To start with, I made the executive decision to order the Bloomin' Onion as a starter. I figured the Irishman would be suitably impressed, and he was. Don't Out the Outback! On today's episode of rating chain steakhouses, my wife and I decided to stop here for dinner. Honestly I haven't been to an Outback in probably like 10 years so I really had no idea what to expect. We were greeted immediately and the host escorted us to our table. The entire restaurant is Australian Outback theme (I'm not even really sure if that's a thing). On to the food, to drink I ordered a strawberry lemonade which had fresh strawberries mixed in. To start, we absolutely had to hit up that Bloomin' Onion. It was crispy and flavorful. For dinner, I got the Melbourne porterhouse with the garlic butter and grilled onions added to it. The steak was flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. For my sides, I had the loaded baked potato and a Caesar salad. Both of them were great. Generally, this location is great. The staff is always friendly, and food cooked perfectly. Besides inflation and prices going up (not their fault), I'm a repeat customer and have a full belly when I leave each time. The only time I've really been disappointed was today. I came in to get the Center Cut Sirloin, Lobster Tail deal they are running right now. Sit at the bar as I always do and asked the bartender if that was still running. She thought about it for a second, then said no only the Crab one was going on. So I ordered my normal Center Cut Sirloin meal and get that. It came out perfect of course and left happy and full as always. But when I got home, I looked on the app's menu, and sure enough the Lobster Tail special was still going on. Def disappointed I lost out on that tonight. I go every couple months or so, so pretty sure I lost out on that deal. This was our first time dining at Outback and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the mgr Miguel and he was very welcoming. When we notified him that this was our first time dining with the company he made sure we were very well taken care of. He helped guide us thru the menu and we started off with the hot and honey shrimp with the Boomarita to share. COMPLETELY AMAZING! Then I decided on the Filet Mignon and lobster which was cooked PERFECTLY and my boyfriend ordered the sirloin with the bloomin' chicken and he loved every bit of it. The asparagus was a bit under seasoned and mushy but that's the only negative. Our server Jackie was very attentive and made sure our every need were met. For this to be our first time here we are beyond pleased and look forward to returning to try the dessert menu. I brought ten family members to La Barca and it was possibly the worst dining experience of my life. Right from the start, no sparkling water, bread came out if a package. Appetizers were forgotten, everyone's meal was missing key descriptions, no pear on poached pear salads, seafood left out of entrees, even bones in the scallops!!It took 1 1/2 hrs for entrees, no refills on our water, and other beverages. Every entree was over cooked and inedible . The hostess was very rude, there was no soap in bathrooms, I asked for soap, hostess ignored this request. I am a regular in your Collingswood and Marlton restaurants, so this was not only a disappointment but was just a horrible experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have not been to the old location since some A-hole bumped us because he called ahead from the parking lot. With the new location we put ourselves on the waiting list online. So Suck it ! this time I'm the A-hole. Website had us being seated at 7:00, but we were sat at 6:55! When we got there the place was packed, luckily we found 3 seats at the bar for a drink. The new layout is nice with TVs and high tops, BUT (come on you knew a but was coming) it's loud and the floor sweats so it's slippery. Server was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We ordered the Bloomin onion because it's a law in some states. It's taking a little long for the main course to come out and our waitress keeps stopping by to apologize. She went as far as asking the manager to come over to the table and give us a free dessert. The food was good and they are working out the kinks. I feel they are trying to please. First I will say the staff were exceptionally nice. Our waitress, Sheryl (sorry if name spelled wrong as I don't have the receipt in front of me) was superb and gets 5 stars. She was not only very nice and accommodating, but I could tell that she was very seasoned (no pun intended) and that she had seen and come across all kinds of clientele before. In any case, here are the reasons for the 3 star rating. Upon asking for the toppings on the side on my baked potato, it came with everything on the potato. Little issue as they took it back right away. Then, the broccoli was very mushy and overdone. Lastly, my mom's steak was too underdone. However, I suspect this was done intentionally as she was very specific, and if it's underdone, it could have easily been taken back and cooked a little further to her liking. To be honest, conventional American food is not really my top choice, but I would certainly give this place another try. We came for my niece's sweet 16 and tried to make the night special under the circumstances. They said a 1.5 hour wait to be seated for a party of 12. We waited. After awhile I went to get an update and was told that we weren't even on the list! The manager was a jerk about it and said he would've never said he could seat us because we would take up too many tables. He told us 1.5 hours. We wouldn't have waited if he says that. Ridiculous! I love outback stake houses food. I loved going to the location near the old mall. It was great. But this new location, whoever is cooking their food, IS TRASH! The last 3 blooming onions I've gotten still had raw batter on them, my fries were not fully cooked, my French onion soup had no broth... my foods cold and my salads warm. Make it make sense! Many places have risen to the challenge in these Covid times, this place is not one of them. This was a last minute choice on a Saturday in September. We had been out shopping and decided to grab something to eat. Dining inside was limited and there was a very long wait, so we decided to try the outside option. Temperature was in the fifties, as forecasted, and there were no heaters in the outside dining area. The area we were in featured no walls, as the chairs rocked on the rough macadam. Service was poor, with the waitstaff taking a long time to attend to diners. Some seemed better than others but we had the one that dropped the dishes and spilled water on my partner. While we waited, we made frequent trips to the restroom, to warm ourselves at the hand dryers. Aside from the environment, the meal started well. When we finally received our orders the cocktails were good, as were the New England Clam Chowder and the Coconut Shrimp. I almost awarded two stars, based upon this promising start, but the overall experience was so bad I had to go back to one. The wait times were extraordinary and the waitress did not make herself available. Ordered a 12 oz. center cut sirloin, priced at $15.99. I was told that the menu was wrong and it was 11 oz. I wouldn't find out until the bill was presented that it was $18.99. My partner ordered the Alice Springs chicken and was satisfied with her meal. I ordered my steak to be cooked "Medium." It came out almost raw. (See photos). I would have sent it back but the busser who dropped off the meal scurried quickly away and the waitress did not make herself available until the check was presented. Every location is different as far as the rating I would give each one if you're a steak lover I always order my medium that's perfect if they overcook it a little bit it's still good if it's a little too undercooked you can always send them back for another couple minutes. They can always cook it to your level they cannot unhook it to your level that's why I ordered mine medium. read more
