Beef stew, bread and butter, baked beans.

My Son wanted a steak for his 8th grade Graduation so we landed on this place. Luckily we beat the crowd, waited less than 20 mins to be seated. The atmosphere was good, western and I like the dim lighting. They have a bar that seemed to be rambunctious for a Tuesday but didn't get to that area. It was our first time. Ordered the steak bites with mash potatoes which came with your choice of soup or salad. I picked the beef stew soup which ended being really good. The starters came about family style. Rack of bread and butter, a small pot of beans ( this we didn't know was shared) but that's ok. My friend got the lobster Mac n cheese. Everyone (3) got the prime rib with either fries or salad. Over all it was good, service was quick. I was too full to get through my steak bites but had lots to take home for lunch.

We stopped by Cool Hand Luke's as we came into town and absolutely loved the western vibe -- such a fun and welcoming atmosphere! My daughter had the steak bites, and they were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. I went with the BBQ tri-tip sandwich, which was a great choice. I really appreciated that the BBQ sauce was served on the side -- kept the sandwich from getting soggy or messy, and the flavor was spot on. My boyfriend ordered the seared ahi tuna, and wow -- it was packed with flavor and definitely a complete, satisfying meal. We also grabbed the Jim Beam bourbon salmon to go -- haven't tried it yet, but it looks absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this spot for great food, a relaxed vibe, and friendly service!

Great service deliciously large portions Hot bread & butter delivered to table before order + tall jars of ice water with slice of lemon. We ordered: *pork chops & mashed potatoes w/side of beans & salad *hamburger that comes topped w/onion rings, bacon, tomato & lettuce (requested no cheese) Big portion taking half to go! Definitely shareable portions All good, definitely would come back when in the area again!

My order was abruptly canceled no explanation other than that they were "unable to fulfill the order."

We placed an order at noon today for a Thanksgiving dinner, which was confirmed. Ten minutes before our scheduled pickup time, the order was suddenly canceled. This left my family and most sadly, my kids, who had specifically requested dinner from here without the meal we were counting on. I understand things happen, but if they were unable to fulfill the order, it would have been considerate and professional to let us know hours before pick-up, not just 10 minutes prior. That would've given us time to make other arrangements. Very disappointing experience, especially on a holiday.

Came by this past Sunday before going across the parking lot to the winery to listen to live music. They have an all day everyday happy hour. What a great deal. They had tables set up in the parking lot as well as an inside dining room and separate saloon (bar). I ordered a $7 well drink, one of their $5 shots, and $5 potato skins. Food and were delivered timely. Food and drinks were fine. Service was efficient and mildly friendly.

We had good customer service, our server Megan was very polite and attentive, even while juggling multiple tables. The wait time was short, which we appreciated. That said, the food was just okay this time. We visited about a year ago and were surprised by how different the atmosphere felt now. The restaurant had a musty smell, like dirty carpet, and the décor above as well as the window curtains were visibly dusty. First impressions matter, and the entrance was noticeably dirty. There was even a Swiffer left out near the front desk, which looked careless. This used to be a great steakhouse. I hope management takes steps to address these easily fixable issues, it would make a big difference.

Great ambience, walks in no reservations party of 6, friendly and patient accommodating staff. Great service and great portions and food delivery as prompt! Would come back in the future. Fun spot to grab a good steak I would say.

We came here for my Dads birthday party in November 2024. We originally wanted to go to other local spots but unfortunately they don't take reservations and we were a large group. It's all good, I've been to cool hand Luke's a few times and it's always been good? Our waitress was amazing and literally remembered everything. She deserves an award. Truly. Drinks were good. Apps were mid. We ordered their Sundance Shrimp and it was very disappointing. Looked nothing like the picture and was soggy. Fried shrimp dipped in sauce should ideally come out warm and somewhat crisp. This dish came out room temp and soggy. Huge disappointment. I decided to order something off their specialty menu and omg it was a huge mistake. Laugh at me for ordering a country fried steak but if they're claiming it's a fan favorite it better be good. But it was soggy and somewhat cold again. I was really sad :( It was warm/room temp which made me feel like maybe it was pre made but idk.. whatever. Bottom line is that I could've gotten better from Pappys. My boyfriend had ribs, brother had steak bites, and my cousin had a steak salad. Those were pretty good but again also not hot. Very room temperature or warm which was concerning. We took our unfinished plates to go and warmed it up today and omg it was like wayyyyy better than it was fresh bc it was super hot. Idk if that's a good thing? All I know is my $300 check wasn't worth our night out. Will I be back? Possibly... we'll see..

