Terrible customer service. Our server Ashley denied me alcohol over some made up rule, when clearly the legal age for drinks is 21.

Ample parking with plenty of handicapped accessibility. As a disabled veteran, I truly appreciate this consideration. 8. Comfortable seating according to guest preferences--booths, tables with pull-in chairs, and bar stools. Accommodating all sizes of people. The seating and tables align with the beautiful decor throughout this establishment. 7. CLEAN restrooms!! What more can I say about this? 6. Local nostalgic decor to stir up great memories of Penn State Highacres, Angela Park, Eckley Miner's Village, and more. I remember ferris wheels at several local amusement parks and fairs, like the ferris wheel photo mural on one wall. Days spent on campus at Highacres as a student, community member, diehard Nittany Lions fan, and daughter of a dedicated Penn State employee (my Dad). We sat in front of the miners' photo mural, and think about my hard-working maternal grandfather who labored in Schuylkill County anthracite coal mines. 5. Specials. Special creepy (think gummy eyeball in your drink) adult beverages around Halloween. Dollaritas. Happy Hour for late-night munching and thirst-quenching. Today's salute to veterans was extra-special. Gift card specials, too. Staff are knowledgeable. 4. Well-stocked bar. Mom had a tasty Manhattan cocktail, I enjoyed a chardonnay spritzer. If you like fruity drinks, there are plenty of alcohol-laden and alcohol-free options. Frozen and on-the-rocks margaritas are super. This location's bartender--Albert--created our adult beverages, and they were PERFECT! 3. Military recognition. Most recently (tonight!), Veteran's Day free meal, with various options from a special menu. Choices included entrees of Asian salad, 6 ounce sirloin steak, breaded shrimp, cheeseburger, chicken fingers, and more. 2. Excellent food. We love the artichoke dip. Just the right balance of ingredients, tortilla chips, and tomato salsa to start our dining experience. Mom loved her medium-rare sirloin accompanied by broccoli and mashed potatoes. I savored crispy shrimp, fresh-cut seasoned fries, and chunky Cole slaw. We had enough for to-go containers. As a big supporter of reuse, reduce (waste), repurpose, and recycle, thank you for the plastic carryout containers. The clear lid eases selection of mine versus Mom's leftovers, although we'll likely share! The carryout brown paper bag is the right size and has appropriate length, sturdy carrying straps. 1. The TEAM that comprises West Hazleton Applebee's! You are super-duper! While you amply saluted veterans tonight, we salute you for making our visit top-notch! Our server, Ashley, is so personable, helpful, and efficient. Albert makes terrific beverages. Julie is such a warm, welcoming hostess who greets all visitors. I went to lunch with my family on Sunday February 17th. When we walked in the door, there was a woman sitting at a high table near the door who clearly worked there. There were 6 people waiting to be seated so we stood and waited to be greeted. I stood there for 10 minutes as numerous employees looked at us and did nothing. After 10 minutes, the lady who was sitting finally turned to us and asked if we wanted a table. I was already annoyed. After 10 more minutes, we were finally seated. The server was very nice... took our order and brought our drinks. After 5 minutes, we were approached by another server who asked if the food she had was ours.. it was not so she went to 2 other tables until she found the correct one. A few minutes later, it happened again. I heard the server complain that she didn't know what table number the food was meant for. Shortly after, our server brought our food. After he walked away, we realized that we had no silverware or napkins. Since we didn't have food that we could eat with our hands( salmon, mashed potatoes, etc., we tried to get the attention of a server. This took 10 minutes, as our food was getting cold. The server brought us a pack of take out plastic cutlery... 1 pack for 3 people. She was embarrassed but told us that they were out of silverware but were washing it and would have it to us soon. I was getting upset at this point. The other server then came to us and asked if we needed anything. We explained about the silverware. He then went to a table that had been seated after us and took 3 of their silverware sets, wrapped in napkins and brought them to us. I overheard another server say that the dishwasher quit earlier in the day and that they were running out of everything. I was ready to walk out as were were clearly given silverware that was on someone else's table and may have been handled by others. Really hygienic!! We noticed how visibly dirty the floor was... littered with napkins and shavings of straw papers.... We will not be recommending that anyone eat there unless they do a 180 . Management was lacking and it was chaos. Go somewhere else!! read more

We were very happy with our dinner at Applebees. We got the 2 for $26 deal, I got the Fiesta Lime Chicken and wife got the Sizzling Shrimp and Chicken, and our appetizer was the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. The food was all tasty, the server was friendly and attentive. Overall a pleasant experience and good value for the money. read more

This place was the absolute worse! Drinks were wrong, food was bad, service was spotty and rushed. From the time we sat down we felt rushed to leave and the service was poor. The table they sat us at wasn't cleaned properly. Thank goodness I had sanitizer wipes! As we sat waiting for our drinks which took 30 minutes for a soda and a Tipsy Zombie, we watched people leave tables around us. The wait staff just cleared the dishes away not once did they spray the table down to sanitize it! We tried to express our concerns to management and was told that the manager was not available. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy! Wouldn't be surprised if this place was a breeding ground for COVID or anything else! read more

Well hello. I visited applebeans tonight with my chickas. Not impressed I must say! The first thing I notice is this chive in my fork and knife! Omg! I took it out and chewed on it and it didn't even taste good. Me and fran ordered the long Israel ice tea for $1 ! We wanted to get crunk tonight. Waitress comes back with no Israel tea!!! What to heck. I waited it out. I ordered the potatoe soup and pretzel sticks. WHAT THE!!!! a big cup of salty cheese and a small cup of mustard? What if I liked he mustard more! Wow... still no teas coming out. Brenda says not to worry about it and it won't even be on the check. They bring that check out!!! And it's on there. One HOLE dollar!!! I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Applebee's tonight. I asked the waitress if the drink I ordered was the dollar special for the month of November and was told that IT WAS. I proceeded to order 3 of the because I thought they were 1$ BASED OFF WHAT THE WAITRESS TOLD ME and then received my bill with it being 5$ a drink. I was under false advertisement and was indeed scammed from the Hazleton Applebee's because they couldn't tell me the truth for how much a drink truly was. The drinks were also extremely week for how much I paid for them, considering they weren't a dollar. Never going back again. read more

