I went here for a friend's birthday. We came in at 8 for happy hour at 9 and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and put up with our stupid jokes and banter. She also have great beer recommendations. The place was fairly empty on a Tuesday, but I can see it's very spacious and would be great to watch a game at or just hang out. We visited the Tamarack Tap Room on a Tuesday evening ~5PM and were at the bar while waiting for the remaining party members. Bartenders were very nice and quick, ensuring that everyone had something to drink. I thought it was nice how the bartenders were interacting with us about sports and other fun interests, which meant that they were attentive! It was also very nice how one of the bartenders noticed I was finished with my drink and replaced it with an iced water. Once we had our party members, we were seated and were given menus. One thing I noticed was that our server ignored me and asked the rest of the table (who happened to be men) what they would like to drink. It seemed that anytime I was trying to say I would like a water, I was immediately dismissed. This happened more than once, which made the experience feel a little awkward. Since we were waiting on one more party members (who unfortunately couldn't make it at the end) maybe our server was waiting for him to be seated before taking our order? But it took her a full 20-30minutes for her to take our food orders, while I was still without a drink. I had to ask for water while making my food order. Bartending service was very nice. But table service was a bit of a disappointment. Food-wise it was alright, but nothing out of the ordinary that would make me want to come back. Food and ambiance is great! The only thing I wouldn't order again is the Buffalo wrap. Not much chicken in it and too much lettuce. My favorite is burnt ends (Fri and Sat only though). Also the chipotle chicken bowl is phenomenal. Their fries are homemade and are amazing. And I always order their chicken wild rice soup. It is the best. My husband always orders one of their burgers and he said they are always good. Mostly great service but lately have had a number of bad servers in a row. Not sure what is going on there but we had one server (Princess) which was pretty close to the worse service we've ever had. Was extremely rude, didn't refill sodas, and we practically had to beg her for the check. The best thing about this place is the TV's, the bar, the booths, and large capacity. The beer was also pretty good, but the glasses could be ice cold and so could the beer. Another bright spot was Gabby G who was our server. FRIENDLY, accommodating, and prompt in service, and made our late luncheon a pleasant experience. Floors could be a little cleaner, but it is MN so this time of year can be the problem with the floors. Was hoping for a late lunch happy hour specials introduced to us as our bill ended up $52.43 plus tip for just two meals, 2 beers, and a Dr. Pepper. Nothing happy about a large late 3pm lunch bill. Went to Tamarack Tap Room for a birthday party. We were seated in a back room with lots of windows and plenty of open space. My husband and I ordered the Brussels Sprouts to share. For entrees, I had the Black and Blue Steak Pasta, and my husband ordered the Bourbon Braised Short Rib. I substituted the fettuccine noodles for cavatappi. The Brussels Sprouts were a bit disappointing. The goat cheese was a nice touch, but the dish didn't feel worth the $14 price tag. The portion was also very small. My pasta was okay. The steak was very tough and chewy, so I mostly ate around it. The flavor was good and fairly spicy, but it's not something I would return for. My husband described his meal as "mid." I tried a bite and agreed--it tasted a lot like pot roast. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. We each had a few cocktails during dinner. I tried the Raspberry Mojito, the Blackberry Mint Margarita, and the Pomegranate Hibiscus French 75. All of the drinks were good, but the mojito was easily the best of the three. My husband started with a Manhattan, then ordered two classic mojitos after that. The service was very good. Christian, in particular, was helpful and accommodating. Overall, I probably won't be back for a while since it's not near my area and there wasn't anything outstanding to return for, but I would consider coming back if I was already in the neighborhood. read more

