Unfortunately, my experience at Applebee's was disappointing. The waitress was very friendly and did her best to help, and I appreciated that the restaurant comped the meal when I expressed my concerns. However, the food itself was not good. The wait for the meal was much longer than expected, and when it finally arrived, part of it was piping hot and fresh while other items seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while. The noodles were especially disappointing, with an unpleasant texture and flavor. Considering the quality of the food, I felt the prices were too high. While the customer service from our waitress was excellent, the overall dining experience did not meet my expectations. read more

Came in on a Thursday around 9pm for the late happy hour. It was busy so we sat at the bar (it was pretty empty) the bartender Raena was very chatty and informative and the only bartender on site??. We ordered some appetizers too since they are half price. Pretzels with beer cheese, wonton tacos and boneless wings. All food items were served hot and fresh. And all drinks were great. Popular place that my kids enjoy. The highlight is this place has really nice window views while you dine. It was a nice day with good sunlight. We ordered the hot honey glazed chicken bacon skillet. My son's favorite! The crispy chicken is coated in a sweet glaze of "hot honey" with bacon over a white sauce Mac and Cheese. The chicken was good, the bacon was tender and Mac and Cheese was just okay. Simple. Good portion. This use to be on the 2 for $25 menu. I think that was a fair price. It's $16.99 , not too bad. I used to have a poor opinion of Applebee's, but things have turned around. It's National Cheeseburger day and Applebee's has a deal for $8.99 you get a Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. But looking over the menu, the real deal is everyday, they have this thing called the "Really Big Meal Deal" for just a buck more $9.99 you get the same 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger, fries AND a drink included. Normally I've been going to Chili's, but heard this burger was better, so here we go! I ordered it cooked "pink" with extra tomato and onions and pickle all no extra charge. I got the strawberry lemonade for my drink. The service was fine, she knew the menu choices and put it into her Ipad thingy. I was able to pay using the little kiosk thig on the table. That made the service faster and easier. Emailed me the receipt too! Now, for the food! I gotta say, YES, this burger is very good, cooked more or less as ordered, but I did like all the extra tomato and onions. I'd say the meat is bigger and of higher quality than Chili's, so for this price, I may just have to switch to Applebee's .... never thought I'd say that, but it's the truth after giving this burger deal a try! Visited June 20th..see my receipt. I stopped in for the first time at the Yuba City location on Tharp Road. Its alittle tricky as you cannot pull in directly into the restaurant. I wanted a quick bite before getting back on the road. TAD was my server/bartender and he was very pleasant and attentive! I ordered my favorite..the pub pretzels with 2 dipping sauces! They were good as usual and I had the rest packed up to go for later. The place is very clean ( much cleaner than the Oroville Applebees!) and the employees were all very friendly! I noticed the bathroom was very spotless! There is alot of tvs to watch sports or whatever you are into. Full bar and massive drink menu! They have happy hour specials as well! We have been here a total of 3 times and it has been consistently great. Food is delicious and menu changes so much to try. Drinks are always great. As well as the service. Sometimes obviously when under staff and busy it can get dirty and wait times varies but sometimes you just do the best you can. The communication is on point and my family enjoys it. My daughter and I stopped by today, hoping for lunch. We walked in and there was no hostess to take our name. No problem. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. No hostess. No one even looked our direction. It wasn't particularly busy, lots of empty tables. Still, we sat waiting patiently. After at least 16 minutes of not being acknowledged, we decided to leave and go to Chilis. Applebees, you may want to take a lesson here. I came in here for dinner with my two nieces as they received a kids eat free card for good grades. We were sat down but not given kids menus even though I was clearly with kids. Our waiter finally came by and I informed her we needed a kids menu and showed her the kids eat free cards which she said we could use and she will take it towards the end of the meal. We put in our order and waited for about 15-20 minutes for our meals to arrive. Once our meal arrived we began eating. As kids tend to do they needed to use the restroom so I went with my nieces as i didn't want two young children going by themselves. When we came out our table had been cleared with all of our food taken away. At first we thought we were at the wrong table. We saw our waitress and I explained that we went to the restroom and our meals had all been taken away. She didn't necessarily apologize just expressed shocked and said we will remake the food. We had to wait another 15 minutes for our food to be remade and brought out to us. You would think after being inconvenienced the staff would check up on us a bit more but in fact I had to ask multiple people for items that took 10 minutes to come out. The manager did not come out to check up on us after our incident. When it was time to pay I handed the waitress the two kids eat free cards as each of my nieces had their own for getting grades and I also had a coupon for a free dessert I received in the mail. The waitress immediately says she can't use both cards on one transaction. Let me point out in the beginning of the process I had already told her I had these cards and she acknowledged we could use it but now when it was time to pay I wasn't not allowed to use both cards. I explained to her I have two kids they both have their own card, our experience was already ruined from the incident and now we are arguing about the cards. She got frustrated and said I'm not arguing when she clearly was and said she will talk to the manager. Went for appetizers last night. Restaurant has been recently "improved and upgraded ". It looks cheap and was dirty. It was about 4:30, maybe 12 people in the entire restaurant. The service was slow, the food was cold and I noticed multiple orders needed to be taken back because they were wrong, this included the curbside pickup option. Staff could be overheard complaining about having people in their zones and it took forever to finally get our check, after asking more than once. Appplebees reminds me why I don't ever come to Applebees. Menu and pricing wasn't the issue because we came around happy hour which was great. We weren't even told that it was happy hour from the guy who sat us down. He just asked where we'd like to be seated. Then when we peeked at the menus that's when we realized it was happy hour. The appetizers wasn't too bad given the fact everything took a long time to come out so it was kind of worth the wait. Then after we ordered we had to wait pretty long again but knowing the appetizers were pretty good we had high hopes. So when the food came out our server TAD brought me my food so we just thought nothing of it and that it'll come out eventually. Then we started realizing the party behind us got all their food and by then I was already done eating and my wife was kind of annoyed because all she ordered was a Cesar salad which probably should've been the first thing that came out. And we also ordered wings on the kiosk on the table. So as we continued waiting we just decided to tell TAD to cancel to order of wings and Cesar salad then he said "ohhh I saw empty plates and thought all your food came out" he was sorry and apologized and said he must've got lost running around. We just said it's ok we'll just pay. Then during the laying process they had the nerves to put the tip at 20%. Yea ur not getting a single penny buddy if ur gonna forget our food. Multiple times we told the host and staff that it was my daughter's birthday. The server didn't sing happy birthday we had to ask for the birthday ice cream and brownie. When asked if they're going to sing happy birthday we were told he could find staff to sing...funny because for the white family there was staff to sing.
