I chose the grilled cheese option and swapped the soup for fries, and my mom got a Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap with fries. We also started with their breadsticks with Alfredo sauce. The establishment is clean and spacious. We dined in. The hostess and our server Amanda were absolutely attentive and friendly. She checked on us several times making sure we were good. We just sat down and we were handed a drinks. mine was half full, it's filthy the whole place, and my drink glass is sticky. Stay tuned for the meal... Always promptly seated at this location and the staff is very friendly and attentive. They are always well staffed also. Love that they change the menu often and have promotions. The chicken wonton tacos sound delicious in the menu, I got grilled chicken with cole slaw on top. No flavor whatsoever, no Asian sauce like it's supposed to have. She offers to take it back and get me new one. I'm thinking nooooooo, they will spit on my food! . So I request small side of sauce and I will pour on myself. Now it's better. Soda is free refills I had to chase her to get one. You got nerve charging extra to refill a lemonade that's all ice and little drink. I don't know how you screw up food that you just lay in a deep fryer, that's it's hard to do. Also should be fast when restaurant is fairly empty. Took waaay too long. Couldn't wait to finish food to get out of here. The best was trying to pay the check. There's an electron a kiosk on the table to pay for your check then and there without having to wait for your waitress to come. I was struggling to figure it out. It's been a long day, no a long week so when Mrs. E said "oh honey I have nothing at home for dinner we have to eat out". That's fine with me but I have a bunch of restaurant reviews to catch up on. Well after eating here, this place jumped to the head of the line. I've never been to this location but I've been pretty happy with other Applebee's I've eaten at. Seems like a newer menu from what I could tell. I ordered a 6 oz Sirloin with a half rack of ribs. Wife orders steak and shrimp. After our waitress leaves we notice a sign on the table that says " Free app if you're not offered any of five select alcohol drinks". So I politely flag down our waitress Bri, and first ask it they have bread for the table? Answer, no they don't do that. OK, "Now Bri since you didn't offer these special drinks, don't we get s free app"? Wait for this... her answer, oh that means if I don't offer it before I give you your bill. What? So at any time that I point out that I should get a fee app because you didn't offer this, as long as I didn't finish my meal completely and have my bill the deal is voided because now you'll offer it. WHAT A SCAM. Ok Michael, take a deep breath and move on. Ok Bri, we'll have the won ton app. Our meals come out but no app. Oh the food order went in before the app order. So you couldn't figure out to hold the food until the app was ready. I'm sure they're pre made, so stick them in a Salamander for a minute and bring them out. At this point I just want to eat and go home, but now the kid in the next booth is hanging over the seat and trying to touch our table. Parents pay attention to your kids. Don't get me wrong, I love kids. I have grandkids that I adore but when there out to dinner with us they behave and know not to bother other diners. Overall food was average at best, actually below average. We were SCAMMED by your PHONY offer, and had to be annoyed by someone's kid. I Came here around open time today and was in the mood for a early lunch. Upon arrival was well introduced and brought to a table immediately. I got to the table and decided to order there new mountain dew dark berry blast or whatever its called very sweet and somewhat flat. And for food i decided to go with the classic bacon cheeseburger with fries. The fries are well portioned and have a nice crunch to the bite and not to salty fries are definitely delicious hands down. Now the burger i ordered well done was well presented the bun is very greasy but the overall tase of the burger itself is phenomenal. Overall i am a little upset with the drink but the food is quit delicious. They definitely keep the place clean for sure very nice atmosphere. 3.5/5 read more

Applebee's is a fun place to be. Many teenagers and young adults hang out for half off apps after 10pm. It's very lively and busy with good decor and clean tables. Everyone always seems to be having a good time. However, the same can't be said for the waiters who work there. The last few times I went there, the waiters and waitress' who were working looked absolutely miserable. I can't explain over text, just how impactful it was but the place irradiated depression. I understand that working retail on a Friday night for a bunch of teenagers that give lousy tips isn't the most rewarding thing in the world, but I've worked retail myself and I was taught you have to act happy for the good of the customers. This seems like common sense, but apparently not. I don't know if the workers need more of a break, uplifting talks every month or better compensation but something needs to change because this place is not as happening as it used to be. As for the food? It's good but everything else could use some upgrading. read more

