Haven't been to Applebees in over a decade but came in to use up some old gift cards. Honestly, wasn't expecting much, but we all enjoyed our dinner here considering it was free. The massive margarita helped get us started off in the right way. I also enjoyed my blackened cajun salmon with broccoli, although I'm not quite sure there was any cajun seasoning on there. Omg I used to love Applebees not anymore. I ordered full rack of ribs through grub hub. Look at the photo. I payed $27 for this +fees. The ribs were so dry that I couldn't even eat it. This location is consistently busy so they maybe need to reach out for reviews from their steady clientele. Food here is pretty consistent and good, though I had a way too cheesy wrap last week that I didn't like and she offered to replace. Wait staff has always been friendly and we never have had to wait, come about 1-2 times a month, though usually not right at 6pm. I work 2nd shift and could stop by on the way home and pick up Happy Hour for me and my wife. My wife is suffering from heart conditions and can't meet me at 11:00 pm for apps. Here is a prime example of a business in need of staff they blow off and lead people to believe they have a job with the company. My nephew applied at the Applebee's in Woodbury and went on two separate interviews, shadowed at the restaurant received all of the information about how things are run he shared his availability he spoke to several managers in person and on the phone. When asked to come into shadow" which they did not compensate him for his time oh except to comp him chicken nachos. unfortunately, after many attempts to reach a manager receiving no response at all 2 weeks later, he gets a call letting him know that they had gone with another applicant. I understand going with a different applicant but at the least you can do as a business is do not leave people hanging its unprofessional and uncalled for. Terrible service. Server was clearly very impatient with us and wanted our full order. We didn't want to place our entree order until receiving our appetizer. Manager kept bothering us to ask how we were doing. We were gonna let the rude server issue slide until she approached us for the third time. No one came out to husband's car after 5-10 min so we went in. Their reply "oh, no one has helped you yet?" Obviously not if I am asking for help. Rude of no one in the store to greet him. He shows them the proof of our order, which has already been taken from bank account to be processed, but they said they didn't have an order. He then talked with a manager and several servers and somehow no one could give an answer to where our missing order went. Another 10 min or so goes by and someone walks out with our food and sets it on the bar. No one apologized for the issue, no one tried to correct it. no one handed it to him, just dropped it on the bar and walked away. He grabbed our food and left. They were nice enough to set aside a whole section for us; however they only had one poor server for the whole section. Me and my friends came for happy hour drinks and half apps, we were told that margaritas came with chips and salsa and nothing different about the pricing between dollaritas and regular. I accidentally ordered the wrong thing (completely my fault) and when I brought it to the attention of the manager Jamie she took care of it without a second thought. Terrible service. We came in and sat in the waiting area for about a good 5-10 minutes without even being acknowledged. Once we were seated, it took the waitress another 5 minutes to even say anything to us...we were seated next to a table with a literal ton of used and dirty cups, plates, and trash. My daughters food arrived a goof 5 mins before our food did. We had to remind the waitress multiple times for our daughters milk and was not given a straw for it. My steak was severely overcooked...i asked for medium rare & received well done. My waitresses name was Jordan. Maybe she was new, or just terrible. Either way, she didn't even bother to apologize. The same thing happened with the other customers around us. Not sure who the manager was on shift, but they should do their job. This is a joke. When I first came to this location, the food was good and service was decent. My last two visits here just got worse and worse. I ordered the sirloin steak with a baked potato and steamed vegetables. The steak had no seasoning on it, it tasted extremely plain (I swear the first time i ordered steak here it wasn't half bad...now it's just all bad). I order it medium rare. The texture was gummy and the steak just wasn't cooked proportionally. Some parts would be medium rare other parts would be way too rare or burnt. The waitress didn't come around for a while to refill my drinks, she was gone for about 20 to 25 minutes and this is at a time when the place wasn't busy at all (around 10:45pm on a Thursday). The other complaint is on my steamed vegetables. They give a combination of carrots, zucchini, and broccoli. The broccoli was gigantic! It literally was as big as my hand making a fist. Why Applebee's doesn't chop down this mega broccoli to eatable portion sizes I don't know. It was also pretty tough...as in not boiled or steamed long enough to soften the texture. My last issue here is on the chicken wings. Is it just me or are the traditional wings with their bones protruding out of the meat weird looking? It doesn't look like a normal chicken wing to me, the bones are half popping out of the meat, not just for one wing, but all the wings. Are these chickens fed so much steroids that the muscles just push their bones outside of their bodies??? For real...just really weird looking chicken wings. The food quality here has gone downhill big time. For great food nearby this location, go to the Green Mill off Century Avenue and hwy 94. So far, it's only been great service and excellent quality food there. Something Applebee's in no way compares to. read more
