Years and years ago Applebee's was actually quite enjoyable. There would be a line waiting to get seated and there would be exceptionally long waits on weekend nights. The food wasn't all that bad, not a 5 star dining experience, but serviceable. Fast forward and this is one dining chain that has gone down hill over time. Service isn't as good as it once was, I guess that comes from the limited dining choices that are this type of food in the area. The food is 'ok' at best. They do run some good specials and you can get quite a bit of food for a pretty small cost, but for me it's just really not worth it anymore. If you aren't familiar, they have steak, seafood and chicken dishes and cover a broad range of nationalities for how the food is prepped. Apps are typical bar food apps and they have a pretty extensive list of drinks you can get from the bar. All in all for me I'd opt for somewhere else. read more

I've served for about 5 years, and I completely understand and being busy. The bar wasn't that busy, with seats still open. I've never acknowledged a new table that sat down, and then ignored them for 15 minutes while I give everyone else their 2nd and 3rd drinks. At least drop a water to show you care. Had to interrupt the manager chilling and laughing with the girls there to let him know I'd be going elsewhere. Last time I was here, the bartender was great and I enjoyed the food! I haven't been to Applebee's in awhile. It is always a sure bet on the food scale. I love to get the Oriental chicken salad. So this is what I ordered cuz it sounded so good. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I remembered it being. I'm not sure why, but it did have a lot more of the torn lettuce in it. I enjoyed it even so and will possible try it again someday. I think different locations are better than others and this was our first time at the one in Roseburg. My husband said the ribs were fair ( not as good as mine!). I spoil him. So me and my girlfriend went out to dinner,and two people got sat two minutes before us and they Ordered eight and paid unleft before me and my girlfriend got our food and then a group of five people Got seated about 5 minutes after us and got their food the forest paid and left before we got our food. The service was not great. The waiter was rude when my girlfriend was asking about the cheese on the nachos which find it was and whether the tortilla chips were corn or flour. I ordered dinner from Applebees through DoorDash. My order included two drinks, a peach lemonade and a pomegranate iced tea. The drinks I received were both tea, which I cannot drink. DoorDash only offered me a $1.25 credit for my $4.79 undrinkable drink, so I called the restaurant. They are emailing me a $5.00 gift card but that won't do me much good since I'm passing through and don't live near an Applebees. Overall horrible experience! Started by waiting in my car @ the curbside pickup. After about 10 minutes of not even being acknowledged, I rang the bell. After another 7 minutes cane my order minus the drink, no biggie. Once home, I realized that I made a huge mistake! The appetizer chicken wonton tacos were a complete mess, overloaded with dressing & soggy. Yuck! As a main course, I ordered loaded potato soup, and was given cold broccoli cheddar. Then, I tried the whiskey bacon burger. Patty was soft & pink in the middle, not well done as ordered. The bun was completely dry on one side, and the bacon flacid/undercooked. Ordered takeout using their online ordering system yesterday (a Thursday night). I showed up on time to pick up the order but still had to wait an additional 40 mins for them them to complete the order. It was only 2 entrees and a kids meal. The food was not warm, by the time I got it. the ice cream was completely melted, and I had to remind them to give me my drink and cutlery. When I got back and opened the food container, I saw that they forgot to put the chicken in my chicken salad! Such a disappointing experience. Really wish I could give them zero stars. Visiting the beautiful town of Roseburg I needed a take out dinner. I ordered the ribeye medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was the only thing that tasted decent. The steak was so tough I was unable to chew it. I could barely cut it with a knife. I do not understand how you mess up Ribeye. It seemed as if they microwaved it. The potatoes did not have any garlic and were extremely bland. read more

We stopped in Roseburg for the night and thought Applebies would be a safe bet after being on the road for 8 hours. Boy, I was WRONG! (Note to self: read the reviews BEFORE chosing where to eat). Waited for our dinners for over 30 minutes even though the restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived at 4 pm. My order (medium rare ribeye with baked potato and cheesy broccoli) was completely wrong, including a well done ribeye, plain broccoli and condiments on the potato I didn't ask for. So I Sent it back. When it came back the second time (now 40 + minutes after we came in), the steak was literally raw and cold on the inside and the cheese unmelted on the broccoli. I sent it all back and we called it a night here. My husband's dinner was incomplete (missing the vegetables) but what arrived was good according to him, and he liked his drink .... which is why I gave this 2 stars. read more

