This has been the most horrible experience ever!! From our drinks taking more than 15 minutes then. Ordered peach tea that should be called water with peach. Our server who was clearly new, had NO MENU KNOWALEDGE! After 35 min wait our order came in wrong which was delivered by a different server. We repeated our order to her and she told us wings didnt come in 4's so not only were they wrong, they made the decision to bump tne amount of wings for us!! The wings came back wrong again!! We called the manager to the table and she appologized and went on her way. Eating wings, we asked for napkins and they came long after!! I ate at Applebee's in Lubbock out of convenience because it's close to my hotel and open late. Service was extremely slow. Horrible food here. If only the food looked and tasted as good as the menu photos! Ordered chips and salsa but received mostly the broken chip leftovers. The chicken I ordered tasted like fish. Couldn't eat it. Also, very skimpy servings for the price (ordered chicken breast over rice and 1/2 the plate was empty - made me think half my food was missing). They either have poor management, cooks who don't care, or they want to run off their business. Maybe all of the above? Hate to waste food but didn't want to get sick. It was very disappointing and sad to put it mildly. First and last visit and will never eat here again. read more

I don't think this establishment even deserves a 1 star. This place used to be my weekly hangout. The peach Long Island was awesome and the quesadilla burger was the bomb. The last time I was there the service was horrible and they brought out my order and it was not what I ordered. They took it back then tried to charge me for both entrees their fault and they tried to bank off me for it. I swore I would not go back again but I was craving a quesadilla burger something fierce. So I figured that I would order curbside to go so that I would not be disappointed by the crappy service. So I show up to pick up my gem and the manager and staff stated they did not have any record of my order. I showed them the proof and they still did not try to rectify it. Everytime we come here i think this time will be better we'll nope it's not. This visit we had sat down and ordered our meals and after 20 minutes the waiter told us they were out of ribs! Like really? Wtf! Our food takes about 1 whole hour to come out every time we come here. Idk why I kept trying to give this place a chance. We visited on a Tuesday and it was busy! We frequent this location but have never experienced service this subpar. They have a wing special on Tuesdays and honestly that's what I should have gotten. No alcoholic drinks tonight just a sprite and I had a sweet tea. We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese as an appetizer. I ordered the 3 cheese pasta with a shrimp scewer side and my husband ordered the chicken trip basket. My food was cold like not warm at all. Then my shrimp skewers didn't come out until I was 3/4 finished with my pasta bowl. And instead of grilled they looked broiled. I couldn't eat them yuck. Waste of $5. My husbands chicken strips were dry but he says the fries were fresh. I just don't get it. They were busy but not like walk- ons busy. why did the food suck idk but I will not spend my lil money at this location again. We have tried to eat here 3 times in the last 2 months and all 3 times we have walk out due to lack of acknowledgment from any server

The service was actually horrible. It was my friend's birthday and he loves Applebee's so we wanted to surprise him by all being there. They could not seat all of us together which was frustrating enough, but the manager offered us free appetizers which was nice. However, our service throughout the meal was HORRIBLE. My friend never got his wings or his fries and when the bill came they were on there despite never getting them. Additionally, if you're in Texas the "happy hour" drink specials DO NOT go past 11 pm- BUT IT SAYS THIS IN EXTREMELY SMALL PRINT so be aware that if you order one of those drinks after 11 you will get charged full price. So we all ended up getting charged about $8 for drinks ordered after 11, which was not pointed out to us until the bill came. Additionally, my boyfriend do not order a second beer and was brought one and charged for it, which we also had to correct. Also, the manager said he would bring our friend who was having a birthday a desert but never followed through. Our waitress was not apologetic and neither was the manager. I wouldn't normally leave a review like this and I wouldn't normally say this, but I won't be back (not that Applebee's is my top choice anyway). read more

