We Usually have a good experience at Applebee's. it's normally our spot but, this location here deffinetaly failed at providing decent service. We were told there was a 30min wait and it took say 45min. Okay sure we are hungry whatever, The hostess seemed to let about 5 parties leave before she started seating people again, once we were finally seated, 10 minutes had passed and we still hadn't seen a server for a drink order (mind you it wasn't busy) , at that point we honestly just left. I am not a picky customer by any means Ive worked in food & beverage for years but this was unacceptable. It seems this location fails to provide good customer service and perhaps because they do get plenty of traffic they might not care. Just a heads up. read more

My friends and I visited Applebee's at 10 pm on Tuesday for their Happy Hour. We came for cheap appetizers and drinks, but we were only satisfied with the appetizers. The customer service was okay. Our waiter took a bit long to come to our table every time we wanted to order something. Also when we asked her questions she would only address one of our questions and disregard the others. The appetizers were good. The happy hour menu consists of half of the regular appetizer menu, but at half off! The drinks however were not good. I ordered two of the Strawberry Dollaritas, and by my second glass I had to stop drinking halfway through. They gave a Twizzlers straw which was the best part of the drink. The alcohol was noticeable which we didn't mind, but the drink overall tasted really cheap. I am not sure what juice they paired it with, but it was not a delicious pair. My friend and I also ordered the Peach and Cherry Sangria. The glasses were huge and the drinks were very delicious, but the alcohol was not present. We were both sure that they forgot to add any or just added a drop. The only good part of these drinks were that they were very cheap. I ordered two dollar margaritas and a sangria glass for a little less than $9. I would not recommend Applebee's for happy hour. The service is not stellar, the drinks either taste bad or don't have alcohol. However, I did enjoy the food and cheap price. read more

I know it's been more busy due to covid and the abundance of people wanting to dine in and curbside etc. I ordered curbside and showed up 10 minutes before it was to be ready. I phoned the restaurant and let them know I was outside. They couldn't find my name or order first off, so I checked the order details. I called back and a different person was rude about it and hung up on me. 5minutes later a girl came out to bring somebody's order and I asked her about my order. This was about 15 minutes after my Order was ready mind you, she goes inside and comes right out with my order. I check the food right there and it's cold like it was sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. The steak was burnt and the fries were cold and gross, waste of $50 come on now get it together Applebee's. read more

I have never seen a more mismanaged restaurant rooted in racism. On the night of July 30th an argument between two patrons broke out around 9pm ish. One party called the other party a racial slur and the other party rightfully told them that was racist and to stop saying it. The whole thing escalated. Now, both parties were screaming, cussing, and threatening each other. At that point, BOTH parties should have been kicked out. But management only kicked out the party that was initially called the racial slur?? The other party was apologized too? My party left afterwards as this was very obviously racially charged, with most of the restaurant on the side of the party who hurled the first racial slur. It was absolutely disgusting to watch. You cannot, in the face of hate speech as a business side with one party over the other. Both parties broke the restaurant conduct rules, both should have been asked to leave. The managers on duty that night need to be fired. I wouldn't be surprised if a lawsuit came out of this. read more

I came in for an interview to work at this place. The hostess greeted me and seemed friendly. It took no time for me to start talking to the manager. Everything seemed like it was going well. However, the manager informed me that I would have to speak to all 3 of their managers in order to get the job. I was confused as to why I had to do this. We then scheduled a second interview for me the next day. I come back the next day and asked the host to talk to the manager for an interview. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, another manager comes out looking super confused. Apparently, he didn't know I had an interview? He goes to the back and comes back. He explains to me that they had a few candidates before me, so they wouldn't be giving me an interview. I was extremely confused and frustrated because I took the time to commute to this place just for them to turn me down. There was no communication between the managers. If you're not hiring, just tell me! Beware of this place. All they do is waste your time waiting just for nothing to happen. We had to go to Applebee's because our home is having outrages The guy who was the host, told us it will take 15-20 minutes... we asked if we could seat ourselves at the bar area. He said yes. So we gladly found a table in the bar area. So we sat down and starting to order. Waited for a few minutes ... the same guy came and told us that we can't seat here because it's reserved for the party. Which forced us to move to the BAR seats. There are plenty of available tables around and why forced us to seat at the bar or wait 25 mins for a table. Not a deaf friendly table! We almost lost our appetite. How rude. We decided to come in for a quick drink an dinner. I have to say it was very busy. But we were sat very quick (less then 5 mins) then we ordered an Appetizer and that actually came out Fairly quickly. My husband and I both order drinks and I have to say My drink was Delicious. Worst management!!! Extremely rude staff. We waited twice as long as they told us ( and we were patient) after an hour we asked if we could get seated separately if needed. The waitress immediately complained because she was serving too many people(they only had 2 waitresses). Went to lunch with my dad and brothers today Sunday January 29 at 11 when they opened for the all you can eat special. Waited for our server to take our drink order for about 10 minutes then another 5-10 minutes to come back with our drinks. We placed our orders one which was the breaded shrimp waitresses said they were out. We ordered the boneless chicken wings and the riblets. The waitress never came back to ask if we wanted anymore of all the eat special we had to go ask for that and for some more drinks. I saw the ad for endless ribs and chicken strips (you can mix and match) appetizer and decided it was the choice for a hot Saturday in Riverside, not to mention it is less than two miles from home. Although I never had ribs cut the way these were, with the small disc bones they were meaty and had good flavor. I ordered a second plate of ribs as the waitress sat the first one on the table (really it was at her suggestion), so there wouldn't be a delay in my pigging out. Sat at the bar and waited 15 mins to be greeted, another 15 to put orders in. Got endless boneless chicken and 12 oz steak. Food was okay, standard Applebee's flavors. Chicken was not dry and the Asian chile flavor was good, sweet and a little spicy. The medium steak came with mashed potatoes and broccoli but everything on this plate tasted like the chef forgot salt. The refill on the chicken never came after a 20 min wait so we asked for the check. At this point, the restaurant was pretty empty but bartender forgot whether she brought the check. Overall, food is good as expected for Applebee's but I don't recommend bar seating. read more

