My experience at applebees was... to be put simply, garbage. The food was decent to say the most, but my waiter was awfull "Victoria L". She was slow and had a bad additude. Overall bad expeirience. For example i ordered a stake and it took forever, but thats not all when she brought the stake she didnt bring a fork or a knife, in fact she didnt give any untensils to begin with. So i asked her to bring me a knife and she said ok but i didnt get my knife for another 20-25 mins by that time my food was cold and not very enjoyable. Yall get my point, and i dont feel like writing anymore, it was trash to be put simply, i would still recommend it though just try to get a diffrent waiter than "her". read more

Victoria and James were perhaps the best servers I've ever had at this establishment. They were friendly and attentive. Treated me like a long time friend rather than a customer. I will continue to go back time and again as long as these two are working. Stopped in for a drink and a shared appy while shopping in the mall. Sat at the bar. Website has Sunday Happy Hour from 3-6pm. Bartender was mighty busy serving TWO other people that I had to flag her over. She seemed disinterested and looked puzzled when I asked about any drink specials or happy hour choices. She said no happy hour, only have discounted hot Irish coffee and Miller lights. No bar drink menus to be found, and the employees looked miserable. No wonder the bar was dead. Honestly felt like we just walked into some dark side parallel universe that was sucking the happy outta everyone. Left without ordering anything. Not today Satan, not today. read more

It's rare to find a bad Applebee's. I feel like they're usually all the same and it's the neighborhood that sucks not the restaurant. I ordered the house sirloin medium rare and it really did take an absurdly long time considering it was late afternoon and not many people there. The steak came out medium well and I sent it back. The staff wasn't very hospitable in anyway, The bartender did her job and nothing more. It took another really long interval for my meal to come back out and this time it was well done. I was so hungry by this point, I really just didn't care and neither did the staff. So I'm pretty disappointed at this place. I would not go as far as to say, "don't come here" but definitely lower your expectations if you do. read more

Let me just preface this review by saying it's the 4th of July, down the shore, and it's been raining on and off all day. With that said my mom, niece and I came to the mall to avoid being cramped up in the hotel we were staying at. We were seated after about 15 minutes (non-issue) and placed our orders. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and tasted fine. The reason for 2 stars is the staff in general. No one seemed in a good mood. An order station was directly behind our table so when the waitresses would come by and start trash-talking their tables, I could hear everything being said. Our server in particular just seemed flustered and all over the place. And on top of that they were running a special where kids ate free that day. Of course when I got the bill, I was charged for the kid's meal. I asked it to be removed and then paid the bill. When I spoke to the manager about getting a copy of the voided transaction receipt, she told me that they don't get receipts, it just shows that it was voided. I've worked in several restaurants as a server and know this to be BS. There is ALWAYS a voided receipt. read more

We got the 2 for 20 special. We each got a salad, she had the ranch and I had the oriental dressing. Cold, crisp and very good. We both got the 7 oz sirloin which is an extra 2 bucks each. It was tender and tasty. I got the baked potato and she got the French fries and they were both good. The service was a tad slow but acceptable. Overall, very good. read more

Victoria was very rude to my daughter and her friends after they came to the mall via car pool and once they got Starbucks before deciding to go to apple-bees where they were told very rudely to put there drinks anyway when they have had multiple occurrences with Applebee's and there Starbucks drinks I am very unpleased with the service that my daughter and her friends got treated it's a level of respect that Victoria with the blue mask does not have .They even saw her let adults go with there drinks . What more can you say about Applebee's? Almost everyone I know has eaten there at one time or another. This one has pretty good food, including the salad bar, which is not always stocked full. The service is always pretty good. The food is always hot, brought out in a timely manor, and our drinks were always full. For a chain, this one is alright. read more

Went here on my birthday after a bad experience from another restaurant and was immediately better. We got told there was a little 20 minute wait so we walked around the mall for a bit. Table was ready. Immediately better service. Waiters were super friendly. The appetizers and entrees were super fresh and our waiter made the experience much better. He is a tall, bubbly man that was very nice and made sure we were comfortable every second. Would recommend this Applebee's to others and we left the waiter a $30 tip read more

