Tonight we tried Applebee's again. Very nice waitress and we ordered the 2 for $22.00 deal which gives you a side salad each. My salad comes and I take a couple bites of lettuce then I notice something about the size of a finger under the lettuce towards the bottom of the bowl. It appears flour coated so I say to my wife what is that! I fork it and cut it in half and it is a piece of raw chicken tucked under the lettuce. We call the waitress over and she was appalled with it and took the salad to show the Manager. The Manager comes out to say there is no excuse and was going to yell at the kitchen staff. How does a 3 inch piece of raw chicken get put into a side salad?? The Manager felt bad and took my meal off because it was disgusting. Probably never going to Applebee's again. read more

I have only one other issue - and it's more with the chain than this specific location. Applebee's has a very, IMHO, perplexing habit of repeatedly changing its menu - sometimes several times a year - and eliminating some of their dishes just as they are getting a following. While I'm all for variety, it seems like I just begin to enjoy a dish when the remove it from the menu. Just a few examples: I loved their veggie patch pizza, the various varieties of the fajita roll up, and the fajitas themselves. All have been eliminated, with only one variation of the fajita roll up has returned (chicken). I'm sure this is a corporate decision - but it is a very confusing one for the consumer, and one that means this particular patron doesn't eat here as much as he once did. read more

This was our 3rd visit to Applebee's in Port Huron in the past year. The food is getting worse, and this time our server (Michael N.) just took the cake. We were 5 people coming in for Lunch and he just did his best to ignore us, while socializing with the other servers. 2 of us had the SOUTHWEST SHRIMP FETTUCCINE and it had a good amount of shrimp on it, but was very greasy. BOURBON STREET CHICKEN & SHRIMP was great. THREE-CHEESE CHICKEN PENNE was very greasy as well, and the HAND-BATTERED FISH & CHIPS were okay. The food arrived fast, even though the restaurant was crowded. Considering what we paid for our food, we will look for friendlier alternatives next time we visit Port Huron. read more

Food is okay. I did not like the service the one time I ate on Memorial Day Weekend. My group of people and I waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and then have to eat cold food. Things are going downhill for this restaurant. If they can't get their management in gear, then this will be another Blue Water business casualty. read more

Relatively fast service considering to day was Cinco de Mayo. Delicious nachos and quesadillas. The food here on other days has always been good, but sometimes tasteless. Service also had not been kind. One time our waitress forgot we were there and we had to wait thirty minutes for the appetizer. Other than that experience, everything has been average. read more

Working in the area from out of state and I got out very late and arrived at 10:30 to find the doors locked when the (Covid) hours said 11:00. Hung out outside for about 10 minutes trying to find an open restaurant when someone came out so I went in and they let me know they were open for 5 more minutes but since they were slow (easily 20+ people in the restaurant) they had locked the doors to get a start on cleaning. Maybe because I worked at Applebees for the better part of a decade so I may be being a bit harsh but where I worked you took customers right up to close and even a little after (even though people coming in 2 minutes before close drive me nuts). It's just pure laziness- lost my business. read more

I went here for a night cap drink for my Girlfriends birthday with her sister and her boyfriend. We sat down and ordered a round of drinks and waited over a half an hour while watching the staff including the bartender spend time on their phones and chat amongst each other the entire time. We ended up leaving money for the one root beer we had been served along with a tip out of generosity because that's what you are supposed to do regardless. Severely disappointed because we usually frequent the establishment for food 2-3 times a month. Great place to eat around dinner time but we will not be returning later in the evening again. read more

Not sure if I will return. My family and I spent two hours in the restaurant for dinner! It was ridiculous! Our server kept apologizing for the wait but that didn't really explain why people in her section that were sat way after us got their food way before us. We were at the restaurant for over half an hour before our order was even taken! My husband ordered no cheese on his salad, it arrived with cheese and nobody came back to check it so he had to pick all the cheese off, my steak managed to be pink yet dry, it was one of the worst steaks I have ever had. Tasted metallic and had zero seasoning on it. The divider between our table and the other table was covered in dust, and as a guy was clearing the table next to us, a dirty straw falls out of a glass and onto my mom's shirt leaving a spot! This was the worst experience I've had in a long time, I'm assuming they were short handed, but I still did not enjoy my food or the length of time I was there. read more

Atmosphere is friendly that's it's highest point. I've never got good service and feel the entrees aren't nearly worth the price. Serving alcohol is a plus but I feel more like they emphasize the alcohol sales rather than the food offerings at this location. Billed as a restaurant run like a bar that serves food. I've gone here about 10 times. And every time the food is gross. Usually it's either, cold, watery, over cooked or under cooked. I used to have friends who worked here. Told me most the stuff is frozen and pre packaged. Even the steaks. And that's a problem cause no one can cook a steak right if frozen. I dread getting gift cards from this place. Much rather go to a local diner vs this franchise hunk of crap. Hate hate hate. I could go into much more detail but that's alot of writing I have ahead of me. read more

This is the worst place in Fort Gratiot. A friend and I arrived for lunch, no one greeted us. We were sat after 5 minutes by a very rude hostess. Another 15 minutes no server came to our table to explain the self serve device on table. There were at least 5 servers on the floor, 3 of which passed our table several times. After 20 minutes we walked out to a " Have a nice day ". I would not recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever go back. If I could post without a star ( but cannot ), I would. read more

Hostess greeted us with a friendly smile. After that, not so good. Our server took our drink order in a timely matter. Zombie was good. Then he went to continue his conversation with a couple two booths away. Had to wave him over to take our food order. He went back to chat with the other couple. Took a long time for our food. Waved him over to order more drinks, he held up his finger, like wait a minute. Finally took our order and brought our drinks. Waved him back over for dipping sauce. All in all we wouldn't go back. Overpriced mediocrity pummeled into your brain by a relentless advertising campaign. There's nothing special about it. I've never had a dish at any Applebee's that left me thinking, "I should go back again just to have that." If you do, then I suggest you learn how to cook... or take the time to examine other restaurants. They're not awful like they're not worth exploring. read more

Went here for dinner last night with my mom. The Artichoke Dip at Applebee's is very tasty. Had the Grilled Chicken Breast with the Bacon Beer Cheese Topper with Steamed Broccoli and the Fire Grilled Veggies. The beer cheese on the chicken breast tasted really good. The service at this location is very consistent and the prices are very reasonable for anyone that is on a budget especially the 2 for $20. Would come here again in the future. read more
