I've dined in before and had very good experiences! However, I decided to try out carry out and i won't do it again! I ordered a standard burger no pink, side of fries and an ice tea. Pick it up staff is friendly, got my food and went home. When I got home I got a fry and it was super cold! I touched the others just in case and yup all of them cold! I was kinda disappointed but I still had the burger. Open the box and looks good but touched it, cold too! A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT Tonight will probably be the last time we will ever visit this Applebee's in Somers Point, NJ. REASON: The management(?) has dropped the Friday night "TRIVIA BINGO" contest, yes!, all three (3) rounds of great fun are GONE ! I guess they got too cheap or whatever. For many years while we were in town, every Friday night we would have dinner, drinks at this Applebee's. But now that the Trivia Bingo is gone, I seriously doubt that we will ever be be eating and/or drinking at this Applebee's again. A sad day. Therefore, their rating is hereby dropped down to only one(1) star. Here is the previous review that is no longer valid: Just a regular Applebee's, not many pro's and not many con's. Just plain and simple food with average service and prices. Nothing special. One exception, the Bartender(s) on Friday is excellent. - BUT, they have these contest nights, usually Wednesday 8:30 and Friday's 9:00 PM, where a DJ Mitch comes in to host Team Trivia or Trivia Bingo with several prizes of a $10 gift certificates for winning one of the several rounds. - All of a sudden the place becomes a real HOOT on these nights! A great time is had by everyone. A bit slow at times, but real FUN. WELL DONE! - BTW: 4 Stars for this particular Applebee's, the other one's just get 3 stars. read more

You guys have gone from mediocre to the worst Applebee's in south Jersey. Why is the female (heavy set) bar tender so freaking angry? Why are your servers not able to handle more than three tables at a time? We literally had to wait 15 minutes to sit down when the place was pretty much empty. There was literally 3 tables being served and they say they don't have enough servers. Common sense, sit the people down and tell them your server will be with you in a few minutes, instead of letting them sit in the front where people are coming in and out; we're still dealing with Covid, remember? This place needs a serious evaluation from corporate HQ. The things they allow in this place is unacceptable. The appetizers takes forever to come out (turn the oil temperature up, it's too oily); employees talk about personal matters that shouldn't be discussed in front of customers. Waitresses are friendly but far from knowing how to be a good server (not trained properly). Servers don't check up on you to see if you need a refill, and take forever to give you a check. Again, they're more worried about talking to each other and gossiping than taking care of customers. Kitchen workers are super slow and joke around more than they work. I cannot image what will happen to this place when things go back to normal. Get it together management; this is all on you, don't make me come in there and send everyone home. read more

This visit to Applebee's was great! We were greeted and seated quickly. Our drinks took about 5 minutes to come, but the server apologized. Our food was out fast and the rest of our visit was great. Another restaurant I love going to. read more

Great night with great food. My boyfriend ordered their new triple bacon cheeseburger with the fried string beans appetizer and I got my usual steak and potatoes. It was after nine so we got long islands for just three bucks and they are delicious, everything was delicious! Our waitress was very helpful and attentive, and they have little computers at your table so even if she's not there you can order or have it call her over. They do specials when there is a hockey game or a football game on too. I'm so full and I still have leftovers for tomorrow. Hope to be back soon! read more

A chain restaurant is not usually my dining style but there are just some times where you want a simple burger or salad. Applebee's fits that bill and then some. We were greater by a pleasant hostess and staff. We were invited to have a seat at the bar while we waited for a table, which was a very short wait. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and quick. Delish. I didnt finish my drink before we were escorted to a table. Our server, Jenn was quick to welcome us, introduce herself and take our drink order. When Jenn arrived with the drinks I thought I was all set to order a salad or a burger but our knowledgeable server told us all about the best dishes they serve. We had great service, very good food and drinks in a fun environment for a reasonable price. I can't say anything negative. As far as I am concerned Applebee's gets my vote for a chain and it will be on my radar when travelling too. read more