Worse location I've ever been too, walked in 1145pm website says open till 1am I get sat by a man that doesn't seem to know whats hes doing. I sit look at menu wait make my decision...wait ... look around servers getting their cash outs ready at table right behind me... me still waiting, after 15 mins the same guy that sat me told me, "excuse me we are closing in 10 minutes would you like to to order food togo?" I shocked him with my reply of NO...he got me a drive but I still waited (guess they were drawing straws to see who was to take me) finally this waitress comes to take my order and I was hungry and upset told her to bring everything. Then I see the manager turn away a elderly gentleman who was looking to have dinner ... mind you I had just put in my order! Guess yall made too many sales yall could do with out! Horrible service and we never even sat down....that was just walking through the doors. Went in at 9:30 pm on a Saturday (closes at 2) waited for 15 minutes for someone to even approach us (only ones waiting) ...3 people walked right by us and then 1 ask exasperatedly and bothered "umm how many??" A group of friends and I went to this Applebee's on the evening of Saturday, October 17th and it was one of the worst experiences we ever had. When we first stepped in, the host was too busy chatting with his friends that he did not acknowledge us for at least 5 minutes. When he eventually did come up to us and found us a table, he just slapped some water on it and quickly wiped it off. He then told us we had to wait "or go sit at a wet table, I don't care." Then he kind of just stood there and held his hand out with the menus. We should have known then to leave. We then sat there for a good 20 minutes without anyone coming up to us. Eventually, the same host rang the "last call" bell and we still had not even been welcomed at the table. I turned over to him (we were at a high top by the bar) and asked "can we get a first call?" I have never been given a dirtier look by a host, or anyone, before in my life. The host then went over to a waiter and kept looking at us and pointing. Let me be clear, the waitress was extremely kind and helpful; I really think that he never told her that we were there and she did an amazing job so this review is not about here. She gets 5 stars. The host, though, really made this the worst experience and the reason none of us will ever go back. We could not get the host's name, because he was not wearing a name tag and refused to give us his name on five separate occasions when we asked. I also saw him yell at another table when they were taking a bit longer to finish (he wanted them to leave immediately so they could close). He had curly hair and was working until close. I read the reviews so we entered with mixed expectations. However, the greeting was prompt and cheerful. Our server, Marlo, soon appeared and everything went fine from there. Our food arrived within a few minutes and was hot. I ordered steak with sides of mashed potatoes and broccoli and it was as ordered. My eating mate, AKA wife, ordered a salad and hamburger and said it was the best hamburger she has had in Lubbock so far. Saying a lot considering we have lived here for 20 years. Roy, the visiting manager dropped by our table with a five dollar credit card toward our next meal. I asked him if he had read the reviews and why they we so bad. He said he had read them and was shocked, and that he was working on making the situation better. Working in a restaurant is, IMHO, a tough road to hoe; I wouldn't last 10 minutes as a manager or even 5 minutes as a server so I appreciate those who try. Wife thinks the food is a bit choleric, so we may split a meal next time, but we plan a next time. read more

Well, my bad for even trying this place. In town getting our daughter moved in to her dorm so in the midst of the shopping spree we needed some food. Unfortunately this place was close to one of the stores we needed to go to. Haven't been to an Applebee's in well over a decade, which apparently is long enough to forget about how terrible it is. If it were subpar I wouldn't be writing this. Oh, if only it were. Start to finish it was awful. Our server was quite a price of work, or something. She started off by telling us about how the last 48 hours of her life were, which was mostly complaining about how tired she was from working doubles there as well as her second job. She mentioned that she had showered, thank god, but she damn sure hadn't washed her uniform in well over a week. Suffice it to say it was very obvious that she wipes her hands on her pants, apron or shirt which makes me question her basic hand washing practices. Out of the draft beer I wanted so we ordered UNSWEET tea. We got sweet tea...and there was something stuck to the wife's tea glass. Ugh. The food was delivered by another server. At first I was hoping we had gotten a different server, but he was as sweaty and disheveled as our original waitress. And he apologized when he delivered the food because he was new and had no idea what he was auctioning off to our table. Then I had to go ask for silverware. Our original waitress was sitting at the bar and said they were roping silver because they had been so busy that they ran out. Fair enough. When I unwrapped my silverware, the utensils were still wet (no big deal) but definitely not clean. The waitress said "oh, is that dirty?". Yes, filthy. I just need some napkins please. Long story short, between the level of "service", the overly chatty waitress ( who told us all about her four kids and a grand baby on the way and what the sex would be) the almost empty restaurant that was dirty and the floor needed attention, I assume there is no one managing that disaster. Never again will I darken the doorstep of an Applebee's. What a dump. Definitely the crappiest chain restaurant in business and that's saying something. read more

