To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally complain about an incident that occurred at your Outback Steakhouse location. During my visit, I asked a server if they could assist me by scanning a QR code that I needed for my workplace attendance system. The QR code was displayed on my own phone, so I was unable to scan it myself. I showed the server the information on my phone and explained that I needed to scan the code so I could re-enter a timesheet and make sure I was properly paid for my work. My workplace is approximately an hour and a half away from the restaurant. I explained that if I was unable to complete this process at the restaurant, I would have to make a separate trip to my workplace simply to scan the QR code. I also explained that I would much rather use that money to leave a tip for the server if they were willing to assist me. The manager then approached me and questioned why I had asked someone for their personal phone, despite the fact that I had already explained that I was asking for assistance with my workplace attendance system. I explained the situation to him again and told him that I understood the concern. I also told him that I would not ask anyone again and put my phone away. Despite this, the manager continued to stand around me and question me for approximately five minutes. At that point, I told him that I had already explained the situation, that I was no longer going to ask anyone to assist me, and that I wanted him to stop questioning me. Rather than allowing the situation to end, the manager became upset and told me to leave the restaurant. I found the entire interaction extremely unnecessary and inappropriate. I was not attempting to obtain anyone's personal information, harass an employee, or cause a disturbance. I was simply trying to complete a legitimate work-related task involving a QR code that I could not scan from my own phone. Once the manager expressed his concern, I immediately agreed not to ask anyone again and put my phone away. I am especially concerned that, after I complied with his request, the manager continued questioning me and ultimately removed me from the restaurant when I asked him to stop. I am requesting that Outback Steakhouse review this incident, including the conduct of the manager involved, and determine whether the situation was handled appropriately. I would also appreciate a response regarding the outcome of your review. I understand that restaurants have policies designed to protect employees and customers, and I am willing to respect those policies. However, I believe customers should also be treated respectfully, particularly when they have already explained their intentions and complied with a manager's request. We went for an early lunch before the Valentine's Day rush. Everything was exceptional. I decided to try some new items. The margarita was amazing! Steak sandwich was so flavorful. Loved the caramelized onions. He got the steak which he enjoyed. We got wings for us to share. We had so much food to take home. Las nights recent visit to Outback Steakhouse was disappointing from the start. When we sat down, the appetizer plates we were given were dirty--they had visible residue on them, so we put those to the side and didn't use those. My daughter's meal arrived next, and there was some type of white cream (maybe sour cream?) stuck to the bottom of the ketchup container that was placed directly on her food. Her plate also had a sticky substance on it, which was really concerning. We asked the server for a new plate, and she apologized and quickly brought a replacement. I ordered a steak and ribs, and after only a few bites, I found a hair in my food in which I pulled out of my mouth! I'm not sure whether it came from the steak itself or the onions, but either way, it was extremely off-putting. When I showed the server, she apologized again and said she would get her manager. A few minutes later she returned and told me the manager had removed my entrée from the bill--but the manager never came to the table. Honestly, while the hair in the food, and the dirty plates were upsetting, I understand that mistakes happen. What bothered me more was the manager's decision not to come speak with us directly. It shouldn't fall on the server to absorb an upset customer when it would've taken the manager just a moment to come address the issue personally. This place is very good, especially there new york strip and the mushrooms in hot butter are to die for, they come in a metal dish that's so hot you have to wait for them to cool down before you can eat them, there so good you will want another batch to eat, and the waiters are super good, it's a little expensive but well worth it for us !!! read more

It's Friday night and I just finished a great dinner at the Outback. Over the years this restaurant has had its ups and downs, but tonight they really stepped up their game. The restaurant tonight was orderly and fairly quiet...nice environment for a pleasant dinner. The young man serving our table was pleasant, efficient, and did everything expeditiously. The food was on the table within twenty minutes of ordering. Tonight I ordered their steak combo meal which came with a grilled chicken breast, a 9 oz sirloin steak, a loaded baked potato, freshly baked dark bread (pumpernickel???) with butter, and a heap of blooming onion petals with a dipping sauce. Everything was very good to excellent and all for a reasonable price. The sirloin had a nice sear on it and was very well seasoned. It was a tad tough in places but overall this was a good steak done just right. Rate it a "B+." The grilled chicken breast was juicy and had an amazing seasoning. It was exceptional. Rate it an "A" for flavor. The baked potato was baked just right...fluffy inside with a crispy skin on the outside. It was not stupidly baked in foil. Rate this potato between an "A-" and a "B+." The blooming onion petals were, as one would expect, delicious. Rate them an "A-" or "B+." The freshly baked dark bread was very good. Rate it a "B+." Two dipping sauces that came with the meal were both excellent. All in all, this was a really satisfying dinner in a nice environment. Rate the overall dining experience FIVE STARS in Las Cruces terms. I'll have to get back there more often. read more

