & silverware on the floor under some tables from who knows how long ago. My husband did say the restroom is clean, he also said the host used the restroom & didn't wash his hands....did his business & went right back to man his post at the entrance. It's a Friday night & the atmosphere might as well be a trashy sports bar. Obnoxious, loud mouth guy at the bar shouting & doing whatever he wants. I guess they are trying to give you the optical illusion of if small portion is served in a big plate than it's a big portion!? It also took about 15 mins for them to bring the bill up when there were only 2 tables in this particular section. If someone I could give them a negative rating, they'd get about a negative 10. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, let me repeat, the WORST. I completely lost appetite within the first 20 mins. don't judge a book by its cover, but then there isn't much to judge if there is not much. The only thing that was great about our visit happened to be we were with family. Right from the start ask for waters with lemon you guessed it we got lime, all the fries were cold potatoes cold. Asked for medium steak got well done actually ask for butter for my cold potatoes and can you believe the waitress brought out cold butter so I had to ask to have the butter melted to warm up my potatoes ( jk it didn't work) didn't get my shrimp until we were all ready to go plus side they comped the shrimp. When we ask about the shrimp we were told it's because the shrimp take four minutes to cook someone really needs to tell the cook if you put all twelve shrimp in at the same time they cook faster. read more

First and last time in Applebee's. Bill was really weird. When the item prices on the bill didn't match the prices on the menu a server said that was because "each item had the taxes added on" a unique practice anywhere in the world we have been (126 countries and most of the US.). Our entrees were $14.99 & 13.99 but both entrees were charged as $16.24?? The bill turned out to be about $10 more than the menu prices. Hard to recommend a place that blatantly overcharges the customer and when caught gives a weird nonsensical explanation.. In addition the service was terrible, even though in late afternoon there were only 3 tables occupied! Unfortunately this one place gives all Applebees a bad name which they may not deserve. But we will have a difficult time going to one where we live. read more

1 star for being one of the only places to eat out late night on a Sunday in Las Cruces, NM. Some other sit-down alternatives: the well known establishment that serves pancakes under a blue roof or that place that rhymes with "Jennys" or the local Village Inn. Their food was always blah to me. You never want to order Fettucini Alfredo topped with shrimp and have it come to your table cold...yuck. The saucy had a chunky/watery texture...not creamy. On my last visit they got one of our orders wrong (and it wasn't busy) and tried to convince my friend that it was exactly what he ordered. We had to send back a set of dirty appetizer dishes that had caked on cheese. If you come here as a last resort for someplace to hang out other than a bar (on a Sunday after 10:30pm in Las Cruces, NM), I would recommend items that they can't mess up like dessert or a shake or a drink. read more

Came late at night with a coworker and we got the 2 for $22 with the chicken Alfredo and chicken tenders,the appetizer we got the mozzarella sticks and they were good. The pasta was very delicious and the chicken tenders very delicious and crispy. We got some two dollar margaritas while we waited for our food, they come with twizzlers for straws. I can't remember the waiters name but he was very attentive and super nice. Checked on us at the right times and even brought us another margarita before we finished the first cup. Came here with a couple friends for appetizers and drinks one evening. We were seated quickly. My companions didn't want to sit in the bar area where I could've watched college football (dammit). Food was about what you would expect. It's really difficult to goof-up deep fried appetizers. Our server, Mike S, was terrific! He was attentive, fun, and definitely knew what he was doing.