Out of the two Applebee's, this one is THE worst. The staff we have encountered was horrible, food was poor and the atmosphere was that of a run down pizzahut. My fiancée and I have had to go recently, her food had hair or was cold or stale. We have also ate inside, or waitress took 10 mins to get to us, the drinks took another 10, and the food took 30 mins. What kills me is the fact that it was a dead night. We requested to speak to a manager, but he was MIA. So we just left. We gave this place 4 different shots over the span of 2 years, and nothing has changed. I don't know what happened to this restaurant. They used to be great but lately everything is terrible. I love boneless wings but recently they have been coming out soggy and gross. They are constantly getting rid of menu items that I enjoy so I have to settle for something new that's not as good. I love this applebee's. I think its the best one around the area. Its always clean and the servers are so friendly and quick. The managers are always around if theres a problem. Im there very often and never had a bad meal or bad service. The menu is always changing and keeps adding great dishes. The wonton tacos are the best and i love every kind of unique burger they have. Went to applebees with my home slices. Took 15 minutes for server Scott to take out order for drinks down. He came back 5 minutes later with an attitude to take our orders down. We ordered and he didn't take away our menus. After an hour and 10 minutes, other servers bring out our food. He comes back asking if anything wrong, and he forgot the French fries on my pal's dish. After our meals he comes back and says "there's a couple problems with the check, you guys' can figure it out." Overall, worst example of Applebee's. read more

I was really pumped to hear that they brought back the three cheese chicken penne. A while ago they switched it to the cavatappi and it just wasnt that good. HOWEVER, the penne is back bitches. BUT, they no longer give you a breadstick with it. Whats up with that? I used to look forward to that breadstick every time i went there with my girls from lil nip. To make things even worse, the last time i went there my waiter brought me 7 take out boxes when i asked for them AS A JOKE !!! He was too nice . I only needed 3 . I didnt know what to do with all those extra boxes !! Plus, it was fuckin trivia bingo night and mitch was NOT playing around. Good food but horrible management. Some servers are attentive but others don't have any common sense or customer service skills. They would rather stand around talking/gossiping with each other while refills are needed and food sits in the kitchen getting cold and dried out. They advertise half priced appetizers but the most popular items are excluded. I blame all troubles on poor management. read more

This Applebee's is really usually a hit or miss. Sometimes we're pretty satisfied and sometimes it's a mess. We tend to come to take advantage of good deals since their prices have become so inflated considering the usual mediocre service. If we're going to spend $13 for a burger, we're just going to go to a place like the Crab Trap. The only problem is that when you come for their deals, you end up getting even worse service because the servers assume that you're not going to tip well. In any case, it seems like a lose-lose situation for the consumer although we've gotten some very nice servers from time to time. Also, as a side note, be advised that some Applebee's do not allow you to take home leftovers if you get ¢25 wings- a detail that we would have appreciated to know beforehand. Instead, you would never know about it. This seems like a sneaky and underhandedly omitted piece of information that I am more than happy to reveal to the general public. read more

We had a party of 20 & they took great care of us. Our server never let our drinks get dry & took care of all our needs quickly! The food came our in great time & we got to enjoy our time with our family. Just left Applebee's in Somers Point, NJ. The PINT of beer I purchased at $4.60 was in a 14 ounce glass!!! When I pointed out that a Pint is 16 ounces, the bartender did an experiment with a measuring cup and admitted I was indeed correct about this SCAM (my words). Imagine the profit on pouring 2 ounces less of beer x probably many thousands of patrons each and every day! I call this "pouring a lie." I intend to take this further! read more

We usually love Applebee's....they have something for everyone. The past couple of times we ordered from them (Car side to go), sides were missing, quality was poor and the ribs (which we love) were cold and overlooked. We would just chalk it up to "a bad night". This past Monday (9/18/17) we ordered Car side to go and waited for our pick up time. Drove there and waited only to be told they WERE OUT OF RIBS!!! That would have been helpful at the time of our order!!!! They offered us free fries....Really?? This was a $78.00 bill that was already paid and contained nothing that we ordered!! My boyfriend and I came in and our waiter told the hostess to sit us in the back. When our waiter came to the table she told us they just cleaned the tables in the front and then realized what she was saying. She tried to cover the rude comment by saying that our table was clean too but it wasn't because I had crumbs on my hand. She then said "but I can sit you wherever you would like." So she sat us in the back because we weren't worth a freshly clean table. Worst customer service I've ever had and will not be returning sadly. I enjoy their food very much, but the other night I went in for half price apps, and we had this guy wait on us. probably sat for about 10 minutes before we were greeted and offered a beverage, then he had a different waiter bring us the food. and we didn't see him or didn't check on us until he brought the check.