Ok, so I have been going to this applebees for many years, as many as it's been in the mall. Years ago this was the spot my friends and I would go to after getting dropped off by our parents every Friday. I never could say I loved it, but could always eat it without a second thought. My daughter also enjoyed it (now 9) for many years, it's easy and convenient to stop in while shopping. The last 3 or so times I went, I can see a clear downgrade in quality. The food was horrible consistently. Got a burger, it was just the greasiest thing ever, by the time it hit the table the bun was inedible, they completely forgot to give me topping on my plate, and it just wasn't good. It literally seems like about 2 years ago, they revamped the menu, and it just went to complete crap there. I have eaten there 2 or so times after the horrible burger, and still hate it every time. Unfortunately I'm never going back, so now I drive over to fridays if we decide to eat by the mall. read more

Went there while doing some back to school shopping wanting to grab lunch. Little did we know that we would be there for 3 hours...and mind you we were told it was a 15 minute wait to be seated. One hour later we were seated, why we waited I don't know. It took another 15 minutes to get drinks and place our orders. We ordered the appetizer trio and our meals. Another 30 minutes and the appetizer came out, which was very good. The waitress did not come back for another 30 minutes meanwhile the manager came over asking if we wanted refills on our drinks. When our food finally arrived it was ICE cold as if it had been sitting in the back and forgotten about. We didn't complain however because we didn't want to be stuck there any longer. When we finally got our check we were charged for three separate appetizers instead of the appetizer trio. Turns out that the waitress had input in the computer that way so they were "doing us a favor" by correcting the bill and charging us for the trio. 12:30-3:30p.m. with bad service and cold food was not how I wanted to spend an afternoon off. We really appreciated the kindness and never expected such accommodation. He even threw in some cake and ice cream! I had went to beach with good friend, we hung at beach till after 4pm,so we decided to go to that mall, find something to eat. Found this Applebee's.Not a fan of this chain, but Wow, located inside the mall, right by entrance, it was packed inside. We both ordered from the 2 for $20.00 menu, it wasn't bad, but wasn't anything to write home about. Not great, mediocre, not like your taste-buds were woken up, just to fill out tummies. I got the riblet basket, she got raviolis. Came with spinach dip. The dip was good, but nachos were extra greasy & salty..Ughhhh..Like I said, was just fill stomachs, long as I didn't percolate. BTW-the waiter was extremely long to get to us , thankfully we didn't have to rush anywhere, otherwise be pissed off. But service wasn't good either. Go back.. 5% chance-not likely. read more

All Applebee's are awful. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would ever go to one. This could in fact be the greatest Applebee's in the United States, but there would be no way of knowing that for sure; it'd be a bit like choosing the best turd from a sewer pipe. For some reason, my wife likes the burgers here. Because neither of us would ever be caught dead eating in an Applebee's, I am occasionally tasked with picking up a take out order. Having offered my opinion on the food, I am always surprised when they expect me to pay for it, instead of paying me to eat it, yet they do. My experience is that you have to pick it up at the bar. Now, usually when you pick up takeout from the bar area, the bartender handles the transaction. That is not the case here. They force a server to bring it to you and ring you up, and they seem none too happy to be doing it. I don't blame them. I am not tipping you 20% for carrying a bag of food ten feet from the kitchen to the bar. I don't mean to come off like a cheapskate, because that's far from the truth, but I resent having to tip for takeout at all. When I do, I usually give $2, maybe $3 if it's over $40. But the servers' resentments at having to deal with a takeout customer are clearly greater than mine, and it shows. I'm sorry, sir or ma'am, but I did not create the policy, and I shouldn't have to vicariously experience your disdain for it. There is a bright spot about being treated brusquely by an Applebee's server, though: if they are angry enough, they will surely spit in your meal, which could only improve the quality of it. read more