I haven't been to Applebee's in quite some some. We decided to try it again. We were pleased. I drink coffee, every time I've been there, they bring me a child size container of 1% milk??????? I ask if I can have maybe a tiny bit from the bar? The waitress tells me, they have no milk or cream, other than the child's 1% milk which doesn't do much for a cup of coffee. For a restaurant as big as Applebee's, I would think they can spring for some small creamers for coffee drinkers. Very bad oversight in my opinion. I won't be going back for probably another year. I'm sure I'm not the only coffee drinker who can relate. read more

We waited 10 minutes for drinks, then placed our order. 30 minutes later the mgr informs us that our app was taken to the wrong table and they are preparing another. Then the app comes out and another 30 minutes pass and our entrees still never arrived and the waitress never revisited the table. So we requested mgmt. Female mgr comes over and becomes defensive and blames us for the mishap, we offered to pay for our drinks and app that was rec'd, but she said "never mind, I'll have to throw it all away anyway, just leave.," as she walks away in a huff. So, we got up and left, hungry and annoyed. The words "I'm sorry" never came out of her mouth. Only defensiveness and a very rude demeanor and attitude. Never, have I ever been spoken to like that from another person, let alone a mgr of any establishment. As a mgr and chef myself, if I had someone on my payroll like this, they would be retrained and/or fired immediately. She was very unprofessional and extremely rude. This type of management will hinder the growth of your establishment and continue to get you complaints from patrons like myself. I strongly suggest you do something about her, as I will NEVER go to this place again and refuse to be treated like she treated us. Negativity from mgmt causes all employees to act the same way...it's contagious. Good luck with this mgr, as she needs to be spoken to. Hope she doesn't speak to you the way she did us. read more

Chicken is as rubbery as the staff and atmosphere. Martini spilled all over my wife's new Old Navy blouse. Ziosk would not leave us alone as if it gained superior intelligence in between the time I sat down after a 30 minute wait and the 30 minutes it took for our drink order. My friend and I ate at Applebee's today for lunch. We left disappointed. The main reason for this is that neither her chicken caesar salad, nor my southwest steak salad, looked anything like the pictures in the menu. They were MUCH smaller than depicted in the menu. The menu depicted my meal as a LARGE salad, with heaps of salad and a large sliced steak. My actual dish was small - so small that I thought I was given a lunch sized portion until the bill came. If I am going to spend $13 dollars on a salad, I expect it to actually fill me up. Instead, I left hungry. Perhaps this is a trend in this restaurant, because we even heard a gentleman at a nearby table complain about his food too. The service was OK - my iced tea glass spent a lot of time sitting empty on our table. On a bright note, the hostess was friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy. read more

I have been to this Applebee's on many occasions and Most of the time they are great at what they do. I was there this Veterans day and they gave me a free meal as they do every year. Both my wife and I eat here today and had a wonderful experience. We had the sriracha shrimp. The presentation was excellent and the shrimp were perfect. Just the right amount of heat. Wilkes-Barre location. Overpriced, mediocre service, and food I could have prepared better myself. Ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade for $3.95, which was pretty tasty once you can manage to stir the strawberry mixture up from the bottom of the glass where it pooled. The straw they provide you with is so narrow and flimsy, you can't stir the mixture at the bottom. Also, the straw gets jammed with the ice slurry as you try to sip. How about offering a smoothie straw with this drink option? It's wider, and makes more sense. We ordered the Classic Combo appetizer, and requested mild wing sauce, and ended up with not so mild burn your lips wing sauce. The quesadillas were tasty though. I ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Chicken Capatavi meal, which arrived with what looked like those frozen bags of supermarket grilled chicken strips, which were limp and dry around the edges. The pasta was edible at least, and I'm not quite sure there was any artichoke in there at all. Boyfriend ordered the triple bacon cheddar cheeseburger, which was more like a triple cheddar bacon burger. It came with two strips of bacon, a metric ton of greasy cheddar on top of an overcooked burger, on the driest brioche bun on the planet. Food aside, our server was pleasant; however, barely present. When she did manage to swing by, she essentially never stopped. It was more like a drive-by "how's everything?" as she kept on walking. She even answered for us as we were chewing, and said, "good? great!" and kept on moving along to her next destination. For $52 and change, I felt cheated out of a good meal. Disgusting dirty bathrooms tables and entire visible eating area! Tried again after remodel and no better! Walked out on 2 occasions in last 6 months! Staff literally laying on counters and seem completely bored to be there! Manager seemed indignant when politely informed that even the menus and condiments were too sticky to touch. I love Applebees I usually never have a problem when I go there. Only one time I went in and got seated with my bf and we sat for 45 minutes without getting waited on. Ordered online for the 2 for $20 meal. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, a favorite of mine. What I received was limp and tasteless, and the chips were stale. The 2 burgers I ordered did not come with the onion, pickles, or signature sauce it said it would. When I went to pick up my order, the greeter ignored me for 5 minutes, then sent me to the bar where I waited for another 5 minutes before being sent over to the carside waiter. He rang me up quickly, but I won't be back. The food has really gone downhill lately, and the waitstaff was rude and dismissive. read more