Upon getting here we were greeted right away. Sat at our table with no wait. When we sat down the booth was wet (where you sit) I was okay with it though because it wasn't soaked. Petie came over and took our order from us. She was very thorough and even repeated what we ordered. No when the food came out it was a different story. I was very disappointed. The place was very busy, the night before Thanksgiving! The food was good but we sat at the bar, tables were 1/2 hour wait. Simple things like napkins and ketchup impossible to get! The bartender was good and working as fast as she could, but she had no help with cleanup and getting her clean glasses. Our order was messed up but they fixed it. Too busy trying to upsell the specials. Didn't want them! Simple! We will not be going back and the city of Riverside really needs to work on restaurants. Very disappointed! read more

I'm giving a one star review only because zero stars was not an option. It was one of the worse experiences I've ever had. The restaurant was filthy. The table we were seated at was filthy and the server (Ashley) was rude and had a bad attitude. Then the food finally came and the side dish I ordered, and agreed to pay extra for as it was an upgrade, was inedible. The onion rings tasted like fried fish, bad fried fish. And when I asked the server to let the kitchen know I was ignored. Also , the manager on duty that Friday (01/26/24) was oblivious to how bad the food and the service was. Tried the "curbside to go" service since I was offered $5 off a purchase of $25 or more. There was 4 visits to my car.....(1) To greet me and go over my order, and collect payment (although I paid online)...(2) Bring me the receipt for the unknowingly payment I made online....(3) Bring my food...(4) Bring my drink, that was forgot about on visit #3. When I did "to go" at another restaurant, they came out with my food and my receipt for me to sign and I was on my way. Took them a fee minutes to come to take our drink order and we had already order food on their table device and finally the bartender came to take our drink order which she forgot one out of 4 drinks lol if you can't handle to remember 4 simple drinks for 1 minutes while you go back to your bar I suggest you WRITE it down or stop talking to people so you can get a simple 4 drink order correct! Then they were out of pretzels but magically they found some more but only to get them to our table 45 minutes after we order them, we are talking about pretzels here (45 minutes to heat up 4 pretzels sticks) bartender never did the basic 2 minutes table check to make sure we got our order complete till we were literally done with our food and FINALLY the pretzels showed up to out table, manager came up to blame a 19 seat table for the 45 minute delay on the pretzels, we were ready to pay and leave and of course they didn't charged their table devices enough to last a full shift so the device turned down while taking our payment, manager brought a second device only to also be out of battery, this place is a total joke run by the main clown or incompetent Manager, bartender knew her service was mediocre so she offered us water or a refill on my root beer to go jaja I needed that refill when I was eating my food not to enjoy it on my way back home, didn't get her name but it was the heavy set girl working the bar tonight, my advice is less chatting with one couple at your bar and do your job right, of course we will never go back to this location and I will advise the same unless you want mediocre food and service. read more

Ordered the 2 for $25 with my boyfriend - we both got the half rack of ribs, fries, side of veggies, and Caesar salad appetizer. Portion size of the salad was generous. However, the ribs I received were partially burnt to the point where the meat was dry and lost their tender texture. The ribs my boyfriend received were perfectly fine and tender. Otherwise, fries were decent and veggies weren't overly seasoned. This Applebee's location is tough to access. Although I'm familiar with the downtown area, I needed to use GPS to navigate the immediate one-way streets. read more

I went with my wife for dinner this past Sunday. When we arrived, we were told by the hostess that it would be 45 mins, which was fine. However, while waiting, a party of 5 came in after 6 or 7 additional guests. It was a party of 5 for a Yolanda, and they were told the same wait time. Well, I guess that party knew a Maria, who seemed to be a supervisor/manager, and that manager made sure to overlook the rest or us that were waiting so she could "hook them up." She was able to coordinate a table for them with the rest of the staff while the rest or us waited. That was extremely unprofessional. I am not difficult to please - particularly when it comes to food. But my experience with Applebee's this evening compelled me to write this review. I called my order for pick-up at 5:09 pm. The person who took my order was very nice. I asked what time I should be there to pick-up my order. She said to come on in and my order would be ready. She didn't ask where I lived. I got there at 5:15. I live very close to the restaurant. I waited about 25 minutes before I had contact with anyone. The person came out to my car, with my order in hand. She took my payment and was gone for about 10 minutes. When I got home I discovered there was no cocktail sauce for the shrimp I ordered; the ice cream to go with my brownie was completely melted; and the shrimp and French fries were cold and soggy. I would like to start off by saying I have been a resident in Riverside for 6 years my experience with Applebee's when I first got here was horrible where I checked the reviews and they were at 2 stars and that would be 2017. I decided to come back years later just because it's convenient. Not far from my residence and I was blown away with the management team Kat, Crystal and I think Darrell with Kat being the head coach took this restaurant to a whole new different level to the point where I have made this a tradition to eat at Applebee's every Friday with my beautiful family that I have been blessed with.