My sister suggested we stop here for dinner as she's been here before and said the food is pretty good. We kind of prejudged from the packed parking lot that it was going to be a bit busy. We were able to find a parking spot by the door and when we walked in we were shocked that it was as busy as the lot made it seem. We were able to get a table right away. Our server was nice and very attentive the entire time. We ordered drinks, my sister got a berry mint mule and I got the chocolate orange espresso martini. Both drinks were good. For food we both got burgers. My sister got the taproom burger - which is basically a classic burger. I tried something different and got the cream cheese wonton burger (subbed the meat for an impossible patty). I thought it was good. The grilled flavor of the patty did clash with the sweetness of the sauce on the burger a bit but overall I liked it. The fries were good as well. I would definitely come back here again to try other items. They have a caramel bread pudding and some other things I would try. Food was okay. The schezuan shrimp bowl was comparable to Schwann's frozen stir fry my mom woukd make when I was young. I did like their style of French fries. Portions were very large. The bathrooms were nicely decorated and well maintained as well as the rest of the visible areas of the restaurant. We had a pretty good meal here Sunday night. I started off with a classic Miller Lite. They have a great beer list, craft beers and domestics. I had the fish and chips. It was very good. Came with a couple sauces for dipping, one was a classic tartar sauce and one was a brown butter aioli. My hubby had the brisket entree. He was a little disappointed with it. The wedding quality garden flowers take my breath away in the spring and summer. Very romantic in the evening with soft (twinkling) lighting and a gentle water fountain in the small lake. Took a trip out to the taproom and it was my first time coming to this establishment. There is ample parking all around the building and I got there a bit early to meet a friend. As you walk in the first thing you run into is a cool claw machine and an atm then you walk through the doors into a large room with large vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. I was quickly greeted and looked around for my friend. The establishment had booths and tables and a large bar with a wide selection of beet and whiskey. I tried 3 beers as well as the cheese curds in some of this purple-to-die-for sauce and like clockwork after the drinking did not take any more photos. I also tried a Buffalo chicken wrap. The wrap was made very well and the chicken was not soggy and still crispy. The fries were very good and had a nice crunch to them also. Our server was fabulous as well as every staff member that I ran into. I do plan to make a return trip because there was so much on the menu to try. read more

Went here because my wife said it has the best burgers she's ever had. Although a bit dramatic of a statement, it was pretty darn good. The service was excellent, I would say a little too much in our bubble and felt like she just wanted to buy/get more stuff, asking to refill the beer when it wasn't all gone. Anyway that's a one off, doesn't speak to the quality of the restaurant. I decided to give this place another try after my last few disappointing visits YEARS ago. I'm pleased to say things were much better. We sat at the bar and shared the godfather burger with loaded tots and the amanda's whiteout flatbread. Both were really good! My only complaint on the burger was that the caramelized onions were huge chunks and there was an overwhelming amount of them. Easy enough to pick off though! The flatbread was great! Bartender was super busy with lots of customers at the bar, but he did a great job staying on top of things. We will definitely come back! Lots of other things on the menu looked good too. read more

The atmosphere was perfect with the umbrella and the wind. The food...omg my wife had the Chipotle bowl and I had the Creme Cheese Wonton Burger. They both were great. My mom-in-law had a Chicken Caprese Sandwich and she loved it. So I had to tell you that Savanna was a remarkable waitress and she was so polite and just so pretty and had this welcoming glow. I'd give you more than 5 stars if I was able to but sadly can not. Highly recommend the Tamarack Tap Room to anyone visiting Woodbury, MN. While you're at it...check out TJ Maxx too. Being it was the holiday season it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be and that's ok. We were there celebrating our daughter's 20th birthday, and surprised her by bringing her here. Parking was great, tons of space. Bathrooms looked bright, clean and nice as well. We ordered drinks and if you need a beer, they have a WIDE variety, like a whole sheet and then some! They may even give you a little sample if you're unsure how something tastes or what it is. Definitely helped some of our people decide. All but one person at our table ordered the burnt ends meal. They were so tender and flavorful, I ended up using a fork! The flavor with a little fat on them, was so good. The fries were different. Good, but different. They were fries, but shaped like chips. It also came with Texas toast. The kids menu had lots of options for the great price of $6.95 that included a drink! The birthday girl had brisket Mac and cheese which she always gets and loves. They offered her a free birthday dessert and