I wasn't sure what to order since it was a Togo order. So happy with what I did order. A big Tex chicken taco salad was my choice. Wow! It was so fresh and perfect. The sliced chicken on top was spicy and the greens with corn, shredded cheese, bean, tomato and onion in a perfectly crispy thick/light taco shell bowl was so delicious. It can with a heaping side of sour cream, guacamole and salsa. My husband and son ate in restaurant and had a great night out also. read more

Went on Saturday night for apps. Place was not as packed as it used to be a few years ago. It used to be MOBBED with teenagers. It seemed like a regular night. Service was awful. Worst I have ever experienced anywhere. Mainly because no one brought us waters, took our order, or asked if we were being helped. After 10 minutes, no one came to our table. There were surrounding tables on either side who were being taken care of but none of the waiters/waitresses asked if we were. It was clear we weren't since there wasnt even water. I had to get up to get the attention of one after 20 minutes of waiting with no service. She stated she went to the back and that our waiter/waitress was on break and that we'd get help in 10 minutes. Waited again, no one came and we left after waiting 30 minutes. Very confused as to why that employee wouldnt just give a helping hand to the missing employee or seat us somewhere else or simply just bring us water or get the manager. It is beyond me. I've never been so disappointed in an establishment before. Working at a restaurant is about team work. Any of the waiters helping the tables right next to us could've assisted or recognized. We ended up going to a different Applebees who took our orders and go our drink order within 3 minutes of being there. Miller Place Applebees is not the place to go to. Went to this Applebee's on Sunday at 4:15 pm Two staff members greeted me at door. Was taken to a high top in the bar. Waited 6 minutes. Was never acknowledged. Went back to the reception area and asked the same employee for a booth with waitstaff. Was told to take a seat in the waiting area for a few minutes while they waited for their employees to be ready. The restaurant had fewer that 15 people in it. No waitstaff but two employees standing conversing at the reception area. I left. Too many other good restaurants in the area. read more

A truly horrible Applebee's. The picture I posted is the American Macho cocktail or something of the sort. It's supposed to be a red white and blue frozen drink. It came out this horrible sewer green color with chunks of ice in it and bubbles on the top. I could get past the color if it tasted good but it was disgusting. We also ordered a Malibu bay breeze which was for some reason made with orange juice? The taco queso was like water and had no flavor. At other Applebee's locations it's been creamy and delicious. I usually try to stay away from chain restaurants but made my way into Applebees Saturday for lunch. My husband and I were seated immediately in the bar area and the bartender was our waitress. She came by right after we were seated for our drink orders and the long waits began. It took probably close to 10 minutes for our drinks (2 sodas), and then she came back for our orders. Understandably she was helping all of the other tables in the bar area as well as the people at the bar, but they should have sat people elsewhere. There were plenty of servers whose sections were not as full as hers, and we all received sub-par service due to it. Everything about this experience took a LONG time. Everyone around us received their food much before ours (even though we were the first to order, and had only ordered appetizers). The bartender had taken our food and drink orders, and quickly ran past the table after the food had come out to see how everything was, and then never returned. I sat at the table for 25+ minutes with no drink and empty plates waiting for the check. I just wanted to get the hell out of there at that point so I went to the bar myself for her to give me my check. She printed it, and then mistakenly took it to the back with her to grab someone else's salad who had been waiting, so I had to continue waiting. She never apologized for her lack of service or for how long everything took, and I left with a poor taste in my mouth. The hostesses need to be better trained on how to seat people (especially since the place wasn't that busy), and a quick "sorry for the wait" goes a long way. The food was exactly how I remembered it, and all came out correctly. It was the only thing that went well! read more