Absolutely love this place! The one we use to go to in Valencia, Ca closed several years ago. I missed the fiesta lime chicken! Today we visited this one in Roseburg, the chicken was exactly how I remembered it! Superb! Lindsey was our server and was fabulous, friendly with a great sense of humor. This numbers maybe my fourth of fifth trip to an Applebee's.... between port angeles and gold beach now. I shouldn't be, but I'm sad to say... it's yet another disappointment as well as my last gamble on this place. I don't generally expect much from an Applebee's, but I do expect to at least get the food I asked for. Even if it's fairly mediocre food. Well this trip saw a failure on multiple fronts. There was a chunk in a shot of whiskey we ordered (they definitely got us another), then there was me asking for Mac & cheese with bacon.... and receiving Mac and cheese with bacon, honey mustard sauce, and three chicken strips atop (also slathered in some kind of sweet sauce). The food was just wrong. And when I asked what happened to my Mac & cheese, my waitress was so vague that I simply shrugged my shoulders and ate what appeared, mostly, to be Mac & cheese. Couldn't finish the meal. Could hardly start! This was nasty stuff. I expected four cheeses with bacon. Not a Chinese side atop some dry/warm noodles. I'd planned on simply leaving after laying my check and heading down to Carl's Jr. for a #8... until I saw my $31 bill. The m&c (that I couldn't stomach) was $14+!!! Gross. So that lead to me grabbing a menu to see how this got so messed up. Turns out the menu item I was pointing to and talking about was in the signature sides menu (as I expected and my server saw me pointing to). I recall being excited and saying I wanted the m&c with bacon. So I called her over and explained where I think we got off track. She did a really poor job, again, of explaining to me how what I saw before me was the same as what I'd ordered.... except that it wasn't. It took me breaking down the differences before she acknowledged that she'd got me the wrong item. Then the real kicker... she says she too doesn't like that item and tries talking customers out of it when they order it! Say what??? You did NO such thing. She was a sweetie. I'll give her that. But when she asked if I'd like another entree... "no I'd simply like my bill to reflect the difference in what I ordered and what you gave me" was my answer. I left and ate nothing between Roseburg and Eugene. Now my damned stomach aches and I'm gassy and crampy. Thanks Applebee's. I've been going to this Applebee's on a regular basis for about 11 years now, and I've generally thought of it as a dependably decent place. However, over the last several months they seem to have developed some issues stemming from a general lack of organization/management. Issues with the wait staff being uncoordinated with their service gaps resulting in some minor and sometimes major inconveniences. In the kitchen, some dishes are occasionally, randomly unavailable. Food preparation is at times slow and sometimes there's inconsistencies in dish preparation from one time to the next. A dish that you enjoyed last time may therefore either not be available or not meet your expectations this time. These issues do not seem to be related to the current business volume They occur when the restaurant is busy, or not busy. In general, we enjoy Applebee's menu and the staff, as individuals, do well. We were in Roseburg, OR looking at so property we may purchase to move to the lovely city of Roseburg. We stopped at the Applebee's for dinner and were very impressed by the cleanliness, the food and the friendliness of the staff. One of the Best Applebee's that we have eaten a meal. Tristina, the manager, was wonderful!!! We were very impressed by her upbeat attitude, the way she spoke to staff and customers as well. She took time to stop by our table and talk to us which we enjoyed. She was just genuinely interested in our visit both at Applebee's and Roseburg. I have been to this particular Applebee's at least 10 times, if not more. It was a big hit when it first arrived in Roseburg, then went through some various management (apparently) where things started to slide downhill a bit. Lately, I've been very impressed. Service has been great, and the food was as well. I've always thought that they have smaller than price deserved portions, so I'll knock a star for that. But this particular occasion, I was looking for a lighter fare due to a new diet, and there under 550 calorie menu is great! Good selection, great flavors. If your driving by on the 5, stop in for dinner! Beware, though, it can be packed ANY night of the week! read more

It was simply okay food and okay service. Nothing special to talk about. I had the two for $27 deal and took the second meal as to-go. So for $13 bucks per meal it wasn't bad. If you enjoy mustard you will really like this sauce. Sit at the bar where service is ultra fast. My second appetizer is wonton tacos. They are very tasty with a nice amount of spice. The wonton shells are really a treat. My server at the bar is Tauni who knows how to treat customers. She is fast and efficient. Saw this place on my GPS and after a great meal at another Applebee's thought I would stop for lunch and see if the meal consistency was the same as in my other visits to this chain establishment. My friend and I ate lunch at Applebee's in Roseburg today and had a problem with the waitress. We are seniors and asked for separate bills and our senior discount at the time we ordered. The waitress was short with us because another waitress had to leave and she was sent to take our order out of her section. Her unhappiness showed with attitude. When we were done we asked for our bill and when she brought it we did not get our senior discount and she didn't separate our tickets. She said we did not say we were seniors and I told her yes we did. So she grab the ticket and said she had to find the manager she change it. We had to wait 25 minutes from that time to get the correct and have money taken. We will not be back because if the waitress' disrespect. Food was Applebee's average we stayed at the hotel next door had 10 guys coming in at different times I got their at 430. Ordered a coors light couple others showed up ordered beers at 8 we had all finished eating I ordered. What would have been my 5th coors light in almost 4 hours and she said they can't serve more then 4 per person Applebee's law wtf! Doubtful I will ever go to another Applebee's again.
