I and my son had lunch at this applebee's restaurant grill and bar. We had the .25 cents wings special and the chips with salsa. The waitress aka hostess Tasha was very courteous, friendly, kind, considerate. Oh yes she works hard for the money, meaning she was a cut above and beyond the call of duty. The wings were a little salty in my opinion however #delicious It was such a delightful experience. It will be my pleasure to attend and dine at this applebee's again even for an intimate dining date. I did not visit Applebee's for a year or so. Decided to stop in and was pleasantly surprised that the dish (long forgotten) was good, but the best thing was the new dessert they have: Cookie Monster? Large SOFT cookie (unlike Cheddar's rock cookie) with 2 large scoops of ice-cream on top with light whipped cream and fudge if you like (we prefer no fudge). I have had the displeasure of eating at this Applebee's for various occasions and on not one of them did I ever have my order delivered to me as ordered. The best part is when they completely forget about your order and pretend the kitchen was taking too long. I read the Macon & WR location's reviews before our visit, and decided to give this Bee's on Russell a chance anyway. I was pretty disappointed with my decision when our visit started sketchy. We arrived around 10pm tonight, & there was no hostess at the stand. We, along with two other parties, definitely walked into chaos! The manager ended up seating us, & once seated, everything changed. Our waitress, Cindy, was attentive, courteous, & hospitable. We ordered soon after sitting down, and our food came out soon thereafter. Cindy, the wonton tacos, & wings alone would get 5 stars BUT I can't ignore that sour first impression! We stayed in a hotel in the area. My son wanted Applebee's. The hostess said it was going to be an hour and a half wait just for a table. The restaurant was half empty. She stated they were waiting for reserved parties (about 10 of them) to come in. We were offered the alternative to order to go. We did so just because we had driven for over 8 hours and were so tired. Waited for our food for close to 50 minutes! During that time, quite a bit of people were turned away and turned off by the wait time. It looked like a complete zoo. You can hear the bartender complain about her job from where we standing. We finally got our food. 50 dollars later, it was COLD! all of it. Had to come back to hotel and reheat it all. Would never eat here again unfortunately. They looked short staffed, overwhelmed and the cold food was not worth my aggravation and complaints. read more

I've been going to Applebee's with family and friends at least once a week for years now. We loved the appetizers especially the chicken wings, the spinach & artichoke tip, & pretzels & cheese dip and brisket quesadillas. Our favorite meals were the cedar grilled lemon chicken, (I loved the chopped apples on top), the caprese mozzarella chicken, the 4 cheese Mac and cheese w/ honey pepper chicken tenders and the Brunch Burger! Which is fantastic! The concern is there really hasn't been too many changes to the menu in a long time.In fairness you have had "specials" like the topped and loaded" menu but it was for a short limited time! And one of those toppers was really a cheese sauce with bacon and onions in it. The other was an appetizer of mozzarella sticks. The best one was the shrimp. But unfortunately it only lasted a brief time. How about some new recipes fAnd there is very limited choices in the 2 for $20 menu! Plus the sizes of the portions are smaller for the appetizers & meals in the 2 for $20 orders then when you order them separately! Not cool guys! You very recently added some new meals like the oriental chicken or grilled chicken wrap. TJIF has several appetizers items on their menu that are the same as Applebee's plus are bigger portions and they have many additional choices (23 in total!). read more

This Applebees has good service, hot food, tea refills. The food was good and hot. I had bake potato, steamed vegetables with a medium well cooked steak. I was enjoying it and must have cut the steak wrong because after getting it lodged, got up ran to first employee available which was the manager. He promptly helped me. I went back to my meal, finished it. Waitress gave me my check and I paid for it. Not once was there any concern shown to see if I was okay. Probably going on a year, never been back. read more

Tonight was Brayden's first shift. Pardon if I spelled that wrong. There where backups in the kitchen because they were understaffed because of the recent COVID19 issues. As a long time bartender I've got a good eye for good service. He kept us appraised of how long our food was taking and was courteous and engaged. He was partnered with Larry who covered down on him expertly, as we could see there weren't enough staff for the crowd. They handled this challenge masterfully...and it's a good thing, because it was the first time my Australian girlfriend has ever been to an Applebee's. I brought her there because it's one of those must do things in the US. But we walked away with a great experience because of these two gents. The food was great, the service was killer. And we seriously hope the best for those boys...made our night. read more