There are posters for someone on the lobby walls of a Firefighter that lives in Miller Place that was at ground zero. The nice part is, I've see him at the bar drinking. Traveled to Long Island and ate at the above Applebee's. Our waiter was Noah who turned out to be a winner. He was so attentive giving us options on the menu and just always being around if need be but not annoying. He made the dining experience so good. With the pandemic it was nice to actually go and eat out instead of ordering to go or a delivery. They followed all the guidelines. It was a very pleasant experience. You really can't go wrong with a meal for 2 for $29.99. Or they have other options. We ate two salads, and the bourbon shrimp and chicken with mashed potatoes and the ribs with fries and broccoli. Took my 2 years old there for lunch with me and we had a great time, the place was practically empty ( it was 2 pm) best time to go. Last night was "date night" and we went to this particular Applebee's with our toddler. We are used to the Applebee's chain and the last two times we went to different locations on Long Island the food was great. This time at this location was very different. We ordered half priced apps since it was late night. We got a Zombie brain blue cocktail, wonton chicken tacos, boneless buffalo chicken wings, brisket quesadilla, neighborhood beef nachos & kids meal combo deal. Every single thing we ordered was truly disgusting. My drink had no alcohol was entirely sugar and the gummy "brain" was rock hard. We both didn't want it. The boneless wings looked like a child's microwaved chicken nugget meal. The brisket quesadilla had very odd meat inside. I wasn't sure what it even was. The beef nachos came with chicken instead and it's the same tiny pieces of chicken that's in the wonton tacos. The wonton tacos were ok if the chicken was different. It was some shredded cabbage lettuce on top of tiny pieces of chicken. It needed something, anything else. The kids combo meal we got him chicken Alfredo that he wouldn't eat. It looked like they took it out of a microwave box and put it in a dish. The waitress didn't bring us our drinks, plates , our kids meal / drink or check but that's ok because she was a teenager. We realized she probably wouldn't get tipped by any of the kids here because of the food so we gave her a good tip anyway. The poor service is due to the entire staff hanging out behind the bar huddled together chatting. Idk who is cooking the food here but this has changed our view on the Applebee's establishment. Now I know why I haven't been to Applebee's in decades: the food is terrible, the service is mediocre and the place is dirty. We started out with a sticky table and sticky menus. Once our food was delivered, our waiter disappeared (except for when I tripped him to get the check). I had ordered a Lunch Combo with Four Cheese Mac + Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders and a Caeser Salad. I can safely say that this was the Worst Mac & Cheese I ever had. All I tasted at first was sugar on the mac. If I dug down deep enough, I found some mac coated in a cheese-like sauce. The "Chicken Tenders" were slivers of larger pieces of breaded chicken, containing mostly grrissley meat. I would have done much better getting my chicken across the street at MacD. I left hungry rather than finish this sub-par meal. I hope I learned my lesson about Applebee's now and steer clear of them forever. read more

I'll be brief: the horrible, spoiled-tasting food, indifferent service, nasty surroundings with torturously uncomfortable chairs, sticky menus, blaring music, TV in your face at every corner and grimy plates only served to underscore the fact that this is one of the worst 'restaurant' chains I have ever had the misfortune to visit. Not sure if she was very HOMOPHOBIC or just ignoring us, forgetting to ask us if we want food, forgetting to give us one of our drinks for at least 30 minutes and clearly being way more stand offish with us as opposed to the other customers who she was nice and attentive with. Alright so, you know when you place your drink orders and moments later you place your food order but your food comes out first? That's when Yelp comes in. Miller Place Applebee's has a communication issue for sure. What made it awkward for us as customers was when the waitress we had was running about 12 tables by herself, and then watching the manager hawk her every move. We'd see the waitress and then a second later the manager would "Check on us" to see how everything is. Meanwhile you can clearly tell the manager is just giving the waitress who is running around with her head cut off a hard time. Quick, someone get this poor girl some help. I actually felt bad ordering food and drinks. Something needs to be done there. Other then that, I honestly have nothing crazy to say about Applebees. You can honestly go to an Applebees in California and it will most likely be the exact same thing but just with Palm trees in the background. They have good deals for the food keeping entrees on the low cost side which is always a plus. The objective of this post is to target in on the Miller Place location more then Applebees as a chain. Went in with my daughter tonight to celebrate her making honor roll and we had a very sweet waitress named Hope , not every server treats our table the same cause they know they will make more money off of others. I totally understand and it's happened many times at this very restaurant but it's my daughter's favorite so we keep going back but rarely. She treated us just like everyone else and I appreciated that. Didn't ignore us made sure everything was good , everything came out in a timely manor and hope was just an awesome server.
