In my 30+ years of using credit cards I had the numbers & the EIN (the three digits on the back of the card) stolen three times. This happened within a nine month period & there was only common merchant. The only time I ever allow my credit card out of my hand is & was at restaurants & NJ gas stations. The gas stations attendants don't disappear from my sight with my card for five to ten minutes. One card was an emergency one I used because another one was cancelled & being replaced. I used the emergency card only FIVE times before it was compromised. Of the five times I used the card, three were at self service gas stations, once @ the West Point PX, & at this Applebee's. The thieves used my credit card number to make online purchases in Manhattan or for delivery to Putnam County. I now photograph the EINs, make a list of all of them with the card issuing company/ bank and, then I scratch the number off the back of the card. read more

This was the shittiest experience here ever. Our server Olivia took 20 minutes to come and take our order meanwhile the place was empty and I saw her hanging around the hostess stand. She also gave two straws for 4 drinks, so we had to wait 20 minutes to drink our drink as well. My husband decided to order off the little computer they keep at each table. She got annoyed we ordered off of it and then proceeded to blame my husband for the wrong salad she brought out. His burger and fries weren't hot and neither was my daughter's Mac n cheese. The manager took off a few things from our bill, but the experience was just awful. The waitress started giving us an attitude like it was our fault she was being a shitty waitress!! From looking at the other reviews, I'm not the only one that feels this way, but this restaurant is hit or miss. The food, 85% of the time, comes out exactly how I like it. I always get their boneless wings, and their quesadilla burger. It's always tasty, but I don't really get anything else from there to compare. My wife ordered a steak from here once. I don't know what she was thinking, as we never order steaks from anywhere but an actual steakhouse, but when it came out like an off white color. It almost looked like a pork chop. I'm not sure why the runner or quality control would let that off the line. When we complained to our server, they just told us that's how the steak is. We were both grossed out by the look of it, and then finally *we* called over the manager. The fact that our server didn't do that was beyond us. On top of that, there were plenty of times that we've had issues with their service. The usual complaints (slow service, having to ask different servers for the same thing, appetizers coming out too late, then our meal comes out a minute or 2 later, etc) but the one issue that comes to mind more than anything: Now mind you, this was a couple of years ago, before they came out with their new payment system where you pay at the table. We came here for Happy Hour appetizers one evening. We asked the server if it included to go, which she said yes. So we ordered a bunch our appetizers, and then I asked her to bring the other 2 we wanted to go, out whenever. I was just gonna bring them home to my wife, because she couldn't make it to the restaurant. Among the EXTREMELY slow service, and missing drinks, and 1 missing entree, when the bill came out, she had charged us full price on the 2 appetizers. When, 15 minutes later, she came around again to collect the bill, I showed her we were charged wrong, she said "oh I'm sorry, I'll get my manager to fix that for you". 10 minutes later, she comes back "I'm sorry, but Happy Hour doesn't include to go orders". So the waitress told us yes, then said no. I wouldn't have ordered 2 appetizers if that were the case. The manager didn't come out to apologize, or correct the bill. The kicker - this was almost 30 minutes after we received our bill. Then we were ready to pay, just to get out of there. My friends had a movie to catch, and I had a hungry wife at home. We had our card in there, and after ANOTHER 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take our bill, we couldn't wait any longer. We scrounged up just enough cash that we had in our pockets to pay the bill, unfortunately not enough to tip the waitress. As someone who used to be a server, I would NEVER not tip, and it wasn't my intention, but we had no choice. We left and even wrote a note on the bill about the management needing work. Management called me a few days later, and I asked if they could call me back at a later time after work, and they never did. My final take: If you order safe (Apps, burgers, etc) and you order take out/curbside, you'll probably have no issue. They've gotten better with their service since my incident, but it's still has its problems. Order take out, and you'll probably be fine. read more