That misleading listing is what caused me to book in the first place. When I discovered the error, I called to cancel. I asked three times whether a refund would be approved. Three times I was told yes, the manager would take care of it the next day. Don't worry, it's fine. So I trusted them. The next morning: denied. No refund. No explanation. No accountability. Because I trusted their word, I lost the window to just bite the bullet and make the hour drive to and from family. I had to book a second hotel out of pocket, stretching my budget in a way that was genuinely costly. All because a staff member couldn't simply say "I don't know" instead of giving me false assurances to get off the phone. This isn't a miscommunication. It's a lack of integrity. Do not rely on anything you're told verbally here and think twice before booking at all.

This was our first visit to this rustic tasting room, and we had a nice experience. It was a Friday, right after opening, and we had the whole place to ourselves. The service was friendly, and my wife and I shared a traditional and custom flight. We thought that the wines were decent, some better suited to our palates than others, but well-made, nonetheless. We were fortunate to meet and speak with the owner who happened to be bringing in supplies and got a little more detail on the wines, than we did from our "winerista". He also mentioned that his niece opened a winery in Los Olivos (Story of Soil), which focused on wine styles a little out of our wheelhouse, but we thought we'd give that a try as well, and it turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. Costa De Oro is a nice place with wine varietals for everyone's tastes. I recommend you stop in and give them a try when you're passing through the area.

The building is from 1917 and you can feel it everywhere.... dark wood, stained glass, a ship model in a glass case, an old house telephone booth, a hand-painted figurehead hanging from the ceiling holding lanterns. It's not trying to be charming, it just is. The tri-tip sliders and pretzel bites were so good I forgot to take a picture before they were gone (especiallythe tri tip sliders). Happy hour pricing made the whole thing even better. Seriously, if you're anywhere near Santa Maria, make the drive. I'll definitely be back and I'm a little annoyed it took me this long to find it! Tim the bartender was also outstanding. Friendly, warm and informative and of course a great bartender.

She was busy with a crowd of regulars but you'd never know it from her positive and super pro attitude with me. She made me an excellent espresso martini ($9 happy hour price) and brought it over to me at my seat. The room itself was expanded some years ago but the original design was by a very famous designer of the 1940s who also worked on Hearst Castle and the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. You can guess where the original footprint was expanded as there are several historic photos of the room hanging on the walls. If you sit near the fireplace or in one of the old booths, you can still imagine you're imbibing in the 1940s pub-like tavern of 80+ years ago. The food menu looks incredible and the happy hour specials extend to food as well. The nighttime bartender wasn't quite as charming but he was friendly enough when I returned later for an after dinner Fernet Branca ($16.00 for a non-happy hour double). You can take your drink to your room if you prefer. I would like to return for another happy hour and try the food.

Almost didn't come here as thought we'd end up with the same... Upon walking in we were greeted by hostess right away asking if we wanted to dine in bar, dinning room or patio. It was a nice night and contemplated patio but the bar lounge area looked inviting and chose the space with hair on hide backed booth and comfy chair. I settled in the corner booth, it was so comfy. Such a nice treat from the night before on hard wooden chairs at that other place... Our waitress was so nice and friendly. She was slammed but very attentive. Sitting back and watching the very busy bar, you saw locals coming and going and staff knowing them all. So encouraging. We settled in on the Bullseye, the largest version aka Ribeye and shared it. I went ahead and added an extra salad for me and just shared the rest of sides. Comes with a shrimp cocktail with the babiest shrimp, I've never seen them that tiny. I don't rate sea food so I just watched. The hubs likes sea food but prefers fried shrimp. He ate a few bites but again it's not really his thing. I got the side salad with ranch and he got clam chowder. He loved his clam chowder. I was pleasantly surprised at the mixed green salad. Everything was great! Steak cooked perfectly with great taste and tender. Baked potato was so good. The beans had a great taste, I'm not a huge bean person but something was up and I enjoyed a few bites and two slices of bread drenched in the bean gravy juice, so good! I asked for a side of chimichurri sauce (saw it on the menu), I used that for my steak and it was a great flavor adder; it didn't need it I'm just a sauce condiment person. We were stuffed but I decided to get dessert to go. Settled on the flourless chocolate mousse cake. Before leaving notice a couple tables over had what looked like a chocolate cake square with ice cream on top. I was hoping that wasn't what I ordered... because I was expecting more torte/mousse. Upon arrival at our RV I checked and yes I got what I was expecting! Even stuffed I just had to have a bite, OMG! So amazing. The slice of mousse cake/kinda like a soft torte came with fresh raspberries, strawberries and mint. A bite of that chocolate with a berry was heaven! The restaurant has such a great feel, think decor you'd find at ranches in Texas, plush seating, cattle pictures. We felt at home and can't wait to come back. Planning on the hubs getting his chowder us sharing beef skewers and a twice baked potato. He might just get two bowls of chowder! Then more dessert as they have a pastry chef on staff who likes to change up offerings.