I absolutely abhor this and all other Applebee's. Sure thanks for the over year of employment as a dishwasher as I was going through law school, that was really helpful, but through that I got to see the inner workings of this beast. Salads dressed by putting the ingredients in a bag and shaking them all up. Pay no attention to the bruising of the stuff inside the bag, that's not important apparently. How about the microwaving of all the "fresh" vegetables. The riblets (they're bone chips with gristle on them). The sellout "chefs" putting their name on products they have no way of being able to check their quality. This is the one place that really turns my stomach. Just be glad I refrained from telling more stories about the food prep. read more

The first time I went here the restaurant wasn't busy and yet it still took them 40 minutes to bring my food out after I ordered it and it wasn't made the way I ordered it. The second time I went was 2 months later and they were still slow and lax with their customer service. The food came out late and cold to the point room temperature. This is one of the better casual bar & grill restaurants in town. They have a decent selection of steaks, burgers, salads, and other dishes. They also have decent appetizers and desserts. They have a ton of drinks, but I don't drink so can't comment on them. My personal favorite dish is the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, but their sirloin is really good, too. And the Apple Chimicheesecake is one of the best desserts I've ever had. This is your normal dine-in restaurant, though they also allow you to place to-go orders and even call ahead for curbside pickup. I've been eating here for a long time, and the service is almost always really good, though there can be a bit of a wait during the busier times. It's nothing spectacular, but it's definitely good, and not too expensive. read more

Our last experience here was not great we ordered the Mexican chicken wrap that had no chicken in it. So this time... We did the 2 for 20 deal. We were seated promptly and the server Kate was friendly. They have this point of service system at your table where you can call your server and order apps and drinks and view your bill. This made me hesitate because at first I thought the server was not going to be attentive but she was attentive and still checked on us regularly. We started with the wonton tacos which were delicious as always. I had the quesadilla burger which was juicy and flavorful. Husband had a new dish the honey chicken tenders and bacon Mac and cheese it was creamy and delicious with a nice balance and texture. If you want a quick or even normal time lunch or dinner, then skip this place for realz! This is the first restaraunt I've been to where every single time I go the service is lacking and wait time for food is long. Like another reviewer mentioned, even when they are not busy, the wait time for food is excessive and you become an afterthought to the waitstaff. The thing that gets me is every time I go and have the same experience, the wait staff or manager floating around doesn't seem to think anything is wrong when their people are sitting without food for 15-20 minutes at a time. No apologies or explanations. However, this last time, I got a cursory glance and "it'll just be about 2-3 more minutes" when the waitress was taking someone elses order. This was after 20 minutes had already passed and the looks on our faces were sour. Finally you get your food and it's nothing worth waiting for. Small portions and rather tastless if you ask me. Plus their new lunch menu is supposed to be small and light so you can eat and go. This would be nice except for the wait time beforehand. Then I just want more food from waiting 20+ minutes. Oh and beware this particular store likes to have a band some nights that plays like they are in concert . Meaning that they are LOUD! I almost left with my party because I couldn't hear them muchless myself speak. And I was saddened that some dumb parents took their 3 yr old right up to meet the band while they were blasting. I give this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 just because the food was edible and I got comped a portion one time after a legit complaint about wait time. Upbeat attitude is only positive attribute for Applebee's last evening. Any sign of competence stopped at the door to the kitchen. At least half of 13 orders were messed up...orders dropped in the kitchen, courses served out of order, and what food that did arrive at the table was extremely slow in arriving. Wait staff and manager were only able to do so much, but could not combat the incompetence of the kitchen...it wasn't because they were overwhelmed as there were only 4-5 people in the restaurant beside our group. It has potential...location, actual quality of food prepared, facility, and up-front faces, but beyond what patrons see is in dire need of corrective action. So stopped by to have one of their new menu items, first observation... table sticky, table across the aisle... dirty and not wiped off. There is like five people in this place two of them at the bar. ten minutes later we have not be ask what we would like to drink. There is a computer or digital device on the table do I use this to order or what. Go ask the girl that seated us... she goes to the kitchen, another young lady comes out wiping off here mouth, and trying to get the food down here throat so she can talk and take our drink order. Oh, the computer thing is to order appetizers. So, now I'm stressing out about he quality of our food or maybe someone in the back is going to spit on my food... ya never know. The food comes, went to get some ketchup... bottle empty, I went to four tables and all the bottles were near empty. People just have no self respect or motivation to do a good job. When we first arrived there there wasn't a hostess in site. Waitress took her sweet time checking on our table when we could see her standing at the bar talking to the bar tender.