A very long, slow, and disappointing eating experience. I ordered the Cobb salad and a French onion soup. My eating companions had the Ribeye, Onion Blossom Burger, children's Mac and cheese. To be fair I don't care for Outback to begin with because I don't enjoy the seasoning mixture that seems to be on everything. On the Cobb salad they drizzled the thousand island rather than providing a cup where I could pour. Therefore the amount of dressing was incredibly stingy. The cheese had a ton of that white crumbly looking preservative on it. The Cobb salad ingredients included iceberg lettuce, bacon bits (not fresh or even pieces), 4 half cut cherry tomatoes, preservative shredded cheese, boiled egg pieces, and a drizzle of thousand island. Literally the Cobb salad is more substantial and affordable at Denny's (I can't believe I am typing that)!!!! Denny's includes bacon pieces, sliced boiled egg, potato sticks, cheese without white preservatives, avocado a generous helping of dressing and much more. The French onion soup was okay. Nothing to write home about and tasted strongly of Las Cruces water (if you are from the area, you know what I mean). My companions loved their steak and Mac and cheese. Although the Mac and Cheese looked and tasted like something boxed I could easily have made at home. The burger was very greasy. The bathroom was dirty and old looking. 3 of us from California who live here now are familiar with the restaurant chain. We thought we would try it here and went for lunch. They only had a few customers but it took awhile to be seated. After sitting, the music was so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation. When the waitress came for our drink order, I we asked if she could turn it down so we could talk, she stated that it was on automatic and there was nothing she could do about it. We came in and were greeted promptly. The store is clean and the bathrooms were clean. We were seated promptly. Our server came to get our drink order and appetizer order in. We got the bread and it tasted stale but ok. We were hungry. We got our drinks and waited a bit before we placed our order. We got our salads and blooming onion. The blooming onion was good but the salads lettuce were wilted. Not the best but ok. Then we waited at least 30 minutes before our steaks came out. We all ordered the center cut sirloin. Not the best cut but good value. I have to admit my steak tasted off almost like it was going bad. The seasoning was not savory like usual and the steak sauce was not helping it taste better. Our server was nice but he was not as attentive as I would have liked. We sat for a long time and were not checked on before our dinners came out or checked on us with our salads and appetizer. Unsure what happened to others but I came during late afternoon. I was staying at the Hilton & walked over. Drinks We're good I had a Black cherry mule that I had them replace the bourbon with vodka and then I had a Castaway cocktail. Both were really good. I had a blue cheese wedge salad and a sweet baked potato with a sirloin and the ribs. The ribs I was not a fan of we determined it was probably the barbecue sauce. I only ate one of them. There was a lot of meat though and they were not fatty so the quality was there I just was not a fan of whatever was happening with the barbecue sauce. The sirloin was great I got a medium well it tasted fantastic without any sauce. So I would definitely come back here I didn't have any issues with it. I don't know the other barbecue places in the area I would have to check them out my waitress is really nice. No issues from here but definitely not like a mind blowing place but it got the job done. Wasn't dry or had any issues. Considering-ok I got- the cake with strawberries and another castaway cocktail. Very big portions, you'll have leftover. My waitress Kayla was so sweet and didn't make me feel like an overindulgent fatty either lol very great service! It's all about the experience! My husband and I just left and I had to write this review. We are from Los Angeles and wanted to go somewhere familiar. I also have certain food allergies that I have to be careful of. The hostess rolled her eyes when we came in. Dining room was about 10% full. There were five of us. She sat us at one of their long table/booths. There were tables with traditional chairs right next to the table she selected for us. Unfortunately, she dropped our silverware in a pile and walked off without a word. I tried to get her attention, but she had no interest. A few seconds later, the last two members of our group got to the table and said they just couldn't sit there. We looked around, but no employee was visible. We moved to the nearby table with regular chairs. A few minutes later, the hostess came out from the back, saw we had moved, scoffed and walked by in a rush. The waitress was okay, but if when I asked for extra napkins, she threw them down disrespectfully. Not a terrible experience, but they absolutely could have been more friendly. I know moving tables is a trigger for restaurant staff, but they only had a few tables to deal with. When we go out on weekends, we intentionally go around 2:30 PM because we always have 5 or more people. This stops us from having to wait, and allows the restaurant to seat a our larger party without inconveniencing other customers. I don't know what we did, but the Outback staff in Las Cruces, NM certainly wasn't interested in being cordial with my family today. read more

The food came out cold. My wife ordered a filet and it was undercooked and a horrible cut of filet, stringy and a lot of tendon. I ordered a baked potato as well, also cold. My steak and shrimp came out with a hair on the plate. Our waitress was good. Prompt as it was not busy at all. Forgot a few things but i don't hold it against her. Besides the food, the restaurant smelt a little off putting as well. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it wasn't a rotten smell but more of a funk. We decided to give the Las Cruces Outback one more try. This was a mistake. Even though the restaurant was near empty, the service was very slow. I ordered a filet medium rare and it came out very rare and cold. Husband ordered the toowamba salmon and shrimp. The shrimp were the size of popcorn shrimp and incredibly over cooked. The salmon was so over done it was crunchy and dr and left him with a huge stomach ache. On top of the horrible meal and service, it cost almost $80 for 2 people. Don't waste your time and money.
