BACKED OUT ON US! Be very careful booking Zach and Paddy Wagon. We had a verbal agreement for them to cater my daughter's graduation party, even agreeing to an additional premium because we are farther out of their typical work area. We were told a contract would be coming. Nothing. A follow-up email from us was returned with a promise to send a contract right away. Nothing. 3 more days pass so we send another email. In response to this email, we were told they were backing out, primarily due to distance. But we had discussed that previously and it wasn't a problem then. Now, apparently it is. I've always been a man of my word, so when someone breaks a verbal agreement with me, I'm quite offended. We lost about 2 week's time of planning while given false promises and the silent treatment. Wow wow wow. Hubby and I went to a Consolidated Electric event with 3 food trucks. I checked out Yelp reviews, and this was the one for me. We ordered 2 Fifteen To Life. The pickle was crisp. I loved the coleslaw with red cabbage in the sandwich. The brisket yummy. Ample portions of everything. I tend to save everything I really like for another meal. I saved this. I have at least half of my sandwich. I noticed this food truck in Columbus. They were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. It was so good. I am a happy camper. But they kept the line moving, the food fresh, and for the amount of people they were serving it went fast. I ordered the Bourbon Braised Brisket Tacos, which was an order of 2. They were good, a bit messy. I also ordered the Hummuscide (hummus with pita and veggies) which I liked more. The veggies were cool and refreshing and the pita was warm with a bit of flavor. They were serving a small preschool for a family dinner event and weren't able to keep up with the small number of orders. Ran out of many items, including hilariously NAPKINS, and took forever. I didn't even get to experience the actual food because they were so slow. The workers were clearly mad and grumpy, too, making every request awkward. Went to an outdoor wedding. The Paddy Wagon food was right for the type of venue. However, the service could have been at least a little bit friendlier. There were three workers, and one was horribly rude and grouchy. She treated us like we were a bother, cussed under her breath when a guest was handed down her food from the high window of the truck and dropped it, and, seemed annoyed that the guest asked for another. I went to this food truck yesterday at Columbus Commons. Of all the food trucks I tried yesterday, this one was by far my favorite. I tried the brisket tacos and the meat was perfect. I was afraid the meat would be either too juicy and make the tacos wet/soggy or too dry but they somehow got it just right. I absolutely loved the slaw they put on top. I'm not a big fan of purple cabbage but this was perfection. The staff was super sweet and kind too. I had the brisket. It was very good but pricey. I asked to leave the slaw off and add onion, peppers, mushroom. It was a $12 sandwich. Paddy Wagon is a pretty solid food truck option with a variety of options. Today I tried the Grilled Cheese sandwich with bacon added and it was very good. For $5 plus a dollar extra for bacon you get a buttery grilled cheese sandwich with grilled onions and mushrooms... a huge pickle spear and some kettle cooked potato chips. I have gotten this sandwich a few times and it has been consistently good. I gave them three stars instead of four because of the other item I tried... the hummus, their roasted garlic hummus to be exact. I love hummus and this was just off flavor wise. I think they may have gotten heavy handed with the tahini. All in all, try the grilled cheese if you are in the mood for something a little heavier and stay away from the hummus. read more