We went for dinner and ordered the all you can eat riblets and all you can eat chicken tenders, the riblets were very good, however the chicken tenders were not good, they tasted like they came out of a bag of frozen nuggets, they were hard, crusty, and tasteless!! You have to remember this is Applebee's in the mall and they are dealing with a million teenagers wanting half price apps. And honestly everytime I go they try everyone the same! Went there the other day at the request of my son. The food we did get was mediocre at best, the waitress never came by for a refill or to check on us. Had to send one of your dishes back twice - for the exact same reason. The person next to us had the same issue. So, one of our guest had to watch everyone else eat and then didn't even to get eat herself. The manager did take away the offending meal and offer a free meal & dessert in it's place, which she took to go...but, between the inability to cook a meal on their menu and the waitress's lack of, well anything resembling doing her job, we won't be back. There are better places in Ocean County - though the food options in the Ocean County Mall are going down hill quickly. Thankfully, Ichiban is still open. read more

Applebees is always one of our "go-to" places. It used to be so good. Recently it has gone to shit. Every time we go the food is always cold, especially the broccoli, its so overly crowded you can barely hear yourself talk, the servers in the front are literally always complaining about the people coming in especially if its a busy day and people are seated in the front waiting. Very unprofessional. Not to mention that when we got seated my boyfriends seeatshirt got stuck to gum that was underneath the table. Dont know why we keep going back here. I have never felt so compelled to give this specific Applebee's a review. Never, have I wasted so much of a night at an Applebee's in my life. First off, I was not greeted with a "Hello", or any gesture, I don't even think either hostess realized I was even there. Once I sat down, it got worse, I ordered two appetizers so I would get them before my meal.(thats when the appetizer comes right?) Wrong, it all came at once. The entree's got cold, and nothing came to the table until an hour after we ordered. Yes, an hour! Applebee's is meant to be an in and out restaurant, especially if your just two! My night was tied down at Applebee's and the food was subpar at best. However, even if the food was a 5 out of 5 the service was enough to never make me want to go back to any Applebee's again. read more

I always enjoyed applebees in Manchester n.j,until today. my family came to visit & I took them to the Manchester applebees. I don't know what happened to the clean friendly applebees that I always enjoyed,but this was not it. we were served on filthy dishes and when I brought it to the waitresses attention she replied,OH WELL, at least its dirty on the outside,& not inside. The service was awful,& when we were done, we left leaving behind our boxed leftovers. I called when I got home ,but was told that they probably threw it in the trash. Came here with a group after Sky Zone. Baja Fresh had just closed but I wasn't too excited... When first walking in I don't understand why but they never renovate Applebee's! They still have condiment and food stains leading a trail to every table. When seated I don't know if our server had hearing problems but he couldn't hear a thing I said but he could hear everyone else!! Me and a friend asked for a Shirley Temple and we got a Sprite with red food coloring. WHAT IS THIS! No cherry or anything and it was not well mixed it was a gradient color. Ok, so I order the 'Build A Sampler' as my meal. The crosscut ribs and some nachos. Ugh!!!! The sour cream on the nachos had a consistency of cream cheese. and the cheese was on the tip of each chip barely anything! Then the beef on it was a sliver and only lasted 2 chips that was awkwardly stuck together. There was 3 jalapeño ...good thing I don't like them! The ribs came out the same way they left, barely any ribs to it! It was bones with a side of sauce and barely any meat added. Let me remind you the ribs came out in a toaster tray. There was supposed to be spicy pickles but it was cucumbers with pepper on top in a mini sauce cup. One of my friends got chicken tenders and it looked cold. Another friend got 7 oz. steak and the server never asked how it should be prepared and the broccoli is dried out and just there basically for decor. My other friend got Mac and cheese that came with French fries. FRENCH FRIES AND MAC&CHEESE IS NOT OK! Like ew it doesn't go. For apps the artichoke dip tasted like microwaved artichoke dip. Mediocre food and the feeling of being rushed out of the restaurant even when there are lots of open tables. Entrees and appetizer served simultaneously and then asked 8 times if we needed anything else. On the positive side, the greater was pleasant. I guess if you are in the mall and have worked up an appetite from all that shopping, it won't kill you to eat here and have a beer, but you can drive a short while and easily find some place on in TR that is a much better value. read more
