I tried to talk to him about carrying something his customers want and he ran to the back dismissing me . This is not the first time I've witnessed bad customer service from him . My husband and I went to Applebee's On Saturday for an early dinner. They were not very busy at all. I asked to be seated away from an air vent, as it was very cold in the restaurant. The hostess accommodated us, and I told her it was very cold...it was cold outside as well for our area. She said he would ask the manager to turn up the heat. We placed our order, I had the southwest steak salad, and my husband the chicken and shrimp entree. After a while...it was still very cold--no change since I came in. I mentioned it to the waitress, who also said she would ask the manager to turn up the heat. NEVER HAPPENED. The food was OK; nothing to rave about. We would have given our visit to this Applebees location 5 Stars....However, the service was AWFUL! We waited about 10 minutes by the hostess stand, numerous employees walked by not saying anything. Bad customer service.... I went to this location on Saturday around 7:45pm. It was a party of 4. Before being seated I told the hostess that it was my brother in laws birthday. We were seated and Nuvia was our server. She took our orders and it was around 10 minutes before our food came out. We had to ask for silverware before she ran off... she did not check back on us AT ALL. Halfway through our meal We pressed the Call Server button and waited close to7-10 minutes for her but she didn't come. We went over to the hostess to see if she could track her down for us and it took another 5 minutes for her to come to us and all she said was "You needed me??" I said yes, can we please get refills and get some plates cleared (there were 3 empty appetizer plates and 1 entree plate). she said "which plates?". I pointed to which ones and then she left. Again it took her another 5 minutes to come back with our refills. By this time we were done with our food and simply annoyed. We asked for some boxes and the check. We left very disappointed and with no birthday celebration for my brother in law. Okay, so my husband is not an Applebee's fan at all. If I'm in the mood to go here, we do it to go and get him something else or I go with family and get him something on the way home. With that being said, I have had problems with our Applebee's, but they were always fixed in a timely and professional manner! Best example was about two weeks ago, I went to dinner with my parents and grandfather. I ordered the 4 cheese mac n cheese with the chicken tenders. Also I always get a side of broccoli because they cook it to my liking, most times. However, this time was different. My parents also order a side of broccoli. When we received our order, we noticed that the bottom of all the broccoli had black spots. We assumed it was burnt and went about eating. I cut my broccoli up and mixed it with my pasta. I took one bite and realized the broccoli was not good...it tastes absolutely rotten. I had a bitter horrible taste in my mouth for a good 10-15 minutes. We even found a piece of broccoli in my mom's batch that was so rotten it was decomposing... we showed it to the waitress and she took my dinner and all the broccoli. We asked to have it replaced with new broccoli and my pasta dish. Without hesitation the waitress did so. It took a while to receive the fresh food to the point that everyone was done when it arrived. But, the manager brought the food out and assured us that the cook was talked to and she apologized emphatically, also gave us 15% off the total bill and no charge for the broccoli! I wish I knew their names, they handled this situation so well to the point that we were not upset at all. Their personality and care really made a difference. Extremely Rude, Didn't even make it into the restaurant. We met at the door and were told the wait would be 25 minutes. I had already been told by the hostess that we had a 25 minute wait 20 minutes. Then I was told that we were not allowed to sit on the benches that are outside the door. I asked why and he said "because I said you can't". We were supposed to stand for the next half hour. The gentleman said we could wait or leave (it didn't make any difference to him). We left and will never go back. I believe in telling my friends when we have a good experience at an establishment. Do you like being surprised by a $9.99 mixed fruity drink, a $7.99 draft beer, or a $4.99 milkshake? This is a predatory pricing strategy and it is manipulative and unkind. First time here since it opened. Service was eh. We waited a long time to be seated. Waitress took our drink orders right away but it took almost 20 minutes just to bring them out. It took another 20 for her to get our food orders. She never checked up on us unless we used the little tablet thingy on the table to call her over. Food was okay until I realized that the buffalo wing I was eating was raw. Totally put me off and just ordered drinks for the rest of the night. Not huge on visiting chain restaurants but there isn't much of a choice especially in Lompoc. Probably will not be revisiting this place anytime soon. read more

Went for my birthday, since the menu has something for everyone. husband ordered a burgers and the waitress repeated back -- no pink. Sure enough it was pink. The 2nd burger was even worse, and the manager took it back and the put it back on the grill, third time was a charm, but the rest of us were already done with our meal My salad was drowning in dressing, I couldn't eat it, and soup was too hot. They offered to bring a dessert for us to make up for the mixup with the burger, we told them it was my birthday and he said he was bringing it for the mixup. They brought the brownie with managers compliments and Then they came out to sing to the table next to us -- gee thanks It's a shame that they can't get it right. Everyone was so excited something new in our little town. This is a great spot of lunch during the day, but service is too slow and they can not get us out in under an hour. Excited there is a new place in town! My fiancé and I went in for lunch. When we arrived I expected there to be a longer wait than just five minutes. The past few times we have gone to Applebee's there was a 30 min wait and we ended up leaving. The place was busy and took some time for our server to come over and take our order. I love that the art on the wall are murals of Lompoc and the area. There are murals of some of the local high school sports stars and the delta 4 heavy rocket that recently launched at Vandenberg. When she did come over she was friendly and helpful. We got our drinks very quickly after she left. My only complaint was that it took quite a while for our appetizer to show up. And when it finally came they brought our appetizer along with our entrees. Kind of disappointing. If this hadn't happened the Lompoc Applebee's would have received 4 stars instead of three. I am hoping that with time they will work out these kinks. We got our check soon after we were finished, and 10% off for my fiancé being in the military! We will definitely be back again! read more