The other tenants seemed to really like the food. It doesn't bad, just not something I would seek out. The cook was more friendly than the order taker. I guess I'm not only reviewing Paddy, but food truck Thursday in general. I would highly recommend arriving before 1:30, as food trucks may run out of food, depending on volume. I noticed at least 3 trucks shutting down shop around that time. There were 10-12 trucks altogether. All 3 of us made a beeline for Paddy Wagon. I really wish they had a burger on their menu, but my bourbon glazed brisket tacos were delicious. I paid extra to add pineapple to mine, but I ended up picking them off. They were clearly canned, and had a strange flavor. I will ask for light slaw next time as well. A little too much. The meat and sauce had great flavor though! The 15-hour slow smoked brisket is phenomenal. There was the exact right amount of spice and BBQ flavors. And the kettle chips are amazing! I kind of got ripped off on the chips (only received 7 little chips) and the fact that they were so good and I barely got any makes me sad. But for $7 total that sandwich alone was worth it. Everyone's freaking out about the Brisket, while I'm over here raving about the Chicken wrap. It's true--I've walked past this truck SO many times. When I first heard of this truck my thoughts were burgers... I guess because of the whole 'Paddy' or 'Patty' being burger slang in general, but there's no ground beef/sirloin to be found on this truck's menu. It's in relation to law enforcement. Clever. I don't particularly stray to bizarre artisan tacos unless it's coming from authentic taco trucks, so I passed on the brisket, but most everyone I know who has tried these swear by how tasty they are. I decided to hit up the Chicken wrap or 'Billy Club' in search for slightly lighter non-red meat fare. It did not disappoint, and it was massive! I probably could have eaten just half and saved the rest for later. It was also very simple. It wasn't overly sloppified with sauces and condiments. It's simplicity rang though, and even the peppered kettle chips paired up nicely. It was A-OK plus, and I would definitely hit up that wrap again. Prices are... average for food truck. We enjoyed The Paddy Wagon at the food truck festival. D had had them before, but it was my first experience. D had spoken highly of the playing card system they use for their ordering organization, and he loved the legal system theme, especially "throwing the book" at an order (which means all of the toppings are added). Unfortunately we were a little disappointed. We shared a sandwich and the quality was okay and the portion was sparse. Our sandwich was more bun than it was meat. For the price, it seemed like an even bigger disappointment. The 614 loves The Paddy Wagon, and so we look forward to giving them another try! Their truck was off the beaten path at Comfest this year, near the tennis courts. I ordered their vegetarian option, which was the pineapple tacos, with portabellos. They were able to take credit cards, using their tablet. Yay. I'm not usually a mushroom fan, but grilled pineapple sounded so good I was willing to give them a shot. They were so so so delicious. Great food truck! They came to our neighborhood for a food truck event. This line was LONG but the smell of brisket in the air couldn't be ignored. We probably waited a half hour to get to the front to order, but there were tons of people. I had the grilled cheese with brisket, caramelized onion, and mushrooms. It was on some thick toast, cooked perfectly. Completely amazing! I got some slaw on the side and it was great! My hubby had the brisket sandwich with mushroom, onion, pepper-jack and slaw. He loved it too. Both came wth a pickle and some just average kettle chips. Nothing to write home about there. This truck was certainly worth the wait! It is easily the best grilled cheese I've ever had. We waited about 3 minutes after we ordered to get called for our food. Several people before us were waiting quite a bit longer. Good stuff. I've not had the brisket yet - every time Paddy Wagon is at my work I happen to be in the mood for something lighter, and the Billy Club wrap is always perfect for that. The main reason for my review is how masterful they are at making the wraps. I'm eating one now as I type and my keyboard isn't all gross! They're never a drippy mess and the ingredients are always there in the right amounts, though I do get extra 5-oh! sauce because it's delicious. The greens on it are always fresh and tasty. It's filling with a smattering of salt & pepper chips for $7, which I'm finding is a good deal as far as food truck stuff goes. Hopefully I'll get around to trying more items! read more

Best damn brisket in the land! Got myself a juicy 'ole brisket & slaw sandwich today and made a delicious mess of myself eating it. The meat was that perfect blend of crisp and tender, the slaw had a unique, tangy sweetness to it and the butter braised bun was also a delight. I often complain about how food trucks are so pricey, and then I find one that's super affordable and I wonder "how do they stay in business?" Paddy Wagon's prices are very reasonable for what you get. All I can say is they must make up for the low price by the sheer quantity they must sell. Yum! read more

I added bacon, which didn't add a whole lot to the sandwich, but that was fine, since I don't think they charge you for it. First impressions can be deceiving. I was under the impression Paddy Wagon served only beef/burgers/etc. Since I can't eat beef, until Friday PW had only been on my radar as a truck to avoid. WRONG! Totally wrong. Their menu is varied, with vegetarian options (grilled portobella and some bangin' hummus that we smashed through completely). I got a buffalo chicken wrap, which was everything but not too much of anything - the buffalo sauce did not overwhelm the chicken or the other creamy sauce, and the wrap held up under the weight of the hefty amount of chicken. They know how to put together real street food. The spouse had the brisket sandwich and found it right tasty. Both sandwiches came with simple chips, which were enough crunch to get through the savory wraps. This truck was outside of OSU east hospital and since i was leaving, and hungry, I decided to pick up some food on the the way home. I got the 15 to life brisket sandwich because I am a fan of brisket and slaw and it sounded delicious. They had a bunch of add-ons that you get for $1 each (that would add on quickly), or allof them for $4, which seems like a pretty good deal. Now it was 22° today but my food was prepared very swiftly. When he was about to give me my food, he was handing it to me in an open cardboard basket. I asked if he had a container or cover and he placed it in a brown paper bag....with no cover still. Ok, cool, I guess. If you were taking your food close, I suppose that would suffice, but I'm going on a 15 minute car ride so I expected a little more in the portability department. (Also hospitals are filled with germs and sick people. So even if I was taking it back in there, I would want it to be covered up.) When i got home and dug in, naturally my food was cold. Despite that, I still ate it because I was hungry and I just paid 9 bucks for this meal. The bread was perfect, buttered and toasted. I could only imagine how great it would take if it was hot. The meat was good, although i would have liked it to have a little more seasoning/flavor. I'm not sure hoe you do that with the slaw, but it just felt like it was missing something. Maybe if i would've gotten some of the add-ons it would have had the flavor i was looking for. I will say that the kettle chips were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Overall, I thought it was a decent meal for a standard food truck price. There were about 7 or 8 food trucks, and after perusing them all Paddy Wagon had (1) some of the most friendly staff and (2) the burgers I couldn't stop thinking about. After a long debate between the chili burger and the taco burger - I went taco. How could I not? This was a competition for the most creative burger. The 2 patties were perfectly seasoned in taco deliciousness. What else is on this burger? Oh, normal things like sour cream, red onion, lettuce, and a CHEESE QUESADILLA WITH FRUIT SALSA!