she got the bacon mini doughnuts which were really good, and hot out the oven! I was surprised that when the bill came, we actually got charged .75 for BBQ sauce! We had 2 sauces. I know it's not a lot, but have we really gotten to that point we charge for condiments. This place has a great patio for summertime! The restaurant is very beautiful in a nice location in Tamarack Village. We came in without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon and although they were busy, they were able to accommodate us and found us the perfect table outside. The server was very kind, and she was pretty quick for being as busy as she was. I ordered the California burger and my friend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. The bun on the burger had a brioche taste to it, which I loved! Both were delicious and the ranch is made from scratch, it's absolutely amazing. I also tried the ghost pepper aoli with the tater tots and it was tasty!! They have a wide selection of beers and beverages. I ordered the pear cider beer which was really refreshing!! This place is always busy! Well when you have 4ish sit down restaurants in a growing suburb of the twin cities that's what happens. I was shocked that we were seated right away and maybe it was because of the size of our party. Lots of tvs in this place too! Anyways this visit was disappointing when prior visits have been great. I ordered the chipotle dry rub wings and not only were they not warm or hot...they didn't taste like much. Hubby scarfed his Rueben and kiddo was happy with tater tots. I've been to this taproom before during the summer and this was my first time there during winter. My friends wanted to grab a bit after work here and I was down for a bite/drink and convos. We were able to find parking without having to circle back again. I'd say there's enough parking space and seems like the time we went in was peak hour ~ after 6pm because their current wait time was 25 mins and there were lots of other people waiting to be seated too. It definitely seemed like a family friendly location because my friends and I saw so many kids and babies there. There were cute valentines decorations there and has a nice open space and good amount of seating-- even the bar area was spacious. The vibe was laidback and I like that. There are several tvs in the area we were waiting and the area we got seated too. The menu had good selection of drinks from zero proof to whisky and everything in between! I was looking for something light and alcohol free so I ordered salad and some unique zero proof rose bubbly drink. I liked the salad but wished I knew that it'll have pomegranate all over it which made it hard to enjoy but the amount I was able to eat did taste good-- it was the apple pear salad. The size of it was massive too so I think next time I'll just ask for no pomegranate or have it on the side if you decide to order that. Our waiter was nice and checked on us often. read more

I always see a ton of cars in their parking lot and anticipated it to be jam packed, even at the early bird hour I went, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much space their was and that it was not crowded. I was greeted immediately and as it was not busy, seated right away. There's a couple steps to the seating area on the right and the left is on level ground and will eventually lead to an accessible ramp. The place was not very busy since it was an odd hour so it felt nice and calm but yet, somehow still a bit noisy and alive. The place is nice and casual. The food I ordered turned out great. You can taste the sweet cherry smoke in the wings. These were great but because of how strong the wood flavor is, you can't really enjoy or really get too much of the seasoning that is sprinkled on. They are still great, just kind of competing in flavor. The Amanda flatbread was delicious and I would definitely recommend it. It might actually taste even better with some of the pickle seasoning on it to give it some more acid. It's quite a rich flatbread so it would be perfect with a hit of more acid. The kids meal looked nice and not dry. The brownie sundae was extremely chocolatey. If you're a big chocolate fan, can't go wrong with it. Had dinner with my sister on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm. Place was packed! Lots of people waiting for a table. I don't think they take reservations. We ordered the pretzel for an appetizer. So good! It was huge, soft on inside, and crispy on the outside. We loved the mustard the most. Cheese wasn't bad, but the mustard was just so great (we even got some to go). Buffalo chicken wrap and pickle burger were good too. All the food was flavorful. We haven't been here and years and it appeared to be much better than we remembered. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays so that was cute. Unfortunately, our server was not very attentive. We didn't see her again until it was time to pay.
