Bourbon - Glazed Brisket Tacos and Hummuscide
    Brianne C.

Paddy Wagon had a pretty long line during the Martina McBride concert at the Columbus Commons. But they kept the line moving, the food fresh, and for the amount of people they were serving it went fast. I ordered the Bourbon Braised Brisket Tacos, which was an order of 2. They were good, a bit messy. I also ordered the Hummuscide (hummus with pita and veggies) which I liked more. The veggies were cool and refreshing and the pita was warm with a bit of flavor. The ratio of hummus to veggies/pita was spot on.

I had the brisket. It was very good but pricey. I asked to leave the slaw off and add onion, peppers, mushroom. It was a $12 sandwich. They had to stop taking orders and the cashier helped prepare food before they took orders again. The wait was a little long. All in all it's a good food truck.

I stopped by this truck today. They were at my complex. They have a very small menu. I had the brisket tacos. The flavor was good, but the brisket was a little chewy. The other tenants seemed to really like the food. It doesn't bad, just not something I would seek out. The cook was more friendly than the order taker. I felt like he should have been more enthusiastic. He also couldn't answer questions about the menu to another customer. Overall it was okay.

Now that we've finally got some warm weather, Columbus Commons has brought back food truck Thursdays! I believe it begins at 11am and runs til 2 pm. I guess I'm not only reviewing Paddy, but food truck Thursday in general. I would highly recommend arriving before 1:30, as food trucks may run out of food, depending on volume. I noticed at least 3 trucks shutting down shop around that time. There were 10-12 trucks altogether. All 3 of us made a beeline for Paddy Wagon. I really wish they had a burger on their menu, but my bourbon glazed brisket tacos were delicious. I paid extra to add pineapple to mine, but I ended up picking them off. They were clearly canned, and had a strange flavor. I will ask for light slaw next time as well. A little too much. The meat and sauce had great flavor though! Just a bit of heat which I loved.

    Brisket sandwich. SO GOOD

The 15-hour slow smoked brisket is phenomenal. There was the exact right amount of spice and BBQ flavors. And the kettle chips are amazing! I kind of got ripped off on the chips (only received 7 little chips) and the fact that they were so good and I barely got any makes me sad. But for $7 total that sandwich alone was worth it. The wait time wasn't too bad, considering they are shredding the beef and toasting the bun fresh for you.

Paid $18 for two hot dogs and a can of soda, way too overpriced. Poor quality in food too.

Absolutely delicious. This is the 2nd I've gotten the Buffalo chicken wrap and it doesn't disappoint. Quick and so good.

We both got the fried chicken BLT, the spoon bread and mac & cheese. The spoon bread is simple corn bread, but it was really good. The mac & cheese was homemade and delicious. The sandwiches were outstanding and huge. My daughter and I could have split one between us. Instead, we brought two halves home. Not sure what this place used to be. High ceilings with barn beams and an old style post office mail box layout, like you might see in an old hotel. Regardless, would not hesitate to come back.

We actually got to the restaurant a little bit early and they ended up seating us outside, which was perfect. For food, I had the fried chicken sandwich with french fries and mac & cheese. My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich as well, so we each got a different side. The chicken was perfectly cooked without being overly greasy or oily. The french fries were delicious, and the macaroni and cheese was heavenly. Our server was very friendly and intensive to our needs. I felt like our food came out very quickly. Overall great time here and can't wait to come back. Love going to this place in Cincinnati as well, so I was very happy when they opened one up in Columbus.

We ordered the Wedge Salad and the Fire Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side Caesar Salad. The wedge was outstanding, topped with Nueske bacon, pickled red onions, crispy shallots, and tomatoes, with a delicious blue cheese dressing served on the side. The chicken sandwich was equally impressive, featuring aioli, thick-cut Nueske bacon, burrata, gem lettuce, and crispy ciabatta. The chicken was grilled perfectly, served thin and tender. And let's be honest -- everything is better with bacon. Service was excellent. Our server made great recommendations, the food arrived quickly, and the timing was perfect for making our show. Reasonable prices, great food, and a lively atmosphere. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

It looks and feels cool, and I can see why people would be drawn in. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match the atmosphere at all. I ordered the Tavern Burger and onion rings, while my friend got the crispy pork belly and a burger. The service was disengaged from the start, and the food timing was a mess. My burger came out first and was way overcooked. They had to take it back and remake it, which took so long that by the time my food finally arrived, my friend had already finished their entire meal. Everything just unraveled from there. The wait killed any chance of enjoying the meal together, and the burger (when it finally showed up) wasn't worth the wait. The vibe is nice, but between the poor service and the kitchen mishaps, nothing about this visit makes me want to return. Disappointing all around.

The Rail in Grandview Heights is one of the offerings for restaurants that have popped up since the development of Grandview Crossing. It is a welcome addition to the area and offers dining. That is a step up from simple casual or fast food. It has been my experience at this location. Reservations are not a necessity. However, I always recommend calling for reservations or making them online. A table reservation simply leaves less to chance. The staff are friendly and helpful and accommodating customer needs. All of my experiences here have been pleasant and high-quality.

My hubby ordered the Bootlegger burger with the BBQ sauce on the side, and I ordered the Bonfire burger; we also ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer. I used Toast to order and was given a 15 to 20 minute wait time. Once we pulled into the lot for the restaurant we saw that they had designated spots for takeout, so we pulled in. It isn't 100% clear on their sign if you need to call them when you arrive; there is a number listed on the sign but that's it. So I called them to let them know we had arrived and the young lady ran our food out to us. It was smooth and seamless and we headed home. All of the food was hot and delicious! Nobody can make a burger like The Rail!! They are a little pricey; with tip, it cost $57.00. But you get what you pay for! We will definitely order takeout from them again soon. Next time I think we will just run in and snag our order since they have a convenient side door marked "carryout" separate from the entrance. Super convenient!!