I made a To Go Order from my favorite place, Applebee's in Mohegan Lake. I was excited to see the .25 cent wings were available. I couldn't have been more happy. As usual the staff was amazing and the wings were great! I feel confident to order take out from them because not only is the food great, but I know they are taking the upmost care in safety, everyone was wearing gloves and following safety protocol. You can't be too careful now a days and I know I was in good hands. I would absolutely continue to order from this restaurant again, as I said before Applebee's is my favorite place, you can't go wrong there! read more

I have been coming here for a long time. The last few visits have been acceptable, however, it has gone downhill fast. For example, the customer service from certain servers has been poor. They're often rude and don't properly tend to. There are only a few that I felt handled things well. A man with gray button up and a woman with tattoos and her hair in a bun (I wish I could remember their names). As for the meals, everything seemed fine until me and my girlfriend noticed that our Four Cheese Mac and Cheese was missing its honey pepper sauce, which is arguably the best part of the meal. Also, one thing to keep in mind is, if you want something off menu from the 2 For 22 deal there is often some backlash when you're ordering in-house. I have done online orders from this location through the app, and it always allows me to order any meal under the 2 For 22 deal. When in-house, you will most likely have to outside of this deal, which comes out to more than $85 for two. Might as well order online and eat at home. read more

We ordered the boneless wings which wete as hard as a rock and not wings at all but plain old chicken nuggets that were over salted and way too much batter. This Applebees amazes me... Let me tell you why... Ahem, this Applebee's is very busy, even during the week! I mean like waiting for a table busy. Why? I admire that they are very community conscious and involved. I think that's it? It's not the food or the service. What makes people come here? Went here for a birthday with a group of about 12, they weren't able to accomdate 1 table so our party has to sit at 2 tables. I ordered the bourbon street chicken & shrimp w potatoes. The shrimp was great but very little, chicken was dry I didn't taste the bourbon & they served w a "your potatoes will come out soon" I did request the sauce on the side and it just had no flavor(i was thinking the bourbon sauce like in the chinese places in malsl). I patiently waited for my potatoes but after 5 mins I asked in case they forgot, which I waited another 5 mins for. They were excellent but very little portion. Its self abuse, you're better than that. The food is microwaved fresh and has all the appeal of a used sanitary napkin. The severs seem strung out. The portions are horrendous. You could get a more fulfilling meal from McDonalds. If you're thinking about drinking at the bar save the trouble and buy a rack of bud lite and sit at home watching Fox News. The food was tasty, what one would expect from an Applebee's. The restaurant was understaffed. Our waiter Walter did the best he could considering that he seemed to be the only person attending the tables. However the hostess Jenn was extremely rude and very unpleasant. She shouldn't be allowed to talk to people as she speaks to them like they are beneath her. Even Walter who was stressed and over worked was very friendly and courteous. I am extremely patient but will not tolerate disrespect. Generally underwhelming. Four of us were there for an early dinner. Our waitress was pretty efficient, but lacked any sort of personality. "Are you ready to order?", "What can I get for you?"...not terrible, just not welcoming or especially friendly or helpful. The spinach dip appetizer was tasty, but a very small portion for the price. Entrees were good. We found ourselves commenting critically about small things that a good, friendly waiter/waitress would have compensated for. Food was ok. My wife loved her burger. Convenient place. Nice beer selection. Prices are OK. Special combos are probably a good deal if you take the time to figure them out or if your waitress took the time to explain anything. Not what we expected. From the minute we were seated, the inexperience with the staff and lack of training was evident. We were dumped off into our seats and no one came to our table for 10 minutes to greet us and welcome us to the "Neighborhood Grill". After waiting for over an hour for our food, they only brought the kids items and said the other meals would be right out...20 minutes went by and our server actually came to the table to ask how everything tasted!! When he realized we did not receive our meals, he said he was sorry and he would go check what happened!! When he returned, my meal was correct and they brought my wife the meal from the table next to ours and he explained that he was new and is really nervous...he would go and rush the food out for my wife. I waited to start eating my dinner for two reasons...Firstly i was trying to be polite and patient with my wife....Secondly, only the kids had place settings!!!