My husband finally gave in to me wanting to go to Applebee's, but to my dismay it started out as an absolute disaster! We ordered on line, that worked out well with a 15 minute wait, no problem there. When we arrived the Curbside To Go door was locked. My husband went back to the main door and was ignored for about 10 minutes even though there was only about 3 or 4 tables with customers and employees standing around. He was told he would have to walk to the back of the restaurant to the to go area. When he went back he was told, by an employee that didn't want to be working, that there were none of the appetizer that we ordered. He offered to get something else but by the time they were to be done the rest of the food would be cold. My husband declined, so they called the supervisor to fix the ticket. When we got home my husband's food was in the bottom of the bag because the lid wasn't secured properly. My food wasn't cooked properly, had to microwave the food to warm it up. I called the restaurant because I was furious. The young lady that answered was very polite and paged the night manager to the phone. I explained what all was wrong. He was very apologetic and understood why I was so upset. He helped get our problem solved even offering to fix us the appetizer the next day and call us when it was ready. He was the only good to come from our visit tonight. I hope the appetizer turns out good tomorrow. read more

I came in for dinner after a long day of traveling. I was sitting at the bar and the service was great! The bartender was friendly and attentive to all of the patrons sitting at the bar. My food came out great and within 15-20 mins. Would definitely eat here again for a work trip! read more

I would leave negative stars if I had the option. First off, we walked in and weren't helped, the hostess was too busy talking to the servers to notice us so we sat ourselves. When we sat down at the booth she came a few minutes later and had a serious attitude. She said in an extremely condescending tone, "oh...you know I'm supposed to seat you right...? Because that's my job," and just glared at us even though she was too busy goofing around with her fellow employees to even seat us. Then the server comes and he's nice. It was fine until we ordered a $1 margarita (which was the only reason we went because Applebee's food is incredibly subpar). We specifically ordered the $1 margaritas and he asked if we wanted to add a flavor, so we added a flavor assuming it would add $.50 or so to the marg price as most flavor add-ons do. We get a few more "$1" margs during the meal- which took forever to come by the way- considering it was completely dead. Then we get our bill and see we've been charged $3.50 for each marg plus a $.50 flavor add-on. We said we wanted the dollar margs and he made it seem as if flavor add-ons were possible with this option. HE FAILED TO MENTION GETTING A FLAVOR WAS NOT ALLOWED ON THE DOLLAR OPTION AND WOULD ACTUALLY BE FULL PRICE. Even though he's the one who offered a flavor after we requested dollar margs. Then, as if this experience wasn't as annoying and disappointing already. My guy friend went to use the bathroom and the girl hostess (the same one who was rude to us earlier) was just awkwardly standing in the boys restroom - with no cleaning supplies whatsoever, just standing there and then smiled and said "my bad" when my friend walked in. She had the nerve to be rude to us for seating herself when she spends her shift goofing around and hiding in the men's restroom. read more

Got the cross-cut ribs with mixed veggies and broccoli. The ribs were inedible. There were tiny little bits of meat on top of big bits of bone. Very weird. And the sauce was like you had poured corn syrup straight on the ribs. Veggies weren't cooked enough. Couldn't even get a fork in the carrots. Broccoli had no butter or anything on it. Absolutely disgusting. The waitress was nowhere to be found. We finally asked another waitress to get her. They took my meal off, but charged me for the salad I got to go just so I could make it through the rest of the workday. Also took way too long for a lunch on a workday. read more
