I'm not a fan of Crapplebees as a general rule. My stepdaughter picked it and I am a go with the flow type so here we went. I'll be frank, I was not super jazzed going in. The service here was really good. The nacho appetizer with chicken was decent. A bit of a delay on it but we were busy catching up so it was not an issue at all. It had plenty of toppings and was piping hot but somehow was nothing special. My husband was super impressed with his brunch burger. Not my type of thing but he liked the over hard egg and crispy potato toppings. I went with a burger with bacon, pepperjack cheese, crispy onion straws and bbq sauce. The burger was bland but the toppings made up for it. Not too gloppy but a really nice mix of extras. Lorynn had the same and enjoyed it. Service is slow and very rude employees. Food is not worth the long wait times. Restaurant itself has a bad mold smell. Dust covers many surfaces. They don't know how to clean bathrooms. Bottom of the toilets are nasty. Has to be the worst store in the whole chain. read more

Food was fine, we had fish & chips, and half-rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was served hot, no problems there. We've always had good food and good service here. Today we went in for lunch and it was as good as ever. You can't go wrong with their lunch combos. I had the grilled club and loaded potato soup. Both were excellent. Deb had the 4 cheese mac and cheese with a chicken strip and tomato basil soup. She said they were very good also. Not sure if I'm spelling her name right, Shounae, I think, was very pleasant, very attentive, very knowledgable, and very sweet. I would try to sit in her area again. read more

I've gone to this CRAPplebee's twice since moving to Pittsburg. The service is not only slow, but the servers and wait staff are more concerned with big parties than small tables. In addition to the service, the hostess, who I assume is in high school or on some kind of immature power-trip, rudely asked my friend "What are you doing here?" when we returned to the restaurant, not even thirty minutes since we had left, to get her keys that she mistakenly left. Not only did they take more than fifteen minutes to get our drinks, after we had sat down, but they took an additional forty-five minutes after we got our drinks to get our food AND the check out to us, because they were more concerned with the bigger party, which was next to our table, and didn't care to ask if we wanted the check or clear the table. The worst part of this restaurant was the utter lack of accountability, and how the staff was unfriendly, rude, and frankly hostile- and made more than one mix up with orders from separate tables and ours. The bare minimum that this restaurant could do is have timely staff that are POLITE to customers, and not act as if each customer was an inconvenience. read more

The establishment is not busy what so ever and even saw waiters/waitresses standing around just talking. The tables are pushed together making it hard to enjoy a meal with someone and was not allowed to spread them apart and sit between them as it "poses to much risk being closer to other guests" when I was no where close to anyone. We had have gone there several times to eat and we don't appreciate the manager talking about us getting our food for free we are very well known in the public eye. The last several times our steak our not done like we asked them to be and asked them to take them back and redo them the right way. And what are you guys going to do about it. It has been happening to many times to count for us what are you going to do about the manager we think we should have got more then what he had done for us. Had bad service with untrained people that didn't know the menu at all. The waitress spilt our drink and messed up our drink orders 2 times. Then she didn't know what we are ordering because she was unfamiliar with the menu. She said several times that a meal was not on the menu and was discontinued. We asked her to ask the chief because it was on the menu and was unreluctant to do so at first. And her shirt as well was a low cut black shirt with her breasts out. That is inappropriate due to the fact that this restaurant is supposed to be a family establishment. Very disappointing! However the food was good. read more

I had the lighter side "Grilled Onion Steak", with potatoes in a Stout gravy- everything was perfectly cooked and delicious and served in good order. I was more in the mood for soup for an appetizer before that so I had French onion soup, I'm not sure why I wanted onions but it was all delicious. Kelsi is the name of the server who seemed to be manning the bar while also attending tables in the area, although another server brought my food and a manager stopped by just to make sure everything was OK and to clear a plate away. Some Applebee's may be better managed than others as in any chain, but this seems to be one of the better ones. I would go there again. New menu is an improvement as well. read more

Employees are eating and not helping guests. 1 server was great. Disappointed I didn't get placed in his section. My server seemed upset to be at work for the day, maybe not a good day for her. My food- club sandwich and fries. Let's just say not the most appetizing meal I've had. Bread was soggy, meat was half cold. The fries were stale and semi warm. Multiple times I've gone there, the food has been great, but the dishes however haven't been so great. We first noticed that our cups had dirtry stains on them and food stuck to the outside of them, we talked to our server(Brandon) and he brought us new cups, but they were also dirty. Then our plates came and every one of them (6 plates) had some sort of food or whatever stuck to the bottom and rim of eat plate. Arrived at Applebee's noon on 30 May 2016 for a perfect lunch. It was far from perfect. Order was simple 2diet sodas, boneless wings, bean soup, 4 cheese mac, and baby back ribs with sweet potato frys. The soup was destroyed by cook, we were told, so order change to lettuce wedge. Wings came out very late, cold and crust was soggy, not good. No lettuce yet. Next came mac and cheese for wife and my ribs. Ribs could not be cut easy and would not pull away from bone using hands. They were dry, cold and tough. Back they went. Still no lettuce wedge. By now my perfect lunch was out the windows and did not feel I would do any better with another order because people next to us having issues also. Decided to cut our loss and ended up with 35 dollar bill for less than reasonable food. Not going back, this is third time been burnt by same Applebee's, but always gave them reasonable doubt and tried again, not this time. read more

So, I'm going to preface this review by saying that after this experience I will no longer patronize any Applebee's restaurant ever again. The service was terrible, our waiter was inattentive and came to the table 4 times, once to take our drink order, once to take our food order, once to ask if we wanted dessert and once to drop off the check. That's it, never bothered to ask how the food was or if there was anything else we needed, however he paid plenty of attention to the 2 cute blonde college girls sitting across the aisle from me, stopping at their table every few minutes throughout the course of their meal and literally walking right past me without even looking on countless occasions. I ordered a Long Island Iced tea, which tasted fine however it took almost 30 minutes from when I ordered it for it to get to the table. Now for the food, I got the 12 oz. top sirloin steak for $19. It was the WORST steak I have ever had. They say that it is hand cut in the kitchen, the problem with that is that the chef clearly doesn't understand how to cut meat. My steak was cut with the grain of the meat. As a result, even though I ordered it rare, it was stringy and had the consistency of shoe leather. Flavor was nonexistent, and the meat was seriously overcooked but oddly enough it was also cold. It took an exceptionally long time to get our food. The garlic mashed potatoes didn't taste like garlic and needed copious amounts of salt and pepper to be edible, same with the garlic green beans, no garlic flavor, just plain green beans with bacon on top. So, back to the beginning, I will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. Terrible food and even worse service. If I'm paying for a $20 steak I'll buy a porterhouse from the store and cook it at home next time. read more