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this chain. Most Applebee's I've been to have had really bland food, so I thought this one would be the same. I was wrong. The food was great, drinks were great, staff was great. Our server, Cora, was so sweet to us. She was very attentive, and made sure to make us feel welcome and tended to. We had a great experience here, and if we ever return to Lompoc I'd love to come back to this Applebee's. Very nice server but food was really disappointing. I ordered the shrimp n Parmesan sirloin steak with veggies and mashed potatoes and the broccoli wasn't even cooked; just thrown on the plate with a couple other cooked veggies (that were warm). I have to give the benefit of them being new but cannot use that as an excuse after a few weeks. The place was packed when we got there, few minutes of wait which did not bother me at all. The servers are I would say excellent, they refilled our drinks when ours are almost at the bottom, good job! When we seated we saw at least 5 servers smiling and attending to serve our order. I had the baby back ribs, 20% meat and the rest are bones. I love their potato swirl, and the sauce that came with it. I think I saw the manager 2 hours after their opening time, for a new business like this he should be there when they open it so he can see and correct whatever is needed of correction. Overall, I like it. I don't mind coming back here. At least I don't have to drive to SM if I get the cravings. read more

Very disappointed with this restaurant. In December, they have these signs on all of the tables that say if your server doesn't mention buying an Applebees giftcard, you get a free appetizer for your next visit. Our server didn't mention it, so I brought it up to the hostess as we were leaving. She told us that because we stood up from the table they couldn't give it to us. That is ridiculous! All I heard was a bunch of bad things about this place. I've been there 4 times mainly for drinks and a appetizer. The waitresses are always nice, friendly and extremely attentive. Note it was not super busy! The food and drinks were pretty good. Even ordered to go and it was pretty good. I would recommend double checking your food before you leave. I ordered ribblets n fries and quesadia burger n fries and boneless chicken wings for myself. My wife had the bug beef natchos, n the bannana cheese cake. 1st the bad. The FRIES OMG all the Fries i had Were 1 COLD and white (they should be golden brown n crunchy, Not tonyt folks, these are white, cold, and soft. Now if any of you foodies out there know about sides n fries there is only 2 ways this would happen. 1. Tooooo many fries in basket, outer ones are golden and all inner ones are basically steamed. Or 2. They have a set time that they need to keep as a minimum, ans were just pulled early. Either way they sucked. Also the coffee service was slow, unreasonably slow. With a chain this strong this should not be happening. Coffee drinkers unite let them know im ordering coffee cause i love coffeel. So please i dont like to see the bottom of my cup. All the rest of the food was from ok to pretty killer. The quesadilla burger, beef natchos, n ribblets were killer i recomend. Our waitress Marissa V. Was awesome i recommend pretty smile very nice manners, polite, very apologetic about coffee service and fries. Offered to have some made for us. But i declined. My wife and I were very happy to see an Applebees open in Lompoc. When we walked through the doors I was shocked to see all the cobwebs, but because it was Halloween I accepted it (kidding). The host took our name and said it would be about a 15-20 minute wait, which I couldn't understand because there were several empty tables. To our surprise, the wait was actually only 5 minutes. The atmosphere was nice, the bar was crowded and lots of TV's. The only issue I had was it was a Thursday night and being a huge NFL football fan I would have thought they would be televising the game. When we asked the host if he would have the channel changed to the game that was on the TV above our table, he gave us a fake smile and said yes....we both knew it wouldn't happen, and it didn't..he just blew us off. We finally stopped the manager and he finally changed it to the game. As for the food and service, our waitress was very friendly and stopped by our table several times to make sure our food was okay and our drinks were always full. We both had the Parmesan Steak and Shrimp, the picture was on the menu and it looked really good. When we got our meals it didn't look much like the picture, but the flavor was good. The steak was good and cooked the way I like it, although the shrimp was a little overcooked. The mashed potatoes were awesome! I would have liked to have had a soup or salad, and maybe some bread with the meal. I give our waitress and manager 5 stars, the food 3 stars, and the host 1 star for taking our name and -4 for snubbing us. Total rating is a 3. read more

Im finally writing a review for Applebees. And I must say we had good times (hence 3 stars instead 1). This time was horrible! My husband ordered four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken. It was a soupy mess with over cooked noodles. I ordered the cross cut ribs and the meat was so dry I was tempted to put water on it just to rehydrate it. Our family of seven just finished dinner at Applebees. The hostess was friendly and accommodating and got us seated in a corner booth inside of two minutes. The restaurant and bathrooms were squeaky clean and both the food and the service were excellent. The Manager (John) was out on the floor bussing tables. In the times we live in, it's awesome to see management still leading from the front. Kudos for that! Our server (Kelly) was outstanding. She was very friendly and very attentive to her tables. She was very helpful in explaining the menu options and specials. She made sure to check back often and was very polite when addressing the table to ask about refills, etc. Our food came out quickly. Two of us had the all you can eat shrimp for $14.99. Great deal and the quality was good, too. Shrimp was crispy and not greasy at all. All in all, one of the best dining experiences in recent past. We were beyond impressed to see a big box restaurant running as smoothly as Lompoc Applebees is. We will definitely be back! read more

Went here despite the poor reviews. Seems they have a new menu going on right now so was willing to try it out. I got the ribs with garlic fries and my friend got the sirloin steak wit macaroni and bacon bits. All the food came out quickly and was delicious. My only complaint was that the fries were just a little soft. Cooked...but soft. But my impression of the place was much better than the previous reviews. Waited an hour for my pick up I walked into the building and 3 staff members saw me and did not approach me but run away instead. I sat in the store for 15 mins before someone asked what my name was. Then I thought I'd get me food no I waited another 35 mins while I was ignored. I understand that COVID makes things busier but my experience I had was awful and I was so excited to dine out with COVID going on. I payed overpriced for a dried piece of meat and stone cold wings.
