We were headed to another restaurant and realized 'we haven't been to Applebee's in awhile'. And, we won't be in the future either. We were greeted by loud, obnoxious music as we entered. The lack of customers at straight up noon should have been our second sign. The service is incredibly slow. We've been here almost 30 minutes and still waiting on our lunch. Had lunch there today. Emilio waited on us. He was amazing! Very attentive. The food was good as well. However the restaurant itself was dirty. The manager set in the bar area eating her lunch with a crowd of about 6 other employees. We could hear them at our table talking about past customers and how annoyed they were of them. They were rather loud. It's just very unprofessional. If you need to complain about your customers don't do it in front of other customers. read more

Better than Chili's for sure. We went on Mother's Day for lunch. My wife and son got dollar margaritas which is a great deal. Nachos were pretty good, neither were the mozzarella sticks or the onion ring I tried off my son's plate. Overall not a bad deal for what we paid. I never eated at applebee's and I had a good experience. I the beginning our beers were flat (no gas) and they changed them quickly at no cost. I ordered meat with onion soup. The soup was really good. the meat was fine for an American food place it was pretty decent. It came along with some roasted potatoes that had a very interesting zesty taste to them. For 8 bucks all that food was very good for me. The quality was good too. first time coming to this applebee's and our server was really slow and he only had 3 other tables and was in the kitchen the whole entire time..he was teaching the menu to someone he was training while we are waiting on our checks..we waited on our checks for 30 mins and another table has soggy chips and needs refills that have been waiting a while too....but the food and drinks were horrible .. my noodles were very under cooked.. the drinks only tasted like sweet and sour and took a while to get to table when it wasn't busy at all.. the chips were very soggy .. they don't have wells which i think it's so weird. i know he was training someone but that is not how you do it..will not be coming back. read more

I placed an order for pick up inside the restaurant. After waiting for 25 minutes to get the bartender's attention, I left the restaurant without my order, despite already paying for it. Our waiter took 15 minutes to bring waters and I ordered one of their $2 drinks, that ended up being $3, and when I tried to order another, he told me last call had been made. Not to us! A friend took me out to dinner here for Valentine's day. I normally don't like applebees, and was more skeptical about it being busy for the holiday. We waited about 10 min for a table and our hostess was also our waitress. Her name was Desiree S. She was spectacular! She was able to greet us with a great smile and keep up with our orders and the tables around us. I haven't had a better service from a waitress in any other restaurant in Lubbock. We came for the dollar Long Island ice teas and ended up ordering food, we got the 2 for $20 and our food was amazing!! Our waitress Kenzie was also very attentive to us even though it was very busy on a Friday night! This Applebee's cancelled a breakfast fundraiser for High Point Village 30 minutes before the event with no valuable excuse. The villagers had practiced serving for months. The fundraiser was intended to raise money for the Special Olympics. I'm very very disappointed. read more

Worst customer service ever. Takes about 1 hour to even get asked about drinks for starters. We got seated at a dirty table and the waitress just moved the plates to another table without wiping our table down. The restaurant had a max of 10 customers and none of waiters/waitresses bothered to help us. Another couple walked out and told us we might as well leave. The waitresses and waiters are rude. I would give it 0 stars if I could. After waiting 1 hour to be seated (we only had 6) & we asked to be seated with a booth and table for two across from one another but were told they couldn't. Those tables sat empty while they proceeded to sit the 8-10 parties that came in after us. Our waitress was so worried about the people she knew that came in after us that she came and told us she would be back as she went to them & waited on the people she knew. Then we waited another 1.5 hours for our food - my steak came out burnt, my salad never came out & my son's steak came out 1/2 the size of my daughter's (both ordered the same thing). If you want to come to a restaurant that will make you die of old age from waiting on your food so long then you're at the right place. Me as the customer shouldn't have to get up and go grab the check myself nor should I be begging for someone to give us service. The staff that they hire in there seems like something out of a circus act extremely unprofessional. I don't know what to say about the cooks because my food is always cold whenever it comes out. Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I've have in a while. The waitress took our drink orders and came back 15 minuted later to take our order only to then realize she forgot our drinks. Brought us our drinks and appetizer about 10 minutes later. Didn't return for another 35 minutes to bring us our food, apologized for the wait, but when we started eating we realized our food was actually cold on top. So it appears that she just forgot to bring it from the kitchen. Only checked on us once afterwards when we ran out of drinks, but never actually brought them. Then brought us our check 20 minutes later. She visited the table behind us at least 5 times while we were simply waiting for her to pick up our card to pay. Onion rings and the shrimp tastes the same, the tenderloin was very, very salty and the staff dosen't have any idea on what to reccomend. The sports on large TV's are good though.
